The Best Restaurants in Bend, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Rancher Butcher Chef is a modern take on a butcher shop and restaurant, next to the Grove in Northwest Crossing. Led by an accomplished team of Portland restauranteurs including Garret Peck of the Vitaly Paley empire, the cattle comes from partner Will von Schlegell’s ranches in Klamath Falls. Dry aging adds deep flavor to the cuts that vary nightly (including an 80 oz Txuleton) depending on what has been recently butchered. RBC is upping the ante on restaurants in Bend with classic dishes like potatoes bravas and European-style steak tartare, where the capers and mustard are mixed in and served with Sparrow Bakery grilled miche toast. The imported Spanish octopus a la plancha is so tender and moist that it doesn’t need more than a dollop of aioli. There’s also more casual fare. RBC serves one of the best burgers in town (ask for the secret burger of the day). For those who come in at the last minute, there are nine first-come, first-serve seats at the bar, and outdoor seating in the summer. Otherwise, be sure to make a reservation for a table or at the chef’s counter." - Barb Gonzalez

Stop! Before you say there’s not good restaurants in Bend, go here!! THIS place is a gem! A lot of high end restaurants in town seem to almost copy each others menus. Not here. Clay, our server, navigated us through the menu with knowledgeable insight on both food and drink. We took all of his suggestions and they didn’t disappoint. We had the Babette medium rare, along with the Radicchio (best radicchio salad I’ve ever had) & Endive (incredible) salads, potato w: spicy marinara with some yum topping. The horseradish sauce was my favorite out of the 3 we ordered. The chefs left the punch of the horseradish, which often gets too toned down. The cab and Teroldego wines complemented everything. Cocktails were made with care! Butterscotch dessert was sublime. Best birthday dinner ever! What a surprise! Service and food was all phenomenal! Great music selection! Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan. All of it…Thank you! We’ll be back.

I don't give out 5 stars a lot, but RBC deserved it. Food was easily 4+, cocktails 4+, at atmosphere (we sat ouy on the patio on a wonderful evening, also 4+. The way the staff took care of us was the bonus to get to the 5-star. Their attention to us, knowledge of the food and drink pairings and their down right friendliness. Highly recommend, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Google
First time to Rancher Butcher Chef, and was not disappointed. The food was amazing, the creamed cabbage was delicious 😋 Everything we tried was great. Can't wait to go back. I only wish they had more wine glass options, they had plenty of bottles, but lacked on glass options. Update: I took a group on Friday night for a birthday and I have never been treated so well at a restaurant! The staff is absolutely amazing here and the experience as a whole was absolutely delightful!! I cannot thank you all enough for making this recent experience an amazing one! 👏🏼

Google
Very Nice! We took some friends out for a celebration and we're not disappointed. The Grass fed rib eye steak was tasty. The lobster was really good! All the sides, especially the Brussel sprouts; were very good. The bone marrow followed by a whiskey shot was interesting. Thank you!

Google
Delicious meal, impeccable service and friendly staff, great vibes! If you were a fan of the Tasty & Sons and Toto Bravo restaurants in Portland, this is the same team. Favorite meal in Bend in a while.

Google
Great place for a special dinner. The flavors from the kitchen were original and incredible. The meats were beautifully flavored and prepared, but the sides including the hush puppies (usually not a fan), potatoes bravas (just like the chef owner’s old Tasty n Alder), and polenta with short ribs were incredible. Looking forward to returning here at regular intervals/special occasions. Everyone was incredibly welcoming of a family with a young infant. Total props to the entire staff for accommodating a tired kiddo and in particular Geoff and Derrick! <3

Me and my wife have been planning on making a visit for about the last four months finally she made reservations for 4:45 That’s when we arrived. we were seated right away. The only problem was my wife requested a more private table, and we were seated in the middle of the restaurant right away. We requested a table that was a little bit more quieter. The kid hesitated to respond and right away we know OK this is not gonna be good at about five minutes later young lady came over and said would you guys like the table over there and we promptly got up and moved, that was a relief. Our waiter was very very good. We got our food on time ordered our drinks. Very very good margaritas the salmon was good. My wife’s steak was excellent. One problem with the baked potato. there were just three small potatoes you know those little potatoes you buy in the store that’s what they were but they were very good. The date wraps were good. The hush puppies have to try them The only problem was the atmosphere. It’s a cross between a pub and a higher-end restaurant. taking all of that into consideration, yes we will return our experience was very good.

Google
We came here for our anniversary and had an excellent experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all great. We were informed that the meals were family style and the waitress recommended sharing dishes, which we agreed with and didn't regret. We started with a cocktail (my wife ordered the ghost rider and I the rawhide), then we shared the warm olives and bone marrow. For the main course, we got the marbled rib eye, the endive beet salad, baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts. We topped everything off with a huckleberry shake for dessert. Very stuffed but happy by the end.

Yelp
Probably the best spot in all of Bend. Well worth the $$$. Food, vibes, service...it's always top notch.

Yelp
While a bit on the spendy side, well worth it!!! I have been back since I wrote this original review and brought family with me. This is by far one of the best steaks (and sides) I have had. I have dined at steak places all over the world and this is place tops! Had the SRF Ribeye (Grass Fed) with some great sides. Plenty of great cocktails and wines to go with! I will be back for sure.

Yelp
One day of the best meals I have EVER had!! Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. This is what we ordered: brioche popup, olives, and chicken liver mousse for appetizers. It is truly the most delicious liver mousse I have had. For entree and sides: porterhouse, potatoes bravas, and sautéed spinach. We also tried all of their sauces: "all dem sauces" on the menu, which made it fun. The best sauces were the horseradish cream and aji verde. Ohhhhh my goodness, I was in HEAVEN! In terms of staff and service, this place has it down!!! Efficient in kitchen (had counter seats) and very kind, engaging staff. Everyone made us feel welcomed. Music they played was trendy which was different, but went with the vibe of the restaurant.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and have really enjoyed the service and food. It does get a bit loud at times but sometimes im ok with the lively vibe. Have never been disappointed. Parking can be tough, but woth it.

Yelp
Had a very bad experience the last time we were there!! Maybe our mistake was accepting to sit at the counter (that they offered us even though we had made a reservation for the patio) where all the chefs (many of them) prepare everyone's food!! Everyone yelling orders and clanging of pots and pans--couldn't even talk to my husband who was right next to me!! We asked for our check without even completing finishing our meal--that's how bad it was at that counter!! And for this horrible experience our bill was $198.00. That bill did not include any alcohol or dessert!!!

Yelp
I went for my first time to celebrate my wife's birthday Saturday night. I accidentally cancelled my reservation instead of confirming the text. Despite that, they were extremely accommodating and found us a table. The waitress went out of her way to accommodate our vegan diner. And last, the Sommelier came over to say hello and bring us limoncello. Everything was fantastic and the staff was A+. Love this place and cannot wait to try their new tapas bar!! Bravo!

Steph B.

Yelp
Such a great experience! Our server Stefanie was perfect. Knowledgeable and gave us just the right amount of attention. We had radicchio salad, marrow, tenderloin, ribeye, sweet potato gratin and baked potato. Every item was delicious. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant in town! The food and service are unbeatable! Get the salmon!

Yelp
My husband and I went to RBC last night to celebrate our anniversary and OMG -- YOU NEED TO GO. We sat at the chefs counter and had a prime view of the BOSS GRILL MASTER CRUSHING IT ALL NIGHT!!! I actually almost cried when I bit into our Snake River Ribeye. This was the most perfectly seasoned and cooked steak I've had in my life - seared on the outside, juicy on the inside. Absolute perfection! My only qualm is that we don't live in Bend, so I can't come back every week.

Yelp
What else can I add that has not been covered? Gorgeous building, lovely staff, next level food. My husband and I had reservations last night for my 40th birthday. Our server Amelia was lovely. We had pop ups and smashed potatoes. Every item was perfect, my steak with berniese sauce was outstanding. Usually I'm a mid rare steak gal and I'm glad I inquired, medium was just right. My husband's salmon was medium it was delicious but next time he will get mid well. We moved to Bend 2 months ago and agreed this is the best meal we have had and will return again & again. The wine and bar menu are top notch. Don't miss the house made limoncello. Also make reservations!

Yelp
This is a true 5-star restaurant. John Gorham, of Toro Bravo and 9 other restaurants in Portland, brought his Midas touch to Bend with this smash hit. The vibe is very Bend--exposed beams, various animal heads on the walls, and Edison lighting hanging from rough ropes. You need a reservation in advance! Service is excellent, with ample staff and the servers know what they're talking about. The food is served family style, so if you like to try a little of everything, this is your spot. While this restaurant features steak, there are options for everyone. I had the best salmon I've ever had, along with the Brazilian cheese bread (delish!) and the Toro radicchio salad, for yummy nostalgia. The hubs had the tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly at medium rare and he couldn't speak until he'd finished it--"I can't remember having a better filet than that." I forgot to take photos of the first few dishes--so you'll have to use your imagination. The food here is sublime! Cocktails are creative and wine list is good. Come give this place a try!

Yelp
Best restaurant in Bend as far as I'm concerned. Modern ambiance, friendly service, a nice Northwest Crossing location, and great food. We weren't that hungry so we split a ribeye for the main (along with a very good but non-traditional baked potato) with some yummy chimichurri on top. For starters, the endive salad was great and the chicken liver mousse surprisingly delicious. Our server advised trying a bacon-wrapped date each and wow they were good. Book well in advance.

Yelp
Pretty Amazing!! Took my wife and in-laws to RBC for a special dinner - first time going to RBC (we moved to Bend, OR less than a year ago)! Food: 10/10! What these chefs do with steak and everything else was amazing! Steak was incredible! Simply awesome!!! Tender. Tasty! Awesome! Service: 10/10 (actually higher!!) Super friendly, knowledgeable, and TOTAL commitment to customer-satisfaction and customer experience! These folks work as a well-oiled machine!! Wanted for nothing and always looking to deliver anything and everything that you could possibly want to have a fantastic dining experience! We all collectively commented to each other that this was easily the BEST service we have received in Bend, in Oregon, and even top 5 service experiences we have had ever! It was really that good! Ambiance. 2/5 Sorry guys! aThe food and service were so GREAT that they easily made up for the overly loud environment. Between music and all the guests made it very difficult to carry in a conversation with each other without shouting. I wish ai could have provided pictures of the amazing steaks and dishes. Nobody was willing to waste any time digging in when the food arrived. Sorry!

Yelp
Stunning preparation and presentation of food. Need to make reservations in advance. We sat at the chef countertop and it was fabulous! Very attentive service and a cool, relaxing vibe surrounds you.

Yelp
One of the best dinners we've had in a very long time. Food was amazing, service was great. My only complaint was that it was very loud. We will be back!

Yelp
We probably had one of the most memorable foodie experiences at RBC thanks to the wonderful staff and amazing food. The interior of RBC is beautiful, when you first walk in you're greeted with a cool meat fridge that displays their dry aged steaks. This place was definitely designed for an intimate date spot. We came to splurge and celebrate our recent nuptials. I'm kind of bummed they ran out of both their 28 day and 45 day aged steaks, we were informed that those go very quickly on the weekend. So pro tip, if you want the dry aged stuff, try to book your dinner reservations early. Ours was at 8:45 pm and we still missed out. The steaks we got were still pretty amazing, we got their 16oz ribeye and 10oz hanger steak. I was actually pretty surprised how much I liked the hanger steak more than my usual go to, which is the ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. The staff even offered to cook a portion of the ribeye that my husband and I were splitting bc I told them it was a little too rare for me (my husband loves his medium rare, I like a good medium). Other dishes we tried was spaghetti western carbonara--hands down probably the best squid ink pasta I've ever had. The potatoes brava, which were a little too salty for me. Then we finished strong with their chocolate molten cake. I know, it's a super simple desert, but again, probably the best I've ever had. What made this experience so memorable was the staff. We were so taken cared of from the moment we walked in, up until we walked out. Every server we had was so nice and attentive. They made us feel celebrated for our recent marriage, it was great and made for a special night. This place is a 10/10 all around and I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great experience.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! I'm up in Bend for a few days, and was recommended RBC by a friend of a friend. Sat at the bar, both bartenders were super friendly. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, the fried cauliflower was amazing, and the sautéed spinach as well. Cocktails were A+, and the overall vibe/ambience in the place is great. If you're looking for a place with great food, great drinks, and great service with great conversation, look no further!

Yelp
Ordered the 60 day dry Cowboy Steak. It was cooked to perfection. Served nicely sliced with the full set of sauces. Appetizers were bacon wrapped dates and hush puppies. Both were some of the best I ever had. Our side dishes were baked potatoes and sweet potato. Wow. It's pricey but well worth it.

Yelp
We went here for our 25th anniversary. We have been before but this time was pretty special. I will admit the atmosphere is pretty spunky, but I think that's what they are going for. This is not a 'Michelin' restaurant but true to Michelin-style restaurants, it gives you the experience you're looking for. Unlike many of the reviews on here, it's more than just expensive steak and small appetizers. If you want quality over quality , go to Outback or Sizzler; or The Kings Buffet. The owners of this place participate in a very lively and fun experience. The drinks are creative and uniquely. The menu from the top to bottom is nothing but top notch. Their appetizers are delightful; to die for are the R.B.C. Poutine, Hush puppy's and Grilled Bone Marrow. Their salads are seasonal and well suited. Even their choice of sparkling beverages is unique (see pictures). Again, it's not cheap, but I'm not sure why you'd spend $68 on a steak and complain about paying for a $3 sauce or $20 for an appetizer. That's consistent with most steak houses. To our family it's the best place to have a 'steak-sperience'. Not quiet, not inexpensive but worth an evening of food and friends..

Yelp
I can't say enough about RBC...their food, service and ambiance are top notch. They were restaurant legends in Portland for many years with a massive reputation at their multiple locations. They now have scaled down their operations to just one restaurant in Bend. The steaks are all sourced locally...and although I cook a decent ribeye...their Snake River Ribeye was the greatest steak I've ever had in my life! The Potatoes Bravas and the Cedar Plank Salmon are also absolute musts. Their service team is knowledgeable, friendly and on top of it. Our server gave great recommendations, educated us on food and wine and added his own genuine touch. It's now my new favorite restaurant in Bend. Thanks RBC Team!

Lindsey A.

Yelp
My review is based on dining at RBC at least 10 times (or more). The ambience is great, the service is almost always on point and we have certain items from the menu that we usually get because they are the best (7-minute egg radicchio salad, potatoes bravas, teres major steak & carbonara). Some of their rotating menu items have been less successful but I don't hold that against them. This has always been my favorite restaurant in Bend!
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE- what else can you ask for! I definitely recommend coming here and YOU MUST TRY the baked potato & a steak! Great flavor and cooked to perfection. We were sat at the bar on a Friday night had great drinks and conversation with the bartender ! I hope I am back in bend soon just so I can have another meal here!!!

Paula F.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience at RBC! The customer service and food quality was outstanding. I've been a long-time fan of Brickhouse, but I'm afraid my time with them is done. Our meal was prepared exactly as requested and and the bartenders and attendants for very friendly and professional. I can't wait to go back! Thank you RBC!

Yelp
We've been living in Bend for a while and moving from a large metropolitan area, one of the things my wife and I miss the most was top tier restaurants. For those special anniversary or special date nights, Rancher Butcher Chef is one of the restaurants I would recommend, along with Bos Tauras. Some differences between the two. Bos Tauras has a much more intimate setting located in a more humble downtown setting. RBC is on the Westside and a larger establishment with a more urban atmosphere I'm used to in NYC, SF, LA, etc. Both are great and arguably the top tier ($$$) restaurants in Bend. If you have a larger group of friends in town, business meeting to impress the buyer then RBC might be a better choice. There's that familiar large city organized chaos at RBC that I enjoy watching and the ambiance keeps it more upbeat. Your conversation will also just melt and blend into the background more effectively so you can ramble away without having your conversation intruding on others. Bos Tauras is a smaller space and a bit of sound check is advised to maintain the intimacy so if you talk loud about how great you are, maybe help others and skip BT. BT is also two levels of seating available. The food at both Bos and Rancher are compatible, but my personal preference is Bos, but not by much so I'm splitting hair here. Ultimately it comes down to a good cut of meat and how it's prepared. My wife and I decided to split the 50 days aged ribeye. I know people swear by aged beef, but having many aged beef, the difference is subtle and you're fine with 28 days aged beef in mho. The ribeye was great as was the side dish of fries. A good cut of steak well cooked should not need any sauce to enhance it so I took mine as is (med/rare) and was just fine. Selection of wine is well selected, recommend highly the bacon wrapped dates, and the service was spot on. RBC is a classy joint and to be honest, depending on the occasion, we split our time between Bos and RBC. I think it's a win/win dining experience that I would like to see more in a growing Bend dining scene.

Yelp
Food's fantastic. Steak's perfect cook. Service's awesome. Every time, I visit Bend. I have to go there.
google avatar

Yelp
Sometimes you just want an amazing night out, one where the restaurant feels an extension of your family table, but amplified. If that sounds like the kind of night you want then look no further. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left we were treated like family. The food is obviously the highlight but the service our server Justin gave really set it all off. So incredibly happy we met Justin, Jojo and the RBC crew! We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Fredo C.

Yelp
Food was excellent, from the small plates, to sides, to main, and on to desert my wife and I were very impressed. Drinks were also great. Conversely, both the wine by the glass and by the bottle offerings left a lot to be desired. The wine line didn't have many options for lower cost bottles. Not everyone wants to spend hundreds on a bottle of wine. Now the atmosphere on the other hand was awful. By far one of the loudest restaurants in Bend. I did not enjoy the kitchen staff hollering orders and cussing/swearing. Additionally if you reserve a table you have a 50% you'll be sitting on a wood bench...I really struggle spending over $200 on a meal for two while sitting an overpriced picnic table bench. Service was ok, kinda slow and unresponsive but I will say the way the package leftovers is really cool. Separate packaging with dates.
google avatar

Delton S.

Yelp
A friend of ours told us about this amazing restaurant they visited recently. So we went there for our anniversary. I have to say that we weren't disappointed. RBC is a top tier experience that everyone who enjoys a quality steak should try. The atmosphere is open and inviting. The staff were gracious and attentive. The steak was better than we ever imagined it could be! Compliments to the culinary artists involved with our meal! They have something special that is unique and well worth the price! Bravo! Well done!!

Yelp
We ate here about a month ago, a family friend was in town and we wanted to do something special for her. Unfortunately she was put off by the noise in the restaurant and the cost of the food, we were already off to a rocky start event though we'd assured her that the meal was a treat and we even had a gift certificate from a friend to cover part of the expense. She ended up having the burger because it was less expensive and said it was the best burger she'd had. My husband and I meanwhile eat out in Bend a lot, we are big fans of Bos Taurus. Husband absolutely loved his ribeye and said he'd go back to RBC over BT any day. I disagreed because of the salt content. Now keep in mind, I love salt. But there was so much salt on the popovers, steaks and potatoes we had that I woke up in the middle of the night completely dehydrated and dying for water. That's actually never happened to me before. Service was ok, I was served chimichirri with my steak instead of the salsa verde I ordered and the server insisted she was right and I was wrong, but I hate chimichirri, so pretty sure she was wrong and I am apparently just an idiot. I know parsley when I taste it, and there's no parsley in salsa verde (thank god). Anyway, if you've got money to burn, RBC is for you!

Yelp
stop reading now. go book a reservation here asap. I could talk about this place for hours. we were visiting Bend for a wedding and were recommended RBC by the bride and groom, so glad we had dinner here. from start to finish, it was fantastic. they had a bunch of 90 day dry aged stuff in their dry agers but they said it wasn't ready yet, we ordered the 45 day tomahawk which had a decent amount of funk, just the way I like it. drinks, apps, wine, sides, everything was great. their bourbon list is borderline insane and their bourbon prices are the best i've seen in years. if you're a bourbon head, make sure you come here for a couple pours. I will 100% come back next time I'm in town, revisiting a restaurant when traveling is something im usually against but this place sets the bar high.

Yelp
Well. well, well... first visit for sure won't be my last. YELP Short Answer: No Doubt break the credit card out and enjoy this "Best Of" experience. At this moment in time, RBC is hands down the best dining experience in Bend. Location: Great new Grove location in NWX, tons of parking options but during seasonal busy times, ride or walk if possible. You can go enjoy a beverage at Waypoint if you get there early. Tips: Get there early if you don't have a reservation as it is open seating in the bar first come first serve and limited. Call well ahead for a good reservation many seating options not sure any are bad. We sat at the kitchen bar which was fun to watch but maybe not too romantic but it was fun. Buildout: New construction, first class for Bend, you will be impressed. Light and bright a really positive vibe kind of space. Menu: Pretty simple thankfully and refreshing. Lots of options but carnivores rejoice, it is all about the meat and the pairing of sides. Waitstaff are there to answer any menu or prep questions and they all seem to be expert at their jobs, so impressive. They make it clear, most items are meant to share which is prefect as some Bend establishments discourage sharing and charge split plate fees, that trick is so yesterday. Food Prep: Pretty average nothing over the top just well cooked food on a serving plate, perfection as one of the few times the food itself is the star here. Food Quality: Well, can't say enough, from the intentional sourcing of ingredients and the kitchen artistry is worth the shock once the bill arrives. RBC is NOT overpriced but just be prepared and don't let the menu pricing ruin your experience, we shared and still left some food behind. Steak: I think the star of the RBC, cooked to absolute perfection. Menu options changes daily. Ordered Snake River Rib-Eye MR and it was incredible. Waitstaff: This is one of those intangibles that can be overlooked when it is so good. Everyone at RBC from host station, to handoff for seating, and then introduction to our guest experience manager (kind of like a waiter) ... sorry don't really know what else to call it but on our visit everyone was so professional, what a team. Overall Value: Outstanding but please set your wallets expectation correctly. Final Thoughts: I know this is not RBC's first rodeo, and if they can maintain this level of a perfect customer experience, they shall set the bar very high for some of the fine dining options in Bend who seems to have lost their way in customer appreciation business. RBC did not happen by accident, appreciate the experience they provide.

Yelp
Great experience would definitely go again. Tar tar was amazing. Nothing but good things to say.

Yelp
we had an amazing time here. great cocktails, good salads and an awesome wine list. the wine manager is very knowledgeable and helped us pick out the perfect bottle. everyone is super friendly. the deconstructed baked potato was an amazing side. we also thought the meats were cooked perfectly. overall a solid bend restaurant !
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Food was so amazing with different cuts of meat we were able to share. Our server made it a fun experience, like you were ordering straight from the butcher to your table.

Methuselah H.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Bend. The food is consistently delicious and cooked as requested. I have never had a bad meal here. Food at RBC is served in dishes with the intent of sharing. Tonight we had the chicken fried cauliflower as an appetizer and had the 28 day dry aged hanger steak with Bearnaise sauce, creamed cabbage and sweet potato gratin. Everything was excellent! Creamed cabbage 'sounds' horrible to me but this is one incredible side dish! Service by Justin was exceptional. I like the interior of the restaurant; it is not pretentious or stuffy but welcoming.
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
This is a great addition to Bend's food scene. They have some creative and delicious options. We sat at the pass which I highly recommend. It's not the cheapest option but well worth it for a special occasion or anytime you see fit. They even have a small butcher shop if you're into diy cooking.
google avatar

Jocelyn K.

Yelp
We are total food snobs I'll start by saying that. We're from Portland and very used to the Toro Brovo restaurant group. We snagged late reservations for dinner and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. The cocktails were delicious. The rib eye was unreal. I can't wait to come back on our next trip out west! If you haven't tried this place yet it's a MUST DO. It was an amazing food experience from beginning to end!
google avatar

Miz P.

Yelp
Lived in the area for almost 20 years and this is the best fine dining steak experience we've ever had. Yes, better than Bos Taurus. The food was delicious and the service attentive. Only ding one star due to the loud noise/music environment. Make a reservation and go - it's worth it!
google avatar

Alphonso R.

Yelp
Unfortunate, recent experience. Lackluster service. Poor food execution. Expensive especially considering you're sitting on benches that look like they have been repurposed from Burger King.
google avatar

Jules H.

Yelp
The steak is perfect! I've had the ribeye and porterhouse and every single of their sides are delish.
google avatar

Stacy C.

Yelp
Heavens, I've dined at many a fine restaurant and this is fine while being Oregon. Each dish delicious, steak fantastic, and as simple as it sounds, the scalloped cabbage.....oh
google avatar

Steve P.

Yelp
RBC is a bit on the pricey side, but trust me, it's worth the splurge. The apps are a real treat, and the cocktails? Let's just say they know their stuff. Strange enough, my favorite part of the meal at the steak house was the Radicchio Salad - seriously phenomenal. Amazing selection of steaks and some solid seafood options. Mussels with fries as an app were amazing!

Yelp
I had an absolutely killer meal at this MUST visit restaurant in Bend. Where do I begin... I knew i was in for a treat when my cocktail was delivered in a stunning tall boy glass from the 50's, and the general manager explained about his passion for finding mid-century glassware. Listen, if the general manager cares as much about the barware as the cocktail. Just nod your head, smile, listen, learn and enjoy! They sat me at the bar with full access to the busy corner, busboys, managers, waiters, bartenders... I was flying solo, in the mood, and loved it. the food the atmosphere the people.... I mean what the hell do you want out of a restaurant? If i lived up there that stool would be permanently reserved at least once a week. My score 4.85.

Yelp
While this is not the first spot I'd recommend for fellow pescatarians, there are enough options on the menu to make it fun for vegetarians and pescatarians dining with omnivore groups, and the vibe is swanky and upscale without feeling stiff. Highlights were the brioche PopUps (delicious rolls), the potatoes bravas, and the fun cocktail list. If you're looking for a bougie but relaxed vibe for a big night out, this might be your spot! Note - I would definitely not recommend this restaurant for vegans.

Yelp
This is, hands down, one of the best restaurants- not just in Bend, but in the entire state... I would say, without exaggeration, probably one is the best in the entire country! Yes. We had a wonderful, phenomenal meal here. The quality of ingredients, the refinement of the recipes, the execution... superb! After our meal (which we felt was quite reasonably priced), a family member commented that "this restaurant restored our faith in Bend as a high level culinary town"! Why did they say that? Well... we've had mostly "very decent" foodie experiences here in Bend... read: "quite good, but just a little bit lacking"... probably because we're a bit snobbish, a bit spoiled, too experienced... with too much prior baggage- so we haven't had a truly "stellar" experience here, until now! This was the first restaurant that felt to that level. Oh, and the service was also amazing. Our waitress' name was Angel, she was so friendly and attentive. Super professional. I don't think I need to go into much further detail. I see that many other "yelpers" have already reviewed RBC before me... I am just adding my note here to give this great restaurant a well deserved boost. Check out my pix... Can't wait to visit here again!

Yelp
Been wanting to go for a while. Had high expectations from visiting their restaurants in Portland and this blew me out of the water! Great, attentive, friendly service and the kitchen knocked it out of the park. Zero complaints, cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Nice dining option in NW Crossing of Bend. The steak was perfectly made and the sides were amazing. Built to share meals and sides. Great cocktails. Could use a more robust wine list but this place rocks!

Yelp
This place is terrible. Everything comes ala cart, they even charge you for ketchup and other sauces. The steak is mediocre at best, potato's.... You get 3 tiny little yellow potatoes for $12.00. This place is loud and feels like a high school cafeteria. Worst steak house in Bend by far.

Yelp
Consistent, delicious, and always exceeding our expectations. The team has been stellar with my food allergies and made us feel right at home. Recommend the bar top for a more casual evening!

Yelp
Rancher Butcher Chef is pure culinary magic! We walked in pretty late, and the place was buzzing. And we didn't feel rushed at all even though we stayed well past closing time. Garrett, the owner/partner, is a gem of a host. He's incredibly kind and passionate about his restaurant. And the staff is so welcoming and helpful! Now, the food - every dish is a masterpiece. If you want a dining experience that's nothing short of enchanting, Rancher Butcher Chef is the place to be. Whether you're a foodie or just want an unforgettable meal, it's a must-visit. Your taste buds will thank you!
