Ramen Arashi expands to Spring Valley from Canada - Eater Vegas

"A small, Canadian ramen restaurant has made the long expansion from Alberta and with zero fanfare is now serving a collection of authentic dishes in Spring Valley. Ramen Arashi has been operating on the second floor of a Banff shopping mall for less than a year, but has received multiple accolades as an unexpected 'hidden gem.' In Las Vegas, the casual, minimally designed space replaces Apache Grill’s burgers and gyros at the Montage Retail Shopping Center, close to the intersection of Peace Way and Fort Apache Road, nestling in as a new neighbor to The Juice Standard. On the menu, a number of choices imported from the north, including the black tantan men dish created with black sesame and pork, tonkotsu ramen prepared with pork belly, a version of miso ramen, and the house specialty, Arashi tantan men, featuring porky belly chashu, egg, spinach, and nori. Current sides dishes include chicken karaage and takoyaki octopus snacks." - Bradley Martin

Google
I got the special tonkotsu ramen very delicious and very authentic Japanese ramen taste!! The chashu is lightly torched, got the flame-boil taste and adding a bit of a crunch, it's so good, the best I've had. The appetizers and other items are also very tasty. Everything was priced just right.

Google
I am so happy I found this delicious ramen place in Las Vegas!! All the dishes are authentic Japanese’s ramen flavor. The owner is Japanese and the flavor or I should say the soup is on point!! I had tan tan ramen and my husband had Tonkotu and they are both delicious! We also came back and had shoyu ramen too and arghh so good! Please stay open forever so I don’t have to drive all the way to china town! I feel that this place is good as Monta! We will be back for more!

Google
Quick stop for Ramen after a night of dancing hula. Service was great and fast. Ordered the Miso Ramen and the broth was delicious; thick and creamy. I order to go and the soup was packed separately which is great. Restaurants usually do that. Cute quaint spot and I would definitely return as often as I can.

Google
The Ramin here is GREAT! The noodles and soup have a lot of flavor. The fried octopus appetizer is delicious and the fried rice had a wonderful little bite to it. We will be back. The only reason that I gave them a 4 stars is there is no fountain drinks only canned. Stop in and have some wonderful Japanese food.

Google
I take my two year old on dad daughter dates for ramen, as my wife doesn't like ramen. I’ve gone to several ramen and soup noodles, and Ramen Arashi is probably one of my new favorites! Perfect service with many smiling employees. And the thing that I loved the most was the personal kids plate and bowl, made it feel like part of the family dinner.

Google
Came here during lunch hour, was surprised it wasn't busy but was excited that I didn't have to wait to try because the reviews and personal recommendations for high. Many of the ramen specials include pork based broth or pork itself however it tasted pretty great and clean considering. Also the miso special is really great as well. A bit of advice, order yourself a side of extra noodles they bring it fresh halfway through your meal so when you have leftover broth, you have an extra bowl of noodles to eat with it 👌 two ramen specials with the side of noodles and an appetizer will run you under 30 bucks for lunch, you can't beat it!

Google
5 star if it was just for hospitality! Saturday night 6 pm was not busy at all, waiters were attentive and the chefs very energetic. As soon as I entered the restaurant the aroma of torched/seared chashu pork was very appetizing. Unfortunately the food was just average. I got their signature Tonkotsu Special with the default toppings. Toppings included a whopping 4 pieces of chashu pork, 1 whole egg, scallion, takana, roasted garlic chips, and red ginger. Pork was very flaky and fell apart very easily with not too much flavor. Soup was pretty close to what you may be able to get from any good instant noodle powder soup packs. Gyoza was definitely not homemade and tasted a little spoiled; something factory made and it either wasn't cooked thoroughly or kept defrosted for too long before cooking. Tl;dr very good vibes with Japanese staff but very average ramen.

Google
Ramen Arashi has a very good ramen. As I am trying to eat mostly vegan, they don't have a vegetable ramen but you can get edamame several salads and you can make fried rice with no meat or eggs. Great food good prices. And you can get packed on the weekends! Overall a good place to eat.

Yelp
Our first time here, we were looking for some good ramen late at night and came across to Sakura Ramen! Waiter was super nice, very great service! Ramen was good ! Diff recommend

Yelp
Food was good, could use a bit more salt and pepper but that's just me. Service was good and the ambiance is good :) definitely would come back again to try their other items on the menu!!

Kass M.

Yelp
Ramen was delicious! Service was great. Close to our house, will definitely come again! Thank you, Sakura!

Yelp
Come try the Pasta Ramen! Ever since Cafe Sanuki closed down I've been yearning for a good carbonara ramen/udon place, and this place was it! Erika, our server was great, friendly and very attentive. Small shop but it has a nice cozy vibe to it. Overall- 9.5/10. Great spin on Ramen, while you can also get good traditional at the same time!

Yelp
Instagram target audience: REACHED! Saw an Instagram reel from Sakura Ramen for their pasta ramen - if there were two foods I would want to combine, these would be it. Service was immaculate. Water? FILTERED BABYYYY! No gross Vegas tap water here. Prices are fair and portions are perfect (this is a pro to me, con to others - to each their own). Pasta ramen though... interesting lol. Comparable to Jolibee's spaghetti (i.e., Filipino spaghetti/sweet spaghetti). The tonkatsu ramen broth was just slightly watery. Egg was perfect though. 4 star turned to 5 because free scoop of ice cream when leaving a review or following on IG - I can appreciate a good a buy-in! My labubu also fell off my purse when leaving and I didn't notice, but the waiter literally RAN my labubu out to me! I would've been so devastated if I lost Hehe! (IYKYK). Overall would come back for another go around for sure -

Yelp
We noticed Sakura Ramen take over this spot and was intrigued by their Pasta Ramen Series. When we finally had a chance to visit, we had already missed out on the first in their series. They offer only 10 bowls per day of this special item. On our visit, they had already moved on to the 2nd in their series - Salmon Crab Tomato Cream Pasta Ramen for $16.89. We got two orders of this. It's super rich and heavy as it's cream-based. It was good though and I shared mine. We also got their Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen $15.88. This was good. And we also ordered a side of extra noodle - Kaedama for $2. This surprisingly came with minced ginger, mustard greens, garlic paste and fried garlic! What a nice little extra bit to accompany these noodles. The Husband was quite pleased. Service was beyond efficient! The waitress came by many times to check on us and kept our water glasses filled. It's been a hot minute since I've had such attentive service in a small restaurant. Sakura Ramen is worth a return visit! Go check them out!

Yelp
New to this side of town and was craving ramen! Saw them in instagram and had to try it and it wasn't disappointed! Clean restaurant with super friendly staff! Ambiance is very chill and relaxing for me and my family of 4! The decor was super cute all around the restaurant too! The food was also delicious! We ordered: Gyoza (5/5) the tender meat combined with all the seasonings made this super good! Didn't ask but I think they made it themselves? Definitely feel like it was store bought! It paired well with the sauce too! Chicken karaage (5/5) jumbo chicken thighs dipped in batter and deep fried! Super delicious! I like that they portioned it so that if you can get less than 5pcs! Sakura ramen (10/5) this was their #1 ramen and it definitely belonged in that spot! Rich and creamy goodness with chashu pork and not 1/2 an egg but 1 whole egg! Along with Japanese mushroom, green onions and nori! Must try! Super good! Tomato cream ramen 10/5! This is one of their specialty ramen that my daughter really loved! It was super creamy and tasty with small bits of salmon and crab! Must try! Overall we had an amazing experience! The food was amazing, the staff were excellent, and the vibe was perfect! If you're not craving ramen, they have a variety of other food items too! From rice dishes to desserts! Will Definitely be back to try their Japanese shaved ice!

Yelp
Tried this spot today with my girlfriend! First thing right off the bat, Sakura Ramen has excellent staff working here, our waitress was super friendly and fast with handling any requests we had, she also refilled our waters without asking and always had a smile on her face! The Sakura Ramen dish I ordered was delicious, fresh, and came with fried garlic, pickled veggies, and ginger on the side which was a nice touch and pleasant surprise. The broth was flavorful without being overly rich/fatty. Also the ramen included one of the best ramen eggs I've had, the egg yolk texture was perfect (not too hard and not too runny) and the marinated flavor came through strongly and was so tasty! Also tried the mochi desert which had a great flavor and texture. They even gave us complimentary ice green tea shots at the end of the meal for free which was super cool! Presentation of the ingredients in the ramen bowl was A+ and the restaurant was clean while having its own cool decor/charm. Music playing was fun and not blaringly loud. Would 100% return and can't wait to get another bowl of ramen!

Yelp
Everything was amazing. Been here twice in a week, definitely my new favorite restaurant in Vegas.

Yelp
Best ramen by far I've found in Vegas. Their eel bowl was delicious and they were not stingy with their portions at all. Equal eel=rice ratio for sure. Their unagi sauce is not overpowering. Complimented with the spicy tuna hand roll, the hand rolls were a nice appetizer while waiting for the ramen. The spicy tuna in the middle reminded me of spicy ahi back home in Hawaii when I used to work in Tanioka's. The cucumber slices in the middle were refreshing piece added to these hand rolls. My go to every time my wife and I dined here. Let's talk about the ramen tho. Texture of the noodles was the best. Firm and not soggy at all. The tonkatsu broth was rich with flavor. Not too salty, nor was it under salted either. The meat provided in the ramen bowl was soft and easy to break apart. The shoyu egg was delicious and not over cooked at all. Overall the flavors of the ingredients over exceeded my expectations! Service was great and very attentive to customers. They respond well and knowledgable about their menu. The eating area was nice and light were dim. Definitely my go to ramen spot!

Yelp
My parents have been visiting from Japan the past few months and they needed their ramen fix. My dad wanted to try Sakura, as the owner's father runs a famous ramen spot in Japan. We ordered the gyoza, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Cold Shoyu ramen, and shaved ice. Sakura is known for its tonkotsu ramen, so I'd definitely recommend trying one of those. So so so good. Hearty without being too greasy or oily. The cold shoyu ramen was a hiyashi chuuka which isn't what I had expected but good regardless! Shoyu ramen broth was a little sweeter than I normally like but my dad really enjoyed it. Gyoza were small but good. Most ramen places in Vegas serve store bought frozen gyoza, but Sakuras seemed handmade. the strawberry shaved snow was light, refreshing, and a perfect way to end the meal. Sakura ramen definitely hit the spot!

Yelp
Food quality is good . Ambiance is very good . Nice / cute decors / Service was superb

Yelp
Came here for dinner and it was decent. I had their signature tonkotsu ramen with an egg. The broth was simple. The noodles were thin and cooked perfectly. I wish their green onions were naganegi or the white parts of the negi on ramen rather than simple wagiri green onions. I wish they had smaller toppings like sesame seeds, vinegar, etc on the table. Yu rin chi was good. I liked the toppings on there. Service was good. The ambiance was also good, pretty quiet with Japanese music playing in the background. If you are looking for a reasonably priced simple bowl of ramen, this would be a good place to check out.

Yelp
Ramen was delicious, especially the egg. Service was fast and attentive as well. Definitely would be back again next time.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese Ramen. Japanese chefs. Excellent food and friendly service.try Sakura Ramen. Delicious Tonkotsu broth.

Yelp
TL;DR Delicious shoyu, 20/10 service, but expect waiting time to be slightly longer compared to other ramen shops. Parking is very spacious during opening. A lot of wood decor and tables, spacious with half and half seating. 1 tv at the entrance playing anime. Light Japanese music. Phenomenal service! Their shoyu and sakura ramen (tonkotsu base) are most popular. No shio to my disappointment. Extra noodle portion was generous :) and the chashu was sliced into huge but perfectly thin cuts. Definitely coming back.

Uika N.

Yelp
This is hands down the best ramen place in Las Vegas. They have excellent customer service as well.全部美味しかったです

Yelp
Had the traditional tonkatsu and it was delicious! I placed an order for pick up but ended up eating there. Perfect portion and piping hot even though it was wrapped to go. The service was great, very attentive and very kind. The setting is comfortable and I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
What an amazing little quiet place for amazing Japanese Ramen and even Japanese Italian dishes! Reminded me of my time in Japan. Comfort Japanese food is so good. I will be back for more.

Yelp
"Ichi Ban" Great ambiance very Japanese ramen stop vibe. Service on top of thing too. What you'll expect for an award winning ramen shop in the South Summerlin Las Vegas area

Yelp
I live close by and always pass by this place, today I finally got to pay them a visit, I will definitely come back for their other stuff on their menu. I ordered their Yu rin chi which was pretty much the chicken karaage with some topping and their special sauce, the taste was a bit to the heavy side for me but it's not to the point where it's unbearable, chicken was nice and crispy. I also order homemade gyoza, they indeed taste homemade (not frozen). My main entree was their Carbonara, it was tasty and creamy, I don't usually eat much noodles but it just looked so tempting on the menu so I decided to just give it a shot and I don't regret it. My server was very friendly and tried his best to go over their menu with me since there were quite a few words that I didn't know what they were. The whole restaurant was to the small side but not overly tiny, they did a good job with their interior design and keeping it nice and clean. Overall a great restaurant.

Yelp
Legit Japanese ramen from Fukuoka! It's like being back in Japan, with only a 15 min drive away. So happy to find an genuine ramen restaurant outside of Chinatown. Signature Tonkotsu (5/5) Warabi mochi (5/5) - perfect cool dessert Green tea (5/5) It's real Japanese style, so not overly fatty nor salty. Ambiance is American, pop songs. Service is extremely kind and generous. We loved talking to the staff. This is now my new go-to ramen spot :D 本当日本ラメん屋!ラメんは塩辛くない、わらび餅甘すぎない。完璧です。嬉しい。
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Great late night spot for izakaya in the southwest. If you like spicy, do the spicy ramen with pork and spicy meat. Little bites - veggie and eel avacado little bites were good. Gyoza was better than the takoyaki
google avatar

May N.

Yelp
Service great. Place is quiet. Seems clean. Food is okay. I felt the broth had too much oil and too much salt. That is my opinion. Price is average. The house saki is robbery. Small saki is 11 and if you order large they charge you for 2 small. So on your check you will see double saki at 11. So that is 22 dollars for a large house saki. I have never paid that much for a house saki. Maybe 11 dollars at most 15 for a large house sake. Jjang steak & sushi I think charge like 10 for a large house saki. Sushi Koma is around similar to jjang steak. Please be aware. I made the mistake of not asking how much??? One large saki is the price of 2 ramen soup. Just be aware. My fault for not asking how much. That is one expensive mistake I will never make again.

Yelp
This is what ramen should be. The broth was perfectly seasoned and simmeredI just wish there was more moth feel. The takoyaki was amazing with the bonito flakes. The restaurant is small and quaint perfect for a date night. Our server was attentive and prompt.
google avatar

Yelp
A very nice surprise in the Vegas Valley! The dishes came out fast and everything tasted very fresh. The Karaage was a nice little appetizer. We then tried the Sakura and the Tonkotsu Spicy. Both very rich bork broth and not super salty. Noodles were cooked perfectly. We will be back for more!
google avatar

Antonio M.

Yelp
The ramen at Sakura Ramen was incredible. I had the pork ramen, which was bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The place was super inviting and cozy, with a great ambience. I also tried the crispy chicken and some edamame, which were both fantastic. Everyone there was so friendly--definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Small quaint Japanese restaurant under new ownership decent size menu happy hour specials and lunch specials. I like this place good location. I would come back here again. A+

Yelp
We decided to go back to Sakura for dinner last night and it was the perfect decision. We were greeted by Maria and seated at our table and she remembered us, Which made us feel at home and at the place to be. Food was excellent, Service was Amazing and the staff opened the door as we excited and wished us a good night. (Not even the big restaurants on the strip do it). Just saying. The Service is Kind and Friendly, Again the food is Amazing and it's a must go to for great ramen. Thank you Again, Sakura.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Our first time here and certainly will be back! We had the Sakura Ramen and Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, and the Gyoza! Everything was delicious and amazing! Being Japanese myself, it was so nice to find authentic Japanese Ramen! Thank you for the excellent service and shaved ice dessert, which the ice is brought over from Japan! This is by far the best Ramen I've had since moving here to Vegas!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
My go to ramen place! They specialize in hakata style ramen, which has milky bone broth. Can't beat tradition!
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Traditional Japanese ramen. A little on the pricey side and the topping choices are not like all the Korean owned places. Small menu but true flavors of Japan. Excellent service and plenty of parking.
google avatar

Renee S.

Yelp
I think this is the old Ramen Zero location. We ordered the SAKURA RAMEN, pork broth, woodear mushrooms, a soft boiled egg, with thin noodles. It was tasty. I had the small pork belly bowl, with fiber soy sauce. Both were tasty. The appetizers , kaarage chicken and gyoza were great. The kaarage chicken wasn't oily at all. Great service and ambiance, lots of parking. Overall, tasty food.... will try dessert next time!!
google avatar

Erika N.

Yelp
Bomb ramen without having to drive to china town. Sakura recently opened & the chef came straight from Japan so you know it's legit. The inside has a few tables for dine in and the ambiance felt cozy. During my visit I tried the chicken karaage, gyoza and signature tonkatsu ramen. I loved the deep, rich flavor of the broth and the noodles were perfect. It's definitely one of my top 3 spots now for ramen in Las Vegas. A great addition to the southwest area.
google avatar

Melody Y.

Yelp
Best ramen on our side of town! Each time I've come in everything has been delicious. And the service is always so friendly, we love coming here! Ramen: - I prefer the Sakura Ramen over the Shoyu Ramen. The Sakura Ramen had great flavor without being too salty, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The ramen egg is also spectacular~ Appetizers: - Takoyaki 5/5 Better Takoyaki than all the other izakayas I've tried in the city, they have the perfect crispiness and good sized octopus inside. - Sakura Salad 5/5, I love the baby corn in the salad and the dressing is so good. Dessert: - Must try the Shaved Ice.. 5/5 Will definitely be back to try their updated menu items, like the lunch bento box and brick toast! Would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out :)
google avatar

Yelp
I have been here multiple times and I love it! My kids also enjoy eating here and is one of our favorite ramen places 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Olivia L.

Yelp
Came here with family! We ordered karage, takoyaki, sakura ramen and tonkatsu ramen with black garlic sauce. Highly recommend karage and Sakura ramen! Sakura ramen has the best toppings. The black garlic ramen is a bit too bitter for me. Maybe they put too much black garlic sauce. Great service! The menu also offers the kids menu and the environment is kids friendly!
google avatar

Newton C.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are incredible. My favorite part of dining there is ordering all of the Temakis which I order one of each every time. I really enjoy speaking Japanese with the crew and knowing that my Ramen is authentic as it gets! I also like their hot tea and desserts although my favorite dish is indeed their hand rolls. The price is also very affordable for what you get, I go there all the time and I'm always surprised by how good their food and service are.

Yelp
Great service. Karage, gyoza, eel and avacado rolls, ramen. Everything was great add-ons were amazing.

Jaynar S.

Yelp
We came back! Our food & service was so awesome last time. The interior is nicely decorated. If seated on the side, you'll be sitting in these cute benches. We had the Shoyu Ramen & Tonkotsu Ramen, along with the Handmade Gyoza. Everything was delicious. We had Shaula as our server again. She was super friendly. We totally recommend.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with the family, and were warmly greeted and seated. Not very busy when we arrived but picked up. We had tonkotsu ramen and some takoyaki. Everything was very tasty.

Yelp
We gave this place a try two times, hoping that we would like it. But unfortunately, a good ramen restaurant does not exist in this area of town. Located in the same spot as the former Ramen Zero and Ramen Arashi before that. The inside is clean and looks pretty much the same, with some changes in the decor. On my first visit, I tried the Shoyu Ramen. This one was made from chicken broth, which I'm definitely not a fan of. I mean if it's called Shoyu, it should be made from Shoyu! My husband and I both ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen during our second visit. We both agreed that is was a very bland version of the normally flavorful and hearty Tonkotsu broth. The noodles also weren't that great. They tasted kind of starchy and did not go well with the broth. The only thing that was delicious was the Karaage. The chicken was hot, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I liked that it came with a spicy dipping sauce that they didn't charge extra for. They also gave us cold Green Tea shots to end the meal, which was a nice touch. 3 stars for the Karaage and friendly customer service. Sadly, we were disappointed overall. Back to Chinatown we go for the better Ramen shops!
google avatar

Jin N.

Yelp
Did I go on an off day? I went here with a couple of ramen enthusiasts and they were not satisfied at all. We got the tonkotsu ramen and shoyu ramen. The broth was one notes, lacked depth, and was just OK. The gyoza lacked flavor. But it was cooked perfectly. The spicy tuna was a deal so I was excited. It was probably the best part of my meal with well-seasoned rice. Gyoza- 2/5 Shoyu ramen - 3/5 Spicy tonkotsu ramen - 2.5/5 Spicy tuna- 3/5 The food took longer than the speed of ramen places that I'm used to. Overall, there as nothing that stood out as exceptional for me.
