"Rancho San Miguel Market in Sac’s Oak Park neighborhood sent out more than 3,000 coupon flyers to bring food costs down for shoppers. The deals are time-sensitive and run a wide gamut of products; in the first week, for instance, customers can get a 24-pack of water bottles for 98 cents. According to the Sacramento Bee, the grocery store is one of the few Spanish-speaking, affordable options in the area." - Paolo Bicchieri

Google
I recently visited this market, and I had a great experience The store was very clean. The customer service was excellent—friendly and helpful staff made sure I found everything I needed. On top of that, the prices were super affordable. I’ll definitely be coming back if I'm ever in the area.

Google
I just moved here I enjoy the prices but today I went to the meat counter and the Hispanic lady helped me,very nice but I noticed some chicken badly discolored and I didn’t think I had to say NOT to pick the older meat she still chose the obvious old meat I just put the bag back because I’m feeding my family and I’d be upset if my babies or me got food poisoning because of a poor choice.I rather go further to Save mart it’s like a Safeway but alittle more pricey. I rather Quality over quantity any day

Google
I Have To Take A STAR, Due To How EXPENSIVE This Store Is, For NO REASON! I Cannot Understand Their Logic In These Prices, Being In Oak Park Where The Poor Are Just Trying To Get By. They Know They Are The ONLY Grocery Store Close By, So They Jack Up Their Prices Knowing We Have No Choice But To Pay It! I Wish Things Were Different Here. So This Is My Neighborhood Store, Come Here Once-Twice-Sometimes Three Times Every Other Day -With 4 Girls It’s A Have To! I’m Very Happy With Their Meat Department, Their Really Good Produce Section, Along With The Fact That They Have All The Essentials Needed. The Hot Food Isn’t That Great Too Me, It Just Seems They Can Do So Much Better With The Authenticity Considering Their Great Staff. I Appreciate All Of Their Hardworking Staff, Their Friendly, Helpful And Part Of The Reason I Come Back! Since I’m Here A Lot I Needed To Show Some Loyalty With A Review And The 4 STARS They Earn Everyday. Hoping They Will Lower Their Prices, Sincerely, Your Loyal Customer!

Google
I am so impressed by the quality of products and presentation that this place displayed. It's been quite a while that I've been somewhere and was so taken back by their high standards. Rancho San Miguel is definitely one of those places. It was my first time at one of these grocery stores and I'll admit but I think they've beat Safeway on quality and standards. Definitely coming back!

Google
its says on a sign that they are employee owned. i think i saw an old food-4-less window tag on the door. they have authentic mexican food. they have most things one would expect to find at a food-4-less. there are non-food items. its well organized and has a lot of items arranged/staged in a convenient manner where there are densely sticked shelves that mesh well with each other. there is a self check-out available self check-out is where one would scan their own items/groceries on their own by using the barcode scanner machine instead of having a cashier handle it for you. they have some items locked up near the registers. the prices are mostly in the lower to lowest and sometimes middle-low prices too. l

Google
I placed an instacart order here for the first time. The manager was super helpful when exchanging my item. She didn't seem rushed or annoyed which I know these things can be! I believe her name was Elena. I recommend this market !

Google
Today was the grand opening. The employees were very cheerful and ready to help. So much variety in the produce department! Large meat department! Fresh bakery! Salsa and ceviche bar! I’ll be back to sample the hot food counter!

Google
Excellent addition to Sacramento's farm-to-fork and grocery store scene. Great customer service. We can't wait until the deli offers tables.

Nya B.

Yelp
I am giving this place a rating of three due to persistent sexual misconduct I have observed in the store. Loss prevention personnel are sexually harassing women and damaging their reputation. The work environment resembles a high school. I sympathize with the female employees, as management fails to address this issue.

Walter N.

Yelp
The family dinner meals to go at the food court are legit. My favorite is the chile verde, but the carnitas regularly goes on sale for $15 and it easily feeds 4 adults. Even at full price ($25) it's still a great deal. I also grab a container of guacamole, some crema, and extra tortillas to go with it.

Hilda A.

Yelp
Store is big with a wide selection of products at fair prices, but beware. I've been here a few times, and I've ended up with expired products, and items that expire within the next 2-3 days. The quality is highly questionable, and if you drop by, just be cautious. As for the customer service, overall I haven't had any issues, but just like all other stores, they need more cashiers.

Lucero R.

Yelp
Prices are a bit high, but no different than anywhere else. They have weekly AD deals which makes it reasonable. I honestly like the cleanness throughout the store. They have a wonderful selective meat display. Produce looks amazing and the bakery selection is right up my alley. As for customer service, the few in interacted with were absolutely nice and very informative. I would recommend coming here.

Emy Q.

Yelp
Rancho market is a go-to for fresh produce and Mexican seasoned meat. It's so affordable too and ready to cook. Inside is clean and spaced out. Everything I need is on the outer aisles and it's always organized and there's weekly specials listed up front but also on the price tags. Sat morning wasn't as busy as expected so I was in/out in under 20 mins. Big win

Julie M.

Yelp
What I really enjoy about these stores or the Food 4 Less name is you walk into a well organized, clean environment. From the produce, to meat, to bakery and down the aisles it's a refreshing feeling to not feel crammed and to engage in friendly service. The freshness and quality of the produce, meat and bakery are appealing and welcoming. The panaderia offers a menu of hot Mexican items. We tried their tacos and burrito. Such a good taste and so fresh. I enjoyed their cranberry pineapple drink. It was sweet enough for taste.

Sharra R.

Yelp
ATTITUDES OF STAFF AND MANAGERS... They discriminate on a regular basis... Prices are high. Gave up any thought of shopping there.

César C.

Yelp
The food and stock products is great. They had a homeless guy outside showing his money that he got to spend on it. They didn't let him in, I bought the milk he want for him, when I got out it was 3 employees harassing him outside, I give the homeless guy the milk and started questioning these 3 guys why they don't let him buy, they threatened me with a trespass of their property and one of them push me out of my chest. I was in a rush and one work appointment to attend if not I'd love to wait to wait for the police that they called on me because I defended a homeless with money customer. Fuck you rancho San Miguel

Rosa L.

Yelp
I have been shopping here since they opened in Sacramento but have been seeing the quality going down since the produce guy left working here. I find moldy organic fruit and veggie section and coconuts. They really need to hire someone with pride in their work like the last guy (upon opening) who had the produce section in order. Generally the store is clean and tidy.

Yelp
A hidden, but not really that hidden, gem! the fresh meat counter , with fresh/homemade legit PORK RINDS!!! it's something to remember these from childhood, but fresh like this so so good! The meat can be questionable but only sometimes! the prices are fair, and even nicer on sale (watch during or right before a holiday)! But not AFTER when you're likely to find the dicey-ness on extra mode! So many great prices to help your money, and food budget stretch! Off-brands, brands you only remember from childhood or the corner spot! Rarely EVER, NEVER crowded or overly-overwhelming like the box chains! Most employees and managers are friendly and attentive, including that meat counter I can't stop ! one of my favorite details is that this is 100% employee owned! you cannot beat that for supporting local and your immediate community PERIODT!

Blanche M.

Yelp
The food source/food 4 less feel, but make it Hispanic. This place is so cool. Plenty to choose from, and plenty of options. We loved their hot food options. Plenty of marinated meats to choose from as well. We loved this place for groceries too!

yasmine g.

Yelp
First and last time I come to this store . I was so excited to see what they offer here and starting off with the produce things were either mooshy or old . Moved onto the meat section and same thing seasoned meat look soooo dry and brown . Customer service was not great . Girl threw the receipt at me and a Homeless man just sitting at the end of the cashier . Definitely prefer to stick with the Victoria Mercado or la superior !

Dora L.

Yelp
This is the 2nd time ordering a cake from here and once again, completely different from what we ordered. The ladies who work in the bakery are so sloppy and careless when it comes to designing their cakes. That's not including the rude and stand offish attitudes the workers have in the bakery. This is a great store but they need to hire people who actually want too work.

Molly B.

Yelp
Clean spacious store. The staff here are all nice. I was in the neighborhood and stopped in here for salsa. I like that you can sample them before purchasing and I bought 2lbs worth of salsa.

Donns S.

Yelp
This is about the Rancho San Miguel located at 4401Broadway in Sacramento, Ca where I am a regular customer. This store is very competitive with food prices. The aisles are well organized, clean and spacious. Equally if not more important the staff is stellar - friendly, efficient and helpful. I would especially like to mention Tony, a real team member who listens to the customer and provides great service with a smile. Thank you Tony! I hope management will thank you as well for your service.

Nichole C.

Yelp
This is a long overdue update. The store has definitely upgraded and fixed all the things I had mentioned before. The staff there are very pleasant and really go out of their way to help out. I shop there most days of the week. Thank you for listening and caring about our community and your customers!

Christopher B.

Yelp
Love the big produce section and spacious facility. The prepared foods deli doesn't offer vegetarian beans, unfortunately. So, no veggie burritos! That's gonna limit our visits a lot, as my husband is a vegetarian.

Yelp
A few weeks ago, I stopped by Rancho San Miguel Market in hopes of finding a healthy yet convenient lunch, and was not disappointed. Last time I was here, it was either a Food Maxx or Food 4 Less, something like that. While the remodeled store still feels like a warehouse, and still has the same old flooring, it is much cleaner and more organized overall. As an added bonus, they now have cute purple shopping carts. Prices are still very low, and the product selection can't be beat. They still carry all of the same great products that I love, such as Mexican candies, tortas, empanadas, salsas, conchas, aguas frescas, tres leches cakes, etc. Recently, I grabbed a steak salad from the fresh salad and sandwich case in the produce department, located in the back right corner of the store, in front of the bakery. When I picked out my salad, there was still some steam on the lid from the hot steak. I carried it back to a park about a mile away, and had a great lunch. Even though this is a discount market, this was one of the best pre-packaged salads I've ever had in my life. I would definitely put it on par with the expensive salads that I've tried from places like Whole Foods. Do you ever have a meal that's so good that it just makes your whole day better? Because that's how good this salad was! I will definitely come back for another salad next time I'm in the area!

Sweet E.

Yelp
It was ok. I'm not going back. Because of the rating, I thought it would be better than my local La Superior but it wasn't. Selection is minimal. It's just a huge store. It was clean. The meat wasn't fresh looking and they don't have a lot of Latino grocery items from countries other than some Mexican grocery. Skip it.

Frank H.

Yelp
When I went there. I had my e scooter. And they say I can't bring it in. Why would I want to leave a $750. Scooter outside where it will get stolen. This is the East side of Lodi. I been taking it in there for a year now. No sign nothing says you can't. Don't shop at rancho San Miguel in Lodi California...

Julian S.

Yelp
DO NOT eat from this location , I got food poisoning from the carne asada I haven't stopped throwing up since .

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Update after business owner response: the loss prevention agent did not "thank him for his time and the misunderstanding". How does one "thank someone for a misunderstanding"? My partner was owed an apology for the incredibly rude shakedown. The men did not even identify themselves as agents (We didn't know who they were, hence thinking they were managers). It's not my partner's fault that your agents somehow BOTH didn't do their jobs correctly. The fact that they also harassed the second man behind my partner would lend me to believe your loss prevention agents were goofing off and not watching the camera for a few minutes, so to compensate they decided to come down and aggressively check everyone's bags. Also for them to say "Are you stealing?" is incredibly uncouth. If your agents are going to say such an accusation, they better be 100% sure they are correct. They could have said, "May we check your receipt?" instead. Ridiculous. I suggest you get competent agents. Original: I have been coming here for over a year with my partner. We live in the neighborhood within walking distance. We love the staff and love the store. Yesterday, to my surprise, my partner gets home from a trip to Rancho San Miguel and tells me an unfortunate story about how he was stopped on the way out by two men (one of them a tall bald man with a mustache, maybe a manager) and accused of stealing 2 pizzas. The men proceeded to check his receipt and his purchases, mulling over each item and scrutinizing the receipt multiple times. Big surprise, both pizzas along with all other items had been paid for. My partner told them "Why would I want to steal from this place when I come in every day??" No apology was given by the bald manager for the ridiculous harassment. My partner then witnessed the men harassing a black man for the same reason, even though he insisted he paid for everything. I'm wondering if investigating every pizza that leaves the building is worth losing loyal customers. Great store except for the over-the-top profiling and accusations . I'm going to figure out a way to contact their main office but they don't make their number known online.

Yelp
I like this grocery store! A great new addition in the Oak Park area. This Mexican grocery is clean and has lots of Latin food selections. Prices are not the lowest but not bad. We also had the made to order food. The burritos are big and tasty, and they have other offerings like ceviche, horchata, and chicharron. I didn't give it five stars because they have essentially no seating to eat the food (even outside) and, several of the staff seemed very new and yet not friendly. Overall, worth a visit!

Gillian A.

Yelp
Wasn't familiar with this grocery chain beforehand but now I see why locals are really excited that a store location opened up here. It's a huge grocery store! Kinda reminds me of Winco but more spacious. Item variety leans toward Mexican cuisine, but you can still find plenty of common food products. Price-wise, it's like Walmart. My go-to Mexican grocery store is Mi Rancho on Florin, and I still like the salsa and store-made tortilla chips more there; the salsa molcajete here has a little too much blended tomato and the tortilla chips here have some powdery touch to them (similar to like on wonton chips.....not bad but not preferable). Had to get some Fuji apples as Fuji apple is my favorite apple type and there was a huge mound of nice-looking ones here. Sadly, they tasted old (a little mushy inside). Hopefully there will be a better batch here soon. The staff are very friendly here.....like the friendliest I've seen at a grocery store lol. A gentleman who just finished re-stocking some veggies asked me how my visit was so far and hoped that I was enjoying it here (I was). Overall pretty solid grocery store. Clean, brightly-lit. Can definitely see people making this place a regular stop for their grocery errands.

Edgar Z.

Yelp
Yesterday I had a very bad experience with the cashier and the store manager I was discriminated against just because of being Mexican and asking in a respectful way that if I could do his job a little faster. Denying me the service. Despite the fact that the manager told him to charge me, the assistant refused to gave me the service just because I'm Hispanic.

Yvette B.

Yelp
Great service and food, as always Thank you for your hard work and exceptional customer service

Tony B.

Yelp
Asada ANYTHING is GOOD! The ladies who work in the kitchen are always nice and friendly. Spanish speaking is a plus . Clean store overall . Small area to eat while on lunch.

Laura D.

Yelp
Ordered family special of Carnitas. Got home and carnitas were a big blob of fat. I do realize Carnitas will have some fat, but these were exceptionally fatty. Also, supposed to be a 1 lb container, which was questionable. Included a 2 lb container of pasty refried beans and another 2 lb container of dry Mexican rice. Tortillas were also dry and fell apart upon handling. Salsa was a 1/2 pint of tasteless pico. All went into organic waste bin.

Susan D.

Yelp
I wonderful little market. We went specifically for their chicharrones in the hot prepared foods area. These guys are MASSIVE!!! Meaty, Crunchy! We had gone pretty late in the evening and their pan and pastries were marked way down so we grabbed a box for the family.

Charles T.

Yelp
The store - Affordably priced, large selection with great produce. They have a great panaderia selection of baked goods. Another standout is their large selection of dried chili peppers. The deli counter - delicious, affordable and fast. If you want to feed a crowd for a reasonable price this is the way to do it. They have a good selection of meats from carnitas to Chile Colorado that all tastes fresh and well made. You can get bulk rice and beans or just order a burrito and either way the food will be ready quickly and won't break the bank. Ambience is what you would expect from a larger grocery store.

Trevor M.

Yelp
I'm so happy this store is here and so sad to see the struggles they're enduring. Theft in broad daylight, shoplifters even assaulting the checkout staff. I love this store, it's workers and their 70 ft meat counter. The produce is cheap and fresh and the hot food counter is worthy of bringing bags to work to feed the office. I hope they stay and thrive, our community desperately needs this place.

Janelle G.

Yelp
Very clean, very organized, lots of fruits and veggies to choose from! Service was great! Desserts were very pretty!

Rose G.

Yelp
I love this store it has the Hispanic Culture and the people here are friendly. The fruit is amazing here and the prices are good. I like that it sits in the heart of the community. The store has cooked food as well as a bakery and a butcher. Always clean and easy to navigate.

Destinie Z.

Yelp
Went in this morning around 10am to use a $10 off wyb $50 coupon I received in the mail and to check out what this new market had to offer. They had many Mexican cooking staples available which is really good to know. Their sales on produce were amazing and I snatched up a bunch of items for very affordable prices. The staff were very friendly, store was well stocked and very organized/clean. This market is very close to my house, but they do not have everything I need and some items I know I can get much cheaper at other grocery stores. I believe I will stop in again to pick up their sale flyer items or if another coupon is sent my way.

Patrick W.

Yelp
I just got a chance to check 'em out. Went in for some rando groceries and really more because I was curious because they had their grand opening this week. Store was nice and bright. The folks working there seemed pretty chill. There was a big line of folks down the way trying to get jobs. I'm happy to say I was pretty stoked on my shopping. They had a decent selection of hot sauces. Which I picked up a couple. The produce looked legit. They even had a few jackfruits and I was like wtf I never see stores carrying jackfruit. Sodas were cheap too. I didn't get anything from the hot case station but I did take a look and it looked legit. It's so great to have a grocery store in the neighborhood again. I mean compared to living in the burbs where you have to drive miles just to get to 1-2 grocery stores...this area has like 8-10 (sf market/Safeway/Raleys/bel air/ sac max/Trader Joe's/ corti/Taylor's etc...) within a 3 mile radius. This one's close to me and it looks dope so far.

David R.

Yelp
Stop by to get a quick bite to in the deli area but was let down not from area so wasn't able to get a refund no flavor in the food what so ever sauce taste like it was out of can and Chile Verde sucked meat was not cooked thoroughly. Definitely will be coming bak

Doowop B.

Yelp
I love this market best selection of everything but I wanted to tell them to come get this basket

Silvia S.

Yelp
This is the best grocery store. Their pan dulce is fresh and delicious. It's a very clean store and the employees are very professional, nice, and helpful. Love it, love it.

Trina M.

Yelp
So I do like the people in this store. They are usually helpful. But today I feel like they purposely stole my money. They had a sign for chunky guacamole (which is always fresh) the price was 5.99 there was no other guac only one tub I ordered 2 lbs got charged 6.99 a lb. Asked why got some incoherent answe from the restuarant person.. Ok so asked the clerk she said oh the chunky has tomatoes and onions . So mine is chunky it has tomatoes and onions. Clerk says I don't know ( must be new to lying to customers. So I pay because it's good cold guacamole. But I'm charged 1.27 tax ( I know not alot) and I asked for a manager. Asked why was I charged tax. She said oh because you got that from the restaurant. Otherwise Tony said she didn't know. The CDTFA the state dept in charge of taxes says if it is a cold to go food then there are no taxes. I mean it was to go I didn't sit down and eat 2 lbs of guacamole. It was 3 dollars now. If anyone else has this situation here is a link to the CDTFA and the law they are violating someone should let Toni know because she had no idea or acted like she had no idea her store was stealing my money. https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/lawguides/vol1/sutr/sales-and-use-tax-regulations-art8-all.html

Michael Shane B.

Yelp
Great place to go grocery shopping. The people who work there are the best and everything is so fresh.

Nicholas M.

Yelp
I decided to abandon a nearly lifelong relationship with Safeway and try out this store after Safeway screwed up their app, apparently to make it harder to get the sale prices, and then "upgraded" their carts to prevent you from taking them outside. I guess Safeway doesn't want people spending enough money to fill a cart and then take the groceries out to their car in that cart. Anyway, I've already trashed Safeway on here. This review is about Rancho San Miguel. Every bit as good as Safeway. And what I'm guessing would have cost around $200 cost me $130. And this beautiful cart wheeled all of the groceries out to my car with zero problems. Great prices, good meat and produce, working carts. Five stars.

Bryan D.

Yelp
So glad I decided to stop by this place. Was coming from the wonderful dmv and decided to stop in. Very good prices and an extreme good selection of produce and meats. Reasonable prices as well. I will have to say the staff are some of the most friendly I have seen at a grocery store in awhile. The fresh made salsas are amazing and the lady working behind the counter making them was very nice and helpful . Didn't get her name but I'm pretty sure she is Jamaican. Went with some of the flank thin cut steak to make tacos with and it turned out awesome. Will be back for sure. Need to try the ceviche next time. But man the fresh made salsas they have are so good.

Kris A.

Yelp
This store is one of the neatest, cleanest and best stocked grocery stores I have ever been in. Plus, I love the Hispanic food choices you don't find in other stores. I wish there was a Rancho San Miguel Market where I live in Colorado.

Krystyn L.

Yelp
I went here on a Saturday morning to get ingredients for birria (among other things), and I was able to find everything I needed, and more! The variety, selection, and prices of their meat and produce is great. I feel bad for only describing it as "great" because it's such an overused and flat word, but that's what it truly is. I had no complaints and happily shopped every aisle to see what else they had. The place was clean and well-organized, and staff was incredibly friendly. Even the shoppers looked like they wouldn't want to be anywhere else but there!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Would give the food 4/10. Meats are super dry and been sitting out too long, portion isn't generous for $10, greasy and tastes ok. Nothing was really fresh.

Junior A.

Yelp
This is the first Rancho San Miguel market in the sacramento area. Previously the closest markets were in Lodi and stockton. The store replaces the old foodsource that closed down in 2020. It is great to have another hispanic based grocery store in the area. Preciously there was only La superior, Viva, and Mi Rancho. If you've been to the old foodsource in this building you can tell it's all be remodeled. There is tons of variety. Baking department, meat department, hot food department, seafood, and more.

Martin H.

Yelp
This place has its faults. Not many and the faults they have are completely out of their control. Short staffed normally yes but the staff they have are awesome. That's the negative and onto the positive and I'll start when you walk in the front doors. Produce is epic with a selection of everything at affordable prices and arranged and kept immaculate. Small baked good section which I tend to avoid as everything looks so good (and I'm diabetic but they do have a selection of sugar free cake on hand). The star of the show in my opinion is the hot counter. Seriously some of the best Mexican food anywhere in Sacramento and at prices that don't make you skimp on selecting. Always hella consistent and I've never had a bad experience here yet in the year I've been stuffing my face. Their house salsas are tasty and as stated consistent. Next the pastry shop. Like I said I can't participate in gouging myself with these beautiful cakes but I can admire them. Meat counter next and boy they have EVERYTHING you'll need to feed your family. Never had a piece of meat I've ever been unhappy with and the staff here are super helpful. The rest of the store. As you'd expect the same stuff as other grocery stores but cheaper (we spend on average around $200 a week, there's myself and my wife at WallyWorld) 20% cheaper on average. Like I said everyone is suffering getting staff so be patient at the check stands, the wait is worth it.

David W.

Yelp
Excellent staff who love their jobs. Better service than the boujee stores. Wide selection of groceries with unbeatable prices. Exactly what Oak Park needed!

Kim N.

Yelp
I went for the grand opening! It's nice to have a market with pretty much everything! One stop shop. Owners and managers were on site to greet you and address whatever questions u have. The service was awesome! Everyone was just super helpful, from the staff in hot foods and staff on the floor!
