"This cozy spot now has three DFW locations - Addison, Lewisville, and a Frisco outpost. The original Addison location has an open kitchen to watch the pro chefs perfect their noodles as diners slurp up their garlicky chashu miso ramen." - Alaena Hostetter

Google
Me & my girlfriend were looking for some Ramen and we came across this spot. It was pretty good & we would come back. Now is it the best i have had, no but it was good. I believe every Ramen bowl is made differently & each Ramen restaurant has there own approach to each dish. But again it was good & I would go back here I recommend it! Give it a try!

Google
The ramen was delicious we had the shoyu ramen and spicy tonkotsu. The flavor was great and the noodles were on point. The egg had the tiniest bit that it was over cooked, but still tasty. Staff were all friendly and service was great. The dessert is really the only knock I have the cheese cake was TINY 😂 see picture for reference.

Google
I got the takoyaki as an appetizer. I was hesitant at first with the mayo but it was a nice balance I would definitely get it again. Then I got the dipping noodles and it was the first time trying it. It was really goooooddd! I have always seen videos of dipping noodles and wonder how good could it be. And I was thoroughly surprised. The broth was delicious and a bit salty but that’s why it’s dipping noodles! Once you dip your noodles and eat, all the flavors and well balanced and savory. And the portion is big as well! I definitely want to come back.

Google
Absolutely delicious! The vegetarian gyoza stole the show—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also for the spicy edamame, which was really good! We dipped both appetizers in spicy mayo, and some other spicy sauces our waiter recommended. Which made it that much more enjoyable! I tried the vegetarian miso ramen, which featured a rich miso broth and a medley of stir-fried cabbage, onion, carrots, and corn (I opted to skip the tofu). I added some spice for an extra kick, and it was incredibly flavorful. Every bite was a delight! 10/10

Google
I was in the mood for some ramen, and this place was nearby! We had the ("grilled") vegetarian gyoza to start off. My main gripe was the gyoza tasted very oily, which overpowered the rest of the dish. Next, I ordered the hakata ramen, which is essentially a tonkotsu ramen. The broth was okay; there was some flavor, but it wasn't as deep or complex as I would've liked. They do have sesame seeds, togarashi, and spice seasoning at the tables, which I added to help in the flavor department. The soft-boiled egg was more like a medium-boiled egg; the yolk wasn't runny whatsoever. The cha shu (pork slices) seemed kind of old; either the pork fat/oil went rancid. The price wasn't too bad either, I'd say Ramen Hakata is less expensive than most other ramen places I've been at in DFW.

Google
Raman was just ok. Yaki udon was nasty it tasted like uncooked. Server asked me if everything is ok. I said Yaki udon is not that great maybe you guys should cook it little bit longer. But the manager said that’s how we cook instead of asking or offer different food.It is not authentic Japanese Raman place. If you are looking for real authentic Japanese Ramen I don’t recommend it here.

Google
Delicious Ramen and other side dishes. Good for vegetarians. We tried Miso Ramen, Gyoza, Korokke and Cucumber salad. While the Korokke was so so, but other 3 dishes were very tasteful. The miso broth was delicious with good consistency and flavours. Recommended. Helpful and attentive staff too.

Google
Service was good, but I ordered the SPICY MISO RAMEN. But me being Mexican, it was NOT spicy AT ALL. I even added some chili powder that they offer on the table. I'll still come back, but when you say spicy, I expect some type of spice.

Valeria T.

Yelp
Food was definitely delicious!!! Everything we ordered was really tasty. The place felt cozy and it was pretty nice inside. Service was alright.

Michael C.

Yelp
I had a business lunch for a group of 6. We ordered. 5 of 6 of us received our food. I waited 20 minutes without food. The waitress did not come back to see if everyone got their food or even check on refills where she would have seen I did not have food. My meal was not comped. We were a group of 6 so gratuity was automatically included. I received minimal apology and the waitress blamed it on the kitchen. Unfortunate experience.

Margo T.

Yelp
Staple ramen spot in town. We got the vegetable & pork grilled Gyozas (dumplings) for appetizers and they were great. A bit oily but still very tasty. For our main we go the spicy miso with udon noodles & the miso vegetarian ramen. Both were amazing and the broths were delicious. The black mushrooms are so tasty, great crunch to them! Service is wonderful, all the servers are super attentive and kind.

Kayla M.

Yelp
Would give this place 3.5 stars. The miso spicy ramen was my absolutely incredible. Also enjoyed the spicy chicken karaage and the sauce was delightful. Shishito peppers were good as well as the kimchi ramen. Overall it was a cute restaurant and the service was kind and quick.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Good but not great. I have eaten a lot of ramen, in the US as well as Japan, so I'm picky, but this didn't grab me the way I'd hoped. The garlic tonkotsu wasn't terribly flavorful and the noodles were quite al dente, erring on the side of too hard in my opinion. The sparkling yuzu beverage was tasty but very sweet. Small place, not a lot of tables, but ramen is one of those things that's best right away rather than takeout.

Lawrencia L.

Yelp
It was my first time here at the restaurant. I truly enjoyed the ramen. The spice level was perfect. I like that you could add additional toppings. I really didn't care for the hot green tea. I will come back here to try other items. The service was great as well. I was seated immediately upon entering the restaurant.

Gerald M.

Yelp
Great food. Great atmosphere. Recommend the miso spicy ramen with pork. Next time I'll add more protein.

Krystyan L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. I hadn't had Ramen in a while and was looking for a place close by that had vegetarian options. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and were nice enough to explain the menu and let me know how I could customize my Ramen order, and they would check on me probably every 10 minutes to make sure I was doing good. The food came out pretty quick and it tasted delicious. I love how you can customize the type of noodles you want and whatever toppings you want on it in case you don't like how they already premade on the menu. The ambience is casual they don't have too much seating but I do like that they have a lot of table counter spaceand kind of a bar area for if you go and sit by yourself. I definitely will go back and want to try more things on the menu my favorite Ramen place so far in Dallas.

Aryelle S.

Yelp
I really liked their ramen and their portion sizes are HUGE. The service was very fast and attentive. It's a smaller restaurant and the seating area isn't very nice or comfy by any means.

AD J.

Yelp
It was a good spot for apps. I didn't try the ramen but will be back to try. The staff were nice and great at explaining the food choices. The atmosphere was laid back. Cool that my table allowed me to see the chefs as they work.

Claire P.

Yelp
We ordered Spicy Ramen to go. Front staff was pleasant, we weren't there for that long. Place was busy from what we could see. Ramen was good. As for the spiciness.. Not really.

Vivien H.

Yelp
We have visited this Ramen spot coz it was the closest to us and they are 4.7 on tripadvisor. We were greeted and seated pretty fast, went here before dinner rush. Booth are narrow and wooden, not super comfy but we didnt spend more time after dinner coz it was so cold in there. The pork gyoza appetizer is always a good choice, we had it grilled, the sauce that came with it was super duper delis, I even poured some in my ramen. I had the vegetarian ramen, just a note the broth is still pork based! I eat meat but was in a mood for veggies and those dark mushrooms in the ramen were divine. The other ramen we ordered was served with their homemade chili paste and we could not finish the dish coz the end of it was sooooo spicy, much broth was left, well we have learnt our lesson. Anyways, there are so many other places to try, so we wont be back anytime soon. Service was okay, nothing special, no personalities just order takers. Like I mentioned earlier, was too cold to stay for dessert, but they all looked good. Ramen Hakata is good for a quick night out.

Den F.

Yelp
Good Japanese food, quickly and exceptionally service, comfortable chairs and accesible for many persons, kid friendly.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Great spot to get consistently good ramen. It's a small little space, but it has a nice mix of booths/tables and a bar to get your noodz on. I'm a fan of their ramen- their broth is rich and creamy, a meal in itself. The noodles are cooked really well and taste fresh. The pork belly and egg are cooked nicely (although I do wish the egg was soft boiled vs hard boiled, but I'm splitting hairs at this point). Portion is good and I walk away feeling satisfied and happy. Service is good- staff is friendly and attentive. Solid ramen joint.

Alysha D.

Yelp
Super yummy food! Cute and classy ambiance. Food was served fast, hot and fresh. The service was great and everyone was nice and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat! Big portions

Teara J.

Yelp
Ramen Hakata was really good. I had the green tea and the kimchi ramen. The service was good, and the ambiance was chill. My only complaint is that it was really cold inside of the restaurant, but aside from that I enjoyed my visit.

Clyde K.

Yelp
ramen was nothing special. there are much better places for ramen in Dallas that are much cheaper. really disappointed in the ramen and the various appetizers. service was so-so, but the atmosphere was nice. this place has gone down in quality since i visited a few years back.

Lily Q.

Yelp
The ramen here is pretty standard to other ramen places I've tried. The atmosphere is pretty casual and there are some booth areas for seating. I think the restaurant is larger than the Ramen Hakata in Frisco. We went for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The menu gives you multiple base options to choose from (spicy and nonspicy) as well as all the additional add-ons you can add to your ramen. I got the spicy ramen and it was pretty good.

Matthew C.

Yelp
The Spicy Miso Ramen was a tantalizing blend of rich umami and fiery heat. The savory miso base beautifully complements the kick of spice, creating a symphony of flavors that awaken the taste buds. The noodles are perfectly cooked, providing a satisfying texture to this hearty bowl. However, the intensity of the spice might be overpowering for some palates. Overall, a delicious choice for spice enthusiasts seeking an authentic and affordable ramen experience.

Haley C.

Yelp
Food is always delicious (literally anything you order), service is fast, but my god is it FREEZING inside the restaurant.

Riley K.

Yelp
My all time favorite place to eat! Don't miss out. The pork buns are the best! The have such good mochi, and everything gets served quickly. The staff is also always very kind!

Angi T.

Yelp
I absolutely love ramen and a friend suggested on of her favorite spots in Addison. Living in a Plano that's 15 minutes drive so I'm down for a different experience. Ramen Hakata is located right in front of the Target with a couple of store front shops. It seems small at first but they have a very decent sized restaurant. I believe I even saw a party room in the back. They were busy with customers and lots of take out orders. I'm feeling this is promising . I looked over the menu and to avoid getting more than my tummy will allow I skipped appetizers. I ordered the Garlic Ramen. I asked my friend why does the broth look so white? It's almost milky in color. She told me maybe the picture was altered because she doesn't recall the broth being that hue. I added some Nori and pork belly cuz that's my bizness (Shout out to Tab!) We get our ramen quickly. It was very white/milky. I didn't get it. I saw fresh garlic and garlic slivers in my ramen which made it spicy but I was looking for garlic flakes as notes in the description. I asked for sesame oil and the actual salt because it was really bland to me. I wasn't impressed at all. The service was great the waitstaff took care of you no matter if they initially waited on you. If they passed your table they checked up on you. That was wonderful. I took the rest of my ramen home with me and had it the next day. It seems the flavors had time to develop the complexity and broth consistency that I'm use to and I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around.

Grace S.

Yelp
Great service. Clean place. Ramen was delicious! New to the area and found the new spot!

Emily S.

Yelp
Tasty! The okonomiyaki is real nice, the takoyaki are scrumptious and the teriyaki chicken plate is delicious.

Mr. F.

Yelp
Hot damn. This place has the best ramen in DFW! Highly recommend the cucumber app and the dumps. The ramen was so good. 10/10 instant classic.

Sophia J.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place ever since they opened and never went back home disappointed! We went as a group of 5 friends and some of what we ordered were takoyaki, kimchi ramen, spicy miso ramen, tonkatsu, and chashu bun. We were all satisfied with our order and food came out fairly fast enough. This particular restaurant has a spacious room like area on the left side which is nice for big groups to come eat, which is where we sat. It was nice, especially during the COVID since we can be spaced out from other groups!

Emily M.

Yelp
Plenty of options, clean restaurant, kind and helpful. Waitstaff! Food was really tasty!

Taylor F.

Yelp
Service was fast and efficient. I got the miso garlic ramen with no green onions or bean spouts. The peach sake was delicious.

Mackinzie B.

Yelp
A good, consistent ramen place. I usually go with spicy miso ramen and add extra spice. The broth is rich and savory. I also enjoy their chicken karrage. It's a great date spot as the atmosphere is cozy and intimate.

Tia R.

Yelp
I pass this place often when heading to the gym and finally had time to stop and try it. Unfortunately my ramen pictures turned out blurry but that about sums up my experience. A blur... and not a good one. I did appreciate the fact that masks are still required and all of the staff was wearing masks. I sat myself at the high table against the wall and thought... this place could use a good cleaning. There were black particles in the edges of the entire table. The gyoza was just ok. Honestly I should have gotten the streamed so I can't complain because the was my fault. The flavor of the filling was good but for me the breading was a bit much and overly fried. I got the spicy miso ramen and to sum it up.. flavorless and tough chasu. The most anticipated yet disappointing meal.

Jason S.

Yelp
I used to come here every week! Food is always good. Sometimes I forgot about time when I eat here from being so comfortable in there. Service never let's me down.

Lawrence C.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Great vibes and staff, and also, great FOOD! Damn near had to change my underwear after the meal from all the excitement! Food came out hot, well seasoned, and ready to eat right off the stove. 10/10 would recommend.

Brandon L.

Yelp
Always delicious. My favorite is the kimchi ramen and the pork chashu buns. Wonderfully decorated and comfortable

Tim T.

Yelp
Excellent high quality ramen, but their side dishes and unique/rare dessert offerings are where they truly shine. I hadn't eaten all day so I got a tsukemen (hand-dipped or dipping noodles) with the sides of shishito peppers, squid, croquettes, gyoza, spicy chicken karaage, okonomiyaki and a mini chasu-don. Most of the sides were excellent, my only complaints are with the okonomiyaki - which were in these really hard small pieces unlike what traditional okonomiyaki is supposed to be like. The mini chasu-don seemed to just have bits of pork but no egg. The desserts were spectacular - especially the very rare dish of the Mont Blanc (made with what appeared to be green tea or matcha flavored strings). That was divine. The cheesecake and the chocolate mochi were also very good, but I would recommend going here just for the Mont Blanc dessert alone!

Rene M.

Yelp
Stopped by the other day for a late lunch. The lunch rush was dwindling. A very nice young woman saw that I was seated at a very comfortable, clean booth. My server, Jason(?)was great and he made an excellent recommendation. I had to leave early, but it heated up great later. It was a ground pork ramen with a very flavorful broth. Can't wait to go back!

Leanne G.

Yelp
Very good ramen! Comfortable atmosphere. We came here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We started with grilled gyoza. They were crisp and came out quickly. Delicious dipping sauce. Our ramen was very good. We had a variety of options from the Yuzu-shio to the miso to the traditional Hakata. For two, we substituted chicken for pork, and added extra vegetables. The Hakata was the favorite for our table. There were only a few tables full, so it was relatively quiet. Our service was good.

Leah N.

Yelp
First time trying ramen, it was great. Good service, the food came out relatively quickly and was delicious.

Marc L.

Yelp
$33 for a bowl of veggie ramen and spicy edamame and tip, absurd...you can go off the lunch menu at any proper restaurant for $30+ This place is overpriced to say the least for what you get

Denise H.

Yelp
This was from our first trip out to Ramen Hakata. Happy to say we visited again this past week and it was just as great! The Ramen Hakata broth is savory and not as thick/heavy as other places. The ramen noodles are straight and good. The Miso Ramen is light and comes with curly noodles. I loved the flavor all around. For both dishes I will add the pork was tender and did not have any fat. I'm not a fan of nori so on my second visit did ask for it without. The the extra spice on the side was appreciated to take the flavor to a whole other level The tuna appetizer is amazing! I suggest you try it as is then after squeeze a little of the lemon. The flavor change but the added zest was amplified!

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I pass this place every day on my way to work and have always wondered what this little place had to offer. Food was amazing! The restaurant is very cute, cozy, and smelled just fantastic! After ordering, our food came out very fast, fresh and hot. Couldn't have asked for a better experience :D Thank you team at Hakata!

Vanessa H.

Yelp
This review is for those vegetarians This place was awesome! Got the vegetarian soy ramen, and the curry both very fresh, very delicious. Some restaurants taste like they hide behind a very salty broth but I really enjoyed this one with plenty of veggies (loved the mushrooms!). Presentation was also very nice but We forgot to take a picture. We enjoyed the hot sake, which I don't usually like but in fact was tasty. Service was casual, very nice, ambiance was almost homey and very comfortable. Big recommend, I'm sure all ramen is great!

Sean J.

Yelp
Chill ambience, with nice warm lighting. I came by myself and found a nice booth spot in the corner where I could eat and watch the chefs prepare the food. The food came out pretty quick. I got the Ebidon and the Sweet Soy Chicken Karaage. It was delicious and hit the spot just right. The seasoning was on point and neither too little nor too much. I cleaned both of my plates. The service was active and I didn't have a problem needing assistance. I have no complaints with my dining experience. It was my first time here and definitely not the last. Seeing as the two things I ordered were so delicious, I am eager to try the rest of the menu as well.

Danielle G.

Yelp
The reasons for a 4 - 1. The veggies - green onion & black mushroom wasn't chopped. They were long pieces and too long to eat properly. 2. Chicken portion is much smaller than other places. Other than that the flavor of the broth was delicious! We order Chashu Ramen w/ spicy on the side and Shoyu Ramen w/chicken and veggies on the side. For app we have edamame.

Alan G.

Yelp
Friends invited me to join them for lunch and this is the spot we picked. For those that know me know that I enjoy a good ramen. And boy am I glad that I came here. They have a large variety of ramen compared to any other place I've been. They have a few different broths - beef, chicken, pork or fish. And within those different bases, they have multiple types of ramen. I enjoyed it so much i came back on my own a couple of days later. I had the Miso Spicy Ramen the last time I was here. I really enjoyed it. I think it's the Miso Ramen with a spicy paste added to it. And then today I had the Kimchi Ramen. This was kimchi with pork chasu, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, onion, green onion, buttered corn, soft-boiled egg and some onion flakes. This is a lot more spicier than the Miso Spicy Ramen and heavy on the Kimchi flavor. I still liked it but the strong flavor caught be off guard at first. However, that didn't stop me from devouring my ramen. Service was great and so was the ambiance. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone in the mood for some Ramen. They have other items as well. I guess I'll have to come back to try them out.

Shirmon D.

Yelp
Best place in the world. The Spicy Ramen is soooooo yummy. Get an gyogi appetizer. Fried is best.

Joshua K.

Yelp
We ordered the chicken karaage, spicy ramen, & spicy miso ramen The good: portion size on the large is huge, both of the noodle types were tasty The bad: broth tastes meh, the spicy ramen is a bit too spicy, pork is a bit tough Overall, the broth really made everything awful Not willing to give this place another chance

Supduper S.

Yelp
Generous portion!! Taste is delicious!! Service is awesome!! They have plenty variety of food..

Dre S.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite ramen place but I've been pretty disappointed the last few visits. They give you a lot more now in terms of portion but the quality isn't there anymore. The broth and takoyaki were ok. The atmosphere is good though, the inside looks nice and the chefs greet you in Japanese when you walk in. Overall; they close pretty late and it's decent ramen so if you're craving ramen past 10, this is your spot.

N i c o.

Yelp
First of all such a cute place, great vibes! Second, DELICIOUS ramen, the broth is absolutely incredible this is my favorite ramen spot in Dallas because of how delicious it is!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Twana A.

Yelp
Meso ramen! That's all I know. It's always fresh and full of flavor. Service is good too. This is my go-to spot.
