Used google to find a bakery close to where I was at the time. Pleasantly surprised at this adorable bakery with so many options including vegan and GF. What we tried: chocolate cupcake and pumpkin cupcake. Both were delicious! The freshest baked cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! Loved sitting outside to enjoy our cupcakes. Can’t wait to return and try more items! Carrot cake cupcakes were the best I’ve ever had!

We used Ramona Susan's for cupcakes for our wedding! Setting up a tasting was easy, and once we'd decided what we wanted the ordering was easy too. Several of our guests had specific dietary restrictions (celiac, dairy allergy, soy allergy, etc) and Ramona Susan's did a great job making individualized and clearly marked cupcakes for those folks in separate containers without any cross contamination. Everyone was happy, many people had more than one cupcake, and my new spouse and I were glad to eat the few left over 😁 we got classic wedding white cake cupcakes with vanilla frosting, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, and pumpkin cupcakes with spiced frosting. During our tasting we found we didn't really enjoy their buttercream; it was a little oily and bland for our tastes. The vegan soy frosting however was delicious so we went with that!

Excessively sweet and left me with an unpleasant aftertaste. Considering the $26 price tag, it was a complete waste of money. I was pleased at all.

I did like it a lot! I ordered the PB and chocolate pudín and a latte with oat milk. Delightful in a morning day , they have a beautiful set up with table and chairs to seat outside.

My brain wanted this place to be wonderful, my waistline wanted it to be mediocre at best. My brain won this round l.. my spouse is gluten intolerant, there were soo many gluten free options and let me tell you, they were incredible. We sampled a few items .. cheesecake, blonde, chocolate peanut butter pudding, and gf cupcakes. Then for those of us safe to eat gluten we tried the chocolate chocolate cupcake, vanilla with chocolate frosting cupcake, birthday cake cupcake and red velvet. There is nothing to critique. Delightful experience. Do yourself a favor and go!!

Everything I purchased today simply did not make it to this photo because I needed to taste it! Ramona Susan’s is one of my favorite bakeries in the city. I love walking up to the window, seeing what the seasonal and specials are, and just ordering a bunch of treats. I usually top it off with a dirty chai for the walk home, or a seasonal citrus in the summertime! Everything I have had is out of this world delicious. Customer service has always been excellent as well. Thank you!

ordered a custom cake for my birthday and it came out beautiful and tasted delicious! also ordered a smash cake(ate it before we we able to take pics) to celebrate my bf later in the week and that also came out great!! everyone I spoke to was super friendly and helped bring both cakes to life! editing to add another photo of the smash cake I got to celebrate 17 years of friendship with my best friend! it came out so cute and was delicious!!

Our favorite bakery with friendly staff and consistently tasty treats. We have ordered standard cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cheesecakes, holiday items, ice cream sandwiches and cookies on a consistent basis and they never disappoint. In 2024 we also ordered a custom cake for an engagement party and the staff were so accommodating to fit our party size and design preferences, it turned out beautiful and everyone raved about how delicious it was. It was also reasonably priced <3

First time trying this place out. Must pickup from the window as the entrance is closed off. and eating it seems homemade. The heart cookies were sweet but just missing that certain someone to share them with. One of the macaroons was off kilter appearance wise but food wise- I mean it's TooGoodToGo. The taste is fine. Nothing like when Miel existed or the one off of Race St. if it is still there, probably French exquisite in those places. Staff is friendly. The custard like dessert was flavorful and I have no idea what this mash was besides edible and delicious! A local shop a tourist probably won't hit unless they are using TooGoodToGo or reading this review by chance, then maybe.

Yesterday I stopped Ramona Susan's for a birthday cake for my husband, Dave. I did not preorder the cake because I am a procrastinator! They had a beautiful vanilla buttercream cake right there waiting for me. The very friendly baker had lovely penmanship. I cannot say enough things about how delicious this cake was-light and creamy, dense and sweet. Absolutely outstanding! If you have a special occasion coming up or just want to treat yo self pop over to RS and support this adorable local business.

I stopped by Ramona's because I heard about the pretty rainbow cookies! I wasn't disappointed. The lady that was working there said they're mostly known for the cupcakes, so I tried one of those too. She was right, the cupcakes were the highlight of the two sweets that I tried. It probably differs between flavors, but the carrot cake one has this cream cheese-like frosting that complimented the moist pastry with salty, sweet flavor. The rainbow cookie? It was beautiful, but I've had better. I probably would've liked it more if it had raspberry jam or something else to add complexity to what otherwise just tastes like an amaretto flavored cookie with a bland chocolate coating. Overall, the shop has enough novelty that I would visit again to try something else.

It's been 6 years since my previous review. They still got it. Still the best cake. Still the only legit red velvet cupcake around. Still polite staff. Will be back to review again in another six years and I doubt my opinion of them will change!

Ramona Susan's Bake Shop definitely helped lift my spirit with their delightful treats! I've been wanting to find a nearby bakery in Fishtown that has amazing cupcakes and here it is! I was nearby, unfortunately, at the Police Department filing a report due to some rando vandalizing my brand new vehicle. Sucks. Yay, street parking (not). They weren't that helpful, and I decided to take a nice autumn walk from there to Ramona Susan's Bake Shop. The employee at the shop was nice and helpful. She suggested some dessert options for Friendsgiving! I had the pleasure of trying their yummy birthday cake, vanilla-vanilla, and pumpkin cupcakes. All of the cupcakes were delicious! Mmm! I can't wait to try some of their other treats!

The first time I tried this bakery I was just looking for cupcakes for a mini celebration. Myself and others tried it and we were hooked. Then most recently I was looking for a bakery in the area that would make a custom smash cake and cupcakes to match. Ramona Susan's was one of the only bakeries that I tried in the area that was making custom orders. The folks that work there are always friendly and make helpful suggestions. Not only did the cake & cupcakes look good they tasted delicious. The cake was moist, the frosting was delicious, and I believe strawberry flavored. Most importantly my daughter had a great time with her smash cake! Since the cakes are a hit, the staff is really helpful and friendly, and they are close by, this will be my go to for cakes!

I asked for recommendations on FB for cupcakes to send to my ICU team at a hospital, contacted Susan's made the order only to be contacted later and told we don't deliver to that area...Huh? You don't deliver to a major hospital? It's not down some dark street....so silly Two doz is a small delivery?

WOW! I'm very much impressed and pleased with this business! I like that you can order inside (small space FYI) or outside with an available window order - very convenient if you happen to be walking your dog and want something sweet on your way home! The lady tending to the shop was very friendly and shared her insight on local favorites. I got the ice cream cookie sandwich - this is to die for! M&M cookies with an ice cream filling that is similar to the surfing in a cannoli? It was delicious! I also got 6 cookies (sugar, M&M, peanut butter) - all were very good but the sugar cookie was my favorite! I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. I'll be back!

Picked up a couple cupcakes to cheer myself up. Opted for birthday cake and carrot cake. I pre-ordered online and they were ready for pick up when I arrived about twenty minutes later. These cupcakes are absolutely devine! Soft and sweet. They were both topped with sprinkles and crystallized sugar. The frosting was the perfect amount. Some of the best cake I've had. I can't wait to come back and try some of their cookies. The crumb cake also sounds delicious. An amazing sweet spot in fishtown.

Cute neighborhood shop selling cakes and cupcakes. Their cupcakes are beautifully decorated and pretty nice. Not something that I would come over and over for but definitely good enough to get whenever I'm in the neighborhood. They only have a couple of tables on the sidewalk and are mostly open through a delivery window. The girls working there were very friendly.

Awful! The very expensive custom made cake I got stained the mouths of all guests. Terrible food coloring must have been used! When I questioned the staff and the owner regarding the reason, I got shut down and they were extremely rude in my interactions with them. They refused to refund me a fraction of the amount and the owner told me to go somewhere else next time instead of trying to help.

Came by after seeing a sign out front. Had to get a chocolate frosted cupcake, an inevitable weekend midday treat. For the price, such a small cupcake was very disappointing. The chocolate frosting was minimal and sticky, and the cake was dense but alright. Overall not a place I'd buy from for a casual cupcake treat, maybe their cakes are better though.

Ramona Susan's has become my go-to bakery for the holidays this year. For Thanksgiving, I ordered a pecan pie, and for Christmas, I went with the chocolate cream/cherry cordial. Though I can't have pecans, the pecan pie was a hit with everyone who tried it. The chocolate cream/cherry cordial pie was also delicious and so unique - the whipped cream on top was spiked with liqueur, too! It was nice to be able to order ahead and pickup right before the holidays, and pickup was seamless. Highly recommend checking them out for all of your holidays, birthdays, special occasions, and whenever you're craving something sweet and yummy!

I don't often write reviews, but I decided to order a 1/2 sheet of Philly-fetti cake last minute and Romona Susan's accommodated me without complaint. I emailed with Betty, who was very communicative and friendly. When I went to pick up the cake, the woman behind the counter was equally as friendly and I could hardly mask my excitement. The cake was stunning and absolutely delicious (and rather reasonably priced). I think everyone enjoyed the cute, funfetti theme and the cake and icing was SO good, I wouldn't hesitate to order literally anything else from this bakery. It's now my go-to and I'm looking forward to having more excuses to order custom cakes

Amazing! Delicious moist cupcakes with many flavors available. Two locations with online ordering, curbside pickup and they also deliver. I went to the one off broad and South. Ordered 18 cupcakes with a note 'happy birthday Kaitlin' and they wrote on the cupcakes. Extra points! We had all the different flavors and literally everyone who ate one, not only nodded in agreement of deliciousness but took a minute to see the name of where we got them from and I spread the word. Definitely go, order, deliver... do YOU they will not lead you wrong. Sorry no pic, drinks and cupcakes make me forget

Stopped here for my wife's BD cake. I got cake life last year for her and wanted to try someplace new. I grabbed the last cake in the display case. I assumed it was a vanilla or chocolate cake. I assumed wrong. Kinda wish the baker would've told me the flavor but hey, I never asked... My kids can't eat food coloring and the cake was loaded with rainbow confetti - bummer. My wife and I couldn't tell what flavor the cake was supposed to be ...to be completely honest. Grape jelly? Frutti Pebbles? Disappointing. We loved the chocolate chip cookies though, Kinda glad I bought them to fall back on. * my anti-social ass should have communicated * I'll stop in again.

I needed to order 4-dozen cupcakes for a party in a city I've never been to, so I took to Yelp and searched for the bakery with the best reviews. Now I know why Ramona Susan's was at the top of the list. From the first email I sent explaining our unique situation, Betty was fantastically helpful, responsive, and thorough in her replies. In only a few exchanges, I felt completely confident ordering blindly from a place where I'd never been. On the arranged pick-up day, we pulled up to the tiniest bakery I'd ever seen, with the coolest kitschy sign out front, and I knew this place had to be something special. Betty had my order all wrapped & ready to go, and let me tell you - these cupcakes were PERFECT. Exactly what we had in mind, so in terms of presentation, RS's nailed it... but how did they taste? 40 people from 9-60yrs old proclaimed these were some of the *BEST* cupcakes they'd ever had. We even had a few gluten-free funfetti cupcakes made, and our GF guests couldn't believe how great they were. Their consistent 5-star reviews online are well-deserved, and I wanted to proudly add to that collection. Kudos, and a million thanks to Betty at Ramona Susan's for a delicious order of swirly, sparkly, colorful cupcakes that absolutely elated a 10-year old on her birthday.

Their website proclaims "Philadelphia's tiniest bakery" and they're not kidding. This tiny corner-store bakery offers up a select few baked items including cupcakes, cookies, brownies, buttercake(!), cheesecake, dessert cups, and a couple of vegan items, too, among the few. I do have a peanut allergy, so normally I am hesitant to trust, but the sole worker was able to tell me which goods were nut-free. Note: peanut goods will be stored in the same fridge though not touching. Alas, I ordered two Birthday Cake cupcakes, a Red-Velvet cupcake, and a brownie. I thoroughly enjoyed the red-velvet cupcake with cream-cheese icing. The cupcake was moist and full of flavor while the icing held a firm texture that simply complimented the cake. After devouring the cupcake, I couldn't resist on holding off on the brownie. It did not disappoint! The brownie was moist, chewy, and fudgey with a lovely texture delivered by the added by the chocolate chunks. Big fan! My only regret is not enjoying it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Overall, definitely a great local spot to check out and grab scrumptious sweets at a reasonable price. They do offer custom cakes, cookie cakes, and baked trays - will give them a shot in the future for an event!

I've walked past this place several times but finally got a chance to stop today. WOW. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was blown away! I got an iced chai and two cupcakes. The cupcakes were so moist and I was literally licking the paper to get every last piece! Everything was delicious, the packaging was cute, and it was super easy to pay with a card. I will definitely be back! (And tbh I'm glad I don't live closer because I'd probably be there every day.)

I'm so grateful that getting a puppy recently has caused me to take many (and I mean many) walks all around Fishtown, because we walked by Ramona Susan's and stopped in on a whim to see if it was good. I stayed outside with the pup, but my boyfriend went in and bought a chocolate oreo cheesecake, a butter cake, a vanilla cupcake and a carrot cake cupcake. He told me that it was tiny inside! Not a knock, just a comment in case anyone planned on coming here with a group. Normally I don't care much about cheesecake, and chocolate cheesecake doesn't excite me at all. This cheesecake, however...OMG! I was thinking about it for hours. There is some left in my fridge right now and it's taking all of my self control not to eat it all right now. The carrot cupcake was good, but to me the vanilla one really stood out. Either way, I really was impressed by their baked goods. From coming onto yelp and seeing they also make custom cakes, I am now excited to try them again for a custom order in the future. In the meantime, I will definitely be stopping in on my walks to indulge!

Best cupcakes in Fishtown! They do a cream cheese frosting that is perfect. Their cookies and brownies and cheesecakes are also beautiful and tasty. The flavors change regularly, so there's always something new to try. They have gluten free and vegan options that are also rich and flavorful. They're open late on weekdays and weekends, so you have delicious sweets available all evening. The service here is also impeccable. It's a small mom and daughter shop and everyone who works here makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. Anything here that is passion fruit is well worth a try. Even their passion fruit green tea is so unbelievably good. My favorite cupcake is the red velvet or passion fruit.

My family brought me a cake for my birthday from here and it was GOOD! Sometimes when you see these cakes they look good but taste not so good! The cake was moist and buttery and the butter cream was good ole fashioned butter cream! I'm very finicky-I highly recommend giving them a go!

What a great bakery! I ordered a birthday cake (what I thought was) last minute via email. Although simple, they captured all of the details. The cake was moist and flavorful and the lemon curd filling was also a hit with the guests! A much better pick for around the same price you would pay at Wegmans or Acme! Support your local businesses!

Amazing!!! First time there last night and ordered the Fauxtess!!!! Chocolate cake was moist and the fudgey icing was perfect!!! Can't wait to try the rest of the vegan goods.

I love this bakery! I use the branch on South between Broad & 15th. Although the cupcakes are on the small side they are worth the $4+..(if I want a big cupcake I can go to DiBrunos on 18th & Chestnut and pay $8)The cake and frosting are always perfect. My finicky dog also loves the dog cookies. And the workers are always very nice and smiling. Baking isn't the fast buck business it used to be. Butter & sugar isn't cheap..or rents and overhead. I'm just grateful they're in my neighborhood and are as good as they are.

I needed a pie for a dinner party. When I walked into this bakery the smell of yummy apple pie was present So, in bought one. It was yummy delicious! I'll be back

My first experience with Ramona Susan's was a few weeks ago, and it involved ice cream sandwiched between two brownies. I cannot describe to you the heaven that these brownies were, but, if you get the chance, grab some. Also, the lemon curd cupcakes were out of this world on Easter, and they were decorated so adorably, they were a total hit with the family. On Sunday, we picked up our daughters 1st birthday cake, and, not only did they exceed all expectations for decorating the cake, the cake was so amazing, a cake that was big enough to feed 40ish was eaten by about 20 people-everyone went back for seconds. I've never seen a cake be so much of a hit with a bunch of adults! We opted for the very basic vanilla/chocolate cake with buttercream icing, which I was a little hesitant to do considering they have so many more adventurous flavors, but even the biggest foodies at the party raved about this cake. We'll never get our baked goods anywhere else. On top of having the best cake, and cool other items, the girl who took my order was super sweet, knowledgeable, and unpretentious, which is SUCH a huge deal when you're dealing with such high quality product. Thank you for helping us make the day a success!

This is one of the cutest and tastiest bake shops in Philly. The owners are so down to earth and they take pride in their ingredients and their products. The flavors of their desserts are some of the best. I definitely recommend stopping by and trying some of their desserts

I had an amazing experience with Ramona Susan's Bake Shop! I needed a custom cake made in less than a week and she accommodated for me. I was able to pick it up promptly in the morning before my party. She was already making a batch of red velvet cake and I wanted it to have black frosting, so we compromised! The cake was delicious, she went above and beyond with the details. I added the cake topper, but it all worked out so nicely! I would use her again for any of my dessert needs!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BAKERY. I had an extreme urge for some gourmet cupcakes at 5 pm after a long day at work and of course everywhere around me was closed. That's when I stumbled upon this bakery that happened to be open til 8 and I couldn't be more thankful that the places around me closed early. I couldn't decide which cupcake to choose so I decided to try 3? I figured that made sense. I also decided to give a mini cheesecake a try because it all looked so good! My rating for every sweet I stuffed my face with would be 11/10. The chocolate on chocolate was perfect! Satisfied my chocolatey craving and was super moist. I enjoyed every bite! The carrot cake was very sweet and had the perfect consistency. Not to mention that the icing was the perfect amount of sweet. My favorite cupcake was the red velvet. I'm a sucker for a moist cupcake with some quality cream cheese icing. I didn't expect to like the cheesecake all that much because I'm not exactly a huge fan but I was pleasantly surprised. The best part was the crust. IT WAS CRUNCHY AND CHOCOLATEY AND HAD CHOCOLATE CHIPS INSIDE!! I took one bite and knew I was doomed to never enjoy cheesecake from anywhere else ever again.

I was in need of a special design cake last minute. Found this shop on yelp, I emailed them and they responded quickly. Unfortunately they were able to do the special design due to limits during this time but did recommend two other bakeries that could and it was extremely helpful. I heard back from both shops and the one we ended up going with was perfect. Although I can't speak for Romonas cakes I can say their customer was above and beyond!

This is the cupcake that will be waiting for you when you cross through the Pearly Gates. It's as if God himself made it. Shear decadence unmatched anywhere. And I've eaten many cupcakes.

Stopped by with no advance phone call on Thanksgiving eve, hoping for a pecan pie. "We baked extra!" Left in about 1 minute with a fresh pie in my hands.

**** UPDATE ****** This bakery has THE BEST goodies!! Their cupcakes are the best I've ever had! You know how a lot of times it's either the cake OR the icing that is good, but the other is not so good? Well, this bakery's cupcakes has the best icing (and the perfect amount), and the best cake too! I scrape the the cake wrappers/containers to get every bitI am so addicted to this place! I just wanted to reiterate my original review as it's only gotten better! OMG this bakery!! The best cupcakes, with the best icing! The individual sized buttercake, the brownies, the chocolate pudding, the baguette rolls! I haven't tried their cheesecake yet. They also have vegan cupcakes I need to try, and oh yea, they have espresso and lattes with regular and soy milk!! Absolutely LOVE this bake shop! I've had cupcakes from Ramona Susan's many times, but this past weekend my friends got me a cake from there for my 30th birthday. BEST cake I've ever had in my 30 years! Birthday cake with cream cheese icing was simply amazing. Also was beautifully decorated with perfect writing. Couldn't have asked for anything more to complete my birthday! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

My husband last minute ordered me a sloth cake for my birthday party. I didn't personally meet Ramona, but my husband said she's extremely sweet and has a lot of variety. The cake turned out great, and it was also delicious. Thank you Ramona!

Such a great bakery. The people who work here are so sweet, friendly and helpful. On top of that all of their sweet treats are amazing. I've gotten cheesecake for a few holidays, and my family is requesting more. Truly one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had, even cheesecake skeptics became fans. I like stopping in here while on strolls to grab a treat as well. Definitely my go to bakery in town.

I asked for a vanilla cake for my fiancé's birthday the morning of. They didn't have any at that point but said they'd be able to make one by later in the afternoon. I ended up with a 5 inch vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and it was both pretty and delicious. I appreciated the sugar rim on the outside bottom and sprinkles on top. My fiancé, friends and I all loved it. Will definitely come back for more cake.

Ramona's is such a great place. I havent been here in a while but stopped by on my way to work. The staff is super friendly, as always, and the coffee and cupcakes are sooo good! You can also get doggie treats. Highly recommended!

I always pass this place on my way to the gym and on my way home from the gym. I always considered going in, but never have until today. My sister and I each got a cupcake (they have vegan options, too!) and a coffee cake. OH MY WORD they are some of the best desserts I have ever had. HIGHLY recommend. Friendly staff member behind the counter, too. They also gave doggy bites that my sister's dog very much enjoyed

Ramona Susan's also does custom cakes. We ordered one for our rehearsal dinner (yellow cake with lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream) and it was insanely delicious. It was about $45 and stated that it served 10-12, but we squeezed a few more servings out of it and the pieces weren't small. Cheaper than Whipped bakeshop and just as delicious.

I ordered an amazing birthday cake. It was my first time here and I will definitely be back. I have already recommended this place to a friend. I ordered an 8in yellow cake, with peanut butter frosting in between and chocolate frosting on the outside. Delicious! I correspondent completely through email and paid upon pickup; it was a smooth ordering process.

Love this little gem around the corner from my house!!! I always run in get a chocolate tart and cupcake or cookie and run out :) it's super small inside so go alone lol very reasonable prices and amazing tasty stuff that will have you addicted !!!!

Love the cupcakes! The cake part is delicious all on its own and the frosting isn't like biting into a stick of butter like I've run into lately! Perfect all around! The right size and price! Location makes for relatively easy parking (maybe not on a weekend?) they take credit cards and are very friendly!

Best cake I have ever had! From placing my order to picking up the cake all the staff was helpful! I even changed my order the day before because I saw their salted Carmel on instagram, they added it with no issues! Everyone at the party raved about it being the best cake they ever had! You can't go wrong with any order you place. All my future cakes will be from here!!!!

The butter cake is fantastic. Delicious, gooey and a pleasant surprise. We stumbled across this on our way back from our morning walk and our interest was peaked when we saw her small sidewalk sign sitting out side. Stop in! It's worth the detour.
