Nice little charming restaurant that’s well worth the trip. I have a smothered steak that was very good! Baked potato was on point. Service is punctual without being over bearing. We ordered some deep fried mushrooms and they were delicious. I would certainly come back here and highly recommend you give it a try.

Dallas was an amazing waitress. Very helpful with all needs. I was there for my birthday. My sister arrived late to the party and she even held her salad in the fridge until she got there. Her and others attention to detail was great! All the food was delicious! No complaints from anyone about their food.

Had the most amazing service and food! Dallace is what service should be when dining out. She was attentive and helped provide a wonderful experience. The food tasted like it was made with love. Looking forward to the next time we are in town.

Wanted to find a place to take my dad out for his birthday, which wasn't too fancy, but had good food and a good selection. This place seem to fit the bill. We were seated right away, but it was midweek, so not sure what it might be like on busy nights. Our server, Ivy, came to our table right away to get our drink order. Later we had questions about the menu and she was a wealth of information, and obviously knew the menu well. Her service was awesome and very attentive. My dad ordered the Steak Sandwich. It was fairly large. And it was a real Steak not some chopped up meat. He ordered it plain but you can get various goodies added to it. He ordered the salad with it instead of the fries, so can't comment on the fries. He loved it! I ordered the Filet Mignon with the garlic mashed potatoes side and brandy cream sauce. I asked for it medium rare. It was cooked to perfection! Which is a huge deal for me. As many restaurants can't get that right. The Steak was super tender, as it should, and that sauce was amazing. I would order that again in a heartbeat! The potatoes were really good too. The veggies that were served with it were alright. I think they could have been seasoned a little better. I think they were steamed, which isn't my favorite way to cook veggies. But that aside, it was a great meal. For dessert, my dad got the carrot cake. He really liked it. Because it was a large slice, he only ate half and took the rest to go. I ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake. Which came with a few scoops of ice cream and whip cream. It was a lot, but so good. I ate it all. Ha ha Why only 4 stars if everything was so good? I have high standards for 5 stars. There was one element that was not ideal. We were sat at a booth, by my request. But the booth we were sat at was at the end of the row. Which meant the spacing between the table and the seat was extremely large. If I were a large person, I can see being seated there. But my dad and I are fairly normal sized people. As it was, I adjusted the table so it was a normal spacing for him. As a result, I had to sit at the edge of the bench and the table was still far away from me. Very awkward way to eat. I would have asked for a different table, but it's not easy for my dad to get up. Bottom line, I'd be happy to go back. I actually can't wait. There were a number of items on the menu I want to try.

The Ranch House still has some great qualities, especially thanks to Joy, the bartender—she’s absolutely fantastic and really makes the experience enjoyable with her friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere is still welcoming, but I have to admit, this place used to be so much better. It feels like some of the charm and quality have faded over time. That said, if you’re looking for a good drink and a friendly face behind the bar, Joy is the reason to come here.

The food is amazing. Everything is so fresh. The waitress was very good. Made sure my drink was full. If you are looking for a great place to take your wife out I highly recommend the Ranch house

We were there when they first opened, first timers. Were seated and served quickly. Should have asked more questions. Prime rib was way too big and cooked too much for me, paid 50$ for it it should have been cooked to perfection. Waitress did not check back for awhile as the restaurant was filling up, so I did not get a timely chance to let her know it was not good. Everything else was good.

Dallas our server basically ordered our food the way she wanted. We asked for our steak to be medium and it was more than well done. We asked for no sour cream on our side and it was like if we told her to put extra sour cream on. She also had her little attitude. This was our first time ever having a bad experience here. Other times we’ve had great experiences with food and services but not today.

An excellent steak house in the Yuba city area. It's a great place to celebrate dinners or anniversary's with friends and family. I was introduced to this place by my fiancee and her family. Altogether I've been here maybe 5 times. And each time I've come away impressed by the quality of food, the portions, and the taste. Servers here are friendly and always checking on the table. Bread and butter served while you wait. My favorites here are the chicken wings, fried chicken, and their ribeye steaks. The chicken fried chicken here comes with two huge pieces of friend chicken gravy and two sides. This is definitely for the ranchers. We recently went and a person at our table had an issue with their steak being a bit undercooked. No issue as the server came and corrected the problem with the kitchen. Also the indoor dining can be a bit dark in here but it makes for an intimate setting. If you're in the Yuba or Sutter area and in the mood for a nicer home cooked meal be sure to check out The Ranch House.

I wanted to L-O-V-E this restaurant. I have mixed feelings about it. The service was great, our waitress was on top of refills and things like that. I found it really crazy that other servers weren't running hot food out when it was put up in the window. It should come out right away and be hot. They'd stand there and if it wasn't their table they'd take off. Just run the food out!! The dinner salad was great, rolls were good too. My prime rib was about 1/2 fat. I don't understand why.Baked potato was small. The vegetables were way too overcooked (why even have them on the plate if they're going to be mushy)? My husband said his bleu cheese crusted steak was good. My daughter's prime rib oddly didn't have hardly any fat. Her boyfriend had the beef tips and said the sauce was bland. It was really, really loud in there. Service ***** Food **

Went there last night and it was the worst service we have had in decades. Idk if owners or management changed but I don't see this place lasting. The food was still good. Probably the only reason they are still open now.

This was pretty good! Great quality meat and food for the price. Vegetables were disappointing but everything else was very good! Service was good and timely. Ambiance was cute- older but nice, they do get a decent crowd.

Usually great food and great service. It's close too. Recommend going during the week for faster service, they're always packed on the weekends.

I came here with a party of 4 on a Saturday at 5:30, the wait wasn't long but there were plenty of seats in the bar so we decided to eat in there. The food, service and drinks were great! What a nice local spot, I'll definitely make the drive from Sacramento.

Besides the outstanding service (Thank you Dallas!), thick steaks at a perfect medium rare, the Trifle for dessert was beyond scrumptious.

We are there several months ago - great food, great service. The place is definitely not pretentious, but the fits was outstanding.

We sat in the bar area. It was quaint, dark, average chill bar. A member of my party had the lemon drop which they loved --however, the service wasn't too great. However, I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt because the two servers were also the bartenders, and it was busy. Food was good. I had the fried chicken which had a lovely gravy and delicious vegetables. Another member of my party had the Cowboy burger, and they said it was phenomenal. Overall, everything was spiced perfectly and cooked well. Good job guys!

Came here for my 23rd birthday dinner. It was my first time here and I loved it! Very nice atmosphere and servers were nice. I had a lemon drop martini which as delicious. I also ordered a steak which came with garlic mashed potatoes (which were AMAZING), and steamed veggies, which could use more seasoning but still good! I got a free birthday dessert as well. Definitely will be back :)

First up, coming into the restaurant feels like stepping into a bygone era. Low ceiling, dungy and dark. Nothing straight or installed within the last 50 years. But the service was good: cheery waitress, attentive and prompt. The food is adequate - not counting the broccoli: no idea what the cook did to them: I watched the waitress take plates from tables and all seem to have the untouched broccoli still on them, so the broccoli is considered decoration. My filet mignon was burnt on the outside and medium rare inside. The prices are hefty, like the would be in a decent steak restaurant. And finally a 3.5% credit card charge was added to the bill before I even considered paying with card. No problem, just make it a 11.5% tip ...

Made reservations and came with a large party of family members to celebrate the holidays tonight. We were seated right away. Immediately, we noticed the place was packed with people waiting for tables. Staff was friendly, detailed everything we wanted - often asking clarifying questions. The menu was large with lots of options for various types of meats and cuts. I ordered the filet mignon. Food came out relatively quick despite how busy of a night it was. All of our dishes were absolutely delicious and just how we ordered them! Prices were reasonable considering all of the above. Our kids were given placemats to draw in and crayons to color with to keep them entertained. Kids loved the food too!

Terrible and rude service from female bartender. She really needs customer service or a lesson in basic common courtesy. The bar itself, is very cute inside and the make bartender is extremely nice and makes good drinks. They better hang onto him!!

The food is delicious! I love the Calamari and Cowtips, but whatever you choose it will be great! We celebrated our 34th anniversary there recently and at the end of our dinner we received a tall chocolate sundae with whipped cream and a cherry on top!

Man the steak here is always on point. Easily shits on some of the higher end steakhouses I've been to. Steak here is that good. Well seasoned, but most importantly well cooked. Their medium rare is more on the rare side so I find that asking for medium works best for me. I get the ribeeyes Everytime. My lady usually gets the filet and they're good too! I wish sauteed veggies was option over steamed.

Came here with a friend on a whim, because I was craving a steak and saw they had good reviews and wanted to give them a try. This place is bomb - GO!! From the selection of cocktails to the fresh salad that came with the steaks we ordered, to the steaks & the sides - literally everything was lovely. We started with a well made cocktail for my friend & a shot of tequila with a side of club soda for me - plus the fried mushrooms (because we rarely see them on menus anymore); they were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside (served with ranch) they were great. The salad that I got was very fresh and crisp with a lovely house-made blue cheese dressing with blue crumbles and my friend's, broccoli and cheese soup of the day was creamy & "delicious". My friend got a message-rare ribeye, and I got a medium filet mignon - both cooked to perfection and served with delicious garlic mashed potatoes (hers had a loaded baked potato) and perfectly cooked vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans (steamed perfectly)! I was so happy we picked the ranch house for dinner - it was exactly what we were both looking for. The service was lovely as well - the ambience was relaxed (dark and rustic and casual). It was great. I felt like I was back in Jackson, Wyoming. Can't wait to go again!!!

We had a party of 11 on a Wednesday night starting 5pm in the bar and the bartender was AMAZING! She had a full bar pretty much the whole time we where there and managed to keep our drinks full , get our food out fast and stay on top of all of our request which kept her going . We had the best time and we will definitely be back to the bar to hopefully be greeted by her again . Our dinner was excellent from appetizers to our main course everyone was more than happy with each . I had the special the steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth . Thank you Ranch House staff , chefs and all for making our night extra special . I highly recommend them if you're wanting to have excellent service & food and a welcoming atmosphere!

I'm from YC and when I met my husband I brought him here and it was decided y'all have the best Rib Eye. We still 10years later compare every Rib Eye to the Ranch House. We've been all though Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Oklahoma We now live in Texas and came back last weekend and after 4 years of being in Texas and trying several Texas steaks you still KILLED it!!! Thank you for the best staff from Bartender to hostess and of course our server.. just amazing!!

We found this place on Yelp, and it lived up to the reviews. The ambiance was welcoming and cozy. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We had the clam chowder, beef stroganoff, and filet mignon- all were excellent (and the rolls were so yummy). It's always great to find a local place to enjoy when we travel- and The Ranch House was just that.

Been coming here for years. We live in Sacramento and stop here after taking the drive to get out of the house. But that ended last night. The food is ok for a steak house in the country but I will not tolerate my wife being addressed rudely. We were there after the open but the interior door wouldn't open yet we could hear others in the dining room. My wife went to ask the bartender about it and she said they would open the door when the dining staff was ready. So we waited a bit longer, my wife went back to the bar and the bartender was rude. No excuse for that and I won't drive up here to pay these guys $100 to be treated poorly. I know I should have walked out right then and gone somewhere else, my mistake but I won't make that mistake again. And to make things even worse they were having problems with their point of sale and couldn't process our card. Eventually they fixed it but it was a fitting end to our last visit to this restaurant.

Not sure why this place has 4 stars. It took them 55 minutes just to bring my food out wrong. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwhich, came as a grilled chicken sandwich and the waiter was like did you ask for it to be crispy and breaded? Last time I checked your waitress is supposed to ask me how I want it and not just put grilled. On top of that I had to ask for my food to get it. After 55 minutes, I asked for it and they immediately brought it out. On top of that it took them 25 minutes to bring out a house salad. And it gets better, they are rude about it too. Lol no apology for the my food taking 55 minutes or anything or how bout the argument about how I had to ask for it to be crispy rather than the waitress asking how I want it. Lastly the steak I ordered wasn't medium either it was medium rare but I just paid for it and left.

Excellent food. I had the Cajun penne pasta, and it was well-seasoned. The noise from the bar cannot be heard from the dining area, and they have seating to accommodate large parties in a long room (our group had at least 20 people). The bar area looks fun and lively, from glancing in as I walked by. The waitstaff are friendly, but the time from ordering to entrees coming out of the kitchen may vary depending on how busy they are. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience.

Absolutely the best steak in town, good God, I don't think I've had better anywhere else. Their service was very good, the wait wasn't bad either, will definitely visit here more often!!

Nice local steak house! I've been going since moving to Yuba City 20 years. It's been around for many years prior too. It is a staple - a landmark restaurant. Food is very good quality albeit a bit costly but worth it. The interior is very comfortably worn in.

Food n service especially for a Friday night was great...large portion size that's well worth it...

Everything on their menu is Delicious!!! The acoustics when busy with a full house is extremely loud, which is very difficult to handle if you have hearing issues in the main dining area. We prefer to eat in the bar area. One of our favorite place to have top quality fare.

I've wanted to try this place for the longest time so me and my wife finally went. The customer service was good but unfortunately that was it. My wife ordered a bistro steak and I ordered a bacon mushroom Swiss burger. Our food came out and my wife instantly said she was smelling a fishy smell. We both tried her steak and it was sour and tasted terrible. My burger had no flavor literally tasted like plain unseasoned ground beef unfortunately we had high hopes for this place but we definitely won't be returning.

Great menu BUT we ate the there last Friday night. Your cooks do not use seasoning AtALL. The vegetables were BLAND. I ordered calamari it was supposed to have a lemon sauce or something I thought..... it was PLAIN. Just a piece of deep fried calamari. Yuk! The steak had no seasoning at all . Your cooks need to use seasoning!!! I would go more often if your food had more flavor for the price! Your specials are great

Ivy was great! Probably the best ribeye I've ever had. I'm newly disabled and learning how to talk and walk again after being in a coma. Ivy didn't skip a beat. She treated me like every other customer and was patient while listening and let me order at my pace. Will definitely be back! Thank you ivy, even though you probably didn't know it, you made my day!

Our go to date night spot as well as our go to restaurant when visiting with family or friends. They lost one star because we are frequenters and have always had an amazing experience. We went in around Christmas time wait was over an hour for food, Everything came out cold and the manager was very rude about it and she ended comping our meals but made me feel like I was apologizing to her that we had a terrible experience. We haven't been back since but as still willing to give it a try as I was also trying to be mindful it was the holidays and they were busy! The wedge is my favorite thing on their menu and the chicken fried chicken.

I took my wife to The Ranch House on Valentine's Day. I hadn't eaten there for about 30 or so years and my memory of it was that it was a good restaurant with good steaks. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, and I ordered the 16 ounce Ribeye. Both of us ordered it medium rare. When the orders came, my wife's steak was luke warm and mine the same. I was surprised it was so thin, and it was tough. When the waitress came and asked how it was, I remarked that it was tough. The vegetables and potato was fine and the vegetables were brocoli and couliflower was in good size chunks. She took it back and said she would have the cook redo it. When she brought it back, the meat tasted worse than before, was very thin, and seemingly half fat. She brought back the plate with the same partially eaten potato (which was OK), but the vegetables had been replaced with these fine little pieces that seemed like the dregs from the bottom of a pan. I did not eat the vegetable as they were unappetizing. As for the steak, I ate a bit, then gave up. I took the major portion of the meat home. That was the first time in my memory that I didn't eat the steak while at the restaurant. The waitresses were friendly, but based on the sad state of the steak and then the vegetables that I couldn't believe they would serve, I have no expectation of ever returning. I guess I could chalk it off to it being Valentine's Day and with the volume of entrees served of the ribeye, that they simply were running out of decent steaks to cook.

Service was great and food was good. The staff was so helpful. We had a party of 18+ and they served and brought everything hot and all at the same time or very close to it.

Went to the ranch house and it's very old inside and out. It's very open, which makes it very noisy inside The food was a little better than ok. Sadly we were seated right a way, but The appetizers showed up in about 55 minutes. And then we sat for the second hour to receive the main dishes. The first basket of buns were almost target skeets! The second one was very good (hour later). The food was good but the service wasn't as good at all. The price was today. Most people don't have that kinda of money.

Found this place by accident because our reservation at another restaurant was missed. Great place, great food and polite wait staff. Place was very busy (which is obviously a good sign) so it was a little loud at that moment but well worth it! We'll be back and will definitely recommend to friends

Food is consistently very good. Servers are very attentive and the drinks in the bar are great! It can be loud so it's not a great place for conversation.

I've lived in YC since high school and since being back from the military, so 10+ yrs. I've been here dozen times for dinner and private party's. I'm a decent cook, specially a steak & potatoes but never been impressed. We've been forgotten about multiple times dining in for dinners, I have tried ribeyes, ends, chicken and many sides and it's as mediocre as it gets every time. I've tried to love this place being by our old ranch but for the price it's C+ @ best, prices are high for the quality in my opinion. Service was always decent besides the couple times waiting 30+ minutes for drinks, food, check, specially for 2-3 people.

Got the beef stroganoff and the porterhouse the cook o n the Porterhouse was perfect but the quality of the meat was tough and chewy same with the stroganoff. It used to be my go to for a good steak. Unfortunately not any more. It gets 2 stars because the service is second to none. Unfortunately food quality kills thus place
