Where ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ Cast Has Dined During Season 7 [Updated] | Eater DC

"The upscale tapas spot in Fulton served as the backdrop for Robyn Dixon and Mia Thornton to discuss a heated argument that took place at castmate Karen Huger’s spring fling event. They started off with a pink champagne margarita, then Dixon selected the crab quesadilla and Thornton the Caesar salad—with no croutons—as an entree." - Vinciane Ngomsi

My first time at this place and I was welcomed by Jeremy at the bar. Asked for his suggestion on what food to get and he recommended the Pork Stroganoff. It did not disappoint, however, it needed just a little bit more salt. Just a tiny bit. Other than that I had a great time and will go back again.

Loved this restaurant since they were located in Maple Lawn. Great food and service. Bartender Jeremy is a freaking incredible! The cilantro margarita is a new and unexpected favorite. The ceviche is the best in the area.

The vibe is much warmer than its previous location. Last night (Tuesday) two of us popped in for dinner. Even though I could have walked there from my house, I didn't know anyone, which is great, because it means plenty of people are finding this neighborhood gem. People were at the bar, and at tables. We had excellent patatas bravas, risotto with lump crab, Caesar salad, and a salmon small plate. The chef made an alternate preparation to accommodate my friend's need for gluten free. The white wine albarino was a delicious choice.

New hidden gem in Columbia! Sited in the former Hickory Ridge grill in the Hickory Ridge village center.Incredible food, unbelievable service, modern, comfortable and very cool space. Cocktails and prices not to be believed! Thank you, Robbie! Much success. Can't wait to come back!!

Just enjoyed an amazing 4 course wine dinner at Ranazul. No better way to learn about the wine than from the winemaker from Spain. Perfect pairings & very attentive service. The chef is amazing!

The staff was very nice, and the food was good overall. The Peruvian chicken was disappointing, and the entree options were not as plentiful, even with this being a wine bar and tapas restaurant. The atmosphere is so-so. I didn't get a particular war impression of the space. The service, however, was very nice. Probably a one-and-done for us.

I had the opportunity to try Ranazul on Saturday. I understand that Howard County is having a restaurant week, but this does not excuse the poor quality of food. The first dish that I tried was the beef tacos. The flavor of the meat was excellent, and the caramelized onions were a nice touch. However, the tortilla needed to be cooked longer, and the salsa served was a generic brand salsa like Chi-Chi’s. The second dish I tried was the Peruvian chicken. The garlic-heavy sauce was decent, but the chicken was drier than a summer month in Nevada. The third dish I tried was the chicken alfredo. Not only was the chicken dry, but the only flavor it had was the char from the skillet. The alfredo sauce tasted like Bertolli brand with no salt or pepper, and the noodles were not al dente. The person I was with ordered the Crunchy Honey Soy Shrimp, Crispy Chicken, and the Salmon Medallion. None of the dishes they tried were worth finishing. The waitress was young and nice but had no clue about the bar options and had to continuously ask a coworker about the different drink options. Overall disappointing experience, and I 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I've dined in the area so many times and finally stopped into Ranazul. My friend and I celebrated a job promotion. We got there right around 5 PM and shortly after the bar was packed. We ordered everything from the calamari, ceviche, salmon avocado sashimi, pork stroganoff, and their shrimp orzo. The sashimi was delicious and plenty of fish per dish. The stroganoff was really good with the tender pork tenderloin and mushroom sauce. My friend and I agreed the shrimp orzo was one of the best dishes. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the orzo with the brown butter sauce makes this dish a must order. Service here was perfect. Even with a full bar we were served really quickly. This is a fun place to enjoy some drinks and yummy tapas.

Yelp
This was my first time dinning with Ranazul in Columbia! It was also a first date !! I had previously been to their other location. The restaurant is nicely lit, clean and our server was awesome, Mister Redhead Questions were answered and the delicious food was delivered timely. We enjoyed the two items in the photos and I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Great local spot, in Hickory Ridge Village Center with thoughtful, aesthetic decor, an attentive bartender and wait staff. Great specials on drinks and small plates from 4-6 pm. Although they should vary their menu more often for those of us who are regulars on a weekly basis.

Yelp
We eat out several times a week for many years now , and now and then we get surprised. Here is a neighborhood restaurant that does a great job with food, service, and a pleasant white tablecloth experience. The lamb chops were terrific, perfectly done and a large portion. The small plates were not that small , all in all a very good value. We'll definitely be back , and put this on our regular places to eat list.

Yelp
I guess the cat is out the bag!! They're back after a year of being closed at the Maple Lawn location. I've been stalking them online for months! I saw last week on a Facebook group that they had a soft opening. Not sure when the grand opening is happening, but I'm just happy that they're open. For now, hours are limited. Monday through Friday, 5 - 8 p.m. Just about 10 minutes up the street from the former location. I actually like the smaller, more intimate vibe. I stopped by today with my favorite Yelper. We had a great time. It was good to see the regulars and meet some new faces! Still excellent drinks and food! The best service by Lia at the bar. Congrats to owner, Chad and bar manager extraordinaire, Jeremy, and all the amazing stuff at Ranazul! I'm so glad you guys are back!

Yelp
Super pleasant tapas experience - the food was fantastic, the servers were extremely friendly and well trained, and it was a bustling, vibrant scene on a Friday evening. Lots of great dishes to try, and with two shared plates and one tapa per guest on a party of five, we did not go away hungry (e.g. good value). Wines were very good - will happily return.

Yelp
Okay tapas. We visited Ranazul on a Saturday night, and it was about half full. The restaurant has simple modern furnishings emphasizing a clean black look. Normally, I would order a cocktail but none of the cocktails interested me, so I ordered a glass of malbec which was pretty bad. To eat, we split the scallops, the ceviche, the crab & tasso quesadilla, and the tilapia zaran. The scallops were perfectly cooked and paired with a thin sauce. They were placed on a bed of thin crispy onions, and some grated raw vegetables that weren't a particularly appealing eat. The ceviche was decent with a few too many onions for me. The crab & tasso quesadilla was served piping hot and was deliciously cheesy. The tilapia was okay but did not have the most appealing sauce and the cooked vegetables and potatoes underneath the fish were pretty bland. Overall, I don't think Ranazul has particularly good food, but there are worse options in the Columbia area.

Yelp
We ate there last night. I opted for option 2. The apple strawberry salad was outstanding as was the sopa azteca. My small plate was the crab orzo which was stellar. That small plate was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. My wife had the same soup which she also thought was excellent then the scallops which received the same vote. Last she had the crème brûlée which we shared . Again outstanding I would definitely go back

Yelp
I have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of Ranazul in their new location in Hickory Ridge shopping center. We went last week during their soft reopening and were extremely impressed. All of our favorites from the old Maplelawn location were back and they were outstanding. The entire staff was amazing and thrilled to be back. It felt a bit like a family reunion. They have limited hours and the cozy new space fills up pretty quick. We went midweek but if we go on the weekend we will definitely make a reservation.

Yelp
We love the new location, and the tapas just keep getting better! Some of our favorites are tilapia Zaran, espinaca Catalan, crab orzo, and frito mixto. The service continues to be excellent.

Yelp
Delicious food and always good service. We are so glad this restaurant is in our neighborhood. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Food is excellent and reliable. Service is also awesome. Very cozy, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere that is upscale and appropriate for date nights and special celebrations. I love this place!

Yelp
Good food and drinks, but limited hours. Wish it was open on Sunday. Fun for happy hour!

Yelp
Ehhh! The place isn't open at all times and my first experience with the food was just ok needed more love to my app. Had the crab & Tasso quesadilla and it was very lack luster ! Really was hoping for more and I did expect to see nice slices of Tasso ham! I got none of it and the quesadilla wasn't even toasted was like a cold soggy mess! I will try this place again and give hopefully a better review. Real Chefs trying real food!!
