Yelp
First time visiting and had a nice experience. They have a small inside tasting bar, but large patio with beautiful views across the Ramona hills and valleys. They're in the process of building a new, larger tasting room and wine facility, which looks to be promising. The afternoon we were there, they had live music, which certainly added to the atmosphere.
WINES: Kim poured for us and was such a gracious hostess. We tasted 3 whites ('20 Sauvignon Blanc, '20 Viognier, and '20 Chardonnay) as well as 5 reds ('17 Whatever! Blend, '13 Petite Sirah, Reserve Super Tuscan, '17 Reserve Sangiovese Estate, and '17 Reserve Tannat). Our favorites were the Petite Sirah, and the Tannat which I haven't found anywhere else in SoCal. We love Tannat and I felt this one was middle of the road. Honestly, the wines were not really our style, however as I always say, wine tasting is subjective. Based on the size of the crowd and everyone seemed to be loving their wines, I would say to stop in and try for yourself.
According to their website, Ramona Ranch is San Diego County's only certified Sustainable Vineyard and Winery. They serve a variety of interesting whites and reds, as well as tasty Sangria during the summer. They're pet and picnic friendly.
