Ramen Star

Here on a Sunday afternoon & they are playing my favorite Totoro music & jazz too! The truffle ramen tastes authentic & I love their chestnut cake - so light & fluffy! Best authentic Japanese ramen experience! The place has very nice ambience.

Let me tell you; this was like a taste of home with an uplifted twist! The love for the craft of food would make my obāchan proud. We got Tsukemen (photo) which Daisuke recommended a small amount of lime to cut the buttery richness of the broth. The depth of flavors that were created in the broth really brought the dish home. This paired well with the god of water sake. We also ordered the Temaki (photo) which was an elevated twist of the usual hand roll. I highly recommend coming here.

My family and I came for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the service was really good. They even paused the jazz music for birthday music to help celebrate as well. Would definitely recommend!

I first visited this Japanese ramen restaurant a couple of years ago and was genuinely shocked by how good it was—the flavors were rich, the broth was hot, so even though it was priced quite high, I still think it's worth it. Unfortunately, returning a couple of years later was a major disappointment. We were the first customers of the day, and as soon as we walked in, the restaurant smelled stuffy with an unpleasant sewage-like odor, which immediately set a negative tone. The odour slowly dissipated. We ordered two bowls of ramen and a deep fried squid tentacles. The squid was okay, but the biggest issue was the ramen itself. Both broths were only lukewarm, which was surprising and disappointing. Ramen should be served hot, and it felt like a basic expectation wasn’t met. Given how great this place once was, this experience was especially disappointing.

Amazing experience, food was fantastic. Personal touches by the chef too. Would definitely visit again when we are back in Denver. Call ahead and make a reservation tho.

I ordered two ramen dishes to go. Neither of the ramens in the bag were what I ordered, and to top it off, I found a string in my ramen. This is the second time I’ve been here and it’s definitely gone downhill.

It may be called " Ramen Star ", but it's deserving of five stars and more. The restaurant is small ( 8 to 10 tables and some counter space) but with a pleasant vibe. I was seated immediately and received water and a menu right away. As it was my first time and the menu was quite lengthy, I went straight to heart of it and ordered the ramen. I ordered the spicy miso and couldn't have been more pleased. As they make their own noodles, I was pleasantly surprised at the thick and fresh noodles. Of course the true test was the broth and it was thick and flavorful. I also ordered a spicy chicken zosui, which is rice and broth combined. I'm looking forward to that. The service couldn't have been better. My server was kind, helpful and efficient. I can't wait for my next visit!

Such an incredible dining experience!! I had the miso eggplant dish (comes with beef or tofu) and my husband had the chocolate ramen. We also shared the mango mochi ice cream for dinner. This was our last night in Denver after living here for almost 4 years and we chose this place for our "last supper". Bryan, our server, was incredibly attentive in all the best ways and provided awesome recommendations too. If we are ever back in Denver, we will for sure come back!

Very tasty ramen. They have many options for all the taste buds. My vegetarian friend enjoyed her miso ramen and I enjoyed my ramen star. I found mine to be a little on the salty side toward the end, but overall I had no complaints. The space is small, but on a Friday evening there was plenty of seating. The service was quick and friendly.

3.5 stars. Ramen Star was my favorite place to order delivery from during the COVID pandemic lockdown in 2020. I would always get the same thing - Ramen Star with egg and hot paste, and of course a side of sake. Finally almost 5 years later, I decided it was time to visit them in-person. There was plenty of parking, and customer service is wonderful. I placed my usual order, but I don't recall the broth being as thick as gravy. I wasn't as impressed as I was when I first moved to Denver. (There are some places I find I like better via delivery.) The noodles were really good, though. They accidentally put fried garlic in mine. It was fine but dominated the entire dish. Probably wouldn't come back but glad I tried!

came on a Saturday evening, was seated immediately. We ordered the bao buns (beef), it was minced meat and very salty of flavor. maybe even too much sauce. We got the signature ramen start noodle and it wasn't anything special. it seemed more broth than creamy base that we were used to. we tried the truffle ramen as well and the broth was thin to where the truffle was all the way at the bottom of the bowl. i was a bit disappointed because it wasn't very flavorful either. at some point our son was getting a bit fussy. we waited and waited. no waiter came to help us, until i went looking for one. overall, the experience was a bit disappointing.

Great spot tucked away in the highlands. Outside is unassuming, staff was very friendly. We got: Shishito peppers Spicy salmon Temaki (hand roll) Salmon Temaki Spicy miso ramen Truffle ramen Couldn't finish, we were stuffed. Enjoyed everything, the Temaki were huge like a big sushi taco wrapped in seaweed. The shishito peppers had a sweetish ?aoli type sauce on it which I wasn't the biggest fan of. Ramen We both agreed the spicy miso was the winner. The waiter said the ramen star is really popular too. The truffle one was good but rich (as expected), and a tad bit sweet as well. I think the real draw is the noodles - very chewy and fresh! Next time we want to try the rice dishes- donburi and "risotto"

I came here with a friend for a Monday night dinner. It was perfect for what we needed and wanted - warm noodles on a cold night and a cozy small table for good conversation. There are many options on the menu. However, the "Ramen Star" is just what you need and I added tofu and an egg. I wish the tofu was warm - it was cold. The portion is large. You will have left over broth. I recommend that you order extra noodles to take home with the extra broth and eat it the next day - lunch is served! The service was fine. Overall, I had a good experience and food here. I will comeback when I want ramen!

Absolutely delicious ramen spot with a plentiful drinks list and robust appetizers. I don't eat pork which usually severely limits what ramen I can eat. Ramen Star gets an extra star for having four different vege ramens. I tried the tomato ramen; a mild flavor that felt far away from traditional ramen, but was very cool. The house salad is surprisingly tasty. The vegetarian tomato ramen is a tomato-based broth, topped with a fried tomato, a potato pierogi, greens, sprouts and parmesan. The only dish I tried that didn't "wow" me was the chili relleno ravioli. They were fried and certainly weren't bad, but it wasn't something I found myself craving hours after. If you're looking for a spot with a unique twist on ramen along with some mainstays, soup's on!

My friend researched and found Ramen Star before our trip out to Denver. We are both "noodle heads" so Ramen Star hits the spot. Their menu consists of starts, buns, ravioli, yakitori, ramen, mazemen noodles and tsukemen noodles. They are known for their "Chocolate Ramen" here consisting of a chocolate flavor base, chocolate ravioli, strawberry and chocolate whipped cream. We were not feeling too adventurous so we stuck to the basics of the Miso Ramen, Chicken Ramen and Spicy Chicken Ramen! But, it did not disappoint! The broth, noodles, toppings and flavors were all on point. Cute, Japanese themed interior, friendly service, I would come back again if I lived closer!

The signature ramen was very good, but the kimchi ramen was too spicy and didn't have any other flavors other than heat. The service was friendly but slow. It took a long time for them to take our order, offer water, refill drinks, etc. I had to go to the bar to ask for a check. I'll try them again but won't order the kimchi ramen.

take everything with a grain of salt, we're not from CO. The shining star was the Tuna Roll. everything else was subpar. the chicken ramen and the miso ramen had next to no flavor. I was honestly sad because their reviews aren't bad! the service was great!

Wanted to eat at Uncle but didn't want to wait an hour so Ramen Star was the next closest spot. Incredible time, all the appetizers, ramen and desserts were on point. We got some gyoza and a couple pieces of temaki and those were nicely done and delicious. I got the ramen star and my sister got a creamy corn ramen, both were incredibly good. Service was great and it wasn't too terribly pricey either. This is a very underrated ramen spot and I will be returning soon!

I came here because of the Offline App, and it was one of my favorite places I've tried so far! I went for lunch and didn't order a drink, but got the pork Bao as an appetizer. DELICIOUS! Our server guided us to thy decision and he was awesome. It was in the middle of a heatwave and hot ramen did not seem like the move, so I ordered the spicy tuna mazeman. It was the perfect amount of spicy and had a unique delicious flavor unlike anything I've ever tried: highly recommend. My husband didn't let the heatwave deter him from ordering the ramen, so I could try a bite of his. The broth was so flavorful, that I definitely intend to come back for the ramen once the weather cools down! They also have chocolate ramen that sounds intriguing for dessert

A really interesting stop while in Denver for work. Went here with my work team and called ahead to ask if they could handle a reservation for 9 people. They said no problem even though it was maybe 45 minutes prior. I had the eponymous ramen star which I enjoyed. Tonkotsu broth is often oily or too thick at some places but theirs was clean and flavorful. My coworkers also got the chocolate ramen and the corn ramen which they liked. Chocolate ramen actually tasted and smelled like chocolate. I definitely want to try that next time.

10/10 best food and drink!! Brian warmly greeted us ... recommended a delicious dry sake for us. I ordered the seaweed salad.... And the "star ramen" both sooooooo good!!! No MSG used here and legit Japanese restaurant! Must visit!

Wow. Great spot for ramen. Love that you can add anything you want to their already amazing selections. The food does take a bit to come out but it was totally worth it. I loved the truffle ramen and my husband had the miso ramen with extra noodles. We will be return patrons for sure!

Coming from Vegas we have pretty great & authentic ramen... this was definitely a miss. We came on a Thursday night with a group of eight and a table was easy to get. The menu options were promising and vibe was decent but the food was meh. The shishito peppers had no flavor and the shumai was undercooked with only one shrimp on top. The ramen broth was very vinegary and had ground beef, definitely nothing I've ever had before. The noodles were decent but that was probably the only saving grace. I can't say I'd recommend this spot.

I'm a bit bummed with the ramen at Ramen Star. Maybe my expectations were too high since it was recommended to me by many people. I tried the Ramen Star and Ramen Star Tsukemen. The house made noodles in both the dishes are excellent. The Ramen Star I think is best described as a hybrid of tonkatsu and shoyu broths. It is very rich, and is flavorful, but also very salty. The Tsukemen Ramen Star dipping broth is like an ultra concentrated version of the ramen broth. It's thick like gravy and extremely salty. Overall the ramen is just ok. But perhaps better than most ramen spots Denver has to offer.

We came in a little bit after dinner service just started. The restaurant smelled like pure rancid fecal matter. But knowing this was a smaller operation with handmade noodles I plugged my nostrils and sat down. There were two other tables sitting, who had still yet to place an order. Service was unattentive to say the least. The food that came out was passable at best but the real let down was the ramen. The broth is a thick inarticulate mess made up of a hybrid of chicken shoyu and tonkotsu broth. My fiancée even turned to me after trying a bit of my broth and looked at me puzzled and said amusingly "so what made you pick this place" The place came recommended by the same people that recommended UNCLE which another absolutely disaster of a ramen shop. Denver needs to do better. If you're truly looking for good ramen, Osaka Ramen is the only one that holds up to East and west coast Ramen bars

Food and service was excellent. Make sure to try the truffle ramen. Also, Ryan was a gem of a server.

I came here for lunch today, and it was super tasty! We started with the pork buns which flavored to perfection. I ordered the miso ramen, which came with chashu pork and beef. I loved the flavor of the ground beef in the broth. My partner ordered the Ramen star, which was also very good. There were vegetarian options on the menu, but I did not see anything marked vegan. The interior is small, and when we came, there was only one server working. We did wait a little bit more than average to get our order in but, it wasn't too bad. They prepare all of the Ramen, very fresh, including handmade noodles, so be patient with your dining experience. I would recommend booking reservations online ahead of time if know you're going to eat here. There is also a full bar with sake, soju, beer, cocktails, and wine! Super tasty, I'll be back!

I mean, we couldn't stay away. We tried the chocolate ramen today. It is an intereting dish to say the least. It was very delicious but lacked an ingredient that would have elevated the whole dish. We came to find out after that the dish typically came with sliced strawberries (I know it sounds different, but it was a worthy adventurous try). We tried the bun appetizers and Lupe, great customer service as always, was kind enough to get us one of each of the pork and the beef. Absolutely delicious. But the showstopper came by dessert. We ordered the Japanese cream puff and the chestnut cake. Perfectly light choux pastry with a not so sweet custard filling for the cream puff. The chestnut cake was something I have never tried before. A pound cake on the bottom with a cream top and a chestnut right in the middle of the cake. The flavor is subtle, yet deliberate. I wish Star Ramen served UCC coffee. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, the interior sets up an intimate dining experience with your chosen company AND your food.

Probably the gold standard for ramen, the broth is as good as it gets. Don't pass on the apps, which include an incredible mackerel bao. Given the summer heat wave I decided to try the spicy cold noodles-- I wasn't very impressed. The ground beef was too salty and the rest of the ingredients (spicy pickled ginger, kimchi and fresh lemon) were all the same spectrum of strong tanginess without something to balance/mellow it and made the freshmade noodles a lot less enjoyable. Will stick with ramen next time

From the first time I ate here to the last, I feel like the food here is pretty inconsistent. When I first ate here, when they barely opened, I felt the food was phenomenal. But ever since then, the food was never as good as the first. I've tried different variations of the ramen, appetizers, etc. Food was never horrible, but it has become just okay. The restaurant is fairly small with about 10 tables. I feel like the tables could be a little bigger because I feel like we never have enough room. Especially when we are seated on tables meant for only 2. It does seem to get packed but I never had to wait long to be seated. I would say that the prices are above average but I see value in paying extra for good Ramen. Service here has always been good. Staff is attentive and nice. I would say that the place does get a little loud, mainly because the tables are so close together. From what I have ordered here, I would say that the kimchi ramen was my least favorite. The texture of the meat was like ground beef which was a little off-putting. The flavor of the broth was lacking the traditional ramen broth. It didn't even have the traditional kimchi flavor. It just had the "spicy" flavor. The egg in the last ramen we ordered was also undercooked; yolk was too runny and hardly had any firm texture. Another mediocre dish I had was the takoyaki. half of them didn't have octopus bits in them. I would say that my favorite was the Ramen Star Ramen. This broth was by far the most flavorful. I think my last time here I made the bad choice of ordering the Everything Ramen. This bowl is probably a good example of overcomplicating a good thing. I felt it was just too much going on in one bowl. The next time I would probably just keep it simple with the Ramen Star bowl,

Brought my husband here for an early dinner tonight since I enjoyed it the first time I came for lunch. While we still thought the ramen was overall decent, service was quite disappointing. We arrived at 5:25, and got seated a few minutes after since we called ahead. Our orders didn't get taken until about 5:40, which was understandable as they seemed a bit short staffed. However, we didn't get our food or any water refills until 6:35, and all we had ordered were two bowls of ramen. We repeatedly saw the server go back to the kitchen to grab takeout orders, while the main chef only very occasionally brought out the dine in orders. It was disappointing to see the dine in experience being compromised in order to fill takeout orders. We ordered the Ramen Star and my husband ordered the Spicy Miso. We both added soft boiled eggs and husband added extra noodles to his bowl. Overall flavors were good. My egg was over-cooked while his was cooked perfectly, unfortunately. The consistency and ratio of his spicy miso broth was off and made his ramen more of a very thick sauce rather than a soup. I can definitely understand restaurants being short-staffed, but waiting almost an hour from the time we ordered for just two bowls of noodles was unacceptable and tainted the entire dining experience. The server never checked in with us, nor did he apologize for the wait when it was obvious that wait times were abysmal.

This is my favorite ramen restaurant in Denver, period. I almost want to use my influence and just leave it at that. Kidding of course, I will tell you why. The most important ingredient in ramen is the broth and the noodles being second. Not only do they make their noodles and broth onsite, the broth is created using an authentic tonkotsu recipe from Japan. I learned this from a friend who was stationed in Tokyo for a couple of years and knew the chef that trained at a ramen restaurant he dined at often. I might not have the story quite perfect, but the recipes and culinary technique were transplanted from Tokyo. I've had a few of their dishes and don't have a favorite as they were all equally delightful. Their signature tonkotsu style broth is cooked for several days and the rich taste validates its authenticity. The service is always polite as well and the atmosphere is usually zen. I have always left this place very satisfied and have a hard time going anywhere else.

Ramen Star is the only place I go for Ramen! In fact, it should be the only place anyone goes for ramen in Denver! I usually get the ramen star and add a soft boiled egg, and it is consistently awesome. The broth is so incredibly rich and tasty. If you have not tried this place, it is worth driving from very far distances!

I have never left a negative review of a restaurant in my entire life until now. I ate here several days ago - it took almost half an hour to get water and have our orders taken in a sleepy restaurant. It took over an hour for the food to come out and when it did the food was barely lukewarm. I had asked for sauce and after half an hour I got up and went to the expo in order to ask for it again. The kitchen staff seemed to be busy socializing in the kitchen and the front of the house was discreetly shooting liquor instead of serving their guests. I began working in restaurants a decade and a half ago and frankly, any restaurant I worked at would have probably fired me if I let Luke warm food come off the line and if there were guests coming to the expo in order to get condiments. If I had not been in polite company, I would have not tipped whatsoever and it is very rare I do not tip at least 20%. The atmosphere was good and the presentation of the food was good, but the service was legitimately the worst service I have ever had in my entire life and even at the seediest dives I frequented in my younger years, at least the food came out hot. For the price point this was not a great experience to put it mildly. Pro tip to the BOH and FOH, you start having staff drinks once the floor's been cleared - not when you still have almost a dozen people sitting and if you have a view into the kitchen from the floor, certainly do not let your guests see you drinking and screwing off while their drinks are empty, food has been ordered almost an hour ago and people are not paid up. If the work ethic of the BOH and FOH could be improved, I'm sure this place would be excellent. Until that happens, this ranks as the worst dining experience I have ever had. Please fix the restaurant and as some other people have noted, if Ramen Star is truly focused on to go - then shut the floor down and fire up a ghost kitchen and sell online only. Don't waste people's time and money who come to dine in by treating them like an inconvenience at best and a nuisance at worst.

Heard so many good things about and have wanted to try for the longest time. The decor and the noodle making machines don't disappoint. But just because the noodles are house made don't make it the best "ramen". It's also about ratio (soup to noodle; salty to sweet; texture to thickness), temperature, and ingredients. The first failure I noticed was the egg (in the signature "ramen star). It's simply a soft boiled whole egg, if not for the squirting egg yolk when you bite into it, you'd think it's a hard boiled egg, yes, that boring. I thought ramen eggs were supposed to be marinated... The noodles are tooooo thick, don't give off that "ramen" feel. Felt more like pasta, I needed to spend a lot of teeth power to chew, not very slurp-able. Especially the "TSUKEMEN STAR", which is a dipping noodle. The dipping sauce was so thick and slimy, and really really salty (with all the long cooking time, I can imagine) All of our bowls were lacking the umami factor, they were just salty. IF I ever return I'd try the Chocolate Ramen. At first it sounded weird, now come to think of it, perhaps a little sweetness would be what's complimentary to a savory bowl of noodles. A big "IF" because the temperature inside was set to so low that I was freezing most of the time and the noodle bowls got cold quite quickly. Still yet, your worst day with a bowl of ramen is probably not half bad!

Noodles were very good. Ordered and loved the thick broth. Added soft boiled egg and fried garlic. Thoroughly enjoyed the noodles themselves and the broth. Complaint: the "sous vide" meat products are not good. Usually frozen, my pork was kind of slimy, ended up not eating that part of the dish. The service was nice, friendly waiter/host who made reasonable food accommodations when asked. Not too quick but the wait didn't feel like forever either, pretty reasonable. The ambiance was clearly Japanese inspired and was quite quaint. I found it odd that house remixed pop songs were playing. Interesting juxtaposition of music and visuals, however not overwhelmingly out of place.

I'm sorry but why did that ramen have a strong odor coming out of it and it was not very pleasant. I got the $28 ramen. The experience feels short in so many different ways. The soup older was one of them because I would expect like a pleasant aroma but I never experienced anything like that until now. Chashu pork was probably overcooked because of meat fell apart and it had this granule feeling in my mouth. Fried Chicken was like $10 and we got 2 pieces only Service was awesome, but I cannot really recommend the food experience to other people overall.

When I am craving tsukemen, there's really only Ramen Star that I've been able to find even offers it. They make their noodles in house and they are delicious. Boyfriend E thinks the sauces are too rich and adjusted for American flabor references but I like it! Saucy but not as heavy as Uncle. The only downside is that Ramen Star is pretty pricey - for two ramens, an extra softboiled egg and 4$ extra bamboo shoot (don't pay for the extra bamboo it is not worth it), our total was 65. I think this every time and still come back, just not as often as I would like!

Excellent ramen. I got the everything star ramen. Amazing broth, great service, fun 90's music. Only thing is the rancid street smell when you walk in the door. Don't let the smell deter you.

I came here on a cold February Sunday night before traveling back home to Miami and the place still had a wait! It was cute and the atmosphere was super clean and cozy. It didn't take us long to get sat though, maybe 15 min of waiting and it was so worth it. I ordered a guava juice which i didn't expect for them to have and is pretty unique but it was really good, although full of sugar and guilt in a can lol. But The ramen was top tier. All the ingredients were so fresh and delicious, and they offer toppings ala carte so i made sure to get a pierogi added i got the miso ramen and absolutely loved it. There's really nothing like quality ramen on a cold day. The beef was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, the egg was poached just enough to not get over cooked, the nori was fresh and crispy and overall the entire dish was a pleasure. Ramen can be hit or miss sometimes but ramen star was definitely a hit. When we go back to Denver I'll definitely be back!

Ramen star is tucked into a neighborhood, in an unassuming storefront. The service is fantastic- and the couple employees (it's a very small operation!) take great care in their customers. My husband got the traditional ramen star- it was savory and delicious. All the noodles are made in-house with their imported machine (on display through a window). The pork was tender and well-seasoned, and all of the toppings on the ramen were so well prepared. I got the chocolate ramen... it was, interesting? Not totally what I expected, and I'm not sure I'd get it again (?) The chocolate mouse was tasty on its own, but when the flavors mixed, it was... strange. Maybe I'll stick to something more traditional next time. Looking forward to coming back if we're in the neighborhood!

Updated review: Im bummed to share that Ramen Star has really changed since they first opened. My husband and I both agreed that the noodles no longer tasted homemade, the broth had zero flavor, and there was very little veggies. They've also raised their prices and it just isn't worth the $19 a bowl! Guess we'll be going back to Uncle where things have stayed consistently good!

I picked up ramen star after a long day skiing in Breckenridge and it was just what the doctor ordered! I usually stick to spicy chicken ramen at uncle, so at Ramen Star I tried the Spicy Miso. The beef/pork was delicious, as were the veggies and noodles and the broth was fantastic. The spicy miso was slightly too spicy for me in all honesty, but very very good. The space itself is small and feels authentic, with more character than Uncle. I am looking forward to visiting again and eating at the restaurant, though will probably need to prepare for a wait if you are visiting on a Friday or Saturday night.

Ramen Star "Star Ramen is the best tonkotsu ramen that I have ever had, the same sentiment was given by two of my other dining partners . The appetizers also had high scores; gyoza 4 Chicken karage 5 Shrimp shomei 4 Pork buns 5 The ramen was the super star of the show, you can really tell by the complex depth of the tonkotsu in the time it takes to prepare it. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal at R S.

Got the Ramen Star. It had a good flavor but the pork was literally ALL fat and the salvageable parts were bad. Barely any broth too, I was basically just eating noodles. No thanks :/

I had the spicy miso ramen bowl and it was delicious! The waitstaff was wonderful! What a great lunch on a cold day!

Amazing food, I had the spicy miso and everything from the broth to the protein to the noodles was incredible. I'm also gluten free and their gluten free noodles were so good! Highly recommend.

So good! The spicy ramen is no joke.. it is sppppiiiiiicccyyyy. Glad I got the paste on the side, because the broth was already super hot. It was delicious tho, will def be ordering from here often.

Not sure what happened but between the service and food, we were so disappointed. Our appetizer was fried to oblivion and still sent out of the kitchen. We had to get up from our table to ask for another drink and our noodles were greasy and one dish was barely warm. Our server who was serving every table in the restaurant seemed to be very green and did not return to our table after taking our initial order until the very end. We didn't eat most of our main courses and she wasn't clued into our dissatisfaction as evidenced by how little we ate. Something has gone wrong because this place came highly recommended. Hoping it was just a fluke... but I don't think I would risk going back.

Very delicious! Ramen is their specialty and they do not dissappoint with their home made Japanese style noodles. The ramen noodles capture flavors which only fresh home made noodles can. We've often been there for lunch. The appetizers are very delicious for the start of a really good meal. Often overlooked, the miso soup is excellent too! My mother is from Akita and is quick to verbalize her displeasure of bad food. She says Ramen Star is "ichiban!" I agree.

This is another great place we visited while in Denver. The best ramen place ever! It's so good that we had to go back the following day. First, we came here for dinner, and the second day we came in for lunch. We called to make a reservation. We spoke with Tony who welcomed us when we arrived and he was also our waiter, a great server. After dinner we had a chance to meet the owner, also a Chef and we said thank you for our delicious meals. He's young and hardworking, probably never took a day off. Wow Chef! Get some rest! So here's the story. On our first night we had edamame, Shishito pepper, dumpling, squid tentacles and spicy miso ramen. Unbelievable! Everything was exquisite! Everything especially the spicy miso ramen. You must must must order this one. You'll thank me for that. We've been to many ramen places in NY and elsewhere but this one stands out because it's so authentic with the spicy flavor that is prepared by the chef. What he does is unique. He put the paste of spicy miso on top of the soup and we stir it ourselves to get the rich flavor to the entire bowl. So rich in flavor and we couldn't believe how delicious this ramen was. The edamame was fresh, shishito pepper was amazing too. On the second day, Hubby got the same ramen and I got their signature dish, ramen star. Another awesome day at Ramen Star! We saw the making-of-the-ramen room behind our table in the other room. It's good to learn that the Chef prepares ramen in the house using a machine imported from Japan. Awesome! Thanks to Chef Takashi-San and crew. Delicious Ramen and food and excellent service!

Something was horribly off tonight. Have been a few times before and thought this was one of the best ramen places in the city. Not tonight. Came in early on a Saturday. 3 sat tables in the restaurant (mostly empty). Server took 15 minutes to arrive. Bao (pork belly) was overloaded and drowning in sauce. Chatsu tasted odd and dry. Wonton strips everywhere on top of the bun. First time anywhere I had a bao bun fall apart. Chicken karaage was over fried and tasted of burnt grease. And then the ramen... something was off with the Star Ramen broth. It was sour, watered down, wrong color, and had visible scum. Even the picked ginger on the karaage plate was bad (tasted like soap, possibly beginning of mildew). Chatsu on the ramen also overcooked. Neither of us got far with the ramen and told the server it wasn't good and we didn't want it. She came back and said the manager would take 1/2 ramen orders off the bill. No visit from the manager. No questions as to what was wrong. It seemed like they were pushing out sub par food, almost certainly old/recycled broth, and they really didn't care. Used to think this was the best ramen in Denver. Will not be going back. Spent $70 on a $hit meal. (Review crafted between sour burps, a tight and queasy stomach, while sitting on the toilet)

Legitimately the worst Tonkotsu I've ever had in my life. Salty oily broth with no depth or flavor.

This is my mom and I's new ramen spot since the other one we went to has a rude owner haha ANYWAYS about Ramen Star, the staff is super nice both times we've been :) first we had Margo then Takashi I think it was and they were awesome. I feel so great walking out of there since the food is actually healthy and wow do they have a good assortment of options. They even have these little delicious Chile relleno raviolis?! I love the shoyu ramen with an egg added it has this pierogi in it which is such an interesting and tasty addition! The ambiance is cute but they can definitely get busy since it's a pretty small place so I recommend getting there early ish or making reservations. Lastly, street parking out front is easy since this isn't an overdeveloped part of Denver yet haha so that's always nice. I recommend! :)

I've been to Ramen Star on two occasions and was impressed both times! The restaurant is simple and straightforward. Buns -- would you like that with pork, beef or vegetable. Shumai. Edamame. All great appetizers to start! The Takoyaki (or fried octopus) was my favorite! You know it's good when the hot juices squirt out during your first bite! As for the ramen, the noodles are made in-house on a special machine from Japan. The owner Takashi learned how to make legit ramen in Tokyo and brought his skills back to Denver. The Ramen Star and Spicy Ramen both have flavorful broth and toppings -- but it's really the noodles that make the bowls so special! The only thing is, I'd really love more broth! Takashi says the broth takes 15 hours to make!
