The 15 Best Restaurants in Nantes, France | Eater

"The more casual sister restaurant to chef Anthony Nguyen’s Izakaya Joyi, this sliver of a ramen bar with nonstop service stays busy throughout the day. Choose among pork, chicken, or vegetable broth for the excellent iekei ramen (homemade from local rice flour, of course), and load up on gyoza and/or chashu don too. Then place your order and snatch the first barstool available at the counter; the space fills up fast. [$]" - Lindsey Tramuta

The food was tasty, but the service was under par. I had a meal there on 31 Jul at 16.20 and was greeted by a less than friendly server. I made every effort to speak French only to get a curt Huh? Huh? from him. His attitude implied: the menu is in front of you, it's not that difficult to figure out. To make matters worse he sprayed the cleaning product on the table I was sitting at and got it on me. It didn't make me feel very clean. Mind you that the restaurant was almost empty and the table could have been cleaned beforehand. As a courtesy, he could have asked me to stand up or, better still, added the cleaning product on the rag and not on the table. Who trained this guy?! P.S. The ramen spoon was wet before it touched the Ramen. Substandard.

First time in France as we were on an Extreme Day Trip - We went to Nantes and found this treasure of a place. The staff were brilliant, made us feel very welcome and THE FOOD WOW! THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE.

Great ambiance and service, it’s a kind of trendy and young ramen place in Nantes. I have been to Nantes many times but never knew this place exists. I like how efficient it is, you pay upfront then you get a seat, so the turnover is quite fast despite the queue being long. The staff was super friendly and kind. We sat at the counter and there was sufficient place under the table to hang bags and coats so it was very convenient. I would not really say the quality of the noodle soup was that great. I ordered the jigoku with spice level 2. The noodles were a bit soggy (instead of normal I should have taken Al denté for the noodles…), the egg was a bit powdery, soup a bit salty and not chilly at all, but the meat was good though. We also ordered the chashu don, the chicken dices were pasty with a bit of sauce on top, a bit of a boring dish unfortunately…

You order at the front desk and wait. Menu focused on ramens. Mind the level of spiciness, you may suggest what you prefer to the crew. Not too spacy local but the food is very good.

Stopped by the ramen restaurant by chance. The soup is strong enough and the noodles were cooked well. We’re from Taiwan and have tried quite a lot Ramen in Asia, I would say this ramen is local, good and recommended. Also the price is reasonable in Europe :)

We stopped by this place, namely because of the smell from the street. We are visiting Nantes and decided to go on a stroll on a whim and how lucky we were to find this gem in the heart of town. The staff were very patient as we looked at the me u for a very long time since we were going to pick up our food to take home. They even had an english language menu next to the french one, which helped a great deal. We have two very picky daughters, so finding the right ramen for each is paramount. For the girls, we decided on the Shoyu and the Shio (for our more picky daughter). They were big hits with them both, especially with their ingenious take-home presentation (more on that later). I had the Shiro Tantanmen, which was absolutely sublime. First of all, the egg was cooked to perfection, and the ramen were surprising delicately prepared. I ended up adding some of Chasu (pork) from my daughters leftover bowl and discovered that the pork was absolutely exquisite. My wife got the Miso and liked it very much. The top it all off we carried our food home fro. The restaurant. Obviously the food was not as warm as from the restaurant but their packaging separates the broth (at the bottom) from everything else. So you can reheat the broth separately and re-add it to the ingredients later on (brilliant). This also allowed our kids to pick and choose what they would put into their own ramen bowls. They even traded ingredients, which never happens. Great food, 100% recommend.

Tasty miso ramen. But I would love a little bit more meat, but for this price is good.
