Holy cow this place is not just any Mexican food. We’ve walked by a few times and gotten churros, but I hadn’t left a review because we never got other food. We just did and wow, this place is ludicrously good. First, the churros — these are everything you could want from a churro. Just fried dough with the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, clearly made to order. But the most awesome thing are the tacos.
I’ve had a lot of tacos in my life — I usually try to get a few at every Mexican place so I can compare places apples to apples. This place’s are easily among the best. They are significantly larger than I expected them to be, with two tortillas each and a ton of fresh onions, tomatoes, and some cilantro. I got the asada and tripe. Asada is pretty much always good, and this was no exception. I wasn’t expecting to like the tripe taco, but I was blown away by this. It’s cut thin and deep fried — it’s a little like slightly crisp bacon, but somehow better. And like the other tacos, they did not hold back with the portions.
This food truck is located by a few other food trucks on 7th Ave. If there was a little more shade, this would be the perfect location. Still a super fun place to go, just maybe wait until it’s cooler than 90f outside. I am very much looking forward to coming back here!
