Yelp
This is a review of customer service. I selected Ramundo's due to their advertised "outdoor seating," since I was walking through the neighborhood with my dog. As other reviewers have noted, this would be two small tables; the only available table had one chair next to a trash can. No big deal.
I poked my head in and began to ask for a menu, but the server barked at me, "nonono, you can't have your dog in here." I calmly replied, "I know; I'm just letting you know I'm waiting outside at one of the tables. Please bring a menu." The server said okay, although continued to aggressively demand my exit. This took all of 20 seconds.
10 minutes passed, other customers were served, and finally the folks at the other table had to wave at the server to come outside. He did, and simply asked, "do you need a menu?" Yes, I still needed a menu. 5-10 more minutes passed; finally, other customers kindly held the dog leash while I went inside. I apologized that I could not leave a tip due to the long wait & way the other server treated me, but a second employee proceeded to berate me (no dogs, we're busy, no service outdoors). I understand, I said, but the other employee asked me to wait outside; he should've stated there was no service if that's the case. FYI I'm the type of customer that always tips 20%, and I frequently dine outdoors with my dog (many restaurants throughout the country), so Ramundo's left quite an impression.
If you enjoy being ordered around, waiting 20 minutes to order, and then being scolded, by all means eat at Ramundo's. Mainly, I felt lied to. If you don't offer service outside, don't tell the customer you'll be out to take their order - I would've happily gone elsewhere. If I wanted to pay $20 to get yelled at, I could've hired a professional heckler. I'd comment on the pizza, but it was too bland to remember anything about it. There are other locally owned businesses that actually want customers, so I'll look for those next time.
