The Fight to Use Food Stamps for Restaurant Food | Eater

"A customer attempting to buy the salmon lunch special at a supermarket was refused because the county lacked a Restaurant Meals Program; staff said they could only sell raw fish and not cooked or prepared items, which left someone living without a kitchen unable to buy a hot meal and feeling humiliated." - Cassie Chew

Under new ownership. They're getting the hang of things but it's pretty expensive. Being the only "supermarket" in town their prices are pretty high. This business has been her for ages, if they dropped their prices and listen to the town folks on "wants & needs" I bet they could have a really positive and blooming place. But in all reality, I go here because of the convenience, not because I want too. Unfortunately. They have updated a lot here so I'm hoping it's just cause they're relatively new and trying to update that their prices are so high.

I love this place, I’ve only been here once, but nothing but good vibes and friendly service from the second you walk in. What blew me away the most was the fact that they have such a good selection for a small grocery store, not what I expected when I looked at the building from the outside. Great selection of meat, cereal, drinks, you name it. Very clean and very organized, doubt I would ever go to a big grocery store if I lived near this place!

Google

I absolutely love this convenience store which is located in Charlestown where I live. I enjoy all of the people who I have encountered throughout the 10 years that I have lived in this town and the upgrades that have been made by the new owners are very nice!!!

Google
Ralphs is a small, country market, but has a good selection of products, for its size. It's a convenient option when you don't want the hassle of a bigger store like a shaws or hannafords. I enjoy doing occasional shopping here.

Google
Ralph's distinguishes itself from other stores with its high-quality meats and deli. For example, meat specials like marinated chicken or seasoned hamburgers/steak are delicious meals to cook with most of the prep already done! The variety and quality of produce is fantastic and the employees are always pleasant.

Been going since childhood. New ownership after eons apparently. They keep a lot of it same as always, but with a few updated brands perhaps. Great little deli, fresh made sammiches, excellent butcher! Perfect for townies and passers thru. All of what you'd expect from a small full range grocery.

Yelp
Went looking for a salad or sandwich and although there is a deli there were neither fresh options there. I went next door to CHOP and they had what i needed.

Yelp
this use to be a nice place to shop. Once it got sold they pushed the prices up very high. man of the items are actually cheaper at a supermarket than here. the help always seems stressed out. I use to go here but i wouldn't anymore.

Yelp
Very nice people work there. Excellent selection of sodas, general small grocery store type stuff - deli counter with meats to slice, salads. Meat section, fresh produce. Household necessities.

Yelp
Ralph's Supermarket is the hometown supermarket for Charlestown, centrally located in the center of town. This Ralph's is not affiliated with the large and popular Ralphs Supermarket chain in Southern California, owned by Kroger. This supermarket is smaller than a traditional supermarket carrying the basics including the Shurfine store brand. The store aisles are short. They carry a limited selection of several items including the produce and some frozen foods. I did not see the Banquet Frozen Dinners here, though they do carry Banquet Chicken. There's also a deli and bakery in back The regular shelf prices here are higher than the bigger stores miles away. The ramen noodles were 4 for $1 here, but I could get for 6 for $1 at the Market Basket near my home. However, Ralph's does offer some pretty good weekly specials. The Betty Crocker Brownie Mix was 99 cents a box, which I was a great deal and I stocked up for my granny who swears by Betty Crocker Brownie Mix. No other brand will cut it including Pillsbury and Duncan Hines. She did have a sh-t fit when we bought the Pillsbury brand, a while ago. I also picked up a whole single layer frosted carrot cake was $5.99 too, which was pretty good. Easy in-easy out! HOURS: Mon-Sat: 8AM-8PM; Sun: 6AM-6PM
