Dutch Bros Sales Jumped 52 Percent in 2021 | Eater Portland

"I learned that Ranch Pizza, known for its cheesy square pizzas similar to Sicilian or Detroit style, will expand to the western suburbs with a fifth location at 4815 SW Lombard Ave. in Beaverton and will include a coffee shop called Loro in the same building; the Portland-based chain currently runs pizzerias in Northwest Portland and Woodlawn, a spot inside Southeast Portland’s Baerlic Brewing, and a location at Happy Valley’s Valley Public House, though it’s unclear exactly when the new pizzeria will open in 2022." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
First time here, and our first ever Detroit style pizza. Looking at photos of these pies you might think they're a bit heavy, but they're anything but. The focaccia crust is super-fluffy, and the toppings are also lightly balanced while also being very flavorful. The sausage is excellent, highly recommended. Service was fast & pizzas were very well presented. Ranch dressing is amazing, and I'm not a ranch dressing person. We brought it home, because I can't imagine putting it on pizza, especially carefully prepared pizza like this. Some good local beers/ciders on tap, and great music. The industrial atmosphere was perfect for this type of meal. Overall a fun and delicious alternative to New York or other traditional styles.

Typical ranch pizza like other locations. Their radicchio salad was good. This seems like a neat location away from downtown and easy parking. Staff were friendly. Modern ambiance. I just hope Ranch pizza adds more vegetarian or even vegan pizza options for Portlanders!

Google
Square pizza, oven-baked to perfection. Not busy before 4pm, remember the coffee shop closes at 230, so plan accordingly. Red lettuce house salad with house dressing is the perfect compliment to pizza. Plain pepperoni, Yes it tastes as good as it looks... I'll be back and you should stop in too. Share your experience and rating, I say 9/10... Just because I was in the mood for an afternoon cup of coffee. ☕

Google
I love Ranch pizza, but if I order a ham and pineapple pizza, I want full-sized chunks of pineapple — big cube pieces that burst with sweet goodness after a bite. For some reason the pizza only comes with slivers of paper thin pineapple. It appears as a garnish rather than an ingredient :(

Google
This is a really good spot if you want something fun and quirky and different and your local Beaverton neighborhood! My favorite part about this establishment was honestly how roomie it was. Usually, if you go to locally owned coffee, shops or restaurants it’s a little tight, but I really liked the atmosphere- Pizza is great and service was great of course too.

Google
Shredded basil and really good pepperoni, enough to go feral on the pizza. Great ranch dressing as well.

Google
Happy to see this location in Beaverton. Definitely much needed! Pizza was fantastic so was the vegan pepperoni. Unfortunately, due to computers being down took about 30-45 for our pizza but it was piping hot. The crust was great but seemed a tad bit on the burnt side. Still tasted pretty good! The interior looks amazing and there’s decent seating area. That also managed to avoid meat cross contamination for us. Prices are definitely on the higher side for the Beaverton area.

Google
Amazing food, the pics don't do it justice. Soft crust with good flavor, tangy flavorful sauce, good cheese, and fun toppings. I was surprised how much I liked their ranch and how complimentary it was to the pizza. My new favorite pizza spot!

Yelp
So good! I love the focaccia crust. And the taste / ingredients are just superb. I usually get the veggie. I have eaten at this location probably a half dozen times. So glad Ranch Pizza expanded into Beaverton!

Yelp
After trying Ranch Pizza a couple years ago, I've been thinking about planning my next trip back to Oregon just to have their pizza again. It's that good! Luckily, they have multiple locations and my cousin lives near the Beaverton location. This was my last stop before heading back to the airport. Yes, I bought a whole box of pizza on the flight with me. They don't call me Lisa pizza for no reason!! I love my pizza. I placed an order online, and pick up was super quick! Staff were friendly and helpful. The interior is so spacious with the high ceilings. I got the "honey i shrunk the pickle whole pie. I couldn't wait to take a bite of the pizza on my car ride home. I'm definitely a team pickles on pizza girl!! All the ingredients worked so well together. The pizza had a nice spongey soft consistency. Gotta dip your pizza with their ranch! So yummy.

Yelp
Delicious but super filling pizza. The unique crust makes this pizza amazing. It's greasy without being too much and practically melts in your mouth. Service is solid and as expected and the restaurant is pretty typical.
google avatar

Tia B.

Yelp
I'm usually not a fan of pizza if it's not in the traditional style but this one blew my socks off. It's so delicious and their ranch and hot honey are to die for. The lighting is cool and people are nice.

Yelp
Quiet on a Friday evening. It got busier as the night went on. Pizza was tasty and even more so paired with the ranch.

Yelp
Holy moly! This is what pizza should taste like. Beautiful, crispy edges loaded with toppings that are perfectly cooked. We have only done takeout, but the staff are kind upon pickup. Don't miss out on their special ranch. I'm not even a ranch person and I love it!
google avatar

Yelp
Called in a pick-up order and the pizza was ready right on time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and helped immediately--super smooth experience from start to finish. Detroit-style, square-shaped pizza is one of my favorites, and this one did not disappoint. I ordered the #4, and the topping combo is truly unmatched--every bite was packed with flavor. The real star, though, is those crispy, cheesy edges. Absolutely perfect. My spouse and I split a whole pie and still had leftovers for both of us. Can't beat that kind of quality and portion for the price. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Saturday dinner and trying a new spot we entered Ranch Pizza amd were greeted right away. The smell of pizza baking was filling the restaurant and we were excited. We placed a carey out order of whole pepperoni and side ranch. We waited on the bench by the door and saw thay there were table sets up in the front and more off to the side. They have gelato too which sounded good and we want to come back for. Another employee thought we weren't helped and asked if we needed anything again too. Pizza came out quickly and once we got home, we liked that it didn't seem as oily and loved the little pepperoni covering each piece. The bottom was crisp and the ranch dressing was really really good! I believe one dressing already comes with a pizza as we ordered another one too. The pizza pieces are filling and the dough on the inside is soft and chewy. We made another stop so the pizza wasn't as hot (our fault) and so we definitely want to try Rach Pizza again directly at the restaurant for ultimate freshness!

Yelp
Ambiance: 7/10 cool setting, lots of natural light, super high ceilings Service: ?/10 I got my food to go Food: 7/10 Crust: 7/10 like any Detroit style, the crispy crust on the outside was spot on but soft on the inside. Wish the bottom the crust toward the center of the pizza was a little more cooked. Not raw but floppy. Sauce 6/10 while I liked the sauce, I think it was a little too salty when you get ingredients that already have that salt with them (ie pepperoni, sausage). Toppings: 8/10 roasted garlic was really well done. Cooked well enough that the flavor wasn't overpowering. The roasted jalepenos were creative and cooked well. I enjoyed the heat and flavor. French onion: 4/10 this was a miss for me because of the red sauce. I would much prefer a cream sauce in this situation because the tomatoes clashed with the other ingredients for what they were trying to do. Need to go back to the drawing board bc this is a great idea.

Yelp
Tried out Ranch pizza while in town last month. Wanted to find an awesome slice of pizza and they sure did deliver. Small menu but they know their craft and make exceptional pizza. We tried the pepperoni (one with added ricotta) and the veggie quarters. All perfect and more than enough per person. They also offer salad, breadsticks, beer, wine and soft drinks. Easy parking and they have a few different locations. Plenty of seating at the Beaverton location and they also had a small coffee shop sharing the same space. A must try if you're looking for amazing pizza in Portland!
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza here is sooooo delicious and filling! I love how fresh all of the ingredients are here. The ranch is fantastic and the raddichio salad is something to write home about. I always doordash this with company credit and it turns out amazing as always

Yelp
Portland is spoiled for choice when it comes to pizza, but I'm excited to report that Ranch Pizza stands out from the crowd by serving up the distinct Detroit Style pizza. Far from the thick, greasy garbage Pizza Hut calls pan pizza, this Detroit style crust is thicker than regular NY still pizza and is fluffy, chewy, and tastes totally fresh. The various pizza creations and choice of toppings are top notch. From actually spicy jalapeños to vegan pepperoni whose texture and taste are perfect, there's something for everyone. Had I eaten the pizza in shop rather than taken it home, I might have been more impressed. If the cheese isn't totally ooey gooey it's not perfect in my book, and there was a slight lack in bold flavoring that would have taken this pizza to the top. Next time I'll dine in. In the bright lit, high ceilinged, and immensely spacious parlor, you'll be comfortable kicking it and enjoying your pizza. The servers are super kind and bust out the pizza in no time at all. Given it's called ranch pizza, I was pleased to find that they do not hold back with the sauce. Nothing makes me more upset than a dry pie, but there will be plenty of sauce in Ranch Pizza and even more on the side. Happy to say that this is my new go to pizza spot in Beaverton!

Yelp
We decided to grab some slices after stopping next door to grab a coffee. The pizza is really good, so flavorful.

Yelp
Today we finally got our hands on Ranch Pizza! I'm usually not a big fan of Detroit-style pizza but my wife is so I decided to give it a try... and to be honest, this place did not disappoint! We got our food to-go so I can't really speak about the ambiance except that the restaurant is relatively big so I wouldn't worry about not getting seats. The place looked clean and well kept, too. The customer service, although a quick interaction, was great; they bagged our food in separate bags (one bag for warm food, and one bag for cold food). This is so considerate because most restaurants wouldn't even care. So when we got home, our pizza and breadsticks were nice and warm, and our salad and sodas were nice and cold. Perfection. We each got Quarter Pies which, I guess, is a Detroit-style equivalent to a single slice of a traditional New York-style pizza. That said, the Quarter Pie portion is still a good size. It certainly had me satiated! Also, quick tip, a small side of Ranch is $1.00 each. My food recs are as followed: * Quarter Pie (Me): Pepperoni and Mushroom. This was a grand slam! * Quarter Pie (My Wife): Pepperoni and Calabrian Chilies. She loved it! * Radicchio Caesar Salad: I was a little worried about this one but this was actually quite delicious! Even though I recommend it, it's something I wouldn't get again because, well, I guess, I just prefer good o' fashion Romaine. Would we ever come back? Well, they serve Coca-Cola products, so heck yes, we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Sorry Ranch I grew up in Detroit on Shields and their competitor. Your crust is ok but not $32 ok and I make better Focaccia dough. I give it a 6.75 out of 10. Being generous movin On. Good for a home cook keep trying!
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
The food was incredibly good. The staff were very friendly. Was amazed by the upscale decor in the restaurant, it had a retro feel to it.
google avatar

Kadin H.

Yelp
Love how clean and quiet this location usually is. It's awesome they'll let you do a half and half pizza too! And yes, their ranch is certainly worth their namesake.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Ranch definitely lived up to the hype for me! Each flavor we tried was so amazing--and the pizza is massive. I will say the vibe in there is a little stale but sitting on the patio on a sunny day was great. We will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Anya S.

Yelp
For a place called "Ranch" their house ranch, which comes with every order, delivers! It's creamy, tangy, and seasoned. The Sicilian style slices are a perfect medium between thick and thin pizza. As someone who doesn't typically eat pizza crust, I'll devour the crust here. The toppings are piled to the edges. I liked the convenience of ordering at the counter and the food being brought to you. A plus was whoever had AUX put on a fire playlist which made dining in even more enjoyable. Ranch was a great choice for us to fuel up before an evening out in downtown Beaverton.
google avatar

Megan Y.

Yelp
Ranch Pizza has great pizza, but it's a treat yourself type of pizza meal given how expensive it is. For two whole pizzas and a house salad I paid about $80. My favorites are the pepperoni and the #4. The pepperonis are small and crispy and cover the whole pizza. The #4 has a huge dollop of ricotta cheese on each slice (amazing!) as well as sausage and some chilies to add little kick. I also love their house salad! They use radicchio, which makes the salad so much better than your average salad in my opinion. Will I be back? Obviously. Will I come to Ranch every time I'm craving pizza? My wallet says no.
google avatar

g y.

Yelp
My favorite place just went to the bottom (despite the top rating of the Oregonian!). See the picture attached for the pepperoni pizza. It used to be covered with pepperoni and one could hardly find any open space. Now, it is no better than a frozen pizza from the market. Same goes for the #4 and the vegetarian! Have to start looking for another option. Don't know if this a franchise-wide issue or just the Beaverton location.
google avatar

Soni B.

Yelp
This place just opened under the Verso apartment building. It shares a space with Loro Coffee. We took the pizza to go and they were very quick to bring it out. We ordered the #4 and it was very flavorful. It is a deep dish style so it was a thick crust. It had ricotta, herbs, sausage and some spicy peppers on top! Overall great experience!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
It's so nice to see another Sicilian pizza restaurant in town. This one was well done, but not as good as the best I've had. The veggie quarter that my wife and I shared had very fresh vegetables, barely cooked, and the taste was flavorful, a bit spicy from the peppers, and crisp. We also got a Caesar salad, but heads up that it's 100% radicchio, so it's a very different experience than what a Caesar salad usually is. Service was friendly and fast.
google avatar

Naly S.

Yelp
Really yummy! I got the quartered Hawaiian pizza. It came with a side of dipping ranch/ranch to drizzle ! It was my first time at a Ranch PDX establishment but I've been itching to go. We walked in around 1 in the afternoon and there was no wait time and the staff were picking up around the place keeping busy. We were immediately greeted and the individual even let us know "there isn't a wait since there aren't many people in today, but please go ahead and take a number anyways." Just as a routine, which I appreciated! The individual even gave a rundown of the special pizza to my partner. The pizza came out in about 5 minutes or so, piping hot! They have utensils available for sharing and cutting your very large pizza up. It was relatively quiet but as we were leaving more folks came in and it got busier but still a great lunch spot. The parking is mainly street parking but when we came there seemed to be ample amounts of parking.
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Yummy and inventive deep dish square pizza, Detroit style. The huge pizzas serve 3-4 comfortably or buy your own quarter slice. It's a bit on the spendy side for a medium pizza, but the crust is thick and fills you up. The house made ranch is served with the pizza and is amazing! The crispy corners are delicious. The pepperoni was the teeny ones that crisp up nicely. This pizza was cut into 9 pieces. The other pizza was cut into 8 slices. The house salad is drenched with Italian dressing and is a bit weird all radicchio leaves but was still tasty with cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. I wish their tables weren't bolted to the floor, made it hard to fit the larger sized guests and you couldn't put tables together. Counter ordering, self-serve water and utensils and bussing your own table... the norm now with most businesses... I don't know why they still want you to tip 20% for zero service, though.
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza we've had. Love the sicilian style and airy crust. And of course the ranch is amazing, had to get a pint to take home.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Food: I think the deep dish is fine if that's what you're going for but we ordered Hawaiian and did not expect all the toppings on it - wasn't a fan of the jalapeño because of heart burn issues so I was annoyed but whatever. Service: we got our pizza in a reasonable time but we had the worst customer service from the woman at the counter. Never said hello and we were nice. She was very cold and not friendly at all. Ambiance: it's a loud echo place and they were blasting explicit rap when we were there so I'm not bringing my niece. If I feel a whim to try this again I will do take out and pay closer attention to what I order.
google avatar

Darren O.

Yelp
Had a yelp alert that they had opened, decided to run by and see. Yes they were! The lady at the counter said it was a soft opening. We ordered a half pepperoni and half Hawaiian, and a house salad. If you haven't been to the pdx locations, this is Detroit style pizza with a couple sides of ranch dressing to dip in. The pizza was phenomenal. I preferred the pepperoni- just because it tasted better to dip. The Hawaiian is unique and has a little heat as they add shaved jalapeños on it. (Not a lot, but they are noticeable. ) My wife loved the Hawaiian. The one thing different here from most of the Detroit Pizza places I've been, is they take the pizza out of the pan, slice it, and put it on a pizza pan. I prefer this actually, my wife prefers it in the pan. The Radicchio house salad was unique. I really wanted a ceaser, but my wife wanted something different, so this salad has a vinaigrette. We both liked it- we thought maybe a few more Cucumber and tomatoes would be a little better. No complaints though. Overall- great food, friendly staff. They were helpful all night, and the food came out quickly! Good job!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Not gonna lie being from the east coast it's New York style mainly with me. But this Detroit style pizza was pretty tasty we ordered the Hawaiian and #4 bvr at $32 a pizza it ain't cheap but man these slices are filling and pretty tasty.
google avatar

Raeann P.

Yelp
We came to the ol' Ranch pizza on a Monday night for the sole reason that Ranch is my friends ABSOLUTE favorite pizza. This is a big build up. And Ranch came THRU! This pizza is different than your typical - it comes in fun squares on delicious Focaccia crust. The flavor combos are tasty, and the vibe inside is very nice. I would definitely recommend a trip to the ol' ranch to give this spot a try!
google avatar

Miki M.

Yelp
Ranch Pizza has always been on my radar. I didn't expect them to open a spot in Beaverton, so I was excited to finally try it! They have a shared space with Loro coffee shop and it's a very open area with lots of seating. We got the quarter pies of the Pepperoni, Veggie, #4, and Hawaiian. We also ordered the Radicchio Caesar Salad. Each quarter pie is huge, even when cut in half. My favorites were the Veggie and #4, the Veggie had lots of olive flavor and the #4 was perfectly spiced with the Calabrian chilies. Their ranch was something else. I love the tang and creaminess of it, it's definitely a must try here! The Radicchio salad is delicious too! The best kind of Caesar salad dressing is one that has garlic and anchovies in it since they give such umami and depth of flavor. It's a great balance between the bitter radicchio and creamy dressing. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jojo A.

Yelp
Live near this place. Inside is huge, partnered with a cafe that closes early. A lot of seating, views of the oncoming traffic. Pizza was good, huge and fresh out the oven. I love their crust. 1 slice is almost as big as the plate they serve you. It's a bit pricey but not that bad to stay away from. I went when it was busy so service was fast.
google avatar

Yelp
We really like ranch pizza so we're excited to know there was a Beaverton location now. The space has really high ceilings moderate parking on the street and lotta eating space inside. The dining space is slightly awkward, where it's very large and mostly along the perimeter of the space and the music is pretty quiet. It's almost like eating in a large dining hall. The workers were nice but also looked a bit stressed maybe since they're newly open and working on their flow? We got our pizza togo and it was ready 5:30 on the dot. Literally was being out on the shelf at 5:30. The Hawaiian and #4 were delicious and the crust holds the whole pizza so well. The ranch really is the highlight for me as it's thick and creamy and adds a savory flavor on the pallet. I will say from my experience at the other locations, the ranch containers at this location are a lot smaller. I haven't been to the other locations in a few months so it's possible they all transitioned? For a whole pie, the two small 2oz containers were definitely not enough. We needed at least 1 more. Overall, glad there's one here now and will most likely be coming here a lot.
google avatar

Eddie M.

Yelp
Amazing Sicilian style pizza. Awesome ranch sauce as well. Will definitely come back to this one. Arrive was quick and on time. Pizza was piping hot on pickup. Highly recommend!!!
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
We are so stoked Ranch made it to the westside! Now when we crave for Ranch pizza we can just drive a short 12 mins to get our cravings fixed. So crispy, spicy, and the pizza just hits with every ranch dip. I don't want it any other way! We are in once and it's a style of ordering at table. Take your number. The pizza gets brought to you. Bus your own table. Pretty open and beautiful space of you want to eat in.
google avatar

Shane W.

Yelp
We liked the slices here, but we were expecting something a little better. The ingredients were good to great, but we thought the slices needed a longer cook. They were above room temperature but not very hot, and the base wasn't crispy at all. It was also not as airy as we had hoped; it was a little more on the dense side.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Very friendly, tasty pizza at a reasonable price-- clean and new. The dill pickle on pizza (special) was surprisingly delicious.
google avatar

Dahlia C.

Yelp
This was amazing! I didn't know about this place until my sons told me about it after they came here with their friends awhile back. I love the crispy edges and texture of the crust especially the crispy cheese. We ordered whole pies of the #4 and the Hawaiian to share between a family of four. It was more than enough! If you like dipping your pizza in ranch you will definitely enjoy this because it is a must, but not necessary if you're not into that. The bits of crispy bacon, which looked more like pork belly, on the Hawaiian pizza made it so indulgent, but can be a little greasy. If not dining with a group, they have the option to order half and quarter sizes as well.
google avatar

Kris M.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious and the little coffee shop next to it has delicious pastries.
google avatar

BK S.

Yelp
I love that I can get a quarter pizza that is just the right size. The deep thick crust with cheesy edges is so satisfying. Plenty of toppings and light on the sauce. Maybe could have had more cheese. Otherwise sprinkles good and good ranch sauce. I'LL BE BACK !
google avatar

Chelle L.

Yelp
Where to begin... I first discovered this place through their North Portland location during our hospital stay at Good Sam's after giving birth to our baby boy. During that time, I knew my husband was a keeper because, for each meal, he would venture out into the icy, cold streets of North Portland in mid-January to find us food. Ranch Pizza was one of those meals that just hit differently. I crave that thick, crispy, crunchity crust. But seriously, all jokes and backstory aside, my go-to order is the #4 with chiles on the side, and I add mixed olives and bacon lardons. Woof! Chef's kiss! Next time, I'm definitely getting extra ricotta because at this point, no one can stop me!
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
We used to drive across town to get our RanchPDX pizza fix, so we are thrilled that there is now a location in Beaverton! Best part about this location? You don't have to take your pizza to go, and can eat it fresh and piping hot while sipping on a beer or cider from their many taps. My favorite is the #4 with ricotta, sausage and chili flakes. Dagnabbit, now I want one! :P
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
We were excited to learn that there was a Ranch Pizza in Beaverton! Love all of the businesses moving to the 'burbs and I'm thrilled to be able to not only eat their delicious food more often, but also to support them. We ordered take-out on a Friday night and it was ready in about 20-25 minutes. I love how customizable all of their pizzas are, you can select different sizes and different toppings for each portion of the pizza and it works really well with their square pizzas. We got a half pepperoni and half #4. We liked the pepperoni, it was a little bit spicy and small, so it gets a little well done, which I love. I think my personal favorite was the #4 which had aged mozarella, red sauce, sausage, ricotta, calabrian chilies, pecorino romano, and basil. We decided to leave the calabrian chilies off, but I could see how a tiny bit of spice would be nice here. I really loved the big dollops of ricotta, it was creamy and delicious. Everything on the pizza worked so well together and was very high quality. I love that it's not super thick, but still substantial and has that lovely crispy edge! We also tried the Radicchio Caesar Salad which was good, but radicchio is not my green of choice for a Caesar, I think it would be nice as a mix though. Their dressing was good, a bit pungent, but I love that in a Caesar dressing. Their ranch is also delicious (hello, it's in the name). It's creamy, has a little garlic bite, and lots of herbs. It's really delicious on the pizza. So happy to have Ranch in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. My husband and I are big fans of the pizza and size and flavor with their ranch! Great experiences always!
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
One of my go-to places for pizza has finally opened on the west side. It's located in a residential complex with a coffee shop. You can call in the other and pick up the pizza within 20 minutes. The pizza here is consistent with their other locations. The pepperoni and Hawaiian are a must try! (It tastes even better with their ranch sauce)
google avatar

Haeun J.

Yelp
A solid pizza spot that recently opened in Beaverton. We opted for the Jo. 4 and the Hawaiian, which were all very good. Definitely use the ranch as a dipping sauce - it's their namesake after all! I enjoyed the little bites of ricotta on the No. 4 as it added a nice bit of creaminess in the slightly spicy pizza. Their Hawaiian is also slightly different from the traditional as they put jalapeños and red onions! I really enjoyed everything overall, but it wasn't anything that blew my mind away. It's a nice spot to come to if I'm around the area and craving pizza.
google avatar

Zelda H.

Yelp
Focaccia with creative toppings. I love the Hawaiian with jalapeños. Reasonably priced.

Eric H.

Yelp
I ordered 1 pint of ranch dressing, because they make such a good ranch, and the motherfuckers not only didn't send me the $10+ pint I ordered, but they also refused to correct the mistake, and threatened to call the cops on me for "harassment." Give me my fucking money back, motherfucker.
