It finally happened! Ramen Tatsu-Ya up north in the burbs, Lakeline meets Cedar park and my foodie self from my younger 20's living in the arboretum/domain is thrilled.
I have eaten at Tatsu-Ya numerous times since its inception days of stomping its way into Austin bringing into the foodie world, the obsession of what is their tonkatsu broth, yum. Heavy, rich, divine and extra sodium heavy like ramen does, it's just as tasty as I remembered.
The interior in this one is the same vibe and style as the OG off Payton gin, very kitschy, artsy and super beautiful with the natural lighting.
Service is just the same, a line awaits you, you get a number, and then once you order, the staff will seat you at an appropriate opening. The perk, the communal table is much smaller and there are smaller tables for small parties! No bar seating here boo like the OG, but that's ok!
I ordered the #9 Curry Nu Skool which is vegetarian broth and added an extra ajitama, yum! Missing their dipping ramen on the menu which I didn't see, but all the sides = yum.
The outside space has heaters for a chilly day, and it's perfect with your hot piping ramen! Welcome Tatsu-Ya and can't wait to dine here again and again! Slurps up!
