All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Restaurant Raku AYCE Sushi Is Opening in Round Rock | Eater Austin

"An all-you-can-eat sushi and Japanese seafood buffet concept is coming to Round Rock, slated to open in December 2023 or January 2024 at 2000 South I-35 Frontage Road, Suite C2. The location is a franchised outpost of a Queens, New York–based seafood buffet chain (Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet) and is being opened locally by owner Sam Wang, so expect AYCE sushi, sukiyaki and other seafood buffet offerings paired with a bar service." - Nadia Chaudhury

It was our second time visiting this place. We love it so much. Food is very good. Very clean place and most importantly for me, restroom is clean and there is no specific smell of cleaning products that usually off puts me

Google
Absolutely delicious food - all you care to eat and brought to your table for a very reasonable price. The service was impeccable! We were seated immediately, and the staff were genuinely attentive without being intrusive. The new location is a beautiful and peaceful environment - very impressive.

Best Sushi place in town! 😮‍💨👌 🍣 If you're a sushi lover Raku Sushi is a must-visit! This place never disappoints, the food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From classic rolls to unique house specials, everything I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. The all-you-can-eat deal for under $30 is unbeatable, especially considering the quality and variety they offer. Service is consistently good, and the staff is attentive without rushing you. I even posted a couple of videos of my favorite dishes, definitely check them out if you want a visual taste of what to expect! Whether you're going for a casual lunch or a sushi night out, Raku Sushi delivers every time. Highly recommend!

Google
I love a good all-you-can-eat! I think it is reasonably priced based on both quantity and quality. For two people it ended up being $60-$70. I highly recommend going to dinner so you can enjoy the full menu. The service station for the ginger/edamame/etc was a little messy when I went, but it was dinner rush so I'm willing to give them a pass on it. Overall, I'm very pleased and would go back again.

Google
Met my nephew here for dinner since they just reopened with a move across the street. Best all-you-can-order-and-eat I've ever had. Since they bring half rolls it's easier to try a variety which means I ordered quite a few and enjoyed all but one but due only to personal preference. Very good tempura too-yum, ok gyoza, good sauces, many choices, all fresh. Service was great and attentive. A definite return is called for and so many more rolls to give a go!!!!😄😄💞 On second visit the unagi was better, more grilled crust, service still very attentive and rolls come out fast. The deep fried Volcano roll was good but something to order on rare occasion or to share since the oil from deep frying is on the heavier side, as expected. Too bad they don't serve cocktails although I see beer and saki on the website ( not the menu) but no one mentioned these options. With all the roll sampling I've had no room for a beer anyway.

Google
This is a must go if you are in town looking for sushi! The fish is so fresh and the staff is on point. If you are looking for all you can eat for a deal and quality food, this is the place.

Google
We visited the new location for lunch and, as always, enjoyed our time at Raku. The place is always packed, which is usually a good sign at a restaurant, and the service is always able to keep up with it! This is one of our go-to spots because we know we can get good sushi every time. We like to explore different sushi restaurants pretty often but Raku is one spot we continue to come back to.

Google
Great place to get fresh super yummy all you can eat sushi 🍣 we had a great eating experience here!

Yelp
Our new favorite place, always a great meal. Very nice restaurant and friendly staff. Ambiance great nice remodel.

Yelp
We used to love to come here but since new ownership took over, the service has changed drastically The staff is not allowed to talk to conversate with the customers and engage in friendly conversation as we got to know each other over the years. Secondly, it seems that the quality of the food is still good, but it's starting to go down a bit as we found hair in the teriyaki chicken as well as it being undercooked Now they will come up to you and tell you if you leave any food on your plate I.e sushi roll they will charge you next time, We still will go to this restaurant. It's just the new owner's attitude needs to change and BRING BACK THE OLD STAFF ASAP THEY MADE IT A VERY HAPPIER PLACE

Yelp
Raku reopened in a new location in Roseville and parking was so much easier. On a Friday night, the restaurant was surprisingly not crowded. Food was as delicious as before, especially the fried oysters, the walnut shrimp roll, and the nigiri. Everything was fresh and service was fast. The fried banana and sesame balls are always a great way to end the meal

Yelp
We came for dinner on a Saturday night with 3 adults and 2 kids for the all-you-can-eat sushi. They have both a lunch and dinner menu, and for dinner you can order from both. It's about $30 per person. All the sushi and food we tried was really good--there honestly wasn't anything we didn't enjoy. There's also a small "salad" bar with a few appetizer options. We ordered gyoza, California rolls, crunchy California rolls, Alaskan roll, Philly roll, shrimp tempura roll, honey walnut roll, Lion King roll, and Firebird roll. Everything was fresh and tasty. The inside had a decent amount of seating options and was spacious. It was clean and inviting. The customer service was just okay--not terrible, but not great either. Drink refills took quite a while, and it was a bit of a wait to get more food ordered. One frustrating part was being charged the full adult price for our 10-year-old, who barely ate anything. Overall, the sushi was delicious, but the slow service and pricing for kids might make us think twice before coming back with the whole family.

Yelp
Have always loved this place, been going for years and there's a server who always remembers my bf and I despite it being big gaps in our visits! All servers are attentive and quick. They accommodate to me using the to go menu to choose my veggie rolls for the ayce. Tables are all pretty close together lol but their veggie rolls especially the walnut sweet potato roll is my favorite. My bf enjoys all his go to's like the fire cracker. Always my go to place for sushi.

Yelp
First time in, but no stranger to their menu since I'm a frequent patron of their West Sac location! Dinner here on a Thursday night was $29ish plus tax/tip per person for AYCE. You can order anything from both the lunch and dinner menu. The only thing not listed on the menu is the tempura ice cream dessert (strawberry)! Salad bar is self-serve and has edamame, cucumber, slaw, orange slices, wasabi, ginger, and I think a dipping sauce for gyoza? Miso soup, gyoza, tempura, oysters, etc. I usually skip the hand rolls. My usual rolls: Howie Phoenix 49ers Harbor Bob's Rock & Roll Salmon Lovers Nigiri: Sake (salmon) Unagi (eel) Maguro (tuna) Hamachi (tuna) Saba (mackerel) Inari (Tofu Skin) Tamago (Sweet Scrambled Egg) Desserts: Donut Fried Bananas Sesame Ball Tempura Ice Cream Service was great and quick, fresh to order. Quality of everything was very good, and my dining companion Rachelle O's first time ever at a Raku was a hit.

Yelp
Fastest pit stop over on our way to Tahoe after getting gas at Costco across the street. I called ahead to see if I could order takeout and then asked if we could eat it quickly here because kids eat better at a table. The hostess accommodated us and I like the all you can eat concept for the next time we pass through here. We didn't know this is a self serve situation so we didn't know to get our own sauce bowls etc. The hostess was nice enough to bring them for us. Sushi was fresh and made quickly. Appreciated how this was facilitated for our needs. Will be back when we can to try the all you can eat! We had salmon and yellowtail and both were delicious.

Adam J.

Yelp
Not too sure about this place. Went there a while ago and with their policy for making you eat everything you order, they happen to have given me the wrong item twice at one visit. It's been a while and I may stop back to check up on if I had a one-off experience.
google avatar

Joe A.

Yelp
New location feels bigger but the lights feel too bright. Service is quick and friendly and sushi is good for an all you can eat Sushi restaurant. 4/5 stars.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
I have dine in with Raku for many years. The food is so fresh and the the price is super reasonable. The salmon sashimi tastes very good. The service was a bit slow however. The dinning area is super clean.
google avatar

Cheryl B.

Yelp
We came on a Monday Holiday and were able to have all you can eat lunch for $22. As a vegan the all you can eat sushi often doesn't make sense as we don't have much selection. In this case when you ask the pull out the regular menu and show you what is included for AYCE that is not shown on the regular menu. They also have a salad bar and most of those items are vegan too. Do note that most everything vegan was fried and we don't normally eat fried food.
google avatar

Loi N.

Yelp
Typical Ayce sushi place nothing special quick n efficient with your typical Ayce sushi selections I didn't like the fact they charged you 3 dollars for tea a little tacky I thought would I come back? Probably not

Joanna C.

Yelp
We got AYCE and IMMEDILATELY our stomachs hurt after eating. We've never been so nauseous after eating sushi. For the record we LOVE sushi, so this isn't the first time we've had it. But we were very very close to throwing up. We also didn't eat that much or that quickly either. I don't recommend the miso soup because I thought it would ease my stomachache but it made it worse. I wish it didn't make us so sick because the sushi tasted delicious, especially the deep fried ones.

Yelp
First time trying Raku and it was tasty!!! The Harbor is probably new favorite roll and Travis was great because I don't like lots of sauces. Fresh, tasty and delivery was also great! Sorry about the photo...it was so good I forgot to take a photo until I was almost done

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go for sushi is Raku Sushi in West Sacramento, so when I saw a new one opened up in Roseville near the galleria mall, I knew I had to check it out. The interior is decent size but make sure to get on that waiting list as the place gets packed! All you can eat sushi costs $29.95 at dinner time and includes salad bar and appetizers. My favorite thing to get is nigiri (saba, magiro, sake, hamachi). Some of my favorite rolls are the Volcano (deep fried with tuna, jalapenos, crab salad), and Phoenix (shrimp tempura soft shell crab masago). They have three different desserts and sometimes I opt for the fried bananas with powdered sugar. If you have a hankering for good quality sushi, look no further than this place. You will leave absolutely stuffed!

Yelp
I DoorDashed lunch from Raku Shushi today and I am quite satisfied with the food that arrived. My order consisted of Sake / Salmon, Edamame, a Shrimp Hand Roll and the Red Dragon. The salmon was fresh and tender .. lots of flavor. My Edamame was crunchy and tasty. The Red Dragon was remarkably good (shrimp tempura, cucumber topped with tuna, avocado and spicy mayo). The Shrimp Hand Roll was OK. In my opinion, there was not enough shrimp to carry the name. The menu options seemed competitively priced. I will order from here again.

Dalia G.

Yelp
We chose to eat here because of the quality and service at the Sacramento location, the service was horrible.. our waitress was so inattentive, was taking our order and half way as I was speaking turned around and started talking to someone else for I kid you not a whole 4 minutes, we got our order &' before we could as for any sides she was walking away, same thing for refreshments, never once were asked for refills etc. as we finished up we waited for the bill, let the host know we were ready so he could pass along the message since our waitress was nowhere to be found. Waited for another 10 minutes until she came out and started passing out orders around..
google avatar

Kristina E.

Yelp
The waitresses are super attentive & nigiri is fresh and melts in your mouth! Love the new location! Sesame balls!yum
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Every time I visit Sacramento, I make sure to visit Raku sushi. I usually go to the Sacramento location but we were shopping at the Roseville galleria so we decided to check this location out. First off, I was surprised that there was no wait because there usually is one at the other location. I love how affordable their lunch option is and even the dinner. The service was a lot better here because our server made sure to constantly check up on us and had our food coming out quickly. I LOVE the nigiri because the fish quality is good and with a reasonable amount of rice. My favorite thing to order is the salmon and hamachi nigiri. Make sure to end your dinner with a doughnut because those are delicious too! Next time I'm in the area and craving sushi, I will make sure to come to the Rocklin Raku location.

Jordan P.

Yelp
Wonderful service, great food, and well worth the price! My family and I try to go at least once a month, it is wonderful!

Yelp
Went to Raku at their new location from next to Black Bear Diner. Immediately walking in the door, it was noticeably and visually disappointing as the restaurant no longer seemed like a restaurant and more of a hole in the wall with half the seating compared to their original location. I understand the rent may have been the reason for their move, but their prices have increased, their sushi pieces are much smaller and honestly lacking overall. The service is still about the same and it's basically at seating, a waitress, who is at the opposite end of the restaurant will wave you down rather than come to you and seat you. Waitress will stop coming by after ordering 2nd round of sushi. Service drops making you wait longer for you order after 3-4-5 times. Refills for drinks stop after the 1st round. It's all a ploy to get you in and push you out and making you leave even with a more disappointment.....Well, Raku is no longer on our list of favorites and we won't be recommending our friends to go. Sushi Kuma is top of the list favorite and KTOWN korean bbq sushi and hotpot.

Howard L.

Yelp
I don't dine here as much anymore because of the amount of new AYCE sushi and Chinese buffets that offer sushi. There's more premium AYCE sushi restaurants in Roseville that offers a large variety of options to pick from, but you'll pay 40-50 dollars for the privilege. Sometimes you crave sushi and don't need the extras at the higher price point. That's where Raku really shines. I paid their normal lunch price to dine here Sunday afternoon. I'm used to paying dinner prices for weekends and holidays everywhere else. The lunch menu is simple and at 21.00 dollars for freshly prepared nigiris and half rolls is a bargain. It was busy for a Sunday, but not like it used to be. I'm glad this place is able to survive through the pandemic and economic downturn. The service is surprisingly fast and the ladies taking orders know when to return to order more even though it being busy. This place has the best value for an AYCE sushi restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
It was an interesting experience. The food quality was high and everything tasted great. The service was only a 3/5, however we came on Mother's Day and there was a huge group that came, so perhaps it was busier than normal. Due to that, I believe it may have been a bit chaotic and less organized. We are willing to try them again during a more average time to see. But in general, the place was good. It didn't have much decoration but it at least didn't smell fishy in the restaurant. I'm very sensitive to that smell, so I'm glad they smelled fresh. The restroom could have been cleaner and the waitress was a little clumsy but it went well. More updates to come upon my next visit...

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Greeted immediately. Service was friendly and fast. Food has both taste and presentation. Prices are reasonable. Booth seating is a bit stiff/hard, and would be nice if they offered bar seating.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
We like this Raku Sushi its in our rotation dinner restaurant to go. They have plenty of choices to choose from. All delicious, all fresh. The staff are always friendly and dishes arrive quickly. They have a self serve salad bar where you can get pickled cucumber edamame. Don't forget to reserve space for their dessert.
google avatar

Yelp
Went to the new location today for lunch and it was fresh and super delicious ! Excellent customer service ! Everything was fresh and made to order , will be in my weekly lunch rotation
google avatar

Jacob T.

Yelp
If you need a sushi fix and a want all you can eat, this is a solid option! Sushi 7.5/10 Customer service 9/10 Overall 8.25/10 Will be back
google avatar

martha a.

Yelp
There was no wait to sit down since we sat at the bar. The wait service was slow to take our order and to bring our food. We got the chefs choice and everything brought was flavorful however the rice was brown and wouldn't hold together. The miso soup didn't have much flavor. I ordered maki and nigiri and the portions were smaller than most sushi places. The presentation was great.
google avatar

Ivy R.

Yelp
My friend took me to this cute and cozy sushi place. We shared sushi rolls and dessert. The food was delicious and I especially loved they had donuts for dessert any place that sell donuts I'm in. Service was good and fast, I didn't feel like I waited for the food to come out which was impressive since the food tasted fresh. Definitely recommend, if you're looking for good sushi and fast service.
google avatar

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
Closed until further notice :( We love raku! But they're currently closed due to moving locations. We drove all the way down here because their page says they're open.

Randy L.

Yelp
I liked the food. Fresh and tasty. There was a wide variety of options. Service was excellent.....price very fair. Busy but not very loud.
google avatar

Mitch C.

Yelp
Great service and food arrives very fast. My go to all you can eat place in the area.
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
Great service and nice people I walk here every weekend and really enjoy it. Nothing bad I can say!

Wild R.

Yelp
Loving the new place.. it's literally across from the old one. Dont get confuse with Roku/ Raku!! Go to Raku on Rocklin side near Mongolian bbq! Will definitely go back again! Service was great and place was clean!
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Think all you can eat sushi is too good to be true? Think again! We didn't realize that for $29.99 you can order anything on the menu- this includes appetizers, a large assortment of rolls and dessert. The gyoza was delicious and they had a decent amount of cooked rolls on the menu as I'm pregnant and staying away from raw fish. The rolls mostly came out pretty quickly and the servers checked on us frequently to keep the orders going. We finished our meal with the donut as our dessert. Overall, we were impressed with the quality of the food for the price.
google avatar

Armando L.

Yelp
Finally had the chance to visit the restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The food and service was top notch. We were greeted upon entry and seated right away. All the sushi rolls were delicious. We ordered 16 different rolls (4 pieces each roll) with appetizers and miso soup. At 30 bucks an adult and 20 a child, I think it was a pretty good value. We definitely ate our monies worth. The place itself is straightforward and nothing special but not bad at all. The ambiance is welcoming. Will definitely visit again with a big appetite.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Honestly this was a horrible experience. My sister & I decided to try this location because we like the one in west sac, but that was a mistake. No one came to get us water, and it took 30 min to have someone take an order. On top of that the food was so so & that's putting it kindly.
google avatar

Eliza G.

Yelp
AYCE Sushi! I enjoyed Raku Sushi and felt like you really get what you pay for here. Not the best sushi I've ever had but I thought it was definitely decent for the price and would come back again. I came for weekend lunch and I think I spent about $25ish. It was pretty busy but that didn't affect the service at all as I was impressed how super efficient the staff is! The lunch menu had a lot to chose from even though it has less than the dinner menu. My favorites were the Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll. I wish they served vanilla ice cream, it would pair so well with the deep fried banana and donut! The location is great with a large free shopping center parking lot. Parking convenience is always important to me. I think this location is way better than the West Sac one.

Ellie T.

Yelp
Fresh all-you-can eat sushi prepared just for you. Nice salad bar assortment. Small servings so you can try something, then order more if you liked it. Great variety!
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Service is great. The new location is stunning. It's good sushi for a great price. My daughter and I eat there once a month, it's always perfect. It's gets busy though, there is always a line

John C.

Yelp
Probably one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in Sacramento area! Food is great and service is quick.

Chris H.

Yelp
Service was very good, location was great, the inside was welcoming. The food was disappointing. Honestly, it was disgusting. Sushi mon is the best bang for your buck. It's only about $10-$20 more and is AMAZING!! Bobo is the greatest waitress, although they're all good. Don't waste your money, go get some quality sushi.
google avatar

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Sushi was great, my friend and I ordered every single roll of sushi on their roll menu, after we ran 11 miles. Service was fast and attentive. Ambiance was nice.
google avatar

Ash H.

Yelp
Food was great!! Food takes a little to come out even when is not busy but the food is good nonetheless. The customer service could be better! I'd say go to their other location instead.

Josh z.

Yelp
Wow everything was extremely delicious! Fresh and made to order can't beat it The service is excellent and alice was such a delight She has served us a few times and everytime is such a treat Highly recommend yall come in and enjoy what raku has to offer

Nolan S.

Yelp
Raku Sushi is hands-down one of the best all-you-can-eat sushi spots I've ever been to! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting--modern decor with a touch of Japanese elegance that sets the stage for a great meal.

Ophelya L.

Yelp
We love Raku! They do not take reservations so sometimes there is a wait. However the service is fast. The menu has good options, and is all-you-can-eat. Even the kids love it!
google avatar

Anthony L.

Yelp
This place is hands down the best AYCE sushi spot near the Sacramento area. For $18.95 they have a variety of selection of sushi rolls that come in 4 pieces. They also have a great selection of nigiri, maki and appetizers. The ambiance is inside is nice and spacious with decent amount of seating. I would say around 50+ seats. I did they ayce lunch menu which was $18.95. Service was great as the server checked on my frequently to see if I am ready to order more food. I ordered different nigiris that include salmon(sake), maguro, albacore, hamachi, masago and tako. My favorite one is the salmon nigiri. That is also their most popular nigiri. All most every single table had ordered the salmon nigiri. The salmon tasted really smooth, fresh and buttery. It was absolutely amazing. For the rolls, I ordered the spicy tuna roll, soft shell crab roll and spicy shrimp tempura roll. All of them taste great for its value. For appetizers and desserts I ordered the tempura and donut which was super fresh and hot when it cane out. By the end of the meal I was completely stuff. This place is an absolute bargain to come for lunch. I certainly ate my meal worth of $18.95. I would be definitely coming here again.

Yelp
Loved my experience at Raku! The owners were super friendly with us and other diners. They brought the food out quick no matter how much we ordered and the all you can eat is totally worth it! The fried banana is a must for dessert. Nice atmosphere, great for large groups and families.
