Google
The best! Their bone broth (shiro) ramen is to die for good. And the ladies behind the counter are fantastic! Only complaint is that the portions should be twice as big, but in terms of taste, flavor, and the way it is suppose to be this place gets it right!

Friendly staff, quick service. Great food at a great price. Can't wait to try it again. Pictured is the Shiro ramen.

I've been coming here regularly for more than a year and it's always excellent. Like a Japanese version of taco salad with quality ingredients. Plus they have great ramen and vegan options. Everything is good here, you can't go wrong.

Edit: A year later and this place has really turned itself around. They've started using fresh noodles, the broth is now complex and delicious, and their prices are no longer ridiculous in the Portland cart scene. I'm not sure you can get a better ramen with the same convenience for under $10. I am actually shocked that I just paid $9 for what seems like dressed up instant ramen (plus a $0.50 fee to use my card). All that was in the bowl were noodles, a couple slices of pork, and an egg (that I paid an extra dollar for). The broth was basically salt with little else going on. The staff were very friendly and kind, which is the only reason I am giving this 2 stars. I would pay $4 at most for what I got.

Google
For the price the quality isn't very good. with tip and no other adds youre looking at almost 10$. For this you get two very small slices of pork belly (less than 4oz for sure). The meat is browned with a torch on one side to serve and each slice is at least 80% fat, not much edible meat at all. the fat is soft but gross without the hard sear on both sides. the broth and toppings are very good and it is probably better overall with the egg option and not the pork. i would try it again but it's worth noting that your portion is small for this price. generally i would pay $5-8 total for this total. the adds are very expensive and without it the base meal is a little lacking. the signage at the cart itself isn't great either and hard to read when crowded.

The best Ramen I have ever had and the desserts are delicious. It also has a lot of variety for vegetarians as well as traditional Japanese food. The great things is that it's healthy for you.

Honestly, we had pretty low expectations given it was 10:30pm on a saturday night in the middle of summer, but DAMN! This really hit the spot! We got the miso and kara-miso (spicy).Very rich and flavourful broth. Vegetables could have been cooked a bit to soften up but overall, very lovely ramen in a bind. It doesn't quite replace an official ramen joint, but it's close enough.

Google
The ramen was delicious! I had the Kuro, which has plenty of garlic succulence! I can't wait to go back and try the Aka c; Very fast service, too! It took less than 5 minutes.

Yelp
Amazing find. Stopped by here on a chilly Portland evening and ramen was the perfect comfort food to keep us warm and satisfy our hunger. I really can't speak highly enough about this place. I had the miso ramen and it was everything I was hoping for and more. Noodles were perfectly cooked. Broth was balanced; not too salty. Chashu pork had a good char on it to add both texture and flavor to the dish overall.

Yelp
This Ramen felt very real to me. I'm not sure how else to describe it. Yes, it was delicious. Was it perfect for me? No. Yet, there was magic in that bowl. I've eaten well over 100 bowls of ramen in my life, probably more. It is my favorite dish alongside Pho. Some amazing ramen, some not but Ciro gave me something new and yet something so mystically old. Why can't I give it the right words? Is it authenticity I taste? Was it a little Ramen shop in the heart of Tokyo? Was it a bowl made for family in the country with love? I don't know. But damn, it was something. The take out container is tough. It handles the firm noodles, rich broth, amazing chatsu (hearty with both fat and meat), and that soft egg like a boss. I simply curled myself around the container and became one with the contents. Prices cannot be beat in a city with expensive ramen all of great, good and go away. Don't go away from Ciro, not until you've tasted. Some of the best food in the world comes off of carts. You don't need a big fancy bowl every time. Ciro casts a spell. Enjoy the magic of the street she graces.

Yelp
In a city filled with mediocre and expensive ramen, Ramen Ciro is a true gift from the ramen gods. I am so impressed with the quality and flavor, and cannot wait to patronize Ramen Ciro more to try out all of their menu. The price point is fantastic for what you get ($8.25) - a huge bowl of ramen with lots of garnishes, thick cut chashu with the perfect amount of fat rendered throughout, and thin, bouncy, and chewy noodles reminiscent of Tokyo style ramen noodles. It's absolutely delicious with an authentic Japanese flavor throughout. Ramen Ciro easily takes the #1 spot for ramen in Portland, which was formally held by Aiko Ramen's Tonkotsu ramen in my book. I ordered the Kara Miso ramen at a spicy level 3 and it was fantastic. The broth was well balanced and I loved how the heat slowly crept up on me. The spicy level was medium and didn't overpower the miso flavor. I also added a soft boiled egg for $1 which was cooked nicely. My love for Ramen Ciro was confirmed after receiving both halves of the egg. I always feel like I'm getting ripped off at other places by paying so much for half of an egg, but Ramen Ciro proved me wrong! I am the type of person who will eat ramen for days on end. I often like trying new places, but I am sometimes a creature of habit. My new habit will be getting Ramen Ciro on a cold winter day. It's crazy how delicious this ramen is coming out of a food truck. Portland friends, we're so spoiled when it comes to food, which includes having Ramen Ciro located centrally downtown. Their menu is pretty small (perhaps only 4-5 other ramens), so I will be able to figure out my favorite quickly. Stay tuned!

Yelp
Best Ramen in Portland! Omg! I tried almost all famous ramen shop in Portland, this is the best in term of price and quality! You have to try it so you know what I am talking about! It's only $8.25! It 10 times better ramen than Aiko Ramen, which could charge you $12 for similar ramen! My top list: #1 Ramen Ciro #2 Kizuki this is much more expensive ramen shop. Their poached eggs are the best! #3 Afuri. Most expensive but the broth is great!

Yelp
I tried the PSU location 2 days ago and happened accords this one today, I figured it must be a sign considering how much I loved the first bowl. Thank the gods this locations is equally if not more delicious! I'm addicted. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Yelp
This new food cart gives good value at $8.25. Ample noodles and the broth was tasty. The char siu is very different from the picture, seems smaller now. All in all, a good value for the money.
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Been walking by this cart for a couple months and finally tried it today. I choose the first option and am very happy with the flavor and quality. Also a good size portion for a base price of $8.25 (add on stuff is extra, a poached egg is a nice addition). Most ramen places are much more, of course that is in a brick and mortar store. This is a great addition to this food cart pod. Good quality and a reasonable price. I will be back to try the rest of the menu offerings. One odd thing about this place is that is card only, I am so used to a place being cash only and not the flip side.
google avatar

Marissa S.

Yelp
Five stars and here's why: for the price and quality, you canNOT beat it! It's very good and honestly at a sit down place or even another food cart maybe you would pay 14 dollars for the spicy tonkotsu broth. It's fairly a quick wait time so not bad at all.
google avatar

Riel M.

Yelp
Fast. Delicious. Good quality. Superb texture on the noodles, egg and pork. I believe the pork was tosted which was a nice touch. Not too salty. Not too rich. Also the containers worked very well to carry the soup. You can add eggs to your dish and they were delicious to me.

Yelp
I never thought ramen can be in food trucks. I watched the guy who made my ramen, and it seems like the broth is premade so all he had to do was scoop it and put it in a cup. It's really good though, and real spicy. I have been judgmental on Japanese food in food trucks but glad I tried this because it impressed.

Yelp
I'm so sad this place in no longer around but when it, it was the best ramen food cart around, and I was able to speak Japanese with the cook/owner.
google avatar

Dan K.

Yelp
Yeah this was what I wanted! Take out ramen still trips me out, but it was a great lunch! I got the kuro and added some eggs. Good depth to the broth and the chashu was on point. Sliced thick, and the fat tasted so sweet. I love the options for lunch downtown. If you like ramen, you like this place. Only gripes? The wait and no beverages. NBD.

Yelp
I really wanted this to be my new favorite ramen given its sheer affordability, but alas...it falls somewhere closer to third as far as spicy ramens go (it's the only kind of ramen I ever get) after the tonkotsu red from Marukin (specifically the SE location) and the vegan tantanmen from Afuri. The broth was good (I got a spice level 2 after the guy working said "no you don't want 3 it's too spicy) but it was sort of light and lacking some of the rich umami depth I get from the Marukin and Afuri broths. The added spice didn't really add more flavor, just a very light burn. The chashu pork was a little tough (the Marukin one literally melts in your mouth) and under-seasoned for my taste. Cabbage and bean sprouts mostly just add crunch. I added corn and egg to mine (because what is ramen without the soft boiled egg?) and the egg was super creamy and delicious. After reading all these rave reviews I was just a little underwhelmed. I missed the toppings I get (for no extra $) at Marukin: the menma (aka super flavorful bamboo shoots), mushrooms, spinach, and leeks. All in all, I paid about $12 including tip. For only $3 more (including 20% tip) I can get my favorite red ramen and a physical restaurant to sit in. I'd give 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed half stars, but I'm settling on Yelp's 3-star description of "A-OK" for this one.

Yelp
I've come here for lunch the few times, when i can catch them open. When i first arrived, he was on a personal call.. I ordered #2 extra spicy and payed for extra veggies and asked to leave the protein off and substitute for extra cabbage. He said that was fine. I placed the order and tipped 25% and told him I'd be right back. I had to run back across the street to work (Hubers) where i serve. When I came back, the window was closed and my food was sitting out with people all around and homeless are always walking around and sitting around the area. He didn't even warn me that that they closed at 2:30z On top I didn't even get that much extra veggie portion that I payed for and my bowl was maybe a little over half full. Never had a problem before but young Caucasian man could do better. Ramen tasted great just didn't get exactly what I payed for. Disappointed and not really worth the $15.

Yelp
Gotta try the foodtruck in Porland. First time standing on the street and eating hot ramen, very interesting experience. Owner is Japanese, and they know how to make good ramen. Chashu and Soft poached egg was right on point. Highly recommand the Kuro (Black) ramen.

Yelp
This ramen cart is my absolute favorite! Their flavors are always there and the folks working are super friendly. My favorite is the Aka bowl with spice level of 3, it tastes amazing and I haven't found anything else in this city to beat it. Ordered online for delivery and it was still the best around. Great price, amazing choices!

Yelp
I've never had ramen from a food truck before, I was definitely skeptical at first but oh my god it was incredible. I live in California so we don't have tons of these food truck areas, I was so impressed. Probably some of the best ramen I've ever had!
google avatar

Marcello S.

Yelp
Are you kidding me....!?!? This is the best ramen I've had in the entire PNW!! I've been to all of Portland's noodle shops and tasted authentic ramen in Tokyo, Ramen Ciro on another level!
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Not bad but not excellent. I liked the soft boiled egg and flavor of the broth (I ordered #2 medium spice). I took one bite of the meat and was not a fan. Idk if I should be using my "grading" differently because it is a food truck and not brick and mortar..but from a bowl to bowl stand point, it was okay.

Yelp
Some of the best Ramen I've ever had!! Quality ingredients and super friendly service. Love these guys.

Yelp
Ramen Ciro is probably my favorite Ramen in town, and easily the best value for money when it comes to Ramen in the city. When I get a bowl of tonkotsu ramen, the first thing I judge is the chashu (braised pork belly), is it tender? is it moist? is it flavorful? A big yes to all three with Ciro. The next thing I examine is the broth itself which should also be flavorful with just the right amount of salt. Ciro fires on all cylinders here, and while it is not the best ramen broth in town, it is still satisfying on all levels (I give it a #2 in town on the broth alone). Third consideration is the egg, is it properly soft boiled with a proper mix of cooked and liquid yolk? Yes, and some of that yolk will seep into your broth and enrich it even further, absolutely divine. Lastly I dig in for the noodles. Are they firm without being tough? Do they carry the flavors of the broth? Can I eagerly slurp them up spattering my lips and chin with a divine aroma? Yes on all counts. And all for $10 or less. When so many (also good) ramen shops in town are charging $14-20 for a bowl, this place is a delight and the best ramen value for your money. Ramen is supposed to be an affordable meal for busy people on the go, and Ciro delivers on this promise with friendly smiling staff who have never once got my order wrong. I'll be back, again and again.

Yelp
Tried a bowl of their Kara Miso Ramen during the weekend, having spent the day wandering through the Saturday Market. Everything about the dish was amazing. First off, you have the chashu pork; so soft and tender, you could cut it with the provided chopsticks! The fact that the chef finished prepping it by busting out the blowtorch instantly tells you that you are going to get an authentic street food experience, and it did not disappoint. The pork was cooked to perfection! Next, you had the noodles. Firm enough to be held with chopsticks without any breakage, yet tender enough to practically melt in your mouth as you greedily slurp them down. If there's one thing Ramen Ciro does not skimp out on, it's their excellent noodles for their ramen. Following that were the vegetables. I went for the simple approach; cabbage and spring onion with no additional accoutrements. The vegetables were fresh, and lent their flavor well to both the noodles and broth, and managed to retain plenty of crispness, even as they were left to soak in the rich broth of the ramen. Speaking of which... The broth. Oh lord, the broth. I went with a spiciness level of one, as it was my first time eating food from Ramen Ciro, and even at its weakest, their spicy Kara Miso Ramen still delivered a satisfying heat and kick. The flavor of the broth elevated the already excellent pork to another level entirely, without overpowering the tender meat, or the vegetables. All in all, the food was excellent, and next time I'm in the downtown area, I know exactly where I want to go the next time I'm overcome with the craving for some real, delicious ramen.

Yelp
This was an amazing find. I'm still happily eating as I'm writing this. I work downtown and like to check out the carts to see what's new. I passed by this one yesterday and was bummed I'd already bought food. Just picked up lunch today and it's absolutely delicious. I got the Aka, which is the spicy broth, at a level 3 out of 5 spice. The flavor is great, just spicy enough, the pork is really tender, noodles are nice and chewy, and overall, I'm really happy. The people were super friendly, food came out fast, and it's a surprisingly large portion for the price. There are extras on the side to add on as you wish. I added pickled ginger, white pepper, sesame seeds, and fresh garlic I squeezed out of a condiment bottle (which I've never seen, but fully support). I walked back to work and everything was still piping hot. I've never had cart ramen, but will definitely be back and would recommend it for sure.

Yelp
So nice to find gourmet ramen "Tokyo Street Food" right here in downtown PDX! Smooth chicken broth in the Miso Ramen. Wife tried the Kuro with black garlic oil and was satisfied. Nice presentation, friendly service, tasty food. Enjoy!

Kira W.

Yelp
Excellent authentic Japanese - from Tokyo- food truck! Go to the one by PSU for ramen after 9pm. Yummm

Tori Jean C.

Yelp
10/10 recommend for real ramen enthusiasts. Wish they had a restaurant so I don't have to find parking in downtown.

Norma N.

Yelp
Excellent lunch, made with fresh ingredients, very good noodles and broth. Kuro was nice flavor. I ate half and took rest to go and the lid fit snuggly on sturdy container; kept it warm and no spills. As good as you get in restaurants but faster and less $.

Yelp
this is one of those places that I kick myself for not trying sooner... walked here for my lunch today and got the spicy miso, level 3 & added a soft boiled egg. let me just say right now this was easily one of the best bowls of ramen i've ever had and it came out of a tiny food truck in downtown Portland. the egg was perfect, noodles perfectly cooked, rich broth, generous portions of pork and perfectly spicy. if you're a ramen lover, especially a miso ramen lover, you must try this place. all bowls come with chasu pork and all the fixings for 8.25. it's a pretty big bowl too.. then I added egg for an extra dollar which i highly recommend. it was three woman running the place, all very friendly and know what they are doing. they also have a location next to PSU that is open for lunch as well as dinner. I know i'll definitely be back and if you haven't tried this place before, do yourself a favor and go asap.

Meruti S.

Yelp
Absolutely tremendous. Miso broth, chashu, egg, everything was on point. Wow.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Good Ramen, definitely recommend. Price is fair for what you're getting. Just wish the poached egg wasn't a add on for a $1. Come on, it's a egg!

Grow M.

Yelp
This is the best value ramen in our town. I ate Kuro ramen. It was tasty and well balanced soup. Don't forget to put Beni Shoga (red sliced ginger) & Goma (sesame seeds) because Yakumi (seasoning) is very important for Japanese dishes.
