Google
time coming to Ramen Tatsu-Ya for the “CrawRamen” and it was delicious! Walking in the ambiance was very inviting and the decor was perfect. The staff were very friendly and did great with providing recommendations. The double fried chicken with house made sauce was perfection! Will definitely be back to try more.

8 month follow up at bottom Okay so hear me out, ramen TatsuYa is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, I may be a bit biased but hear me out. They got really good food for two people for <$25, 38 oz of pure goodness for $20 so doing some simple math, you’re paying ¢52 for an oz here. Not bad considering half of a bowl stuffs me the head manager serving was named Joshua; he went above and beyond serving me, He asked me immediately after he dropped off my food if I needed anything like silverware. He brought me a bag and a to go box when I requested and was quick about it. I timed my order because I’m the kind of person that does that and the time from me placing the order and receiving it was literally 5:32.45. Rapid response time for such a small restaurant. Overall if I could I’d give 6 stars for this place, they’re a great place to eat at, the environment of it’s very laid back and relaxed. Honestly I appreciate the work yall do here 8 month later follow up: Yes Joshua is still the manager and yes I’m still his twin so I’m biased. For staff team: Joshua is an extremely hard worker. From what I’ve seen, Joshua is never not on his feet running around helping people. He gave my friend a discount even when I told him he didn’t need to. He’s a great twin and a hard worker too from what I can tell. The food here is still good and still very worth the price I still can’t finish a bowl on my own it’s way too big of a portion

We saw this place last week and we decided to try it out this weekend. Maybe because the weather was a bit chilly, the place was busy but the good thing was, the staff would take orders when a table became available, so that we did not have to wait for someone to leave to be seated after placing the order. Once seated, the food came out relatively fast; I tried their MI-SO-NOT Tonkotsu and their Gyoza (pan fried dumplings). I think the broth had a good flavor and the ramen noodles were nicely cooked. Can't say I was a fan of the shredded Napa cabbage and the amount of scallions in the ramen but overall, I enjoyed it very much. Gyoza was average like any other place, so I won't comment too much about it. 😅 I tried out my son's MI-SO-HOT ramen broth at the end and I think that's what I will order next time.

This was my first time to eat here and it was awesome. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Loved the lemongrass cucumber limeade and the #3. Will totally be back soon.

4/21/2025 Update: Came to this location and was going to get the Mi-So-Not add mushrooms and chasu which is my normal go-to for Tatsuya. Decided instead today to venture and try their special the Crawmen. It has tonkotsu, crawfish, andouille, bayou butter, corn & peppers, ajitama. I was pleasantly surprised with the richness of the broth, the bold flavors as if you are eating a crawfish boil in a pot with ramen noodles, and the buttery goodness. Pro tip: start eating the broth as-is and once you get to a point where the richness gets a little heavy then start to squeeze some of the lemon to change the flavor thus cutting into some of the richness. Highly recommend this special that's available until 5/28/2025. Original review: This is very similar to the other Ramen Tatsuya locations. Which is actually what you expect for consistency when it comes to expanding with additional storefronts. The chashu here is very tender and flavorful. It could very well be the best in town when it comes to just the chashu. If my wife were to go to this place, she would say that the broth is lukewarm. From what I understand, in Japan, this is very common. I would say that I prefer my broth somewhat to the middle hot range. This is more in the middle. As for the broth, it is very rich and can be salty depending on what you put in the Ramen bowl. Overall, it's very consistent for what I have experienced at other locations. I'm glad to have a place close to where I live. It is a solid Ramen. Is it the best in town? I don't think so, but it is consistent and fills the need for tasty Ramen in the area; 100%.

Went here for dinner and it was a little chilly outside and they make you wait outside until they have space inside for seating. Not the best way to start to dining experience. I ordered the Mi-So-Hot and they were able to add extra veggies. My husband ordered the Sho-Yu. For the price, we could have made this at home and it would have been a better atmosphere without the drive to Round Rock. We didn’t even get drink refills. We won’t be back.

Google
I'm not going to knock the food. It was what it was. Mostly really good. If you're into it, maybe lacking in amount depending on how much you can eat and what is reasonable for about $17. .. My main complaint, which I say understanding that it was an honest mistake and they were moderately busy, is that I had to get up to try and get a refill of water due to lack of service. Then after trying to inform one of the staff that I was getting up for water and NOT to take my food (I had more than half remaining )which he ignored me Or maybe didn't hear me and I wasn't about to start tapping him all in the shoulder or yelling, I get up. Make it to the bar counter and turn around only for a different employee to remove my food from the table. I'm not blaming them for intentionally doing anything or being dense, but I had left my table for 20 seconds to 30 seconds maximum when they removed everything. What if I had just needed to use the restroom?.. It shows a serious desire to get the customer out as fast as possible and a major lack of customer service And more importantly thoughtfulness. I do not plan to return because they made me feel very uncomfortable. I let a lot slide in most cases and I think they have a good product. I just don't want to go through the experience of feeling like I'm not welcome to enjoy it.

Yelp
Finally made it in and what a delight for my tastebuds. 11yo son has been begging for real ramen, we live in round rock so had to bring him here of course. We came at 12:45 on a Friday so it was pretty busy but not TOO busy. We waited maybe 5-10 min to order and found a place to sit, there were still a few open seats too as everyone just sort of rotates ordering and eating. We ordered the #2 with chili bomb, the twice fried chicken and gyoza. Well I thought I ordered gyoza lol. 10 min after getting our other food I asked about the gyoza, someone went to check came back and said they were making it but that we weren't charged for it. She must not have heard me at the counter. I went to go pay for it and they refused. I was shocked, what customer service. Now don't go and intentionally do this, just saying it was refreshing as a customer to be treated this way. My son loved it, we will be back frequently!

Yelp
I don't take recommendations very lightly. If I trust you as a human being and consider you someone with a good palate who knows their food, your recommendations are gospel to me. I don't say anything. I listen. When I heard the recommendation of Ramen Tatsu-ya from my boss, I immediately added it to my list. After a hard-worked Friday and a quality run at the gym, I headed to the Round Rock location eager to please my growing appetite. Now, I'm not a ramen expert. I enjoy my teppanyaki from time to time. I enjoy my ramen shops from time to time. I have yet to be disappointed with most. Even at the front of Ramen Tatsu-ya, your expectations are high. Their storefront is punchy. It means business. It's like walking into a sports arena where you just know they mean business. Inside, the storefront is beautifully designed with red and white lighting and clean aesthetics. It feels welcoming, like you're at a corner shop in a walkable city. I scanned the menu, struggling to choose my perfect meal, but I landed on the Mi-So-Not. I like miso soup, and I hoped their take on miso ramen wouldn't disappoint. I knew the Mi-So-Hot was probably "the move" in the grand scheme of enjoyability, but my stomach was churning in hunger. I knew that in terms of destroying a meal, the Mi-So-Not was needed. I paired that with a Kirin Ichiban to drink. A rarity in my beer choices, but a classic. Granted, I arrived after 8:00 instead of during the 6:00 rush; it didn't take long at all for the bowl to hit my table. Mere minutes, really. Bluntly, it was phenomenal. Such a fantastic flavor. Quality noodles are nothing to scoff at, but the broth immediately captured me. So sweet. So delectable. Put that in a 44oz cup, give me a straw, and send me on my way, I swear to God. I was thoroughly impressed. The egg was just the cherry on top. In the future, I would add another half just because of how much impact that single half egg had on my life. That's just free game for anyone reading this. I'm not a chopstick expert, but I can get by. I locked in here. Got a little bit of finger strain. I gotta do better. In the end, I'm already trying to plot my return. I truly think it's one of the best late night solo meals I've had in some time. Just a guy in a noodle shop putting in work. Beer in one hand. Chopsticks in the other. Life is beautiful.

Yelp
The ramen here is AMAZING!!!! I love ramen and they know how to make some good ramen i'll give them that! The service is truly top tier. Everyone has their own fav but when I go, I stick to what I know & that's the #2 with an extra egg and extra pork. I don't eat pork but here?! it's out the window haha! The scenery here is also beautiful! Please keep in mind, sometimes this place gets back and you cannot pick your own seat which I'm okay with. If there is a wait, it would go all the way back to outside. If you love ramen, please visit Ramen TatsuYa!

Yelp
Came here for lunch yesterday with a coworker who had never had ramen before and she really enjoyed it! I have been to ramen tatsu-ya before but not this location. I think ramen tatsu-ya is consistently good but I do think it is a bit overpriced especially since you order at the counter. Our food came out relatively quickly and the employees here were nice. The restaurant itself is cute with a decent amount of seating for the size of the space.

Yelp
The ramen is always amazing with great flavor and a filling selection. Service was spot on and as always the restaurant was spotless. I also like the traditional ramen house vibe. I had my go to Mi-So-Hot because I love the spicy kick. I usually order the 5 Spice bomb but tried it without it this time. Definitely yummy I was a little surprised when I asked my server for a refill of green tea and she sheepishly said refills aren't free. Times have really changed I guess. I have to say that in short order my server brought me a new cup of tea 'on the house.' An outstanding customer service recovery. Ramen Tatsuya is definitely a repeater for me!

Yelp
Best. Ramen. In. Round. Rock. (End of story). My sister and I have had Michelin ramen in California that we waited 3 hours for & this is a top contender. There's always a line outside the door for this location. But the hosts don't rush you! I love knowing I can sit down and enjoy my food without feeling like I have to hurry. We also order the OGs and edamame. Freaking good.

Yelp
Tatsuya is my go-to in Austin for ramen, but this is my first time at the new Round Rock location! The vibes are right--Tatsuya definitely has its own aesthetic, and this location is no exception. I love the lights and wood accents they use here! And of course, this new location is definitely much more roomy! Service was fine, comparatively it feels a tad slower than the Research location i'm used to, but nothing major. I got my usual Ol' Skool Bowl. It comes out piping hot with all the normal fixin's as well as my added cabbage sprouts mix. It is delicious as expected. The only thing is, i feel like this location uses less noodles in each of their bowls. Usually, i have trouble finishing the entire bowl. Here, i did not...nothing super scientific, but i feel as though there might just be less ramen than what i'm used to. One little deduction here: i wish the space was cleaner. It's a new location, but surfaces felt a bit sticky, and tables and floors were not getting cleared/cleaned promptly enough. Hopefully, this gets better as the staff settle in.

Yelp

Yelp
Came here for dinner the other night. You walk in, order first, then get given a number then find an available seat. I ordered the crawmen ramen. It came with little pieces of crawfish. Sausage and corn were very favorable. My boyfriend ordered the MI-SO-NOT (Tonkotsu) extra egg and meat. His meal did not even have the extra egg and meat. We asked the guy who was at the register because he was making rounds at table how much extra of egg and meat there would be after we got our food. He said you would see an additional egg and you can tell if it would have extra meat. He did not bother to check his meal at the question of getting our food. I dont understand why we payed extra for meat and egg and we didn't even get it. I feel like this place is a rip off, they didn't even take initiative to just stop and check our bowl before we even consumed our food.

Yelp
Great place for ramen fast service even when crowded was in and out in no time. Mine had the right amount of noodles to veggies and meat .

Yelp
In our way to Austin we wanted to grab a bite to eat. Ramen Tatsu-ya did not disappoint. The ramen was delicious the broth was full of flavor and the edamame were hot and flavorful.

Yelp
I will begin by stating that this is my second time eating at this establishment. The building looked amazing, it was very clean on the outside, and the artwork was very eye-catching. The inside was very clean and offered a very warm and cozy feeling. The place looked great. I went up to the counter and grabbed myself a menu, the laminated paper made it effortless to glide my finger across the menu and locate the food I will desire . I had finished ordering and clicked "no tip" when paying ($14.50). Almost immediately I begin to receive dirty, disgusted, and repulsed looks from the two workers at the box. I'm sorry but who's giving a tip for someone to click a screen two or maybe three times. I asked for "The Og" and a water, nothing crazy. I went ahead and sat myself at the "Live Noods" section and 5-7 minutes later I had received my food. The food smelt amazing, but seeing all the oil floating to the top of the bowl put an unpleasant feeling in my stomach and began to get rid of my appetite. As I placed my chopsticks in the bowl, I began to notice that most of this bowl was broth (lots of oil), I got very little noodles and a somewhat decent amount of the other stuff. The food had a very strong taste, but I was mostly thinking about how oily my mouth remained after every bite. Each bite became a meditation on excess, a struggle against the overwhelming tide of oil that coated my palate and dulled my senses. I very quickly ran out of noodles and was left highly disappointed. The bowl was nowhere near filling (coming from a 150lb guy with a pretty normal appetite), I asked for a second cup of water to try and fill myself up a little more. Was it worth my money? No. Was the food filling? No. Did the food taste good? The first few bites were good but it began to be too overwhelming and began to seem disgusting. Would I eat here again? No. Do I recommend this place? Only if you want to drop some of your money for some overly oily lips and an even more overly empty and disappointed feeling in both your heart and your stomach. This experience served as a stark reminder of the chasm between aspiration and reality, a poignant lesson in the subjective nature of taste and the elusive pursuit of contentment. The lingering taste of oil became a metaphor for the lingering dissatisfaction, a reminder to never return here again. The bowl, a symbol of potential fulfillment, proved to be a vessel of fleeting gratification, leaving me adrift in a sea of unfulfilled desire. I don't believe I will be eating here again. But for those willing to eat at this place, I wish nothing but for you to be able to enjoy your food and time spent here. May the experience bring a joyful, pleasing, and contented feeling to you that may make up for the disappointing, saddened, and downhearted food. Thank you Attached below is a photo to show the amounts of oil in the food.

E L.

Yelp
First time at this location. The new menu crawmen is good, similar to miso hot. Good ramen not disappointing. Food came out slower (15-20mins) than the other locations (usually takes less than 10 mins wait) but overall still acceptable.

Yelp
Great customer service Fun atmosphere Food is always on point!!! Great flavor , made to order , hot great ingredients Ramen definitely like to eat there but they have a great packaging for take away *only one thing when ordering take out I've been forgotten about they said they would grab me n waiting outfor quite awhile They did apologize Prices are fair I'd say it's kinda the same any ramen place in Austin Love love love this place

Yelp
Great spot for ramen ! Loved the vibe , the neon lights, the dragon wall art. Service was quick , order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The noodles were perfect , not overcooked , they're chewy with some bite. The broth was flavorful , great mix of rich, salty , creamy umami goodness. The pork was soft , the vegetables were fresh, the egg was so frickin good. Gimme 14 of them.

Yelp
Delicious Ramen, relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, and reasonably priced! Ramen Tatsu-Ya is a great Ramen chain and I'm glad there's a Round Rock location not far from my place! I get the OG Ramen (W/ No Mushroom), and either the Chicken Karage (Popcorn Chicken essentially) or Gyoza (Comes with delicious dipping sauce). Great quality and definitely recommend for Ramen fans!

Yelp
Went Thursday after work before a rush and the staff were super helpful since it was our first time. The ramen was good, the staff were even better and the spot had good ambience but could easily get full and busy. Go at early times or weekdays to avoid the rush.

Yelp
I have been sitting on this review for a while as I came to this spot the third week it opened to avoid the crowds. I really do like this local chain but when I went, this local gem wasn't at its finest. While this is a traditional Ramen spot... what I mean is that it's a spot that serves a traditional dish that can be broken down into five basic components: broth; noodles; tare, which is the seasoning or sauce that serves as a ramen's flavor base; aroma oil; and toppings. I ordered the Mi-So-Hot. This ramen is described as "spicy pork bone broth, miso blend, goma pork, ajitama egg, napa cabbage, bean sprout, corn, sesame seeds" - Ramen Tatsu-Ya Unfortunately, while this dish was indeed Ramen, it wasn't spicy. I even added a spice bomb (Fire in a bowl), which is thai chili and habanero paste. We know that Thai chiles: A thin-skinned chile typically found in red and green, is supposed to have a slightly sweet flavor in addition to heat. This bomb was slightly sweet but more medium heat that what one comes to expect in a bomb with these ingredients. The abundant amount of pork took up much of the broth in the bowl leaving little to slurp. I prefer a ramen that is has more broth than a heavy protein and this did not deliver that. Further, my order took more than 30 minutes to get to me which is puzzling as the establishment wasn't busy. I'm not really sure how to describe my experience here other than just mediocre at best. Perhaps when I visited, the location was getting used to its sea legs and now that its steadfast, service and caliber of food may be better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
Consistently delicious ramen!! We came during their first week of opening, everything was delicious and went smoothly. Our go-to is the OG. The broth is creamy, rich, and very flavorful. Noodles are cooked to perfection - crunchy and tender texture. Woodear mushroom and plenty of green onion add a nice crunch to the bowl. Ajitama egg is perfectly soft-boiled. Chasu pork is very tender and tasty; however, the piece is a bit thin and small. Having 2 pieces of chasu per bowl would be great. The restaurant is cute and small. You get in line to order, pay, pick your number and assigned table. It's crowded but the line moves fast. Some recommendations to the owner(s): Have a loyalty program for returning customers. Also, partner with Yelp to offer some discounts or a free edamame upon check-in.

Yelp
We arrived around 11:02 on a Saturday (they open at 11) and there was a line. The wait was about 20 min but it moved pretty quickly. They have fans and music outside so it made the wait much more bearable. I think everyone had the idea to arrive at opening to avoid a wait, so there actually seemed to be a shorter line around 11:30. I got the tsukemen (dipping ramen) and it was very tasty! They were doing a promotion where kids get a free kids ramen with an adult ramen, so we got that also. We also got a few appetizers: karrage (3 stars; a little underwhelming), katsu slider (5 stars) and brussel sprouts (4 stars, in the saltier side). We also got the guavarito (5 stars; not too sweet and subtle sake taste) and the strawberry yuzu lemonade also very tasty! So glad we have Ramen Tatsuya right in RR now!!!
google avatar

Lyly D.

Yelp
Negi rice bowl in full effect at this spot!! Served in heated bowls full of perfectly seasoned green onions, fried onions, perfectly cooked rice. Gyoza looks homemade?? tho not as tasty as previous versions. OG ramen is just freaking perfect. Front service is super nice--hipsters without attitude! My favorite ramen tatsuya location to date. If you're debating going to CP or RR location, go to RR

Yelp
My daughter and I had a noon lunch on a recent Saturday at this newer location of Ramen Tatsu-Ya. As with other locations, ordering is done as you enter, you are given a number, and then food is delivered to your table. There are long tables, round tables, and smaller ones for 2 or 4 people. Tables have spoons, chopsticks, and napkins. Tap water is self-dispensed and free. There were quite a few vacant tables when we arrived, but by the time we left around 1:15 pm, the place was packed, and the line was long. Tables were clean and the dining room was light and bright, but rather noisy. We ordered edamame to share, and I got the #1(the OG - tonkatsu) with the corn bomb. My daughter ordered #2 (same as mine with a small sheet of nori, and she asked that the bamboo be removed). The edamame was good but had spots where there were large concentrations of salt crystals. The waiter asked which one of us had the corn bomb, then gave me the corn bomb with my daughter's ramen, and gave my ramen to her. It took us a minute to realize that I had the nori and she had the bamboo she didn't want. My ramen, and presumably hers, was warm but not hot, and the noodles undercooked. The corn bomb (delivered in a separate dish) was a nice foil to the ramen, adding a creamy touch to the tasty broth. This location has barely been open for a couple of months, and definitely has some kinks to work out... hence the 4-star rating. I'll return in a few months and update my review.
google avatar

Noanya S.

Yelp
I ordered carry out as I'm always in the mood for Ramen and a new Ramen spot in the area - winning I had the OG add corn bomb and ground pork. It was flavorful but a little sweet. I also would've enjoyed more veggies. Overall it will due if I'm craving Ramen and don't feel like driving too far but definitely not the best ramen in town. Also please make sure there are chopsticks in the to go orders as not all individuals have a set at home ‍

Yelp
Tatsuya never fails to satisfy me! Very solid price with the taste and portion size. I get the OG which comes with 1 piece of cha siu, wood ear mushroom, egg and a lot of green onions. A little bit too much green onions lol and they were not cooked that well. Noodles are perfectly chewy and soft. For my allergic fellas, the noodles are made with wheat, no eggs. You can have the egg separate as well. Order at the front, pay, and come to your seat. The food comes out fast and if you need to refill water, you'll have to go get yourself. I like that. Straightforward and fast. One plus for me about this location is the lighting! It's bright, compared to all the other gloomy, dark locations.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
Very cute inside and ample amount of seating. You order at the front then get a number for your table. Overall ramen was pretty good and decently priced for the portion. Adding chasu in your ramen is an extra $4.50. Strawberry yuzu lemonade was refreshing!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
The way to go for me is the Shoyu ramen no green onions and no nori! The music was perfect and service was prompt. I will be back for sure! My husband got the OG and said next time he wants to get the Shoyu because it was good.

Jon V.

Yelp
The pork ramen I got at this place was not good and way overpriced. I will not go back. Not good.

David T.

Yelp
I'm glad they opened another location closer to me! Easy to find location and plenty of parking. I'm not familiar with other ramen spots in the area so this is kind of my go-to spot. I like the Mi-So-Hot and the OG when it comes to ordering. They do get busy so keep that in mind if you happen to go during the dinner rush.
google avatar

Lowell B.

Yelp
First of all, amazing service. The front desk was so welcoming and generous with their recommendations, which were fantastic. The Mi-So-Hot ramen was stunning. The sweet and sour yodas (shaved Brussels sprouts flash fried and seasoned to perfection) were a perfect addition. A Kirin to send it down added the perfect touch. Servers were fast and attentive and were patient with an overstressed diner who was effusive in reactions to their food. It was not my favorite week or day. The food and service here made today great. We've been to Tiki Tatsu-Ya a few times and went to the dearly missed BBQ Tatsu-Ya. Never been to ramen. Will return. Maybe tomorrow. It's been that kind of week.

Yelp
The food and service are great, and the staff are very attentive. Music was obnoxiously loud.

Yelp
I live in south Austin, was shopping at IKEA and stopped at this "new to me" location before heading home. One thing I love about the multi locations is consistency. If you crave the best ramen, I love that no matter which location you go to, it's going to be the exact same thing no matter what. It's always gorgeous to look at and tastes amazing. This location is in a plaza and you know ya girl loves a good parking situation! Since you order as soon as you walk in there came be somewhat of a line but plenty of places to have a seat and grab a quick bite. I was in and out in a pinch. Service was bomb. Of course they give you a number and bring you your meal and clear away items as you finish them and are great at observing what you need. Great lunch!

Yelp
I always loved the OG Ramen Tatsu-ya locations in Austin and was excited that they had an outpost closer to me in Round Rock. Unfortunately, I probably won't be visiting regularly. I noticed that since my last visit, the quality of the ramen has gone downhill. Prices have gotten higher and it seems like the quantity and quality have both decreased. Just a small example, but I'm quite certain I would typically receive a full (two halves) of an ajitama egg, and my bowl only included one half. I'm certain there used to be more than one pork medallion included. The noodles seemed a little overcooked to my taste, as well. Broth was good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fine -- typical for a fast-casual restaurant. You order at the counter (during which you are asked to pre-tip on service you have not yet received -- sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine!). Service was efficient and friendly. Overall, just OK.

Yelp
Today I went here after church. This was my first time trying ramen and I'm so glad I experienced it here. The service was great. As soon as we walked in , we were greeted by a host who helped us make decisions since it was all our first time there. The way you get food is by ordering at the front and they bring the food to your table. My mom got the curry chicken rice bowl with the Karrage. Karrage is the fried chicken app with spicy mayo and chili sauce. I got the OG with a side of Karrage. Our friend got the MiSo Hot with a spicy bomb on the side. She also had a margarita as well. Everything was so delicious! the place is nice inside. Lots of places to sit and enjoy your meal. I think they should try to expand cause this place is bomb! I can't wait to go back !

Yelp
Food was good at first then once my boyfriend and I drove home we immediately threw it up. We both got the mi so not and he got the spicy version. Our first time here and never coming back.

Yelp
I have been to Ramen Tatsu-Ya since it first opened up on 183N - I believe back in 2011-ish. They have always been my go-to for great ramen, and their quality and experience was top notch as they consistently provided that wow-factor. Over the years I have written a few 5-star reviews for Tatsu-Ya because it was well deserved. This is my first 3-star review, and it's very unfortunate. So I took a friend here for lunch, we got their Top 2 ramen dishes, added the $7 combo to it which was a drink and dumplings / gyoza. Bill was over $52 surprisingly. I mean I remember this being about below $30. It was quite a sticker shock. Regardless - I see the prices rising, and many of them may be artificial, but if you maintain the same level of quality and experience - then I can deal with it. Unfortunately this place came up way short and was a disappointment. I felt like they have turned this into a cookie-cutter-franchise-like place, and usually the big things that suffer are quality of ingredients and portions. I did not get that wow-factor I used to have with my OG Ramen - the broth used to be so savory, rich, and flavorful. And I never ever throw it away and have always taken the rest home, but this just did not come close or live up to expectations. I did not even finish the broth and gave no thoughts to take it to go - - mind you that's the first time ever in 13 years. The firebomb lacked that unique flavor and usual wow factor. It was good, but did not set itself apart from the rest of the competition like they used to, I remember a slightly more pungent / garlic / savory flavor. The gyoza was meh. Fried ok, but dried out and minimal pork / stuffing inside so I felt like I was eating mostly a fried dumpling crust. Very disappointing especially since they charge $7 for this and at the store it's much less with better quality. They've cut some corners on quality, changed up the recipes - most notables are the broth and the firebomb and I notice some of the ingredient add-ons are not as flavorful. The pork belly was actually dry and bland - believe it or not - and lacked flavor. Those changes are usually due to cost reductions which often compromises quality - because these changes were not for the better or improvement of the product quality for the customer, unfortunately. It's just not the same anymore, as I left with the feeling that this has turned into another run-of-the-mill-cookie-cutter-ramen place that used to be the only-top-notch-high-quality-must-go-to-ramen experience in town. Had the quality been up to par with what they used to be, I wouldn't of minded spending over 50 bucks and I would have likely spent more $$ or that dipping ramen to-go. But I figured I would take my losses as-is and not risk spending anymore - if I am not pleased with this dish, then I will likely feel the same about others. It's a very common storyline for many restaurants, especially in the Austin area. You work hard and earn great quality reputation and name based off your core competencies (quality, flavor, wow-factor, experience) but as you grow you and expand over the years you end up straying away from those things (that made you great). Very unfortunate. So I can't say I will be back here again. I will also have to proceed with caution on the other Tatsu-ya places as my last visits there were a few months ago and were okay, yet still a notch better than this location - but I am not sure if similar changes were made since then so we will just wait and see. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu.

Yelp
After living in SE Asia for a few years, we have been searching for a place that reminds us of some of our favorite ramen. Ramen Tatsu-Ya is the best we've found here in the Austin area. We got a to-go order, so I can't speak to the customer service dining-in, but the restaurant looked clean and well kept. The staff were also friendly and welcoming. We will be back. Delicious!

Yelp
Try to go before 6:00 or after 8:00 and you'll deal with fast service and quick food. I love getting the OG with Karaage added into the soup, it makes the whole bowl taste really good and you feel great after. Their specialty ramens are also really good and change up depending on the season so it's always worth it to go every now and then and pick up one of their specialties imo. Tatsuya is my go-to place if I want to feel good eating something (Next to Sweetgreens). All in all, a nice place, good food, can be pretty busy at peak hours but if you go before or after you'll have a good time.

Yelp
We beat the line, which is great as there isn't much room in the front to stand that's indoors, and we were glad we did because the food did not disappoint. Though I wish the space was bigger, they maximize the space in the conscious way that makes it a great eating experience. The greeting staff doesn't make you feel rushed, explains things clearly and excels at service which I appreciated! We live in the area, and love ramen so we'll certainly be back with friends! Our new go to place.

Yelp
Suburbia has a Ramen Tastu-ya....finally! We would drive 25- 45 minutes into town to enjoy different locations, and every time, it was a homerun. Each location is a little different while keeping the same theme. I am absolutely thrilled to have one so close to home. Something special that this particular location has that others don't are the fun drinks! The Hibi Gibi (hibiscus lemongrass punch) & Guavarito looked so good, can't wait to try next time. I tried a sip of the Yuzu Strawberry Lemonade (non-alcoholic), and it was very refreshing. Ramen on a hot summer day wasn't what I was after, so I tried their cold option - The Spicy Chilled - again very refreshing - spicy though! I got a bite of everyone's dish at the table and their chicken and pork broths are so dang delicious. The pork one is definitely heavier, rich, and creamy. I could eat a million of the Ajitama (marinated boiled eggs) they serve with their dishes- Chef's Kiss! The staff was very helpful and welcoming and they helped us with the flavor bombs for the Ramen orders. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Really wanted to try this place, looks great from the outside but the foods were terrible. Ordered #4 and #6. If I had used instant ramen probably would taste better than these. I have had many ramens before and this by far the least! From the ramen to the topping. The broth probably a 2. Very disappointed! This is not Ramen!

Yelp
Atmosphere Speedy service Food There seems to be less noodles, less meat and only one half of an egg in the bowls. No chicken option. Broth was a bit salty. Will probably go to Jin Ya in the domain for my next ramen venture.

Yelp
Stylish clean line wooden table/chair in a communal setting. The service was quick and the food flavorful. We had the OG and the vegetarian option. The broth for the OG is creamy and heavy on the pork flavor, while the veggie broth is much cleaner and clear. The noodles are thinner, fresher, and not the typical wavy ramen noodles seen in a package; it was well cooked and not bloated/over cooked. Would go back to try other flavors!

Yelp
Back stateside, and home for the weekend. The boys and I decided on ramen for dinner before heading to my daughter's basketball game. Stopped into Ramen Tatsu-Ya's Round Rock location. Their location is ideal, in my opinion, because they're next to an ice cream shop and I think ice cream after ramen is the perfect combination. Anyway, service was superb. And the ambiance is beautiful. Wonderfully decorated with clever noodle puns. Table service is fast!! The only thing I would encourage is that they increase their ramen options. That being said, you can't go wrong with the OG or the Miso-hot. There's also the Tsukemen, which is a broth with the noodles on the side. We were told the proper way to eat this ramen is to dip the noodles into the ramen. They weren't wrong but however you decide to eat it, you won't regret it. But their ramen is excellent. They had a new on this day; the Hatch-chile which was not as spicy as I thought it would be but it had some spice and a delicious savory flavor unexpected. We accompanied that with some kaage that was crispy and delicious. A must visit if you're in the north suburbs of Austin.

Yelp
We had to make a line outside the restaurant, but believe me the wait was worth it. The ramen is simply delicious, you can feel all the flavors and it's definitely a place I would go back to no matter how many times I need to wait in line. The ambience is super nice, very well decorated. And very inviting. The only thing I observed is they're not the best with their attention to customer, probably because of how stacked the place was, but overall this is a great place to eat.

Yelp
So so delicious! Huge portions, so we ordered extra noodles before we left and we took the broth home to eat for another meal. The spicy ginger brew had a really nice bite to it, and you could tell the broth had a lot of time put into it. It's not super loud like you'd expect places like this to be, and I think it's bc the decor was intentionally chosen to absorb a bit. It does help that the kitchen is nearly fully separated from the dining room. Great service. Prepare to wait in line for a bit if you don't show up at the right time! You order before sitting down, and I think they intentionally go a bit slow at the counter bc the tables don't turn over fast enough. I use a wheelchair and the employee behind the counter went to move a chair for me before we went to our table. Definitely helpful as it was a tight space and there was nowhere to move the chair to ourselves.
