Funny enough I saw this place rated on a msn article while bored at work. I was surprised to see it was one of the top ramen joints on the east coast. Had to see for myself... and the hype seems to be real. Ramen was on point, rich and flavorful with al dente medium small thickness noodles. Bowls were priced moderately well, $9 to $16.5 which is okay. I didn't find any of the "spicy" Ramen even remotely spicy so i wouldn't have that stop you from choosing something hot. Definitely worth checking out. Service was friendly and fast and noodles came out hot.

We finally got over to this Ramen location to give it a try. It also made the top 100 Ramen on Yelp in the US. For me the ramen was okay and my husband liked his. This review is based on both of our experiences. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated and when we finally sat down it took awhile for someone to wait on us. The restaurant was very busy and the staff was really hustling to get to everyone. The menu itself doesn't tell you anything about their ramen. It list names but not what type of broth they have, spice level, and meat that is in it. For anyone going to the restaurant looking for ramen and you don't eat pork, your only ramen option is the vegetarian which is what I had to get. I did get an extra egg and asked to make it spicy which helped. We both enjoyed the fresh noodles. I was not a fan of the red onion in the vegetarian. The onion was not cooked and very strong. My husband thought the blackjack broth was flavorful and not that spicy. Overall the experience was okay but I would not say top ramen in Maryland.

The best Ramen hands down. The broth is very flavorful and the noodles have a great texture. I believe all the Ramen broth outside of the vegetable Ramen is pork based. It's about 40 minutes away from me, but if I want Ramen I will drive there every time! The service is good as well, but be prepared to wait. The restaurant is quaint and has minimal seating but the wait is worth it!

I genuinely never thought I would find a good bowl of ramen from an old Pizza Hut outside of Balitmore, but here we are. Having eaten Ramen in Japan and on the West Coast, I haven't had a decent spot in the DMV until I came here. It's definitely respectable and I would going back if I'm close by again. Had the curry and tonkatsu ramen bowls. The curry ramen was interesting as I never had it before, but they made it work. Service is chill and prices are good for the area.

The BEST Ramen I've ever had. The Black Tonkotsu had so much flavor! The broth is what makes the dish, and the broth in this item was rich & savory. The pork flavor was strong and the garlic was perfectly dispensed. The noodles are made in house and the toppings were ample and of a great quality. The Gyoza was pan fried and SO delicious. Reasonable prices. PLENTY of parking and an easily accessible location. I'd say the atmosphere inside is very minimalist. However I only ordered carryout. The staff was very warm and helpful, quick service at pick up. I'll definitely order from here again!

This bowl felt like two restaurants sharing one spoon. I came in chasing that quiet kind of happiness only a good tonkotsu can give, where the first sip makes the room fade out. I ordered classic tonkotsu and it came out spicy instead, but that felt like an honest mistake, not something worth docking them for. The broth is where this place really shines. Rich without being heavy, deep without being muddy, it tastes like someone has been watching that pot with patience. I took around ten spoonfuls before I even remembered to split my chopsticks. In this bowl, the broth is the star. Once you move past the broth, the story changes. The noodles are just okay, they carry the flavor but do not add much of their own. I heard Korean from the kitchen, and suddenly the rest of the bowl made sense. The bean sprouts, the chashu, even the cut of the green onions all feel more Korean than Japanese, like Japanese broth with Korean toppings layered on top. The dining room still has the bones of a former Pizza Hut, which gives the space a slightly odd personality, but it is busy, loud, and full of people clearly enjoying themselves. My takeaway: I would come back if I was already in the area and craving ramen, especially for that broth. But I would not make a special trip. I came looking for a fully Japanese ramen experience and instead found a very good broth in a bowl that feels a little unsure which story it wants to tell.

Come Fall and Winter if you are carving a hot meal - Ramenya is a favorite spot. Generous portions, efficient service, parking on site, fantastic ramen! Rivals many in the Rockville and DC area. Reasonably priced as well. Vegetarian options available. Spicy miso and blackjack broths are really flavorful. And the Yuzu tea to finish. Get here early because the wait time is ~20 mins after 6:30pm.

I saw a lot of positive comments here, which is great and I respect that! 🌟 For me, AS AN ASIAN WHO’S TRIED RAMEN ON BOTH THE EAST & WEST COAST 🍜, I came on a Wednesday, excited to try one of the most talked-about ramen spots in the DMV. ✅ Positive points: • Friendly staff 😊 • Affordable prices 💰 • Clean, chill space 🪑 Here’s MY HONEST TAKE FROM AN ASIAN TASTE PERSPECTIVE: • Black Ramen: Broth was average 😕. My wife, who was VERY HUNGRY, even said the flavor didn’t satisfy — and when we all tried it, we agreed. The chashu was TOO THICK, TOO JUICY — and as you can see in the image, it wasn’t even close to the usual chashu style made by rolling pork belly, braising it in a sweet and salty soy sauce mix, and thinly slicing it. Instead, it looked like plain pork belly with light, instant marinade. Importantly, it was MISSING SEAWEED AND BAMBOO SHOOTS — WHICH I CONSIDER THE SOUL OF A GOOD RAMEN BOWL. The noodles were FLAVORLESS, with lots of corn 🌽 and raw shallots. Again, the same thick and underseasoned pork — and once again, MISSING THE SEAWEED AND BAMBOO SHOOTS that are staples in most ramen. Hot, fresh, delicious and filling. Service is great even whether you're waiting for a seat or throughout your visit. Decor is simple yet elegant and appropriate. Definitely recommend a visit and you will be hooked.

Is Ramen Ya the best ramen in the Baltimore area? I'd argue so. I've had so many options here and never had a bad experience. Even the veggie ramen is exceptional. You owe it to yourself to visit.

Absolutely my favorite ramen spot! From dining in to take out, they never miss. The broth is so delicious and has the perfect amount of oil, the noodles are fresh and chewy while the menu might be small they definitely know what they are doing! The black tonkatsu and black jack ramens are my favorite with the gyoza and the pork rice bowls. So much flavor and you leave feeling satisfied. Service is quick, expect a smaller dining area and possibly a wait especially during the cold or rain. They have many different drinks from Japanese sodas to beer and soju. 10/10

The restaurant is small with limited seating. Staff were friendly and food came out at a reasonable time. I ordered tonkatsu ramen. It was flavorful and the ramen was cooked correctly so just the right amount of chewiness. Only complaint might be that I wish the portion was bigger, otherwise it's a good ramen place.

This place used to be so good in their start. I'm not sure but for some reason, I just found the ramen so oily. It was okay. The service is always good and they always have a waitlist.

The ramen here is phenomenal! This is my first time here. I tried the tonkotsu ramen which was so rich in flavor. It comes with an egg and 4 pieces of chashu which was so so tender. It literally melts in your mouth! My friend got the black jack which has garlic oil which was also good. The wait on a Wednesday evening was about 30-40 minutes wait, but it was so worth it. It's a cozy restaurant inside. You can also see them making the ramen from scratch at the window.

Ramen Ya is like going to your friends house eat while they have also invited others. The rectangular dining room is an efficient layout in which the kitchen in the front of house can deliver the food. Beverages are housed in a glass upright cooler in the front. Suggest bringing a hoody or sweater inside in Jan and Feb because It can get cold inside. Probably because It looks like the building is a former fast food or Pizza Hut type place with lots of glass. The ramen is authentic and great. The service is great too.

Worthy of a wait. We gas to wait a bit to get seated but it was definite worth it. It was crowded even at 7:30pm. We got a table and ordered a variety of ramen to try several different kinds. The curry was amazing. The spicy was good but not overly spicy. The black was good and the regular tonkatsu was good.

I have to update my review to say RamenYa listened and they leveled up. During my recent visit, my bowl was so rich in flavor and filled to the brim. It was totally strange to see people lined up before its open. Food served shortly after we ordered. They were very busy and the placed filled up completely in a moment. They put special fried garlic in their ramen bowl and it gave us a unique ramen flavor that we had never had before at other ramen places. I had Blackjack and it was so good as they make their own ramen noodle there and the fresh ramen noodle taste and texture was awesome.

Came here on a Friday evening after work. We had a bit of a wait, but it was reasonable. This place is located in what appears to be an old Pizza Hut building. The ramen here was delicious, you can even watch them make it fresh! I got the Black Tonkotsu and some sake, which came packaged in a cup. It was different from what I'm used to when ordering sake, but everything was delicious. I'm most definitely coming back once the weather cools down!

I've been told to go here for years and I finally listened! This is a very unique experience. I'm references to like 5 to 9 dishes. You're going to get pork or vegetarian basically. No chicken options. This is a nice place to get a spicy traditional style ramen. I did a black garlic dish and no regrets. I must say I prefer more modification options, but love that this place sticks to more tried and true options. You can get away with maybe one large group, but mostly 2 seater options with a couple of bench options. The service was fairly quick.

It's a clean, comfortable, spacious restaurant. Service is pretty fast. The food was flavorful, spicy - but not overly so - and both dishes were really good. This place isn't fancy but it the food is good and you'll leave full.

Best ramen in town! Yes yes, akira and all those other chains are convenient. But Ramen Ya is fresh! Noodles are all made there and the service/staff is so nice. Very flavorful, fresh food.

Small, cozy spot with a great atmosphere. Expect a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. The ramen was amazing, the gyoza was great, and the green tea ice cream was a perfect finish. I liked it so much I went two days in a row. Highly recommend!

Try their black garlic ramen. Can't go wrong with this casual Ramen spot in Glen Burnie. Parking all around, short wait times for the food, will hit the spot if you're craving that umami kick. Good texture on the noodles too!

This is still my go to spot for Ramen. The curry Ramen is top notch. Over the years I have seen them become skimpy on the portions of noodles and they have also decreased the amount of broth given. The normal portion is now a half portion. It's disappointing to see a place I and been supporting since they opened start to cut corners and also increase the price charged for the smaller portion. Because of this I don't go as often. I didn't see the original gentleman there anymore, makes me wonder if he sold the business, which would make sense for all of the changes to the portions. It's still the best Ramen around because of the broth and the homemade noodles. Here's hoping they stay with making the noodles fresh.

This was my first time at Ramen ya. They were packed so I knew I was in the right spot. They gave us a buzzer and told us that it would be about a 40 minute wait so we waited in the car. And it was worth it!! We ordered the gyoza and shrimp shumai as appetizers. It was my first time tasting shrimp shumai--it has a soft texture. The ramen was phenomenal!!! FYI: They have straight noodles, not the curly noodles but it was delicious! I ordered the spicy tonkotsu because I tend to keep it basic haha. It was very flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the blackjack which is a combo of spicy tonkotsu and a black garlicky oil. He also added corn. I tasted his and it was so good too! This place is small but the flavors are large!! We'll definitely be back again.

Came here with my daughter at 7:50 on a Friday night, and there was a 40 minute wait with folks crowded around the door! The wait was about 40 - went grocery shopping next door during it. Service was efficient and food came out quickly. We think this is definitely some of the best ramen in this area. I'm a little biased because I had ramen 2 weeks ago in CA, which always sets my standard. I had spicy miso, daughter had spicy tonkatsu. Hers was a little better, mine could have had more miso flavor. Overall though glad to find this place! Come early or buy your groceries during the wait!

Overall: excellent ramen, small menu, all sorts of drinks, nostalgic ambiance in an old Pizza Hut, but the service was incredibly slow We got there at 4:45 on a Saturday and there was already a wait. We waited a long time to be seated. The servers were kind, but super slow and there was so much time between each time they came to us. For example, was probably 10-15 minutes between when they dropped off the check and picked up our cards to run them. The food was incredible though. Definitely the best ramen I've had in Maryland. It was cool that they make the noodles homemade and in a glass room so you could watch it from where you eat. My family got three different broths and they were all delicious. I loved that I could order a basic one for my toddler and not have to pick out all of the stuff he doesn't like. He crushed it. The curry was the perfect amount spicy and savory.

summary: ramenya is one of the best tasting ramen shops in the area, but I do feel like it's somewhat a victim of its own success. Depending on what time you go, you can face long waits and spotty service, but otherwise a location to check out for sure. the food: there are tons of different types of ramen available with lots of different topping options as well. From what I gathered, everything is delicious too. The menu keeps it relatively simple (in a good way). The broth had great depth, flavor, and balance. The noodles had a good chew/spring to them (and built on location; you can see them make it from a window in the building). And the chashu meat is to die for. the ambiance: I think this is kind of where the limitations start to present itself. The building appears to be an old pizza hut location and there's not too much seating available. It's not uncommon for there to be a long wait list to get seated depending on when you go, so choose wisely. There's not much to look at from a decor-standpoint, but it does have a home-y ramen shop vibe, so I don't mind it especially since the food is so good. the service: not sure if it's understaffed or the system they have in place, but it was hard to get servers to come to our table at times. For what it's worth, everyone was very nice, but it definitely felt busy. From order to table, our food probably took about 40 minutes to arrive. ramenya is definitely a place to check out especially if you're into noodles, but my recommendation would be to go during off hours or find a good friend to wait in line for you to get a table.

This was, hands down, delicioso! The Spicy Tonkatsu ramen was great. I had two bowls, well one there and one to go. The pork was excellent along with the shoyu egg. I was very impressed with the quality of ramen. The flavor is excellent and the noodles don't taste like cardboard. I paired it with the premium Hakushika "Tanuki" Junmai Cup 14.5% sake which will sneak up on ya... I am pretty sure the sake and that hearty bowl of ramen was the reason for my 4 hour mid day nap because the "itis" was real!!lol I was told that it gets quite busy with long waits in the early evening when they reopen after lunch time, but at lunch it was a smooth sailing production with things and guests moving rather quickly. I will most definitely return!

I forgot to take a photo before I was halfway done, it was too good not to dig in immediately! The ramen is amazing with an amazing price point. I personally got the regular tonkatsu ramen. When we come back, I'd probably like the spicy ramen better. Service was great and quick.

This place is absolutely great. But be advised. Extremely popular so the wait can be long. But worth the wait. The ramen was so good and the broth was silky smooth. Not sure what else I can say but make sure you go. The gyoza was really great as well. Everything made in house. A definite recommend.

A great way to repurpose (an old pizza hut?). Straightforward and no nonsense menu. A very in-and-out kind of ramen establishment. Nothing wrong with that for people focused on getting their fix. By the same token this place isn't about a nice leisurely night out. Take-out will be equally satisfactory to sit down for you. Ramen quality is decent but if you travel to a lot of places might not be as good as you want. Stop of convenience, not an out of the way destination.

This is probably the best ramen I've had in Maryland. All of the ramen options have rich and tasty broths. The noodles are also great, but I personally prefer curly/chewier noodles. I highly recommend the black jack ramen. The pork buns were OK and tasted very similar to a McChicken to me. The service was mediocre at best as the server did not give us napkins or utensils until we asked for them after finishing our appetizers. Additionally, we had to wait nearly 35 minutes for our ramen to come out. I'd recommend the ramen to anyone, but ordering it for take out may be the better option!

Best ramen in the area! The restaurant is small, so be prepared to wait if you come during peak time. You can see them making noodles, which is really fun to watch. The menu is small but has everything you need, including sake and beer options. The prices are reasonable. I definitely suggest giving this place a try if you're looking for some good ramen!

LOVE this place! It's busy but well worth the wait! The staff are so accommodating and it really is a nice atmosphere. The place is clean and comfortable. I always get the black jack ramen which is a combination of two different tonkotsu ramen (the other half being spicy) - I also recently learned you can adjust the spicy level!

Let me start by saying I prefer Ramen over Pho and Ramenya over any other ramen spot. I recommend the Tonkotsu ramen if you have never been. Its flavorful, texturally sound, and packed full and array of color and tastes. If I am not mistaken it comes with a broth made of pork and it also includes pork. The only "setback" i would say is it can be a little greasy and oily. The pork buns should be a natural treasure. Pork between to bao buns with dabs of bbq sauce and mayo with cabbage. Its perfect. Hosts/Service is always fast, friendly and efficient.

I have had an urge to try a place that serves really good ramen, and since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped in. It was a little tricky to find. It looks like a Pizza Hut, repainted and customized to their specs. Once inside, the furnishings are basic wood. The drink order was very quick. Our server explained the ramen dishes on the 1 page menu. My husband chose the Black Tonkotsu, and I had the Tonkotsu ramen. All their soups are pork based, don't ask for chicken or beef, they just don't do that. In 5 short min, our soups arrived, very hot. The flavors were incredible, a pure culinary delight. Plus, their noodles are homemade! The pork in the soup was delightfully seasoned. They also have a very active takeout service along with a steady flow of customers . Very pleasant staff, just the right amount of attention.

A hidden gem located behind a gas station next to a strip mall. It's tasty and hits every time! The space isn't anything special and pretty sure the building used to be a Pizza Hut and there is limited seating. If you come on a weekend you will probably have to wait. Honestly, I would just order it to-go. It keeps well and you can slurp your noodles in the comfort of your own home! Can confirm that leftovers are equally good if not better the next day. Definitely check this spot out!

Well, I eat at this place at least once a week now. I travel for a living. I have been in Japan, at least 25 times and all over Asia about the same. I have eaten Ramen all over Asia and in Japan and the regular tonkansu is the greatest I've ever had anywhere. The chatsu is also the most tender and flavorful of anywhere that I've had. I've had the curry, the blackjack, the spicy tonKatnsu but my favorite still remains the plain. Also sidenote the bao buns are some of the best I've ever had as well. Highly highly recommended if you are a Ramen fan this is undeniably the best you're gonna have in my opinion. The service is super fast all the waitresses are very nice. And they have a great selection of drinks and alcoholic beverages. Now that it's gonna be winter time I might be eating there twice a week 13.50 for a giant bowl of Ramen is not a bad deal.. thank you so much Ramen ya See you Wednesday.

Came here for a bowl of ramen on a chilly evening. Ramen Ya is located behind the Sunoco across the lot from Giant grocery store. The building looks like it was a Pizza Hut in a previous life. We entered and were immediately assisted by a pleasant man and taken to our table. We were seated next to an open glass window where a young lady was making the fresh ramen noodles. She feed the dry pasta into a machine and out came a continuous sheet of noodle pasta slowly winding to form a roll, which she took off and transferred to a holding reel and proceeded to make the next one. Cool! We proceeded to order the tonkasu bowl and I got mine spicy with chili oil and flakes. We also order the pork buns and gyoza. The buns were soft,fluffy, and light with a perfect portion of pork with a dab kewpie mayo to hold it together. Nice taste. The gyoza arrived fried on one side and was tasty. Our bowls arrived hot and steamy full of the thin ramen noodles, green onions, bean sprouts, half an egg, and sliced pork all bathing in a pork broth with mine topped with a layer of chili oil and flakes. The broth was tasty and not heavy, which I liked. The noodles were perfectly cooked with the right amount of chew. The pork was cooked perfectly as well, and was tender. The egg was soft boiled, which I personally don't care for, but I drowned it in the broth and came back to it later and it was perfect. The bean sprouts and green onions were fresh and had the right amount of crisp to accompany the noodles, broth and pork. All in all the ramen bowls were great and I will be visiting this spot again!

Ramen Ya, I'm home from my trip now and how I wish I can go there this weekend! We had a group of 8 dining in this day and everything was a win. Me and the hubs ordered our usual tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu and the broth was so wonderful! One of the best ones I've tasted ever, rich, flavorful, made my eyes open wide. The noodles were also great as they are made fresh in house. Service was good and attentive, will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Watch out, look out; roaring good ramen ahead!! I was in business travel and wanted to see if I could find a hidden gem. Was very intrigued when I saw Ramen Ya pop up when I was searching the area. I could not resist! I drove there and was surprised to see it tucked behind a service station. This was either go to be epic or a bust! Walked in and first thing you notice is they are hand making their noodles on site. Awesome! Ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu and a green tea. One thing I love is the simple direct menu. The ramen quickly arrives and I was transported back to Japan. It was incredible! So delicious and full of flavor! Rest assured next time I am in town, I am going to stop by Ramen Ya!

If you have been to the Pacific, especially Japan, this place will bring a feel of nostalgic because it is like being at one of the Ramen places in Japan. You can either take out or sit down and enjoy the meal. The places offer some interesting beverage, choices, again assemble of the Pacific. The service could be better because I felt that we had to wait at times to get detention of the staff, but it was a busy night when we went, which is probably a good sign, meaning it's a business well liked & enjoyed by the commuting.. again, the ambience, reminds me of a time spent in Japan. The dining area was clean as well as the bathrooms, which is always a plus in any establishment that you enter?.

They have a noodle making machine and station visible to the dining room! Really delicious, good-sized portions, and you can order an extra size of noodles to take home or for little ones. The black garlic spicy ramen is so good! If you get there during peak hours they may be a waitlist.

This place is awesome and unassuming. If you're coming near a meal time, be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes. I liked their beeper system and you can leave cell phone number on the wait list as well. Service was quick once we were seated, broth came out piping hot in 10 minutes, and we just guzzled it down too quickly. I ordered the tonkatsu with an extra egg and partner got the spicy miso. Mine was just right and slight spice. Eggs were cooked to perfection, nice jammy consistency. Spicy miso was 8/10, could have been a 9 if the miso flavor was stronger. We will be back!

I placed a to go order inside the restaurant. They said it would take about 20 minutes but I barely waited even 10 minutes. Everyone was very nice. The restaurant was very crowded and there wasn't much space to stand to wait for a table or to go orders. They also had very loud music playing but it was otherwise very nice. The food was delicious. The pork in the tonkotsu was super tender and practically melted in my mouth. The broth was super flavorful and had a good spice to it. The edamame I got was also super good. A little overcooked but was nice and salty. Overall it was a super good take out experience and I fully plan to go again.

Probably the best ramen I've had in Maryland!! Definitely get the kimchi onigiri (seaweed wrapping rice, filled with cheese) and I highly recommend the blackjack and spicy tonkotsu ramen; the meat and noodles are so fresh, and service is great. Usually busy but most definitely worth the wait.

Ramen Ya always always comes through. Whether it's a solid bowl of soup or delicious pork buns they have such amazing consistency. While I have not eaten inside, I can say that the take out service is always on point and amazing.

It been a while since I had been to this spot but it's even better than I remembered. Great lunch prices and service is extremely fast. They have the best broth and everything blends well in their ramen bowls. They don't have a lot of seating but the place turns tables quickly. They also have a Togo option which I have used twice.

The food was great, solid ramen for a good price. I really liked the garlic in the black jack which is basically spicy black tonkotsu. The server was a little distracted, forgory my drink so just one less star.

1st time here today and I can't believe it took me this long to find this place. I jad heard of it before and I just judged the area and didnt think the ramen here would be any good. Boy was I wrong. The noodles are cooked perfectly "al dente", the broths very flavorful and the place is clean and had a good minimalist but classy ambiance. Good alcoholic drink options and we tried a delicious Yuzu bubble tea special today. We came around noon, half an hour after they opened on a Saturday and they were packed; we got the last open table. But this was not our last time, we already cant wait to come back!

Great time here Service is super quick Ambience is what you'd expect average noise level and pretty busy Food was so good Definitely will return here when I go back to the East Coast Prices were also very reasonable All around great place

It was nice and cheap lol. They have a few options. We enjoyed our meals and it was a friendly atmosphere. Closed on Sundays :(
