"When he opened Rama Jama’s in fall 1996, owner Gary Lewis quickly realized that owning a greasy spoon literally in the shadow of Bryant-Denny Stadium was a lot different from running any other food business. Drawing its name from the football chant “Rammer Jammer, Yellow Hammer,” the restaurant is covered in Alabama memorabilia, including artifacts from Bryant-Denny Stadium, such as a seat from the upper bowl, an orange flag removed from a construction site near the stadium (there can’t be any orange near BDS), and autographs from Alabama legends. The menu also takes inspiration from UA, including the 18-National Champ Burger, named after the AU football program’s 18 national titles, and the SEC Champ breakfast. A red neon sign outside lights up when the burgers start flipping." - Jen Bowman

Excellent burger! I got a double patty with fries! One of the best burgers I’ve had in a long while. The bun is small and soft (perfect)! Sits in the shadows of Bryant-Denny Stadium. I can only imagine how slammed this place has to be on a game day! 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗱𝗲

Google
This is a hallmark. If you come to T Town this is a must eat must see. Absolutely amazing memorabilia the food and atmosphere is off the chain. So many people come there it's that amazing and delicious.

Google
Small hamburger place in the shadow of Bryant-Denny stadium. Hamburgers, hot dogs, variety of breakfast foods. Very interesting atmosphere and decor. Food was just average. Average cheese burger and average crinkle cut fries.

Sean K

Google
A classic spot that captures the spirit of college football. The walls are covered in Crimson Tide memorabilia, making it a must-visit for any Bama fan. The SEC Champ breakfast is a standout—hearty, delicious, and the perfect way to start your day. With generous portions and that home-cooked Southern flavor, it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite. Whether you’re gearing up for game day or just looking for a great meal, Rama Jama’s delivers every time. Roll Tide!

Google
Roaches actively walking throughout restaurant Roof leaks at several spots that have not been fixed in years Entire restaurant is overly dirty

Google
Kinda nostalgic to be in the shadow of Bryant Denny. We had breakfast food for brunch which is always a plus. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The staff was great and the memorabilia was cool. Probably really cool on game days.

Piratepress

Google
This is the place to go if you're a BAMA fan as you could spend hours here looking at all the memorabilia. Food was very good, with my wife raving about the Fried Green Tomato sandwich and the Peach Pie which she said was even better than the one at The Varsity in Atlanta. Just be sure to get there early for a parking spot and a seat!

Glen “Glenpeach” Peach

Google
Very old place got a fountain drink but would not use the machine had to instruct the ladies that work there that needed to clean the machine where I seen mold clearly everywhere most on the ice dispenser they cleaned it but I'm very scared about things like that food is okay I would come back for the burger may try something else ? I'm disappointed but I know its convenient and a old place so

Capitán D.

Yelp
There for breakfast. The chicken biscuit was very good. Grits were very good. The prices were very good. All good. The $16 2-for-1 bottles of mimosa all day (including breakfast) is over the top. They are the heart of the Crimson Tide experience. When in Tuscaloosa it is worth the trip located right outside Bryant-Denny Stadium. May not be recommended on game day.

Christopher T.

Yelp
It's a cult classic in Alabama lure. It's a great burger joint next to the Stadium and right off campus. Packed on game day with a line out the door, A great lunch spot during the week when passing thru or visiting the U of A. Parking can be challenging on busy days. While you wait one can take a gander at all the old media memorabilia and Alabama Football!

Shannon F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service. Love their breakfast! Great local spot and a must try for visitors for sure!!!

John K.

Yelp
Worst ever place .. during game day.. stay away. Waste of time and money .. came for breakfast but got a burger .. expected bad but this hell.

Michelle C.

Yelp
So I know this place is iconic for the location and great memorabilia of UA sports icons but the food and service is definitely not iconic. We waited in line for over a half hour due to their antiquated ordered system of hand writing the orders to the cooks but then waited over a half hour for our simple egg breakfasts to be delivered. When delivered only half of our table got their orders. After waiting another 10 minutes we checked in and found out they forgot about our remaining 2 orders. Waited 10 more minutes to have two plates delivered that were completely wrong and cold. The manager could care less. There expediting system needs some updating to give tables numbers instead of making the workers call out names and waste more time wandering around the place trying to locate who belongs to the meals. Been there done that 3x won't be back.

Callie J.

Yelp
Sorry, but I wasn't impressed at all. The Hamburger was dry, the bun was dry and the fries were over fried. I know it was a game day, but with lines out the door from morning to sundown, I expected it to be fantastic. Maybe just an off day.

Brooke E.

Yelp
A Tuscaloosa staple! Enjoy breakfast here on game-days! Rama Jama's is always busy but definitely worth the wait!!

Mike N.

Yelp
Witnessed just awful behavior from the owner and a few employees....nothing against me personally. Was just really disappointed how a mom and small kid were treated, the mom needed a hand and a lady from the staff should be ashamed of herself(unrelated to me). If I was the owner, fired on the spot no matter how long she has been there. Also very disappointed how the owner talked to and treated a few others. Very disrespectful and made everyone around uncomfortable...and no the people were not drunk. Really sad to see. I'll never go back. Also the food is not good and was cold.

Rick V.

Yelp
Tough to rate, the ambiance and the University of Alabama history was cool at this restaurant. The food was good and they specialize in breakfast and mimosas. Would love to come here when they weren't busy as the wait was close to 2 hours to wait in line and then get our food.

Kevin H.

Yelp
Great Breakfast on Gameday! I've been eating here for decades. Really enjoyed the Alabama memorabilia. Kind, helpful staff.

Michael J.

Yelp
Iconic restaurant in a great location. Food and service was great. Highly recommended.

Kelsey C.

Yelp
This place is always wonderful and a very cool place if you are into sports memorabilia involving Alabama football. The food is always wonderful and comes out quickly with fantastic service! You can't beat the prices and getting to chat with the owner he might even show off his natty rings.

Kimberly F.

Yelp
Expected so much from this restaurant.which is a Tuscaloosa staple.our first time dining here and it was a major disappointment.service was horrible.we walked in greeted the staff and they spoke back still faced and try.it was as if we were bothering them by trying to support their business.excuse us for wanting spend some of our hard earned money there.there wasn't one thing that was special about this place the onion rings and fried green tomatoes were hard and tasted like old greece.and the burgers were awful the only thing we taste was onions and condiments.i rarely give bad reviews but I just have to say that this place was a joke

Austin L.

Yelp
This isn't Rama Jama's anymore. What I had today was pitiful. Food didn't taste freshly made, surprisingly small portions. Service was fine. Unfortunately, they have been on this decline for a while. (Breakfast BTW)

Natalie Z.

Yelp
So if you're looking for a spot near the stadium, this is it. You could walk right outside and there it is in all of its glory. So, the food...we are super basic and got breakfast. It did not disappoint. I promise you, it is awesome. It's a little small, but so cute! There is so much memorabilia in the space that if you are a die hard fan like my boyfriend then you'll be in awe the entire time! It was cute. It was good. Soooo amazing. GO! But go like early so you don't have to wait in line for forever.

Rhett B.

Yelp
In the shadow of Bryant-denny Stadium sits this dinner. There is so much random Alabama memorabilia in here. Some of my favorites include a barstool from Joe Namath's restaurant, Nico Johnson's pads, and an orange and white flag, that should never be seen in Tuscaloosa, flying from a crane while renovating the stadium. It is always packed on Gameday but on a Tuesday, there was hardly anyone here. I had a burger with chili, crinkle cut fries, and Reese's milkshake. The milkshake was the star of the meal. It is made from real ice cream and I had them make it with chocolate. If I ever come back, that is what I am getting. The burger was a good ole fashioned burger. The buns were toasted and buttery. The patty was hand-made and fresh. The chili had a BBQ base to it. The fries were your average crinkle cut. Unfortunately, they serve that abomination known as Gold Peak Sweet Tea and not freshly brewed. This is a place to visit for the milkshake and the burger was pretty good. It was also pretty cheap. But the highlight of Rama Jama's is the random Alabama memorabilia everywhere. Definitely a place to visit if you are a Bama fan.

Brittany M.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Biscuits are amazing! Would rate 5 stars but you cant enjoy your food because theres so many flies

Deanna C.

Yelp
We were really hungry and saw that this place had good ratings. It was 4 miles off of the map but well worth the drive. This restaurant literally sits next to the University of Alabama stadium. We tried the #1 grits, eggs and meat and #3 pancakes eggs and meat and all of it was really good.

Lily C.

Yelp
Hole in the wall but super fun atmosphere. We went during spring break and were able to get a table and food fairly quickly. Very old school restaurant, small menu but everything was delicious.

Jess R.

Yelp
Incredible! Stopped by Tuscaloosa to see the stadium and had to stop here! The cheeseburgers were delicious! Definitely have to get everything on it! Glad we stopped in!!

Scott J.

Yelp
Nice local staple!! Food was great and atmosphere is pretty amazing! Couldn't imagine this place on game day!

Michelle S.

Yelp
Stopped at Rama Jama's on a recent tour of UA and so glad we did! I had a cheeseburger and an order of fried green tomatoes...both were great!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun with every inch of the place covered in Crimson Tide memorabilia...walls, ceilings, bathroom...lol. Even better than the food and the memorabilia was how welcoming the place is. How often are you greeted by the owner of a restaurant who then sits down and draws you a map of the campus and explains places you need to visit? We had a great chat with the owner, Michael and we'll definitely be back to the Rama Jama!!

Lisa C.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and memorabilia! Food is average. Employees are super rude. Have eaten there twice now and will not return.

Andy B.

Yelp
Right at the foot of Bryant-Denny! Old as dirt itself! Food for the fans and friendlies alike! Stopped through T-Town otw to Nashville and had to hit up Rama Jama's! We had the RJ Dog, which is a bacon wrapped dog in the bun + fixins but I requested topped with coleslaw too. Scrumptious! My son had the Fried Green Tomato BLT - again, Yummy! Priced for even the lightest of pocket books and full of history! Get Yo' Grub On at Rama Jama's!

Bri R.

Yelp
Terrific breakfast for our entire group consisting of four parents and three kids under 8. Cool to be able to experience this legendary spot together. Plenty of character and history. Would love to go back without the kids for mimosa special.

Chris W.

Yelp
It was exactly what it appears to be a local , fun , spot . Serving concession stand style food and breakfast. Had the burger it was good. Would recommend if you are in the area

J p.

Yelp
The food is great for a small dinner. The National championship blt is huge. The service is so friendly. The restaurant will always make you say ROLL TIDE!!! The decor is classic ALABAMA!

Madeline H.

Yelp
Good food and good prices ! Very crowded but normal for a saturday morning. Food came out fairly quickly. I did like that instead of toast they can give pancakes as a substitute.

LaDontae W.

Yelp
Atmosphere is beautiful and I'm not even a bama fan lol. Service is top notch friendly brought my wife and son we enjoyed ourselves. Food was great 10/10 highly recommend.

Allen T.

Yelp
Their Friday happy hour is nothing to sleep on! Get your 2 dollar burger and beer. The burgers I got were juicy, great portion size and fresh condiments. I would love if they gave extra incentive to students to earn maybe a free piece of bacon or cheese on their 2 dollar burger. For example, "answer some Bama trivia and we'll throw in a small thing of fries or bacon on your order."

Scott H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and friendly staff brings the customers to the yard... I experienced this place on a Saturday mid day. I was a great one even though I bleed TN orange. It is within ear shot of Bryant Denny Stadium. Which is home of the Tide. I went with the intention of having breakfast but decided to have lunch instead. I got a double cheeseburger and an Oreo shake. The burger was delicious. Homemade. The shake was so thick I had to let it melt before drinking it. Overall I would go back and would recommend it to travelers. Enjoy.

Luke N.

Yelp
This spot has a unique atmosphere, but was very filthy. The restrooms were poor kept and my sister found a fly on her burger and when I presented the issue to the manager he seemed upset with me and didn't even acknowledge the matter in a timely manner. The kitchen staff was even giving me this confusing look when it wasn't even I who made the burger. Poor customer service and 1 star for cleanliness. Won't eat here again. Luke

Todd B.

Yelp
This might be blasphemous as an Auburn fan- but I really dug Rama Jama! Even if you are not a Tide fan you can still appreciate the love that is on display for the team. Memorabilia covers every square inch. The food is the same quality as any other dive, but I think for the atmosphere and novelty alone is worth the visit. War Eagle!

Ranita S.

Yelp
So the food here is very ordinary but this is the most Tuscaloosa and UA place you'll ever eat at. It's like right there next to the stadium. Food won't be memorable but the place will. I hear the breakfast is good. Anyways drop by and enjoy all the memorabilia and location if you're an Alabama football fan.

Sarah T.

Yelp
UA campus icon!! The best staff & the food is always good. Love Thursday night crawfish in the spring.

Steven H.

Yelp
First time at Rama Jama's. Service was impeccable and the food was great. Thank you Michael for making us feel welcomed.

John C.

Yelp
It's sad to see this place going downhill since the ownership change. Went for breakfast this morning and it took over an hour to get just part of my meal. Sad part is mine wasn't the only one taking this long, the entire front dining area going through the same thing. The young staff stared delivering food to orders to people that had been there a fraction of the time with not once checking on the customers that had been sitting there all that time. I saw the former owner hustling about to get whatever the issue was corrected with no sight of the new owner anywhere. Sad that Gary is having to watch what he built with blood, sweat and tears over the years be destroyed.

Nina N.

Yelp
It's graduation weekend so i told my family the hype of this place and when we ordered we were told it's a 20 minute wait. We decided we would wait and here we are still waiting a WHOLE HOUR later as if we're not starving or have better things to be doing. The food is also average to be honest. Don't waste your time. They don't prioritize orders.

Matthew K.

Yelp
Absolutely despicable. Took 2 hours for 30$ of food. Don't recommend wish I could give it 0 stars.

Ray S.

Yelp
Got a burger, fries, and a drink. 15 bucks. Cold fries, mediocre burger. dirty inside, not worth it unless you're drunk and Waffle House is packed or a tourist. Only good thing is it's right next to the stadium, but it's worth the 5 min walk to Buffalo Phil's instead honestly.

Lindsay H.

Yelp
I never do this.. but we had a large order that was messed up for my business. The cashier was extremely rude and unhelpful. Customer service is the reason I give a one star review.

Erin M.

Yelp
Love my tide but not too big on Rama's. My burger was kind of dry. I may be a Bama fan but I'm from the boot and this wouldn't even cut it in my hometown. The price was good and they have cherry coke :) lots of Bama pictures and such around the place which is pretty cool to look at but it does hide the dirt. Enjoyed but would skip on my next visit.

Parker S.

Yelp
Has the feel of a classic diner and has tons of Alabama memorabilia. My pancakes were perfectly light and fluffy and cheap as well, but I do wish you could get chocolate chips, pecans, or something in them. Also it is a little tight inside with such a small building, but its an icon/staple in town so you just have to deal with that.

Tracy P.

Yelp
Pretty good little place to grab a bite. Lots of nostalgia. Burgers are good fried green tomatoes okay. It's more about the scene than the food. Outdoor seating is a nice option

Christopher P.

Yelp
Service top notch! Just like you're family, incredible amount of crimson tide memorabilia. National Championship BLT or Burger are phenomenal. Legend has it that one guy ate both and a milkshake. Increíble breakfast as well. Rumor has it that Nick Saban's long lost twin is the owner.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
What a fun breakfast place to hang out at on the weekends! It's family and dog friendly, too! The staff are college-aged and they all wear different variations of Bama t-shirts, which is pretty cool. The chicken biscuit was so delicious -- crispy and buttery! However the portions were pretty tiny, so I would recommend ordering more than usual if you're getting breakfast here. The eggs were scrambled to perfection and the bacon had lots of flavor! There's Alabama memorabilia all around the diner, which really shows how much support the community has for the school.

Joe A.

Yelp
Waited 45 minutes for two burnt orders of onion rings and two cheese burgers all the way (a piece of lettuce and one slice of onion ) isnt all the way. When asked for refills of coke, we were met with an attitude.....lost a customer

Brianna S.

Yelp
I love it here. The food is amazing, prices are even better. The service is quick and friendly. Overall, you can never go wrong eating here!

Randy F.

Yelp
If you're in the area you have to go here! We were visiting the University of Alabama and asked one of the locals for a place to eat and they suggested Rama Jama. I'm so glad that we took them up on their suggestion. Walking up to the restaurant, you know you're in for a treat as it's small and quaint; right next to the stadium. It's not a big place and that's ok by me. I asked the question, "if I was only going to be here once in my life, what would I get?" Not a single employee hesitated to point right at the National Championship BLT! OMG! Best bacon sandwich on the planet. 17 strips of thick bacon, one for each national championship. In addition, we got the corn nuggests and onion rings. Both were amazing! Service...excellent as well. Super friendly staff and great to chat with. ...last but not least, don't forget the strawberry shake. Oh how I wish I lived closer. :-D

Kathryn M.

Yelp
My absolute favorite breakfast in town. Couldn't have a friendlier staff! The food is always amazing and so is the atmosphere!
