I shopped at Ralph's located at 6290 E. Pacific Coast Hwy. Long Beach on Tuesday 2/22/22 4:13 pm was my check out time. I also shopped there on Monday the 21st. On both occasions, I was overcharged on a produce and a weighable meat item. Their ad stated red, yellow and orange bell peppers were .87 cents with a digital coupon and shrimp was 5.27 a # also with digital coupon. Neither coupon was in the system and the peppers were charged at 1.49 each. Since the ad only ran through yesterday, I am guessing there were many customers overcharged on their purchases of those items. As a former grocery store employee in cashiering, management and data input of pricing, I know Weights and Measures used to be a big deal for pricing discrepancies. I do not know if that is the case but a lot of customers are being overcharged. When I called the produce workers attention to the pepper he said, "OK, I'll let the front know". LAST DAY OF THE AD!
I proceeded to the checkout, the cashier was Branden B. What a charmer! His demeaner was surly from the start, as if he'd rather be anywhere other than taking money from customer for their Ralph's purchases. The woman in front of me had two of the said bell peppers and when they rang up at regular price, she called it to his attention. He barked at her that "only the green peppers are .99!) When I tried to advise him otherwise (BTW, they ad with said pictures was on direct view from the entry door and there was a giant end cap with the peppers with an equally giant sign advertising their price.) Branden stormed back and informed her that "only the green peppers are on sale!" She left without the peppers and he angerly stuff them under the check stand. He used the same attitude with me and as a Ralph's shopper for over 30 years (check my dollar amount of purchases over the years), I have decided to drive a little further and shop at another competitor.
P.S. As I passed his register on my way out, he was speaking tersely and impatiently to an elderly woman who was putting her payment card in backwards. Shame on Ralph's for a total lack of customer service training!
P.P.S. I tried on three different occasions at three different times to contact a store director but the phone rang each time for several minutes and was never answered.
