"Rance’s Chicago Pizza was involved in a lawsuit against the University of Southern California and has recently closed. The restaurant alleged deceptive practices by USC, including the failure to allow the use of USCards as payment. The restaurant's final day of service was September 2, and the owner hopes the lawsuit will cover the losses from the USC location." - Farley Elliott

I absolutely give this place 5 stars for the food. Great quality, taste like fresh ingredients. The pizza doesn't disappoint. The pan pizza isn't too deep too where is so bready you can't even taste the toppings. I'm not familiar with Chicago pizza so having to eat with a fork and knife is a little a pretentious for me. And that's probably how they do it in Chicago. I'm a west coaster. However, on a Monday afternoon around 12pm and being second in line of being serviced, a 45 minute wait is a little ridiculous. There's gotta be a better cooking system than what they already have. The slices are a a better price point that a whole pizza, but individual slices doesn't make since if you're more than a party of one. But, extremely great tasting pizza.

Everything was great. I found Rances on IG so I decided to place an order to pick up on my way home from the airport. I don't have pictures of the maple bacon wings because they didn't make it home. Sitting in traffic I thought I'd eat just one, no. I was not prepared for the amount of awesome that they pack in those wings. I ate the entire container of wings before I ever got home. The Chicago style pizza was great and I really liked their cheesy bread sticks. Service was great, placed an order over the phone and it was hot and ready when we walked in the door. I will absolutely be returning for a larger order of maple bacon wings.

I was looking forward to this but really disappointed. Crust was good. Amount of cheese was good, but the sauce was not good. Chunky tomatoes. Which were fine, but watery and thin sauce with way too much garlic. That was all I tasted. Garlic. And there wasn't nearly enough sauce. Hollywood pies is much better but not perfect. Next on my list is Masa at Echo Park. I will not be coming back to Rances. Maybe the Long Beach location is better but the USC location is not worth the visit if you are expecting Chicago style deep dish.

For a long time I wanted to try Chicago's deep dish pizza. This place in USC village was one good of a try. The pizza was yummy with so much cheese. Buffalo wings was also too good! The only drawback of this place is it takes 45 mins to get your food once you order. The place also gets a little crowded with USC students since it's close to the campus!

Absolutely gorgeous. I love the area, I love the food and ambience. It's all amazing here. The pizza is easily the best pizza in La!! Here's a pic of the deep dish stuffed pizza.

The pizza at this Rances is so good, one of the best pizza is LA. Not a tomato sauce fan but I loved the sauce here. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

The best pizza I ever have. Stuffed and pan are both pretty good choices.

I ordered a pizza to go and the crust was delicious! I ordered the thin crust, Tavern style, and the person taking my order couldn't have been more nice and friendly. While we waited, he offered water a few times. And we realized why. The pizza does take awhile to bake. But the crust was so flaky and crispy, it was worth the wait. Next time, order ahead if you're picking up to go.
