"Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will expand his Chicago area footprint this year with a new restaurant in suburban Naperville. The team plans to bring the third location of Ramsay’s Kitchen, an all-day restaurant with a menu of signature Ramsay dishes including pan-seared scallops and sticky toffee pudding, in spring 2023 to 39 W. Jefferson Avenue, according to a rep. Housed inside a former Oswald Pharmacy, a historic family-owned Naperville apothecary that dates back to 1875, Ramsay’s Kitchen aims to cultivate an upscale atmosphere with a theatrical open kitchen that allows patrons to watch chefs while they work. At more than 5,600 square feet, the restaurant will seat 160 between a bar and lounge space, a main dining room, two private dining sections, and a seasonal patio. Reps promise design details like custom millwork — a nod to the building’s former occupant — as well as original limestone from the abandoned local quarry that’s now Centennial Beach." - Naomi Waxman

We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly as there were a lot of tables available. We were able to order brunch at 2:55pm even though it technically ends at 3pm. That was awesome! I had the salted caramel espresso martini (best I’ve ever had) and my partner ordered a Hugo spritz. Five stars for the cocktails! The steak and soft scrambled eggs were good. However, there was 1 potato that was completely black on the inside. I didn’t complain because I know they handle a huge volume of potatoes so this was likely a small miss and not really a big deal. The rest of the potatoes were fine. Service was friendly but on the slower side. My partner wanted another drink but our server didn’t stop by with enough time for us to do that. I would definitely return. I’m interested to see how service would be on a busier day.

Honestly, wholly and truly overhyped. I’m not sure what Gordon would think if he saw this restaurant was under his name. The service itself was not at all bad, the people working weren’t rude by any means. We were seated right by a large window, and had our menus right on our seats. The menu had quite a few options, and they had halal options, which is commendable. The starter that was ordered were rolls, which were a surprisingly good start. When the main food came out, the Beef Wellington was served somewhat lukewarm. The meat wouldn’t stay inside the pastry and felt nearly raw, unless that’s how it should be, which I wouldn’t know. The pastry was also sort of wet. The butter chicken was nowhere near what a butter chicken should be, there was barely any actual chicken in it and it was more of a rice dish, which is not butter chicken. The fish and chips were not bad, but also were served near cold. The truffle fries that were added to the lobster roll seemingly had no truffle to be found. The lobster roll was also good but felt over salted. The potato gratin was practically flavorless. The sticky toffee pudding was a decent dessert for an overall mediocre meal. I most definitely wouldn’t come back, don’t fall for the hype, it’s not that good.

Awesome food!! Fish was a little greasy as it left grease on my husband's plate. The service was awesome!!! Alison was very attentive to our needs and her personality was very friendly and helpful. There was dust on the sills next to the booth and the plates that were on the table when we sat down were chipped and had bread crumbs on them.

I was actually excited to visit another Ramsey restaurant. We have been to quite a few, most notably, Hell's Kitchen in Vegas. To say that we were disappointed was an understatement. The pricing was expected, but not the miniscule portions. I am not a big guy, but I can eat. The portion size of my beef wellington was nowhere near that of Vegas. The mashed potatoes that accompanied it would probably equal to less than half of an appropriate portion. The garnish of a thumbnail sized carrot was laughable. I really wish I had a picture to demonstrate, but my camera was acting funny. My wife had the risotto and added (2) pieces of scallops, which was an additional $21. We were expecting larger scallops as the pictures show. The taste was decent but had a weird consistency, kind of like oatmeal. The taste was there, just not enough of it for a $200+ tab. You can also see how my drink was brought to me...half empty 😩😂!

The food didn’t live up to the hype. Given the restaurant’s reputation and the high prices, I had high expectations, but I was disappointed with the taste. The mussels had some shell fragments in the soup, so you have to be careful when taking a bite, as it can be quite hard. However, the rolls and dessert were enjoyable. The servers were very friendly and helpful, which was a plus. Overall, it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to perhaps worth trying once, but that’s about it.

I loved this place! Went with my family for my birthday and the atmosphere is amazing. We were seated right next to the kitchen - fascinating to see the cooks hard at work & the energy. Our waiter (forgot her name) was amazing - so kind and patient with us. I got the crispy skin salmon - the dish was not just beautiful but also delicious. My brother got the Beef Wellington, and let’s just say it DOES live up to the hype. So tender and flavorful! If you go here you MUST get the Parker rolls as an appetizer - so warm and fluffy! Paired with the salted butter is to die for! We also got some sides that were outstanding. My father and I got salads to pair with our meals… they were perfect. I got the harvest salad - so fresh and the goat cheese was amazing! He got the Wedge salad and oh my gosh it was perfect! The Apple Crumble dessert was alright - not a lot of crumble but the sticky date cake was fabulous. Tasted like a warm caramel banana bread. I could go on and on about this place. Yes, it’s pricey but worth it for a special occasion and you’re definitely getting what you pay for. Will be coming again in the future!

Google
Have to start by saying I love me some Ramsay, but maybe my taste buds are childish. We ordered the crab cake it was small, thin for the price and overly soft as it if wasn’t cooked. We ordered the bread it was only warm on the top the inside was so cold. The butter that came with the bread was All Salt. My husband and I both ordered the fish and chips which I didn’t get a picture of. The fish was huge in size but bland. Not even salt nor pepper the inside of the batter of the fish was sticky and didn’t taste well at all. The “chips” they only gave us 8 fries and half of them were scraps. The restaurant doesn’t even carry hot sauce. Over priced for the lack of

I came here as part of a work dinner and there was much left to be desired. Truly, this was one of the worst meals I have eaten. EVERYTHING we ordered aside from the dessert was extremely salty, it was so overpowering you couldn’t taste any of the other flavors. Drinks were strong and dessert was EH alright. Definitely not a place to write home about. I would save your money and go someplace else. I’m so glad I didn’t have to pay for this outing because if I did I would have definitely spoken with a manager regarding the quality of the food.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and had the speciality pear cocktail, the chicken dish arrived perfectly hot and crisp. Service was impeccable, but friendly. Hoped to return sooner.

Yelp
Had a lunch reservation. Seated quickly by host. Ambiance is new and cheek. We both ordered the smash burgers. We each loved them! The truffle fries were to die for! I would come back again for dinner.

Yelp
I went to Ramsay's Kitchen while visiting in town with my family and I'm glad I did. Sometimes places like this lean more on the name than the experience, but this spot delivered on every level. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top-notch and I had to wonder if Gordan himself was lurking in the shadows waiting to scream if things weren't done just right. The photos I took speak for themselves because the food tasted even better than how it looked. The Scotch Egg and Chicken Milanese were two of my personal favorites. I also had fun eating the Ratatouille in the style made famous by that Pixar movie. While the dish is technically a Confit Byaldi (according to the nerds on Reddit), it's nonetheless a fun and tasty way to get your daily dose of veggies. The drinks were excellent too. I love fun and fruity mixed drinks that places like this come up with. And the service was exactly what you'd want at a place like this: professional, friendly, and politely humoring my elderly mother and her awkwardly pestering questions. Big points for that last one! One thing to note is to make reservations ahead of time. This place gets packed for good reason because before whenever I was in town, it was always booked!

Yelp
I went here on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I had eight friends join me. Here's what happened while we were there: A-Hair found in 2 of my friends water. Had to bring out new glasses. B-other peoples water was also dirty, had black stuff floating around. C-A very large hair was found in the order of dinner rolls that one of my friends ordered. D-the smash burger that one of my friends ordered was very very dry, to the point that she barely ate it. E-They forgot to bring out my potato gratin for appetizer, I had to remind them F-they ran out of pineapple juice so I couldnt get the drink I ordered. G-very slow service, took over 30 minutes for drinks, took a while to get our appetizer order, took over 30 minutes for the appetizer, and 45 minutes for the entree. All in all don't come here, save your money and go somewhere else. And make sure you ask how much their specials are because they are not really specials, they just charge per item and then combine it all into the price. The beef Wellington is underwhelming, most of their food was salty, $22 extra for two scallops the size of a half dollar each? Get real.

Yelp
Don't sleep on Happy Hour here. Mon thru Fri from 3-6pm. Drinks are between $12-$14 and there are menu items as cheap at $6. I met a friend here for HH and with 2 great burgers, 2 drinks, and the sticky cauliflower, our bill was under $60. Half the price it'd be if we ate here during regular hours. She loved it because normally Ramsay's would be out of her budget, but she was able to try some of their food at these prices It was really quiet at 6pm and we had the bar to ourselves.

Yelp
You can enter the restaurant from North and South side. We were seated in the middle booths and were able to see all the action happening in the kitchen. Went at noon on a Saturday. It wasn't busy until 1 to 2pm they were packed. Our waiter Adam was wonderful and refilled our waters many times. Had the Mocktail Hibiscus Sour, which was sour from the lemons. Would be better to have during summer time. Started with Scotch Eggs, crispy on the outside and egg yolk was perfect. The mustard was a bit strong for me, but the flavors were delicious. Also tried the Parker rolls that comes out warm and soft. Came with butter to spread on them. Had the idiot sandwich with mixed green and chose ranch dressing. Definitely keep the tooth pick in so it doesn't fall apart. Had a good amount of meat and the pickles were delicious. Wish there were more pickles. Had a slight sweet taste, but not as sweet as BBQ sauce. Mixed greens were fresh and the ranch was creamy and thick. Last we wrapped up with Sticky Toffee Pudding which is amazing. Warm gooey and with ice cream. Just melts in your mouth. We also tried the Chocolate Pot De Creme. The chocolate cream was very sweet and need to have a piece of the cocoa madeleines to help make it not so sweet.

Yelp
Maybe I had really high expectations since I'm a huge Gordon fan, but the food seemed mid at best for the price point! The ambiance and staff were lovely, but the portion size and some flavors were just a miss for me. We ordered: - Tuna Tartare ($27): Man this portion was a bit disappointing for almost $30. Also some of the tuna chunks weren't cut all the way through. Flavor was great though! - Beef Wellington ($69): This was my favorite dish for sure. Beef was extremely tender and on the more rare side, and the flavors of the sauce and veggies were great too! Just pricey. - Pan Seared Scallops ($49): Would not recommend this one at all. 5 scallops, all very different in size, and didn't have much flavor besides spice. The crispy rice underneath was hard and burnt tasting. - Sticky Toffee Pudding ($16): The pool of toffee sauce at the bottom put it way over sweet. We couldn't finish this one due to the sweetness level! The ambiance and decor is lovely here, so I could see it being a nice occasion spot. Our bill came out to $200, and I'd only rec the beef wellington!

Yelp
We ordered: Beef Wellington - potato purée, glazed baby root vegetables, red wine demi Jumbo Lump Crab Cake - herb aioli, mixed greens, citrus Sticky Toffee Pudding - warm date cake, ice cream, english toffee sauce Scotch Egg - berkshire pork sausage, shaved brussels sprouts and apple salad, grain mustard vinaigrette Chocolate Pot De Creme - cocoa madeleines, chantilly cream Crispy Skin Salmon - coconut green curry, sticky rice, thai apple slaw It's a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. You're ready to be super critical and take this guy down a peg. Well, this place exceeded expectations tbh. Our crab cake was a fat flavorful hockey puck packed with a ton of fresh crab. Scotch egg was cooked runny, fried perfectly, and lovely with the mustard. Adjacent salads were fresh and tasty. Beef Wellington was cooked perfect medium rare from edge to edge and so soft like the pastry. Salmon was decently tender, perfectly crispy skin, great coconut curry with a little heat, and rice could be a tad drier than wet for my personal preference. Desserts were fantastic. Chocolate pot de creme was made with dark chocolate and salted I think. Not too sweet, thick and creamy, and absolutely divine with the madeleines. Sticky toffee pudding was sweeter of course but had such a rich depth of flavor. We finished quite full and happy. Service was friendly and competent. I hope to come back next year.

Yelp
Went in on a whim for lunch. Got a parking spot right in front! Wanted to try this place for a while. Glad they let us in with me wearing leggings and a hoodie. Timothy was just so amazing. Loved how he showed us the design of the space. Explained how the lighting and designs were something representing Ramsey's home. Super interesting. I felt so fancy with him serving us like we were important and him just being so amiable. Had the side Caesar salad. Big bacon bits and the dressing was perfect. Love Caesar dressing with the anchovies! My hub had the burger and fries. He really liked it. I had the beef wellington. I have always wanted to try it. It was just out of this world. Such an amazing experience.

Yelp
I did enjoy this restaurant. My wife and shared a beef Wellington for two. It was a bit of an expensive meal, which I have no issue with as long as the restaurant delivers. Unfortunately this was not the case. The food was good, the service struggled a bit, and an old fashioned was $20. Gordon Ramsey himself would not have been impressed.

Padme A.

Yelp
We were excited to finally try this one. High expectations from a leader in the culinary arts. Ended up doing the Thanksgiving dinner with friends and it was a blast. The food was great. Cooked perfect in flavor and temperature. Portions where OK, not over the top midwestern fall off the plate, but there is no need for that here. The wait staff was incredible. Very attentive. Genuinely nice. The only down side was the price. But, we expected it to be higher end. For what you get, it's a little much, but again, good quality. Location is ok. In downtown Naperville so the drive takes a while coming from downtown Chicago but the parking was pretty easy to find. Compared to city parking. We'll keep it in mind for special occasions and trips out to that area, but not going to be a regular.

Rick S.

Yelp
Overall, just OK. We thought the menu was very limited and pricey. However, we also thought the wine list was good and fairly priced. The atmosphere was very nice. We were seated in a sort of, separate area upfront, which made the evening very enjoyable. As for the food, we had a special, beef Wellington for two, a risotto with shrimp and scallops, and a large harvest salad we split between 3, before our entrees, finally a large harvest salad with chicken. The salads were reasonably price and a good portion size, easily shared between 3 of us, before our entrees. The entree portions leaned towards the smaller size, just barely enough. As for their tastes, they were just OK, nothing special, at all. But for the salads and wine everything else was about 25% over priced, in my opinion. In the end, I doubt we be back, except for a drink.

Yelp
I brought my grandparents to Ramsay's Kitchen. We parked in the parking lot behind the main entrance, so already, there was a lot of walking to the "front" entrance. My grandmother had a walker. When we approached the hostess stand, there was a younger female (hostess I'm assuming) on the phone as well as THREE men in suits with RK (Ramsey's Kitchen) pins on their lapels. We were never greeted. I asked the closest man in the suit and lapel pin if we could put our names down. Nobody else was waiting, but the restaurant was bustling! He said "it'll be just a sec..." but did nothing! He didn't move. He didn't check the computer. He barely looked at us! The woman was still on the phone (clearly he was waiting for her), but I've got my grandmother here with her walker! Say something more than "it'll be just a sec"! And it was not "just a sec". We waited for a solid 5-7 minutes just staring at this manager type guy in a suit and branded lapel pin DOING NOTHING FOR US. He then told us it would be a 30 min wait, so we gave him our names. He responded "but you'll have to wait for her (the younger female) to be off the phone". So again, no solution to the problem or sense of urgency for my grandmother with her walker. When we finally did get seated- it was immediately after the gal got off the phone. She was incredibly apologetic and lovely. Our server was personable ands even spilled the beans that his manager was buying our appetizer. We ordered 2 apps and only one was comped. Fine. It was a nice gesture. The problem I have though is with the lack of communication from that manager guy. As far as the food went, the scotch egg was incredible. The fish and chips was a giant piece of perfectly breaded fish. Everything was just whatever. I hope that manager man gets a bit more training about how to treat disabled patrons and further how to communicate!

Yelp
Tried Ramsay's on Wednesday night (August 14th, 2024) what a great place....great atmosphere! It was my first time here and I was very impressed. Service: Our server was super friendly and helpful with my large group. He was very attentive and made sure my drinks stayed full (especially the adult drinks) :) Food: We absolutely enjoyed all the food. We ordered several appetizers (see pictures) and I had the salmon for dinner. It was cooked medium and to perfection. I had a gin drink (can't remember the name "Don't cha something" but it was very refreshing - so I had three) Sorry for not having all the details, but the most important details are that the food was FAB, the drinks were FAB, and the service was outstanding. I see why they are rated so well. I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
Our server was Jennifer. She was awesome !!! Came here for my son's 14th birthday as he is a huge fan of Hells Kitchen. Started the meal off with an order of the Parker rolls (12.00). They come in a cast iron dish (it's hot!) with a delicious buttery crust and sea salt sprinkle. Added on a scotch egg as that is one of my husband and my favorites. It was done perfectly. It was a single egg cut in half on a bed of shaved Brussel sprouts. It was good. But to me 13.00 was a bit pricey. Jennifer recommended a great bottle of red blend (letting us try before buying) that was 56.00. Not a bad price for a good bottle of wine in my opinion. On to the mains. Husband got the famous beef Wellington. It was done on the rarer side of medium rare and he liked it. He did expect the puff pastry to be a bit crisper but other than that it was done to his liking (69.00). The kid got fish and chips (29.00). It was a huge piece of haddock that was beer battered and looked fantastic. He really liked it. I got a seafood risotto. I didn't ask the price (mistake on my part). It was good (the lobster was a bit overdone and chewy in my opinion) the cost however made me do a double take. It was billed as an elite risotto (which it was and very good mind you) (22.00) add 2 large scallops (21.00) and 3 shrimps (12.00) that would have been enough for me and a fine price, but then there was the small lobster at 26.00 ! This made for a grand total of 81.00. For risotto. At that price point I would have just gotten scallops and a side and still been ahead. But again this was my bad for not asking about the price upon ordering. We ended up getting two desserts, the sticky toffee pudding (16.00) and for my son the lemon cheesecake (14.00). I was kind of surprised that there wasn't a birthday dessert of some kind offered to my son being that was the reason we were there. But again I didn't ask, just assumed that since we had mentioned on the reservation and again when we got there that it was for his birthday. All in all it was a good meal. Was it worth the almost 400.00 price tag ? Probably not. And I don't know if it was that great that we would return anytime soon. But for a fun one of a kind thing it was nice.

Lou L.

Yelp
The food was very good. Not spectacular, but delicious. The decor was modern simple chic. Really just a toned down version of when this was a Ted's Montana Grille. The layout seemed identical. This was a special dinner at a hot restaurant, so I expected the hefty bill to be as such. I take no issue with the total. But the way the check was broken out offended me. Very shady. The specials were explained as "served with" various items. My wife's pork chop came with a dollop of potato salad, and my "seafood risotto" came with seafood in it. But on the bill, the potato salad and each type of seafood were billed separately. If they had just charged me one total price for each plate, I would have thought nothing of it. But if it had not been a secret that these were separate options, my wife might have ordered a different side, and I certainly would have skipped the tail-on shrimp. (I hate tail-on shrimp in a messy dish, and don't care if they look fancy.) The food tasted great, but the shady secret charges left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
Ramsey's is located in the heart of downtown Naperville. There is plenty of street parking and a parking lot right behind the restaurant. My husband and I came by for lunch on a Friday afternoon, when we walked in we were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't have one) but they were able to get us seated quickly. Upon being seated we were greeted by our server, Alison. She was an absolute delight. Sharing recommendations, and chatting with us about our experience. She thought a few steps ahead of what we may or may not need throughout lunch and made the experience super memorable. To start we got the crudo, it had a yuzu based sauce, it made the beautifully plated plate light, and refreshing. Highly recommend trying it. For our entrees we got the idiot sandwich and the burger. My husband and I split them so we could try both. The burger was juicy and flavorful without being too much. The jam and the onions added tons of flavors. While the idiot sandwich was stuffed with short rib, cheese and it was delish!ore often than not the short rib in sandwiches are dry but this was the opposite, it was quite literally dripping in the best way. For our sides we got both truffle fries and regular fries. The truffle fries were my favorite of the two but enjoyed both. They were crispy and were thicker which I prefer. For our drinks we both got mocktails, which they had tons of great options. We had the hibiscus sour and the love affair. The love affair had a lighter citrus taste and the hibiscus has more of a berry and fruity taste. Both super refreshing for a hot summers day. All in all, we had an incredible time and am looking forward to coming back for dinner and trying other entrees.

Rhonda S.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Rudy was an amazing bartender and gave us excellent service during our stay. We called ahead but reservations were limited so we sat at the bar. We both ordered crispy skin salmon as our entrees. The wine list was very extensive and we shared a crisp Sauvignon blanc. The menu is limited but lots of great meals and appetizers to select. The chocolate tart was to die for! The atmosphere is very chill and all of the staff are very nice. We enjoyed chatting with Lauren (Loren?) at the bar. The bathrooms are very clean and the facility is spacious. A very nice place to dine.

Miranda T.

Yelp
Drink Review Only! First off, the interior design . I loved everything from the mixture of textures and patterns within the finishes selected for the space, the creative space planning to accommodate as much soft seating as possible, and the major features in the space: open kitchen, lighting, curved ceiling details. This exceeded what I thought the space would look like. Onto the drinks. I popped in with my partner for an evening cocktail and sat at the bar. I do wish there weren't tv's to display sports; it takes away from the atmosphere but I get the commercial need for them. We ordered the One Last Kiss and Spiced Pear. Both were well balanced, garnished well, and presented in nice glassware. The Spiced Pear was subtle and creamy whereas the One Last Kiss was fruity with a dry bite at the end. Both were equally delicious and cost $16 & $17. The only draw back was our bartender was hustling from being busy. Early on he asked if we wanted water, we said yes, but never got them. It also took a bit to get our check as he was cranking out drinks for tables. It didn't take away from our experience overall and we will certainly be back!

Mike E.

Yelp
Meh....Good service & staff, nice atmosphere, food was mediocre. Maybe I had unrealistic expectation after watching Hell's Kitchen and restaurant nightmares, but was expecting more. Crab cake was really good. Beef Wellington was undercooked and to be honest WAY smaller than expected. Shared a bottle of the recommended wine that was good. Seafood risotto was OK, but just Ok and $80. Bill before tip was $310. For that kind of money I was expecting more than "Just ok".

RaymondandJody Q.

Yelp
Food was very good, except the NY steak for $80 was not cooked to our liking. I ordered Medium Rare & it was medium to medium well. Our waiter never checked to see if it was ok & we brought guests, so didn't want to raise a fuss. But so disappointed.

Courtney K.

Yelp
Went with a friend to catch up and while the company was nice, the meal and experience were mediocre at best. It's way too loud inside -- so much that we could barely hear our waiter. We went on a Monday night and felt rushed through our meal -- multiple servers, including our waiter on multiple occasions tried to take away plates that still had food on them! It seemed as soon as we each decided not to buy a second $19+ cocktail (hey, people have to drive home), we weren't worth keeping at the table - despite a pretty hefty tab at the end. It's also pretty overpriced for the quantity and quality you get. I don't need huge portions,, but when you pay $50+ for steak frites in suburbia, you should get at least a full portion of the steak. Wanted to love it, left disappointed. Would be surprised if either of us come back -- especially when there are more, better, locally owned places around.

Yelp
You may think this is just another famous celebrity chef restaurant with over priced items and sub par food. I can tell you that you are far from incorrect. Not only is the ambience of this place outstanding but it's the little things that add a touch. From the open kitchen that makes you feel as though you are part of home or immersed in a real life kitchen competition where you see the chef and all the action along with every dish that goes out. But you also have the details on the lights in the dining area which are shaped like the UK flag the more you look around you realize there is a mix of history from Naperville with a splash of GR's UK heritage. Ok so let's get to the food. The rolls, I mean seriously you can't go wrong with brioche buns with salted butter. Definitely a must. But let's get to the heart of what makes this man who he is. Along with why this place thrives. The scallops and pork belly with the apricot squash. The flavor from the sweat apricot then the saltiness of the pork belly with the melting of the fat and the buttery smooth scallop. No words can describe how your entire pallet is feeling, the party that goes on. Your taste buds go from 0 to 1k and then to sadness as nothing is left in your mouth but the memory so you go back for bite 2. The asparagus and the Parmesan cheese with the lemon zest and butteriness like how is this possible that an asparagus can taste so amazing. Oh and the snap but yet not over cooked nor undercooked. The brócolini and the spiciness from the garlic but not so overpowering that it's not satisfying and the toasted garlic that just makes you want more. I know you want to hear about the salmon and how it's just perfection with the crispy skin that's like a thin crack with flavor but not fishy not salty like I can't stop eating this chip. The steak frits and the sauces I mean every dish I tried I could smell the ingredients I could taste them they all worked so well together. The end the chocolate tart that chocolate layer that goes into the salted carmel it like being a kid again and tasting candy for the first time, like the sweet moment you realize this is life. Yes it was that good. I can't wait till my travels bring me back to this place. I dream of the Wellington and trying many other dishes.

Yelp
Food: good (3*) to excellent (5*) Starters: Crab cake & tuna tartare - 5* Main entrees: Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, and Idiot Sandwich - 4.5*; Bransino and Fish and Chips - 3.5* Dessert: Sticky Toffee - best ever... 5* Service (Roxy) - 5* - very friendly service, good recommendations. Only complaint is that our drinks were rarely refilled. But she more than made up for it by running to the parking lot to hand us our CC that we accidentally left behind. Thank you! Value: 3* - although the food was delicious... Very pricey. I suppose it was expected due to the initials over the revolving door. Overall: Celebrated my son's 21st birthday. Great experience. Thank you, RK staff. Other: Located in downtown Naperville. Parking lots near by. Casual attire. 3 stalls in small ladies bathroom - ok.

Yelp
Recently stopped by to celebrate two birthdays - mine and my daughter's 16th. We had a great experience as soon as we walked in! Super friendly and helpful staff and amazing food options. I've always wanted to try scallops so we ordered some as an appetizer and they were perfection..and I'm not a seafood fan for the most part! I loved that they have specials that are off menu because our server recommended the roast and it was hands down the best birthday meal I've ever had (and I love to try different upscale spots for birthdays). The meat was so delicious and tender. My daughter had a steak with chimichurri on top and she said it was seasoned perfectly and was great. For dessert we tried the Strawberry Eton Mess. It was so light and not too sweet..a perfect dessert for us to share. The staff surprised us with sticky toffee pudding for each of us with a candle too! That was so nice! Overall we had a great birthday experience and will be back in the future :)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I ate here for the second time yesterday and we will definitely come back for a third! The service is beyond fantastic and the food is even better!! I would highly recommended the broccolini, burger, and truffle fries! I'm not sure what sauce they give with the burger/fries, but it was the best sauce we've ever had! The only downside is that it cost $87 for two burgers and an appetizer, but with the quality of the food, I'm more than happy to pay the outrageous prices!

Yelp
we got seated near a dark part of the restaurant. We made reservations for two. We got seated right away. The food and service was fabulous. We ordered the scotch egg as an appetizer. I had the seafood risottos. While my friend had their burger. If was delicious all the food. Top notch service. Only thing was our seating we a bit drafty and too dark.

Yelp
Although most of Great Britain's food comes from France, Ramsays Kitchen offers some very high quality dishes from the old country. I tried his beef Wellington, a complex dish that requires a lot of time, patience, and skill. I was very pleased by its finish and was very pleased by the service of our waiter. Very professional as always. Will be coming back

Yelp
Fun place to eat! The vibe here is energetic. Everything we had was really good and the service was fantastic. We shared the crab cake appetizer, it's only for 2-3 people to share. I had to have the beef Wellington, not something you typically see on a menu. It was really good, maybe a bit overpriced? The scallops were very good as well. They have several allergy friendly foods and note that on the menu. The fish and chips was huge! I don't taste it but it looked good if that's the kind of thing you want. Nice spot in downtown Naperville.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal here. Service was excellent, and the manager did stop by our table at some point early in the meal to check on us. We tried a few different dishes, including the Idiot sandwich (loved the custom paper under the food) and the Shrimp and Lobster Spaghetti. We always love the Tuna Tartar, Parker Rolls and Lychee Cooler. Our only disappointment for this visit was our booth seating across from the bar which was not as comfortable as our last visit when we were seated in front of the kitchen, which was much more visual and comfortable. We also reserved indicating a birthday celebration, and while this was acknowledged at the beginning of the meal, there was no offer of a small dessert or even a candle or decoration for the dessert we ordered. This was distinctly different from a visit for a birthday last year, which is why this caught our attention. Overall, a great place.

Yelp
What are you? An idiot sandwich Checked out Gordon Ramsays restaurant in Naperville, Ramsay's Kitchen of course I ordered the idiot sandwich with truffle fries aioli sauce and it was HEAVENLY! What was also ordered a was one of the specials which was a steak sandwich on ciabatta bread with regular fries the cocktail that I ordered was called "one last kiss " and I ended up having two of them because they were delicious and of course you can't leave a Ramsay restaurant without ordering the sticky toffee pudding dessert it was a 10/10 experience and the service and ambiance were wonderful! It was what I expected and definitely did not disappoint! I have to go back soon!!!

Yelp
My first trip here was enjoyable. We sat at a table that backs to the kitchen serving area. Service was excellent and the good was of course a highlight. I had the Chicken Bahn Mi sandwich, which had great French bread and every ingredient was tasty! Lobster pot pie was good, with the unique touch of lobster meat being on the side. I look forward to my next visit-reservations are needed and plan in advance.

Yelp
Should have listened to the reviews on this one. We left this place a little disappointed. The best part was our waiter, she was amazing and very honest! The menu is so small. I got the scallops and they were good, my husband did not love his meal. Drinks were okay. I think the biggest disappointment is the menu itself

Yelp
Celebrated my friend's 25th birthday here. Very surprised at first to find out that there is a Ramsay kitchen in downtown Naperville. I've been to the one in Vegas and I have to say the beef Wellington here is so much better, less dry and more packed with flavor. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable in recommending certain dishes over others. Crispy salmon was chefs kiss too! Be sure to end the night with the sticky toffee. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
So, we finally got in, by popping in for lunch on a Saturday early 11:30 am and sitting at the bar. First impression --no one greets you. We had to ask to be seated and then she said, all tables are reserved, you need to sit at bar to eat, and handed the two of us one menu. The bartender was very very busy. How do you have only one bartender when he's making drinks for an entirely full restaurant? I've never had to wait for someone to greet me at a place of this price and caliber. Even Francesca's on NYE got to us sooner with water and drinks, when they had people standing in the entranceway. We sat there for a while waiting.....wondering if we were going to be served......it almost felt like we were in the way.....and everyone who works there is just ....really busy..... Once the bartender was free, he was exceptionally nice, and filled our water glasses (and refilled them again during the meal). So I guess there's no bus person to do that at the bar? There's no one who can pour you water at the bar, and greet you, if the one bartender on duty is busy? Contrast this with Sullivans the other day, where one waitress took our drink order and returned with it, because our waiter was too busy to approach our table, when we were first seated. Teamwork, people.......where is it? We ordered the crab cake app (small salad accompanied it), the Idiot Sandwich (like pot roast on a bun) with a side order of Truffle fries (came with salad) and 2 Agave Sundowns. My thought re the food & drink: The drinks are small sized but potent and made with fresh juices and no ice, so nice touch but for $20, still in my mind overpriced for Naperville. The crab cake $28 was superb and I'm picky re crab cake. No filler; all crab. The salads were fresh and not over dressed (just a light lemon vinaigrette--perfect). I was not a huge lover of the sandwich but my husband loved The Idiotburger $26 and it was a generous portion. The $12 truffle fries arrived lukewarm and were nothing special. All in all, sitting at a bar for $116 for 2 drinks, an app, burger, and side salad when the place sort of looks like a dressed up cafeteria and lacks a staff that can hustle and work together? I don't know about the inherent value there, but Naperville sure seems to love the place. It was crowded as ever. I feel more love for Sullivan's, Francescas and Allegory, but that's just us. Two strikes.....but a really nice bartender who works his you know what off. Maybe go for happy hour 3-6 pm during the week would be our only next option. If a restaurant is going to be fine dining, service should be similar.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying my husband and I have been to Ramsay's Kitchen on at least ten occasions, and we have always enjoyed the food, drinks, service, and ambiance. Tonight was no different ... it's what happened after our meal that left a sour taste in our mouths (pun intended). Aside from appetizers (Parker rolls and the wings), and drinks, my husband ordered the crab cake (it was great, as usual) and I ordered one of the chef's specials (risotto with truffle oil, scallops, shrimp, and lobster). The special wasn't listed anywhere, so I wasn't aware of the price (more on that later). It was very good - two scallops, three shrimp, and a piece of lobster that was the length of my middle finger and the width of my index and middle fingers, and approximately 3/4 cups of risotto. Here's the thing - when we got the bill, we discovered that every element of my entree was priced separately. The risotto was $30, shrimp - $12, scallops - $21, lobster - $26. I wish I had known the price beforehand (it would have been nice if the server had given us that information), but I'm going to take this one on the chin, because I didn't ask. We won't be returning to Ramsay's Kitchen after this experience, but just be aware if you order the risotto, shrimp, scallop, lobster special, it's going to cost you $90!

Yelp
Delicious food and great atmosphere! We sat at the bar with no wait on a Tuesday around 5:30/6pm. Bartenders were very helpful and accommodation to my food sensitivities and helping me get something I'd enjoy. Expensive, but that's expected for the type of restaurant.

Yelp
Going to a Ramsay restaurant had been on my bucket list for years. Then miraculously, one opened near me! It took a while to get reservations at a desirable time, so plan well in advance for that! We were here to celebrate our anniversary. The service, ambiance, and food were impeccable! The interior is warm, clean and inviting. Our server, Seth, had exceptional attention to detail and was the epitome of professionalism. Food- everything was fantastic. I had the crispy skin salmon, and my husband and I shared the Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese side. I literally do not like Brussels sprouts, but when I saw they were cooked with pork belly, croutons and honey I was intrigued. And WOW. these were actually my favorite part of the meal! But there was no losers here. Everything was perfect and the portion size was nice too. Not too small, not too big. My husband took home half his fish and chips (the piece of fish was MASSIVE), and some of the Mac and Brussels. It was truly a memorable experience. We want to come back to try more of the menu soon!

Yelp
Ambience: 4/5 Food: 3/5 They serve and all day menu with the exception of Beef Wellington that's only available for dinner. Full cocktail and wine list available. Recommend making reservations even for lunch on weekends. Inside was a very modern vibe with TVs around the bar. Hot roast beef sandwich with truffle fries: Wished the beef was a little more tender, but otherwise was fine Caesar salad: The pancetta was too salty and we ended up leaving it in the bowl. Maitake mushrooms: Delicious, but portion was very small. Sticky toffee pudding: They gave this to us complimentary for our anniversary, which was nice of them. Toffee flavors came through nicely. The cake was very moist (think tres leche) and the ice cream helped cut down the sweetness from the cake. Overall, ambience was nice, but the food fell a bit below expectations.

Yelp
My first experience with Ramsay's right after they opened was great. Was excited to have another quality restaurant in downtown Naperville. Went there for Christmas Eve dinner and it was not nearly as good. Instead of their regular menu with specials they had a limited menu with none and no mention on their website. The service was like a churn and burn tourist restaurant. The truffle risotto, tuna tartare, and beef Wellington were great. I ordered the truffle chicken. I was going to tell the server that it was dry and bland, but she did not show up again until it was time for the check. Really disappointing, but worth another shot on a slower night with a full menu. Don't get the chicken.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate my friend's bday and try their famous burger. The burger is good. Perfectly cooked and tasty. Good to try but you can get similar on a different resto and the price here is $23 which I think is overpriced since it is small too. One of the special of the day is bronzini with risoto is good but small portion, maybe 1/4 of the fish itself but cost $48, i like the milenese and the sauce that comes with it. All in all, the food is good but pricey. For me it is good to try but not something I would crave for. The service is good but the place looks like for a fastfood place. Like some review, it is kinda noisy.

Yelp
2nd visit here: we ordered the Crab Cake appetizer, Fish and Chips, and the Tagliatelle. Also had the Spiced Pear cocktail. The crab cake is just crab - it's one hundred percent crab with no other filling and a cracker crust. I appreciate the amount of crab, but I thought it was kind of one-note, and seasoning our sauce would've helped. The fish was well cooked and thinly battered, but the batter had no flavor. The tartar sauce was uniquely flavored with dill, and being someone who doesn't normally like tarter sauce, I particularly liked that. Both the fries and the tagliatelle dish were fine, if unremarkable. The star for me was the cocktail, which tasted like ripe, fresh pear. In two visits here, I've found some good things and some mediocre things, but for me, overall, this place is just not good enough to substantiate the price tag.

Yelp
This is a nice mid level date night spot, not dive bar but not high end either even though the prices are more towards top end. Starting off with the sticky wings and the Parker rolls which were both very good. Then I had a 14oz New York strip which was off the menu, it wasn't bad not high end steakhouse quality but it was good. The fish and chips which is something Gordon Ramsey is known for was very good it didn't disappoint. I would give this place a second try, good food (not the best), nice ambience and good service.

Yelp
I've wanted to visit a Ramsay restaurant for a while and was able to stop by with friends during a recent trip, the location is in a busy spot so getting there early to find parking is always a good idea. The service was great from the time we walked in until we left and the food was worth it!

Yelp
I had a reservation for Monday at 4:45 PM for a group of four. I was concerned before we arrived due to the early time but it worked well as an early dinner. As soon as we arrived, we were taken to our seats. We were seated in a comfortable alcove with plush seats and an elegant long table. Our server came over pretty quickly and took our drinks. I was happy to see that there were a couple mocktails on the menu. I ordered the LYCHEE COOLER which was nice but on the slightly too sweet side except for a slight bitter note from the lychee possibly. Throughout the night, service was great. Our server was attentive but possibly due to our seating area it was occasionally a bit difficult to get his attention if we needed something but he always came to check up on us periodically so it did not end up to be an issue. For our starters we tried: WEDGE SALAD: A really large portion of lettuce covered with cheese and dressing. The thick cut bacon was delicious and the cherry tomatoes and pickled red onions were a great compliment to all the items as well. TUNA TARTAR: The tuna was very fresh and came with a great choice of avocados. The flavor profile was a bit strange though especially with the side of sour cream. They also came with some deep fried wontons. There should have been more pieces though because there was not enough to go with the amount of tuna there was. For our mains we tried: BUTTERNUT TAGLIATELLE: The portion was very small. I didn't realize the purée was only on the bottom so the top of the dish was very bland and also unfortunately cold. The flavor of the purée was quite light but nice. However, I would skip this in the future. BEEF WELLINGTON: The tenderloin was just like the name states, so tender. Flavor was light on the meat itself; however with the puff pastry and the other items itself it ended up being a bit on the saltier side. The mashed potatoes on the side though were so delicious. STEAK FRITES: The steak was very tender; however, we had asked for our steak to be medium rare and instead they gave us closer to rare in the center cuts of steak. We asked to switch to truffle fries as our side and the flavors was great. Both sauces it came with were tasty but the spicy aioli had quite a kick to it. We shared two sides as well ROASTED HEIRLOOM CARROTS: Such tender carrots and flavor was great especially with the yogurt. The pieces of peanuts also gave it a nice crunch. CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS: Nice flavor and very well roasted sprouts. For dessert we shared the VANILLA MASCARPONE CHEESECAKE which was so delicious and a must order. That lemon cream on the bottom was amazing. All in all, a great dinner experience with comforting decor and wonderful service. Food was great but there were definitely some that deserved more of a spotlight than others.

Yelp
My experience here mirrors what others have said before. The decor is quite nice inside, fitting with the idea of dining in kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. The service is top notch, very attentive and our server was quite knowledegable about the food. Prices are a bit on the high side, even for finer dining in the area. You get the option of English dishes that aren't that easy to find on menus in the Chicago area. Portion sizes are alright, though the food is plated fairly nicely here. As many have also noted, the food is probably the weaker point here. Even if you don't consider the price of the food and the quality of the ingredients, the flavors are a bit on the bland side and fairly forgettable. Some of my thoughts on different items: Parker rolls - Hot and pretty fluffy. The sea salt butter does go pretty well with it but the fresh herbs are kind of lost. Portion size is pretty generous so you'd probably want 4 at your table to share if you order this. Fish and chips - The breading was actually quite nice on this and the fish was provided in nice thick fillets. Not the best I've ever had but it was done fairly well. Beef wellington - The filet is quite tender but I felt that the pate and duxelles overwhelmed the meat entirely and therefore didn't enjoy the flavor combination much. The potato puree was also a bit gooey for me, though I did like the preparation of the baby root vegetables. Baked mac and cheese - An okay side, the smoked cheddar was nice but I found that the dish overall seemed to be lacking salt. The chives were a bit lost for me, though the toasted breadcrumbs did add a nice texture. Sticky toffee pudding - Warm and alright. The date flavor wasn't overpowering and the ice cream did add a nice element of fat to the dish. The English toffee sauce wasn't overly sweet but it also didn't do enough to tie the elements of the dish together. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal with the nicely decorated restaurant, great service, and nicely plated dishes which made for great pictures. I didn't enjoy the food as much, as it felt like flavor was sacrificed in order to prepare each dish for a specific look and theme.

Yelp
Came here, quite frankly due to the name, recognition and just had to try it out and much more convenient to be in Naperville, then to go into the city any day of the week. Tried quite a few dishes as you can tell from the photos, and while everything overall was very good, nothing was overly special or unique or fantastic. Service, however, was extremely friendly and nice. Probably made the experience even better. Will say that, considering the competition, whether in Naperville or around Naperville, this place is pretty pricey, but that is expected, considering the name on the building. However, knowing the competition, there are some federal alternatives, even at the same, if not lesser price points. Have to say though if you haven't been and you are a fan, it is definitely worth the visit. It doesn't disappoint. It also doesn't stand out.

Yelp
The restaurant has a modern moody feel to it! The ambience is nice. The noise level was about average. Our server was exceptional and made the dining experience even better. Started off with Parker Rolls as our appetizer. The rolls were warm and fluffy and the butter added delightful touch to the rolls. Idiot sandwich with salad was a great choice and the tomato chutney sauce in the sandwich complimented the short ribs in the sandwich very well. The Vanilla Mascarpone cheesecake was milky as they used the mascarpone cheese instead of cream cheese. There were crushed pistachios and peach compote that made it even more delicious and refreshing. It seemed to be a summer seasonal dessert so I am curious as to what they will switch it out for the next season! I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate an anniversary. The beef Wellington was small but a great opportunity to try the dish. The taste itself was excellent and the mashed potatoes made the portion size of the dish perfect. The fish and chips are extremely crispy. The batter is basically a shell for the fish fillet which was very tender and mild. The cake was free to celebrate our special event!
