Google
Absolute joy in a bowl. Decided on the OG for my first visit and the chili oil dumplings. The pork in the Ramen was so tender, failing apart after a fist bite. Every ingredient from broth to meat to sauces were so flavorful. Staff was knowledgeable and checked on you throughout the dinning experience. It was cool enough to sit on the patio and I enjoyed. I'll be back for sure.

Google
Place can get very popular and operates by order first at the counter and then sit at a table. So plan for that. Sometimes the kitchen will randomly shut down for 15 min so also plan for that too. Ramen was ok, added a corn bomb but it was just butter so imagine added like 2 tablespoons of butter to your ramen lol

Google
Ramen tasted delicious; the Chashu Pork Belly slice was flavored and juicy. Karaage was slightly crispy outside and tasted good but nothing impressive. The restaurant interior was not spacious. There would be a long line waiting to place the order during the peak of dining hours; it may hurt the dining experience a bit. There is the outside seating. If it’s not too hot or too cold, that would be another option.

Google
No wait on a Friday was amazing 🙌🏽 The ramen was delicious, the broth was super creamy and rich and flavorful. Also tried the Brussels and they were sweet with a hint of savory and a great texture. Very laid back atmosphere and lighting. Will return!

Came here for the first time with my friend. The staff was quite nice and helpful. My friend orders OG and I ordered vegan curry ramen. It was good but the vegan one can be improved a bit by adding mushroom seasonings! Good flavor but umami was the missing one.

Google
This ruined shops ramen for us, because the ramen here AMAZING!! We ordered The Mi-so-hot, Mi-so-not, and sho-yu Ramen. We came from Rockport and didn’t know this is what we needed. Hands down the best Ramen out there, every time we travel here, this will be our go-to. Im surprised on how affordable the food here is, considering the quality of everything they serve here. The food here was soo good, it had us asking the manager here for advice and tips on how to make ramen like this so we could try back at home. They were very informative, super cool people. Music taste here is amazing as well. A bonus is they’re also LGBTQ friendly! I honestly wish i had tipped them more, but i will next time!

Google
I bought vegan ramen (the one without curry), and it was delicious. There are only two vegan ramen options here. The service is good and friendly. When I tried the sake and didn't like the taste, they exchanged it for another one for free. The atmosphere in this place is pleasant; I really liked the red and white Chinese lanterns on the ceiling outside. The place is quite busy, but there's no need to wait for a table. We were immediately seated at an available table. The portions here are quite large, and I was more than satisfied.

Google
Walked out. No customer service. We stood there trying to figure out how it works as far as ordering and nobody said anything. Place looked good but lost my business without any kind of customer service. Not ever coming back and I drove close by and found a great ramen spot. Learn customer service service!!!

Yelp
Another solid ramen option here in Cedar Park. I really like the cool decor inside, including movie posters and figurines. It's pretty casual, you order up front and they bring the food to your tables. I appreciated the staff being patient while I was indecisive lol. We tried the Tsukemen (dipping ramen) and the Mi-So-Not. The dipping broth was very good, though slightly on the saltier side. But with water it wasn't an issue. The miso broth was excellent, very flavorful and smooth. Only knock was it could use a little more ingredients. The ground pork got separated easily by the broth. Overall a good experience, we would recommend!

Yelp
Love there is a location up northwest now! Same great taste, lovely service and easy to get to. We did to-go and it was seamless to pick up our order. This is definitely not a traditional ramen place, but the taste is probably more palatable to an American audience. I love the add ins and broth options! Their vegan miso broth is also fantastic!

Yelp
Went in today and they fixed the beer, the Tsukemen was on point and a lovely lady at the counter was legit genki! Thank you for fixing up this location!

Yelp
Super good! Noodles and broth was amazing and everything came out very fast. Will be back soon.
google avatar

Goodness I.

Yelp
I love RAMEN TATSU-YA!! This place is so great and I'm glad they have a bigger Austin location (right by cedar park). There was plenty of seating when we came and the lady behind the counter was super helpful. The flavor of my broth was chefs kiss so freaking good. Will always be back when I'm in CP!!

Yelp
It's back! The OG Tsukemen which helped put RTY on the map is finally on the menu again. The "new Coke" was okay but our "Classic Coke" is what dreams are made of. In fact, I'll go ahead and say it: it is one of my very favorite plates of food in all of Austin. (Or bowl?) I not only like this northern outpost for RTY, but prefer it. Parking is easy and free and safe. There's other stuff immediately nearby, including the Alamo Drafthouse. The restaurant itself is nice looking and staffed by nice people who know their stuff. And the Tsukemen. Hot damn. Welcome back.

Yelp
I was surprised to realize I haven't yet reviewed Ramen Tatsu-Ya. This is our family's go to ramen place. Good food, good service and a nice atmosphere. We love to eat here and then walk over to HEB or one of the many other close by establishments.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to try out a different Ramen Tatsu-Ya spot, but I have to say, it didn't quite compare to my usual favorite. The location was smaller with limited seating, but the way they handled seating was disappointing--I sat down while my friend was ordering our ramen and was told I needed to get up until she finished the order. Despite the awkward seating policy, one of the staff members was very nice and attentive, which I appreciated. The ramen was good, but the overall experience could have been better.
google avatar

Yelp
It honestly upsets me that this place is not at least a 4 start at a minimum. I love this place. I am from Washington DC and everytime I visit Austin this is my go to spot. Having visited Japan everything about this place is so authentic. I love that the tsukemen is back on the menu. It's very filling and the noodles are perfect!! The broth was creamy and delicious and the spice bomb we got extra was such a blast of flavor. Staff that the front was helpful and very kind in helping us order. Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy your food.

Yelp
We went early today and couple items on the menu were not available and couldn't order extra noodles. The noodles that we did get tasted weird. We tend to go OG location so coming here for the first time in lakeline was a disappointment. Originally we tried ordering online but it wasn't available. This place is struggling in quality and quantity. Hopefully we just caught them in a bad day.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the OG ramen. It was good but I wasn't a big fan of the broth. It was a little heavy .. I didn't like the way my chest felt as I kept eating it. The toppings were cooked really well though. If I liked the broth more, I would give it 5 stars. Also, my friend and I ordered the Karaage. This was our first time at this location. My friend said she was shocked at how small the portion was compared to other locations and the chicken was fried a bit more than usual. The meat was good and perfectly moist, but I agree that the crust was cooked a bit too long. Dishonorable mention: The food took a while to come out
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent ramen in a casual and laid back atmosphere. There is an outdoor seating area, however the day we went it was 100degrees so we sat inside. I had the Sho-yu Tonkotsu and my spouse had the Tsukemen. We were strategic in what we ordered as neither of us had been here before and we both wanted to try a traditional ramen and the dipping broth style. We were not disappointed. The flavor of each was unique and delicious. But the stand out truly was the Tsukemen dipping broth. The condensed broth, the udon style noodles, the flavor...fabulous all around. I also loved the pun style shirts worn by the staff (Slurp Wars, The Ramenes, etc) The only reason I knocked it down to 4 stars is that it took a bit longer for our food to come out then we expected. They weren't busy yet (although by the time we left the place was definitely getting full) and we saw a few people that ordered after us get their bowls before us. However it was totally worth the wait!

Yelp
This place was hopping on the weekend of our first freeze of 2024. PLEASE DON'T BE THOSE PEOPLE TO PANIC AT THE LINE AND SEATING AND GO CLAIM YOUR SPOT. JUST NO. The cashiers are keeping the line and orders up with the tables that become available as people order. They may stop orders to buss and then continue. If you claim your spot you ruin the flow of things. Food comes out quick and it is all so charged with flavor. It lives up to all the hype around it. Can't Waite to try their other concepts.

Yelp
Me-so-hot! & a bold passionate hibiscus sake drink to accompany, were the perfect combination for these hot mamas date. Thank you, Ramen Tatsu-Ya for proving that all that hot & steamy, savory, creamy broth along with the perfect al-dente ramen noodles, plus the toppings galore, would warm our souls. Also, great job in decorating your outside dining area! The lanterns and wall mural are definitely IG worthy! 11/22/23

Yelp
I had just returned from Japan a couple weeks earlier and was really craving some great Ramen. I had heard of Ramen Tatsuya and Austin, but never had visited. Was so happy I went to this site in Cedar Park. The Ramen was excellent. Also ordered some Gyoza, which were tiny and OK, but that Ramen was excellent. I will be going back regularly.

Summer P.

Yelp
Disappointed. After hearing from someone that this place had the "best ramen ever" I was so excited to try it. I don't mind paying a decent price for ramen, as it usually means better/ fresher ingredients. However this ramen was pretty bad, the noodles had the consistency of maruchan ramen. The broth was not creamy, it tasted like over seasoned water with a ton of oil. First time in a long time I genuinely could not finish the food. Not to mention we were never told our order was ready so we had been waiting for 30 -45min and it had just been sitting in the to go section.

Yelp
So, I'm basically a meat and potatoes guy so I was definitely out of my comfort zone here. Never mind, the staff has encountered people like me before. To me, The staff is the show here. They patiently and respectfully guided me through the ordering process and carefully and completely answered all of my (Possibly stupid) questions without ever laughing at me even once. We went there yesterday for a granddaughter's birthday. She is now twelve. Two unusual points : 1. She chose this restaurant. 2. It was December 15th and we dined comfortably outside. As I implied above, the staff is totally cool and helpful to a fault. We never lacked for anything. I can attest, to the members of our party who knew what they were eating, they thououghly enjoyed their food. As a former restaurant owner / operator, someone chose and trained the staff wisely and thoroughly. My thanks to alll for an enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
Return visit to Tatsu-Ya only to find it was literally standing room only!!! The place was packed!!! Even the outdoor patio seating was full. Retro music playing in the background danced over the hum of busied chatter, a chorus of slurps and satisfied customers. My sons and I were eager to see what the food was about. Appetizer was the Kizami sweet and sour yodas. My sons didn't care for the Brussel sprouts but I thought they were delicious. Next, we had the #4 Mi-so-hot (tankatsu). Spiced to perfection and savory! I ordered the #6 ol' shook (assari). This is probably my favorite now!! Incredible and the egg was awesome!!
google avatar

Parker B.

Yelp
The house favorite ramen was spectacular! The server was kind and explained everything in detail! And the restaurant was clean, and well laid out!
google avatar

Kenny N.

Yelp
It was a nice cool day for ramen. Got the Shoyu ramen with spicy bomb and then a curry rice bowl. Service was good, curry bowl came out first and then my ramen. Wish it came out the same time or closely together as my girlfriend almost finish her rice bowl before I got my ramen. This location feel less busier than their other location which is good. There is indoor and outdoor seating at this location.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
I think ramen is something I never really crave, so when we went here I ordered the spicy miso. The broth is really thick and I'm not the biggest fan of the texture of the noodles here. It wasn't that spicy for me, but I wish the broth wasn't as thick. There was a pretty decent line for a Saturday night and seating inside is kinda limited, so we ate on the patio. The staff are very nice and the food came out pretty quickly.

Eric N.

Yelp
The food is still good, I do think the quality has slipped quite a bit over the last 3-4 years. The reason for the 2 star review is they don't give you nearly as much food as before which is obvious since they still use the same sized bowls. The bowls used to be filled to the top and now my 13 year old daughter can finish the entire thing and still be hungry. Not for $17 a bowl. Can't recommend anymore.
google avatar

Sarena T.

Yelp
Okay spot for ramen! Good vibes and good portions. However, I'm really not a fan of how all of their ramen has a thick tonkatsu broth. It's heavy and savory but sometimes you just want a lighter ramen meal. I've had ramen many times in my life but shoyu ramen never has a tonkatsu broth. The bombs add a good spice but it would be nice to have the spice level included in the price. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. It can get pretty crowded at times. The people I was with said the restaurant didn't allow then to sit down until the whole party was there. Bathrooms are gender combined. The yuzu ice cream sandwich is really tasty!
google avatar

Kristina H.

Yelp
So unfortunately not good! So disappointing! What a difference 6 months makes. Not sure what happened here.
google avatar

Elise N.

Yelp
Easy seating on a Friday evening for 6 people. Put our order in the front. My sister's rice bowl came out first with the edamame. Then the ramen came out. My daughter liked her OG ramen but it had a little too much other stuff in it like sesame seeds and green onions. I got the miso not with extra rice cake. After a few bites. I needed something to change the palate. Maybe it was the ground pork that blended in too much. I could have used a little hot sauce. Would definitely return to try something else. Good service. Easy parking. Large servings.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying I have no knowledge whatsoever of what makes ramen authentic/inauthentic. That said, I have been to several ramen places around town and always loved it. I had been wanting to try Ramen Tatsu-ya because it had good reviews, but I just wasn't a fan. I ordered The OG, because my favorite ramen in Cedar Park is tonkotsu, but I did not even want to finish this one. The broth was totally different from what I'm used to, and so strong-tasting that it completely overpowered the other ingredients. The broth didn't seem thicker as I saw other reviewers say, it just didn't taste good. No nuance of flavor, just strong. I could tell the egg was cooked perfectly, but I couldn't taste it. Very disappointing, especially when you're paying so much. I maybe pushed myself to eat half. My friend and I had also ordered the gyoza (dumplings) and Karakaage (fried chicken) appetizers. The dumplings were pretty standard. The karakaage were yummy, just disappointing that my favorite dish was an appetizer. Staff were nice and the location was cute, just didn't like the ramen.

Elten L.

Yelp
Service: SLOW. we have been going to Tatsuya since they first open on the original location. I would say this location is super slow.. WiFI: NO. also bad cellular connection in this area.
google avatar

Kyle J.

Yelp
There's not that many Ramen places around where I live, so this is a welcome change of pace to see so close to home. I've been to the other location before that's located farther down south on 183, so to go to another location was awesome. The food is still as good as I remember and the atmosphere was great. My only complaint was that my ramen just needed more ... well ... ramen! I don't think my bowl had enough. There was a plentiful amount of toppings but a little more noodles would have sealed the deal for me. I'm grateful I got to go back to another ramen restaurant, and I'll definitely go again sometime.
google avatar

Penelope J.

Yelp
i can't praise this place enough. by far my favorite ramen i've tried ! i always get the OG tonkatsu ramen and it's consistently delicious. staff is always friendly as well :)
google avatar

Rolando N.

Yelp
You come here for the ramen and the ramen is about as good as it gets. Broth has a deep pork, savory flavor that reminds me of the Ramen shops in the Shinjuku alleyways. Just outstanding. So happy that this location is closer to home. Service is friendly and fast.

B T.

Yelp
My family and I were in Austin. Tried this restaurant for the first time. Stepped in, and quickly realized it wasn't a full service restaurant. When we tried to order, I asked if we could substitute the pork for tofu. My family prefers tofu. The man at the cashier hesitated for about 3 seconds, then he proceeded to tell me there would be a charge. 2 seconds later, he then said we don't do substitutions. He was clearly making up policies on the fly. He had zero intentions to accommodate our diet. He didn't seem happy. Looked like he hates his job! We left and went somewhere else.
google avatar

Brooke D.

Yelp
I got some ramen to go from here this weekend and it was delicious! I got the miso-not ramen and the broth had great flavor. I will definitely come back here whenever I'm in the mood for ramen again. This location was really busy on Saturday night which was awesome to see. They had some really nice outdoor seating as well but we just got our food to go and they were very fast! Very good service :)
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
Now we understand all the buzz! It was quite tasty. Friday night line was long... Don't try to save a table. Not allowed because once you are ordering, they find you the next open table. Josh was outstanding. His professional and friendly customer service gets 5 stars for sure. There are unique drink choices for adults and kids. The ramen was fresh and flavorful. You can ask them to leave some ingredients out if you don't like them. We will definitely come back...during a less busy time.

Yelp
I remember having Ramen Tatsu-Ya when I worked close to their first location. It blew me away. So I had to try it again. Oh so good. I ordered the Mi So Not and cold green tea. Since I love the corn bomb I added it to my ramen. There is limited seating for the amount of people coming in. Arrive early. I found the Prices okay for a filling bowl of soup. My favorite part is still the marinaded boiled egg. Best bone broth soup in Austin. As usual, I couldn't finish it so I got the rest to go. The cold green tea was okay. Most likely not ordering it again By the time I left, the place was packed and a long line to order was filling up.
google avatar

Tae-Young U.

Yelp
I get the Mi-so-hot and also the OG. I love the spice of miso-hot. I've been to several locations and they are very consistent until I came to this location. It's not the best ramen I've had, but it's not the worst. If it's around the area, I would go but it wouldn't be my first choice. I found the broth very salty and the 4 other people I went with said the same thing. But, the chasu inside the ramen is very good and the egg is super creamy (but also very salty). They use the thin noodles for the OG ramen, so it's nice and easy to eat! The customer service is very good though! There are times where there are lines, but the service is relatively fast. The seating area is also very nice and clean + seems like there is more space than the other locations!

Yelp
It finally happened! Ramen Tatsu-Ya up north in the burbs, Lakeline meets Cedar park and my foodie self from my younger 20's living in the arboretum/domain is thrilled. I have eaten at Tatsu-Ya numerous times since its inception days of stomping its way into Austin bringing into the foodie world, the obsession of what is their tonkatsu broth, yum. Heavy, rich, divine and extra sodium heavy like ramen does, it's just as tasty as I remembered. The interior in this one is the same vibe and style as the OG off Payton gin, very kitschy, artsy and super beautiful with the natural lighting. Service is just the same, a line awaits you, you get a number, and then once you order, the staff will seat you at an appropriate opening. The perk, the communal table is much smaller and there are smaller tables for small parties! No bar seating here boo like the OG, but that's ok! I ordered the #9 Curry Nu Skool which is vegetarian broth and added an extra ajitama, yum! Missing their dipping ramen on the menu which I didn't see, but all the sides = yum. The outside space has heaters for a chilly day, and it's perfect with your hot piping ramen! Welcome Tatsu-Ya and can't wait to dine here again and again! Slurps up!
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
Really liked this location! Mostly because there's easy parking... but Ramen Tatsu-Ya is always a good idea. We're never disappointed by our ramen, but I will say this time I ordered the spicy miso and it was soooooooo hot. My goodness. Service was great. The person at the register gave us some great recommendations and was super nice. The shop is beautifully decorated like all of the other locations. On the smaller side in comparison to the location on the east side but still lots of places to sit. Probably better for smaller groups though!
google avatar

Yelp
Found a hair in my ramen today :( I LOVE this place, but today was just a sad day for ramen, not to mention I had it to-go so did not notice the hair until I got home. So unfortunate
google avatar

Subha R.

Yelp
We've been coming to the Alamo Drafthouse for years and we've always wanted to go. Finally we went and it didn't disappoint. The location is really great so you can make a day of it in that shopping complex. We entered on a Saturday afternoon and all tables indoors were full. Since it was a misty over cast day we ended up sitting on the enclosed patio (which is dog friendly!!) we ordered the curry nu skool, Japanese curry, and spicy edamame. The ramen and curry were extra flavorful and tasty. The edamame is okay ish. Water is self serve. They have a nice setup with the chopsticks spoons and they even have the little chopsticks helpers. We will definitely be back.

Holly C.

Yelp
Solid ramen spot! So nice to have a Round Rock location as well. You order and pay up front which is nice so you don't feel rushed to finish food. If you're directed to sit in the middle, you'll probably sit on square backless chairs. They work well considering how ramen is eaten hunched over a delicious hot bowl. The decor, art, and music is loud and fun in a casual manner. I would consider this restaurant to be quite hip and trendy. My favorite was the OG. Perhaps next time I would add corn and an extra piece of chashu!
google avatar

Shailey K.

Yelp
Ambiance is great! Service is good. Food is ok. I got the curry bowl (vegetarian) because I loved it when I was in Japan. It was ok I don't think I would order it again. Felt disproportional between curry and rice. I also ordered Tofu on the side for protein and they only gave me fried pieces with not much tofu inside.
google avatar

Vandesha L.

Yelp
I love having a ramen spot closer to home. Plenty of parking and you don't have to walk far. My food came out hot unlike other places. I love the add on's and how the menu gives vegan options. My favorite was the corn bomb. The service is simple, you order at the counter and take a number then your food comes out to your table. The drinks were a little weak for the price. The location is small but they do have outdoor seating with the misting fans. Overall we will come back because the food alone is delicious and as close to authentic as you can get in this area.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place from the vibes down to the noodles. Always quick service as it's an order at the front and sit down eat & go type place. They have many options in terms of ramen from spice level to yummy add ins and the flavors of all of them are amazing - you will not be disappointed! Staff is always welcoming and friendly, prices are reasonable. Great spot especially on a chilly fall/winter night!
google avatar

Laurie W.

Yelp
The ramen and sides here are excellent. Always add a chili bomb! This is our family's go to for ramen and it's baby approved. She loves the chicken and chashu pork.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
We have tried all their locations, we LOVE the one on Lamar Blvd. That one is our FAVORITE ! This one is good but the service is way better at other locations. We ate here a week ago and they forgot sooooo many things we order with our ramen. Still good ramen, just different service than we've had at the other locations.
google avatar

Lakisha D.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here. I ordered the twice fried chicken dish which was really good and the pork belly rice bowl in which the meat was very tender and rice cooked perfectly. However, it was greatly under seasoned and had was too many green onions. Nevertheless, the service was great! The food came out fast, hot and fresh. The place draws quite a crowd and I absolutely loved the decore! I'll be back again for sure.
google avatar

N S.

Yelp
Vegan option (I got the curry broth) is good, and very filling, if you are not a chashu girl. Really enjoyed the thin noodles and the added toppings. Broth definitely could have been hotter. Overall, a very hearty meal with pleasant outdoor seating.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
The staff is always so nice and I love the vibe. That's the pros. The cons. It's not good. Maybe it's just this location? We've eaten here several times in hopes that it will improve... it hasn't. They only give you half an egg which I find tacky, their broths are not good, the pork meat is pretty good but its favor never matches the broth. This is Austin. All of the ramen places are really amazing. I wouldn't say there's stiff competition because you just can't go wrong with any of them- except this place. This is the only spot I've disliked everything I've tried.
google avatar

Yelp
Ol'school ramen is the best . Service is great. The place is always crowded but it's worth it.
