Date Night Bars and Restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina | Eater

"If pickleball is your thing, Rally is the place to impress a date with more than just your taste in food and cocktails, but your game. This pickleball entertainment center takes the sport seriously with leagues, social sessions, and classes. The food transcends typical bar food too; think spicy tuna crispy rice, lemongrass chicken kebabs, and rosemary and hazelnut–pesto pizza. It also has a daytime cafe where you can order an orange creamsicle matcha and a killer egg sando." - Kayleigh Ruller

If you’ve never tried pickleball, give it a shot. If you like tennis or ping pong, you are definitely going to enjoy it. Rally was such a fun spot for a date night. There were eight of us, all first timers, and we had an absolute blast. The food really surprised us in the best way. We expected basic bowling alley snacks, but they actually have a well curated menu with great options. The seating is super comfy, with plenty of lounge areas to relax and hang out before or after your game. Make sure you reserve your courts ahead of time because it can get busy. Highly recommend checking it out. The vibe is awesome and the whole experience was a hit.

I have become a frequent visitor of Rally and I have enjoyed many different offerings and events. My most frequent event is the courts and coffee they offer where you get an hour and a half of shuffled in play and a cold brew or a drip coffee for $16. It’s a great mix of social and competitive and I love the early morning hours. I’ve also really enjoyed everything that I’ve ordered off the menu. My favorites are the shrimp tacos, the skewers and the crispy rice tuna bites! Soo good. The servers are always friendly and the staff that run the events are super helpful.

Google
The Hubs found this place and wanted us to check it out. Was pleasantly surprised that they have ping pong tables. We have been searching for where to play ping pong for a while. We didn’t get to play pickleball, maybe next time. The food was okay, service was great. We were being checked in on several times. The atmosphere was amazing, loved that everyone was doing their thing. You can play pickleball indoor or outdoor. Great vibes overall. We will definitely be back. Love the hours as well, the close late, which is a plus in the Queen City. this place will be busy when the weather warms up. Definitely recommend checking it out. We parked on the street, but they have parking at the back. We got here around 11am and left around 2:30pm. It was busy but not crowded. Anyways, we will be back to play pickleball and ping pong ❤️

Google
Rally is a must do while you are in Charlotte! The pickle ball courts are beautiful with a lovely court lounge area for the players. The garden pods are a relaxing place to cool down after a game, to come sit and work from home, or enjoy a book! The Rosemary Vanilla Latte and Cauliflower Fritters were delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back here!

Google
Food and drink were really good, being able to play is also really awesome. Very clean and professional. I do wish there was a little bug screen to keep ping pong balls from entering the pickleball courts.

Google
We’ve been to Rally twice now and every time’s been a blast. Me and the boys rented a court for a few hours, grabbed some food and drinks, and ran some chaotic-but-hilarious doubles matches. None of us really know what we’re doing, but that didn’t matter - it's easy to pick up and just have fun with it. The space itself is super solid - great vibes, cool lighting, ping pong tables, lounge chairs scattered around, and just a chill atmosphere overall. It’s the kind of place you could post up for a few hours and not even realize how much time has passed. If you’re even thinking about going, just do it. Whether you're competitive or clueless, you’ll still have a good time. We’ll def be back.

Everything was wonderful. The staff is incredible. The food was killer. Nory Ball (general manager) was so kind and helpful. Valerie (front desk lady) was so nice and helped us learn the game as it was our first time. Our server Drew was phenomenal. Thank you for a great lunch outing:))

Yelp
Love Rally!! Service, vibes, atmosphere and food are amazing! Only giving 4 stars because the music is lacking. Would love more upbeat, pop, hip hop playlist!

Yelp
Wow! Honestly, this was an incredible experience! I went to the Coffee and Court event on a Tuesday morning. One word: ORGANIZED. As someone from Texas, who has been to many different pickleball places, I was very impressed! There is a company in Texas who has tried to execute the same idea, but it does not hold a match to Rally. The girls working did an incredible job! They were able to keep the games running, the coffee was made so quickly and deliciously, and everyone had a great time on the court! Wish I was staying longer, so I could come back! Warm and inviting atmosphere! If you're a beginner or if you've been playing for a long time, this is a great spot for you!

Yelp
I've been to Rally several times, but this was my first time experiencing brunch and wow, I was impressed! I ordered the avocado toast and it was absolute perfection. The bruschetta bread was toasted to a crispy golden crunch, the avocado was creamy and flavorful, and the toppings added an extra layer of yumminess that brought it all together. The atmosphere at Rally is always amazing, whether you're there for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just drinks and pickleball. The vibe is fun, upbeat, and welcoming. And the customer service? Phenomenal. Truly a 10 out of 10 every time. No matter the time of day, Rally delivers. The food is consistently amazing, the pickleball scene is exceptional, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend checking it out, you really can't go wrong!

Yelp
Mrs. K. and I were here for drinks and dinner but spent a while watching the pickleball going on. Some players might have been a tournament with another group that was clearly a tween girl's birthday party and another were a work bunch out for a fun time. We sat at the bar. Great service there. Mrs. K. ordered a mocktail that she enjoyed very much and I had a draft beer. While enjoying the beer, our pizza arrived. The "Queen City" has shiitake mushrooms, smoked mozzarella, manchego, lemon oil, black truffle vinaigrette drizzle, arugula. Fantastic! Rally isn't cheap but it's good stuff and fun entertainment. We'll be back! [Review 18 of 2025 - 4017 in North Carolina - 23591 overall]

Yelp
Wow! This was the perfect spot to play pickleball for the first time! My friend wanted to celebrate his birthday here and it was a hit!!! I tried tennis once years ago and did not enjoy it, but this was such a fun time all around. We had a 2 hour reservation and enjoyed some mimosa carafes and delicious brunch food. Service was great, attentive, and food came out fast. This was not TopGolf finger food, these were actually mouthwatering good entrees that I would definitely return for, even without playing pickleball- but that part was of course enjoyable too. The 2 hours was just long enough to give everyone time to sub out, relax and drink and eat etc. Any shorter would have been insufficient, and I think I could have enjoyed another hour or so! Definitely check this spot out if you're a pickleball fan- and even if you're not, you will enjoy the super chic decor, lighting, and scrumptious menu offerings!

Kenna S.

Yelp
From the second I started working with Caitlynn to the end of our event was perfect. They think of everything, they make the entire booking process simple through a guest portal and the made our tournament a lot of fun. I wish every place we had an event worked this smoothly!

Yelp
Food is honestly better than I expected for a pickleball place. Crispy Rice with Tuna was my favorite! Rice was crunchy but didn't get stuck in my teeth. Ahi tuna was good but the ratio of chips to toppings was lacking. Gochujang wings could be crispier but the spice was definitely there. Southern board was pretty good as well! Wouldn't buy again but it was a good snacking experience. Overall I'll come back for the food. Sorta pricey so it'll be a rare occasion.

Yelp
Day 2 of my own personal Charlotte Brewery Crawl... Although I'm not sure if this qualifies as one. They do have a nice array of beers and cocktails, but I guess they are most known for Pickleball. It's right down the street from where my daughter boxes, and I've wondered what exactly it was or even how to get in. Well, I had the perfect opportunity to figure it out, and after checking out the menu, I decided it would be worth the effort. There were several things that interested me on their menu and of course that's when I discovered they have indoor/outdoor Pickleball Courts. I've been wondering what that was too. So it was cool to discover what this craze that has taken over Charlotte. I was warmly greeted and enthusiastically helped. I told the wonderful gentleman (Khalib I think) that I would not be playing Pickleball would it still be ok to eat only? He told me of course, pick a seat and enjoy. He would send my server over right away. I ordered the corn empanada and the lamb/beef kafta (which you see I didn't get but no problem). The empanada was overpriced at $5 for one, but it was delicious. The lemongrass chicken kebab I got instead was also WAY overpriced at $21 but delicious as well. As you can see, you literally get one kebab (stellar presentation, which I guess is what you're really paying for) with 4 small bites of well marinated and seasoned chicken. Yes, I counted. That's $5/bite, y'all. It also came with a ton of fries, which again at this price point, I would have liked to have an option of rice and salad instead of fries. I think fries are an easy cop out and if that's all you're offering as a side, then a fairer price would be about $14. My server was ok, she seemed to forget about me a little bit (or maybe she was giving me lots of space) but I was so wonderfully taken care of by the two other gentleman there that they made up for her inattentivness. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience. Definitely will be back. Just will stick to apps and maybe a cocktail. Maybe squeeze in a round of Pickleball too if I can find someone to play in the geriatric league.

Yelp
We came to Rally for a corporate fundraiser for Best Buddies. I would highly recommend for large party events. The venue is clean, beautifully designed, and spacious. They have food and coffee, which I enjoyed. We worked closely with Ginny on all planning, and she was phenomenal. Khalil did the scoring for our tournament and did a wonderful job too.

Yelp
Rally is just around the block from me and has been on my list for quite a while. The place is a vibe and not just for those who are pickleball players! The interior design is beautiful. The layout is great for those who want to play and those who want to watch. They have a coffee counter, bar, and then tables for dining. The coffee counter is open 7am-3pm. The food was good and the menu offered a lot of items to choose from. I opted for a matcha latte and which was pretty average. The fries were my favorite part of the meal quite honestly! The hamburger was nicely seasoned and the sauce was tasty. I definitely look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Came for a work function in the middle of the week. The private room we booked is huge but the screens for projecting suck. They are 4 giant TV's connected but some lean down and cut off the screen. For the cost, I projector or one giant screen should be available. Food was okay. I wouldn't order the taco bar again. Instead opt for the menu items. Also we had to ask for drinks. Nothing came with the buffet, not even water. Courts are very well positioned and the game is fun indoors in the AC. My only suggestion is to have higher nets so ball retrieval for newbies is easier and doesn't bother other courts.

Korilynne H.

Yelp
Drinks and food are consistently great, and the servers are always wonderful--super friendly and attentive! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the music. The first few times we visited, the playlist really enhanced the vibe. Lately, though, it's been more of a downer and takes away from the energy of the place. A more upbeat mix would definitely help bring the atmosphere back to life.

Yelp
Disappointed. I attended the pickleball "lessons" for beginners. An hour lesson was more like less than 30 minutes of actual court/play time. If I sign up and pay for an hour lesson, I expect to be on the court for the full hour and actually learning. At the beginning, we got a brief 2 minute chat about the rules etc. and then were pretty much left on our own... trying to remember all of the confusing rules, placement of players, score keeping etc? There was also much down time where we weren't playing at all and waiting for our next turn, even though there was another court open and available. It seems that they overbooked the amount of attendees for $$$ profit. Afterwards I ordered some food. I bit into the meat and got a mouthful of non edible rubbery grizzle --- So disgusting. Cutting corners with cheap, crappy meat is not OK.

Yelp
Disappointed.... I attended the pickleball "lessons" for beginners. An hour lesson was more like 30 minutes of rotating court time, trying to guess our way through what to do on our own. At the beginning, we got a brief chat about the rules etc. and then were expected to remember all of the confusing rules, placement of players, score keeping etc??? There was also much down time where we weren't playing at all and waiting in line for our next turn, even though there was another court available. The "teacher" mostly sat in a far corner and chatted with friends, turned away from the courts, not paying attention to the players. Afterwards I ordered some food. Chicken and shrimp tacos were good. I bit into the beef taco and got a mouthful of non edible rubbery grizzle ... So disgusting. Cutting corners with cheap, crappy meat is a NO.

Yelp
THIS IS SUCH A COOL SPACE. On top of there being both indoor and outdoor courts that are well stocked and maintained, the vibes are immaculate with beautiful decor, cozy couches and cabanas and stylish merch. (I got a limited edition Rally Fest tee) The food is also very tasty and well done. I came here for the pickleball but would come if I just wanted to have a bite and a snack and some live entertainment while others played. Booking online wasnt super user friendly and sort of expensive at $50/hour but we lucked out that it was very slow and could play for longer with no wait or getting booted right at the hour. I love that they consistently solicit local artist work and its a queer friendly space seeing as the founders are gay. If I lived in Charlotte Id be here all the time.
google avatar

Ashleigh O.

Yelp
Such a cute venue with beautiful artwork and vibrant colors, perfect for playing pickleball on both indoor and outdoor courts. I love that there are areas to play and also spots to chill and socialize with food and drinks. I tried the spicy margarita and really enjoyed it--spicier than expected but in a good way. The bar service inside was a bit slow, and I had to skip a round or two waiting for my order, so I'd recommend ordering from the servers who come outside periodically. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely be back for free play. I didn't get to try the food this visit, but I'm looking forward to sampling some next time!
google avatar

Nate K.

Yelp
I'm used to an athletic venue like a bowling alley or sports stadium having lousy food. Not this place! The pizza I was served was absolutely delicious, dynamyte! I got their version of a margarita. I'd go out of my way to eat at this Pickleball venue just for the quality of food served. Wow, bravo! Great service too.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times so far, and it's an awesome pickleball / social spot in lower south end! It's huge and has indoor and outdoor courts, as well as a regular indoor dining area. A full drink and food menu too. Their food and drinks are delicious, I recommend the chicken tacos or the Korean bbq wings. For pickleball, you can reserve a court for around $120-150 and can have up to 8 people there. You get your own dedicated server and seating area which is nice. You can also sign up for "king of the court" for $8 and play at least twice, obviously staying on if you win. A great way to meet other pickleballers! The staff are great - super friendly and all great at pickleball. Highly recommend checking out this new spot! A great way for any group of friends to hang out, even if they don't play pickleball.

Yelp
Great vibe. We were in town for a conference and came here for an event on Wednesday. We missed the pickleball session sadly but were on time for the mixology class. The food was really great. Seems to be a very popular spot for locals.

Yelp
Took my MIL here for her 65th bday and it was a BLAST. It's worth the price. The food is also very good. The ribs of corn are to die for! Can't wait to come back again.
google avatar

Madison H.

Yelp
Such a fun place! Play inside or outside. The food and drinks are great too! There's also a coffee bar with lots of great options. Always a great vibe with music playing. Can play corn hole, ping pong too, or just hang out too!
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
We randomly ended up here and it was so fun! You don't have to play pickleball to come here - you could also study/work/hang with friends. There's tons of seating, a great menu, coffee & a full bar You can rent a pickle ball court for increments of 30 min and the supply you with rackets & balls. We had no idea show to play but had so much fun anyway We enjoyed the fries w dipping sauce, cocktails, BLT sandwich, and tuna wonton nachos

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and it was amazing. It's perfect for a group of friends on a sunny and or rainy day that want to play pickleball. Great food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Everything you need to play pickleball is included with your reservation. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
Loved it! Drinks were great, relaxing atmosphere, equipment included in your reservation. A bit expensive for an all the time venue, but definitely worth it for a fun day out!

Yelp
Such a fun addition to the Lower Southend area! I went for lunch during the week and sat at the bar. There was nobody in there eating but all the indoor pickleball courts were filled. They also have outdoor courts but it was a hot summer day and nobody was outside. I have heard the pickle ball is a tad expensive. But it is a fun environment with surprisingly good food and drinks. I ordered the grilled pita salad for $15. It was a huge portion, definitely was not able to eat it all. It was also shockingly spicy. Probably from the Calabrian chili but it was a lot hotter than I thought. The service was great! Whenever we were low on drinks there was someone there to ask if we needed anything. They had a good mix of cocktails, wine, beer and also non-alcoholic drinks. Definitely a spot I want to return to, especially to play pickleball. There's not another spot like it around.
google avatar

Zak H.

Yelp
Sooooo gooood! Food is on point with so much variety! Courts a perfect, bags are a bit tight, but overall atmosphere is so well done...every detail. Friendly staff. Great job

Yelp
The food was surprisingly good for a pickle ball place , the esthetic is so nice. We stopped for lunch on a rainy day and it was full of people playing on the court while we enjoyed our lunch. The kabobs were really good .. ask for the sumac ranch for the fries was a perfect addition. For the pizza I recommend asking for the zaatar chili flakes that are made by their chef was a great addition for a little bit of spice. Rice cakes we my favorite the perfect little bites - come with about 6 pieces. Service - you don't have a personal server it's all made to order.. but a server gives you choice to help you with the ordering process. Overall was a perfect little lunch spot .. a very different experience than just a normal restaurant.

Yelp
We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon to grab a bite to eat. Cool vibe w a lot of indoor and outdoor places to grab a drink and food. After watching some pickleball outside w ordered a smash burger and grilled chicken sandwich. The burger was excellent, fries were also very good. Rally sauce for both is yummy. They have a resturant, bar, cafe, and cool little sitting areas where you can watch pickleball and just hang out on comfortable furniture. There was a young adult singles event going on outside which was pretty cool as well. Play pickleball, socialize and make some new friends. I will add that the bathrooms were spotless
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Honestly, my husband and I only dropped in on this place as we were making time to go to the escape room that is across the street from this place. We decided to grab a drink before our session and went here and sat at the bar. Now we had no clue what this place was and surprisingly found out that it is a Pickle Ball bar/restaurant place. I had never heard of it and never thought that had a location that was strictly for it. It was awesome and cool, though. It was not busy on Saturday night. The bartender was super nice and fast. They have a kitchen as well where a lot of people are eating and drinking wine after a quick game. They have about 4 courts inside and 2 outside. You basically put your name down on a time slot, and when it comes to your time, you go out and enjoy a nice game of pickleball for a long time as you paid for. The inside was decorated very green with nude colors and plants everywhere. Felt more of a high-end bar rather than casual. If you're in the area, I would recommend checking them out. If you're into Pickleball and didn't know this place existed, well now you do!
google avatar

Bonnie H.

Yelp
Super fun place for drinks and play but there were food items that were overly salty... fries, pizza, burger... it tasted like licking a salt stone before every bite.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Service was excellent! Food was also wonderful! Awesome place to spend a day as a family. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I finally visited Rally this past Tuesday for their Jamboree Day! I've been waiting for months and been hearing all about this new trending sport. Rally is massive and such a beautiful place, even their bathrooms are huge and beautiful. They do have a parking lot but it was full when I pulled in but thankfully, there is plenty of free street parking nearby. My friends and I paid $10 for their special event which included a 15 min session of Pickleball rules and playtime. The staff were friendly and I'll need to come back soon to play a full game of Pickleball. The space also has corn hole, ping pong, and other activities, which was great while we waited for our session to start. I did not get a chance to try the food but I saw they had a coffee bar and pizza. There is also a huge bar and I love how they offer non-alcoholic options on the menu! Even if you're not playing Pickleball, this would be great spot to socialize and spend time with friends. I briefly scoped their website and there is a group on the Geneva app where people can meet others wanting to play Pickleball. You can also reserve courts on an app called Playbypoint. I believe I saw an hour session at peak time is about $100 so it'll be great to find 3 other friends to join. Hope to visit soon and love this new addition to Charlotte!

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical about the growing pickleball trend. Seems like this sport took the country by storm overnight when to me it just seemed like a lazier version of tennis. Well not after having played a few times I can see why people like it. It's fun and fairly beginner friendly! Luckily with this oppressively hot summer we've been having there is a place nearby to play indoors. I first came here for a birthday party where we booked a court for an hour and most recently I booked an hour with some friends on a Sunday. For $24 per person to play inside I find that the pricing is reasonable. While you are playing there is also a server who comes to bring drinks or food if you are feeling peckish. I have not tried the food but their pizzas look delicious so I hope to have one soon. I will say from a playing standpoint the one thing they could do to improve the experience is add nets in between the courts. Each indoor court is directly next to another one and they will typically be full of other people playing. With no barrier the result is that balls are frequently flying between the courts disrupting peoples games. I think having nets in between could really cut down on this so there would be fewer interruptions and awkward apologies. Overall if you're curious about pickleball I recommend starting here. Even if the game isn't to your liking they have a large bar and a good looking food menu so you wont be disappointed you came.

Yelp
I was very impressed by this place. Has such a fun country club vibe. The staff was friendly and also came to check on us during our time on the court. Also the food was really good. We had the tuna tacos and the Eleanor pizza. Definitely a fun activity to do when visiting!

David R.

Yelp
Twice my girlfriend and I signed up for Advance pickleball and the level of play was not good. Not a good place for competitive Pickleball. We signed up for the Rally shuffle with the Pro Rosie who was extremely disorganized and disinterested and level of play was not good either.

Yelp
Visited this past weekend and went through a couple hurdles to finally get our order right. This place operates with the QR ordering system that's supposed to be seamless but there's a obvious disconnect between the application and the server. It should've never taken over 22 minutes for fries and forgetting my coke took and extra 12 minutes. I did visit on a busy weekend so I get it. I went with friends, and they seemed to have loved the cocktails and the tacos were a1. Ambiance was posh and nice to meet with some coworkers.

Aj B.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! Great environment for pickleball novices or pros. Best to reserve a court but walk-ups sometimes available depending on busyness. The food was phenomenal. Coffee is stellar. There are several lounge areas to rest and get a drink before or after you play. You can also just eat, grab a cocktail, and spectate. :)

Stephie N.

Yelp
Way over priced. They were very adamant about no kids under 10 and then there was a 2 year old running around playing and no one said a thing. Looked like a pros kid. But if you're gonna have rules- stick to them. NOT just rules for people who are paying WAY too much to be th

Synovia B.

Yelp
Beautiful space, all age friendly, food was amazing. Went with a few friends who were all knew to the sport and everyone had a good time

Min P.

Yelp
Court side is very casual, but the adjacent building is great. Great bartender, good drinks and tasty food. Nice to find a place that doesn't just have burgers & fried chicken for change!!

Denise T.

Yelp
We had a small holiday gathering at Rally last night. We came for the atmosphere and good snd had a delightful time. Nory and the team did a fantastic job serving us, keeping the tabs straight and made sure we each felt attended to and happy. We loved the pizzas, fries and the wings. The preparation of the kabobs was a show stopper. We were so engrossed into having a great time that we didn't take pics. But I will plan to go back so I think that says a lot.

Gigi N.

Yelp
one of our favorite sunday activities, we'll always come back again and again. good food though a bit pricey. clean and well maintained. staff is nice and helpful!

Jalyn E.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday celebration and Janise the bartender was amazing! She met every need we had and the drinks were great! Norry had great energy and was very attentive to our requests. Will definitely be back!
