I visited a ramen spot featured in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand section—and it was absolutely worth it! The restaurant is tucked away on the second basement floor (two levels down from street level), and fortunately, there was no queue when I arrived.
As is typical in Japan, you order from a vending machine outside—I chose menu option number 1. Just a note: you’re only allowed to take photos of the food, not the interior.
The ramen was outstanding. It came with a side of meat, rice, and a Yuzu Kosho topping. They suggest mixing the Yuzu Kosho into the broth, and the pairing is spot on. The broth is the real star of the dish—delicate yet deeply flavorful, made from a combination of three different stocks.
The noodles are handmade, and the pork was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The dish also included a beautifully soft-boiled egg from Miyazaki Prefecture, with a rich red yolk that added extra depth to the flavor.
All of this for just 1,590 yen—an incredible deal for such a high-quality meal. Truly a fantastic spot. Highly recommended!
