Honestly, I gave this place a shot. Actually, 4. Its pretty close to my house and, at first, was better than the boba shop across the street. But, after coming here a couple more times, it is clear that the quality is not good at all. Every time I go, I order 30% sweetness, and even then its wayyyyy too sweet. Ive tried things in a couple different areas of their menu but they are all nasty to be honest. :(

This is the hippest boba spot with anime stylings and a unique menu with anything you're looking for. They have cream slushes which are most def my favorite. They play some great hip hop music.

My daughter introduced me to this place. And listen!!! This is the most AMAZING milk tea I’ve ever had! If you are in this area, you have got to check it out! You won’t regret it!

From day one YoYo was terrific. She intently listened to what I wanted and from there recommended their house tea blend. But it did not stop there, she created a concoction that was not so sweet and not loaded with tea or ice. Gotta tell you it was perfect! And here is the best part, I have been going back to get this drink consistently for the last few months and each time she makes it perfect. Others have tried, but just cannot get it right (besides Diane who by the way is also terrific). Suffice to say I am a loyal customer and appreciate all the effort and attention these two women put into making my drink. YoYo is phenomenal and a true asset to this location. It is obvious that she really cares and does not just go thru the motions. While I have tried many boba tea places throughout San Diego over the years, this place is the best and worth the drive every time. If you are looking for a good boba tea shop, your search is over.

I’m new to tea and boba and also have dietary restrictions. I went in today for the first time and the person at the counter was so friendly and happy to help me figure out a tasty option. They even hung around until I tried it to see if I liked it or if he could make something else for me! Very nice people, super large menu with lots of options, cute decor with art everywhere, and overall good vibes. I’m excited to have them in the area and will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

Boba was exceptionally good and I enjoyed the hospitality I felt as I walked into the store. Workers were very efficient, especially Kyle I always enjoy my experience when he's there!!

I decided to treat myself to some boba and wanted to try this spot out. It was a hit! This boba spot was big and spacious. They had pretty artwork on the walls and they had vending machine games you can play and see if you win a prize. They also had board games you can play if you come with friends or on a cute date. The service was great! The employee that was working was really sweet and nice! She was extremely helpful. The drink that I got was a mango green tea with boba! The boba cups they come in are really cute and durable! You can also change the amount of sugar and ice that you want in your drink. I definitely can't wait to go back and try something different!

First time I was here and it also will be my last time here, I ordered 4 drinks, jasmine gt, Hawaiian gt, rose oolong tea and honey gt. The jasmine gt one I ordered half sugar, with boba, overall the taste is super bitter, even with half sugar I expect there is a slight sweet since it's more than light sugar, this one is completely no sugar, too bitter. There was something else inside the drink that I don't know what it is, I assume that was just the tea leaves or so but apparently it is not, the amount of boba is quite disappointing.

Sold boba option in the San Carlos area. I've been to the one that used to be in convoy and loved it so I was interested to see how this location is. We came on a Tues afternoon and it wasn't too busy. You order at a machine and you get a ticket. They call your order number when it's ready. We got the house milk tea with boba (30% sugar and 50% ice) and the strawberry matcha latte with pudding added. Both drinks had good flavor and the house milk tea had a strong tea presence which I appreciated. My partner said the pudding in his drink was a little firm but still enjoyable.

Used to frequent the convoy location so I'm glad there's another R&B tea open after the convoy location closed down. The thing that stands out most for me is tea quality, and this place doesn't miss. If you still taste the tea after all the syrups and creamer, you know it's good. My top 3 drinks - dragon fruit mango green tea, house milk tea with golden boba (golden boba is key), and jasmine green tea (the tea quality shines here)

The inside of this boba shop is so fun and super clean. The girl behind the counter was very sweet. Ordered the Lychee Green Tea Aloe Vera my new favorite drink from here. If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be stopping by. Thank you R&B Tea for the refreshing drink.

This is the only place that has nailed the taro flavor for me. I've gone twice in one week and it's been consistent with whoever has made it. The service is quick due to the computer orders and I also I like that they offer a scoop of protein in their drinks so it's a little more guilt free. They have the cutest set up in there too with games to play if you take little ones. This pregnant mama with crazy boba cravings appreciates you guys

First time coming in, I got the brown rice milk tea and it was really good. I am still trying to find a a boba shop that I can go to and not get tired of and this is definitely up there in my list. The service didn't disappoint either, definitely will be coming back here soon!

I was pleasantly surprised with how cool the interior looked! I liked my Taro Milk Tea but honestly, my friend got the honeydew one and it tasted so much better! I would definitely come back again to get my own order of the honeydew drink! Also, the cash register person was friendly - he played great music! You can also order on your own to the computer on the side!

Place is clean and someone came out from the back when I came to the counter. They have a strawberry black tea. I asked how does it taste considering I've mostly had strawberry with green tea. They offered to switch the black tea with green tea. It was a good drink. I got less ice and less sweetness.

First off, the girl that was working today was soo sweet! They have a BIG menu & I was struggling between drinks. She asked if it was my first time here-- but it wasn't. She asked what drink I had, Thai tea stormy. Then she recommended the brown sugar boba milk and then recommended a popular flavor, green jasmine tea with mango ~ or something like that. Honestly sounded amazing, but I had jasmine tea at home!! I think it's a great quality of customer service to be able to recommend drinks if a customer is struggling. It was noon at the time I came i and so I needed fuel for the day. I already had my heart set on ordering one of the coffee drinks. I mentioned that to her and she gave me descriptions of each which was nice. She described the Hokkaido Coffee as a caramel note one which sounded appealing! I decided to go with that and get brown sugar boba and grass jelly with it. The toppings are .75 cents each. The drink was $5.50! So, $7.55 total~ The drink itself was not bad! Coffee came through, a little too sweet for me and it tasted a little buttery ~ The brown sugar boba was warm and chewy (in a good way). But the grass jelly was in such a large chunk (3 square chunks)-- that it was hard to break it apart to suck and drink. The flavor of the grass jelly wasn't sweet nor was it plain. It was different but good! The texture of it was soft like silken tofu. Overall, cute spot for boba. They have a big menu -- suitable for everyone's taste. You can change the sweetness and ice level. You can order with the worker or you can use the kiosk. They have tables inside and cool anime posters on the wall. Initial D, Rurouni Kenshin, AOT, etc! Fun music and yummy drinks!

Ok new place had to try. Huge parking lot so lots of parking many stores near by. Very clean ,great vibe, music, the place has kool stuff to look at. Great seating and I seen board games I think you can use. Customer service awesome she explained the different drinks and fast service. My drink was Hawaiian green tea with 30% sugar and golden boba . The flavors are nice and boba was perfect. I will definitely be back....

Huge menu, ordered 4 drinks and it all came out super quick. Got the kumquat lemon tea, milk tea, jasmine green milk tea with cream cheese, and passion fruit green tea with aloe Vera. The kumquat lemon tea was the best. Regular sweetness wasn't too sweet. The cream cheese was a bit too sweet for me

Pleasantly surprise with this boba close to home. I got the hazelnut milk tea with boba and as always, I love when they ask for the sugar percentage and ice quantity. They also use vegan creamer for all their milk teas so that's an extra like! I could have had more hazelnut flavor but overall it was really good. Their boba was amazing. Def I'll recommend it!

Believed two out of our four drinks were made incorrectly. Went back in, and the worker assured us it was made correctly instead of offering to remake it or any other resolution. The other two drinks were ok, not as good as other locations. Either way, waste of money!

Omg yassss! They're amazing! I've been wanting to try R&Bs Thai tea for a quite a while and I was not disappointed :) Keanu on the wall makes for great ambiance and the service was great! 10/10 will be back :D

Cute little spot I found by chance. Just happened to be in the neighborhood. They have some fun wall art up, and lots of anime ambience going on. They have some tasty boba, and it's great for a little quick treat. There's plenty of parking. Located right off of the freeway in a shopping center, very convenient. The service was excellent, they were very polite and helpful. You can order from a kiosk or from the front counter.

Failed 0/2 drinks. Not good, drinks were diluted and bland. I don't know how this place gets 4 stars review. Not worth coming back.

These teas make my Friday after a long week. Delicious and affordable. The location is pretty convenient too.

I absolutely love this place . I love the different flavors and options. I like that I can order at the self-order kiosk. Somedays are busier than others, it seems busier at night . It has some tables and calming music. It's very relaxing here. If you like coconut they have a couple different drinks. Try them all.

No food here but a great tea spot!!! Would highly recommend this place as there are so many options to choose from and you'll never get bored trying the treats!!! Friendly service with smiling staff willing to help you decide. The vibe here is chill and a good place to hang out as it's in a plaza near a 24 hour fitness and next to subway so they get traffic of all sorts but definitely worth the trip. Recommend the "Frosty Strawberry Milk Tea with boba " The tea hits different in a great way!! FYI they own the Sushi spot a few spots down in the plaza so bring your receipt from R&B for a discount.

I stopped in this R&B to have a Brown Sugar Milk to only to learn that they do not make one. The very nice young lady recommended I try their brow rice milk tea because it was suggested that it was somewhat similar. I thought it was okay, and sadly to say it was not reminiscent of a brown sugar milk tea. In fact, it had a slightly bitter after taste that settled on the palate for a while. I missed that roasted brown sugar flavor. The place is nice and offers a good amount of comfortable seating. Service was nice too.

First discovered the R&B chain at the location in Kearny Mesa before it closed, where I absolutely fell in love with their Stormies and their mango matcha drink. I got the strawberry stormy here and I have to admit that their stormy series tend to be hit or miss in terms of the quality. In the past I've ordered some stormies that are so smooth and flavorful and delicious, but recently I feel like their Stormies are quite icy. The strawberry stormy is a gorgeous drink but there were some sizable ice chunks in there that really made me feel like I was drinking shaved ice from a straw. I am not sure if it is due to the sugar adjustment (I ordered at 50%) or maybe not blending the drink for long enough? I also felt like the ratio of boba to the drink volume was too small (e.g. by the time I was around halfway done with the drink, most of the boba was gone). Take this rating with a grain of salt though since I've primarily ordered their Stormies but would be open to giving their other series (e.g. milk tea or fruit tea) a try. Also the store itself is new and I love the vibes which are very modern, cute, with some anime references! Clean bathroom and plentiful parking in a strip mall.

Really excited about R&B opening here. Lots of parking in the plaza. We ordered roasted oolong milk tea with boba and the tea flavor was good but the boba was clumped together and on the harder side of chewy. Will give them another shot since it's closer to them opening in this location.

Went to their grand opening! So excited that a boba shop opened near my house. Dangerous but worth! Now I don't have to drive 20-25 mins to Convoy to get decent boba drinks. The layout is simple and sleek. And the Keanu Reeves royalty pic on the wall love it! Service is great and friendly! I tried out their Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba and their Roasted Oolong Tea with Salted Cheese Cream on top with Grass Jelly. (You can change the sugar level and ice level if you like, I prefer mine half for both.) Both delicious! I'm happy that the drink actually tastes like strong tea and not watered down or being heavy on the creamer/milk. The boba balls aka tapioca balls aka tapioca pearls were soft and chewy consistency. None of that hard chew that exhausts your jaw or the super sized bobas that is soggy because it was left out and soaked in the honey brown sugar too long that it disintegrates. The cheese cream pairs well with the plain tea. It gives it a light milky creamy taste, you get the tea flavor and the hint of sweet and savory. The grass jelly is earthy the way I like it and soft. Will come again to try other drinks!

I'm glad to see a new Tea shop open in this area. All the drinks I ordered were good! As with any other shop, you can adjust the level of sweetness and ice that you want. The staff was friendly and accommodating, I ordered like 3 different times. My husband wanted the dragonfruit mango tea, but they were out so he got lychee tea, it was good even though they were out of aloe as well. Plenty of parking spaces available in this plaza. Come on by and grab a drink!

I was a big fan of the convoy location and sad to hear they weren't reopening but when I found out they had this location I immediately came over. The place is cute (darker than the other location but quirky art and pop-y stuff. Played nice mix of music like black pink and kc and jojo) and the service was very friendly but the drinks took like, a half hour or so. There were several parties ahead of us waiting and another person after, and you could tell they had been waiting a while. I hope they can improve that... but the menu is great and I like the flavor of their drinks. My daughter loved her horchata boba and I liked my strawberry milk with cheese topping (like strawberry cheesecake). I am such a sucker for their cheese topping! The horchata milk tea was tasty too; my husband thought the straight horchata was better but I only tried the horchata milk tea. The boba texture was a bit off to me...maybe not fresh enough, or overcooked? Wasn't as smooth and chewy as the convoy location had. This place is not cheap, especially with all the add ons I like to get, but I will be back. I love all the caffeine free options for my kid, though it's too bad they don't sell smaller sizes. The deal where if you show the receipt from sei sushi next door you get 10% off, and vice versa, is clever and makes it tempting to do a trip out for both. Definitely would help sell it to my husband if they were faster though. Since we ended up waiting so long for the drinks to come out it made it less of a convenient trip. We called in a sushi order, then went to grab boba. Ordered the drinks, waited, got the sushi, then waited and walked around and waited in the shop some more. The guy who rang us up and was making drinks in the back too was super nice though and even gave us the extra drink from my order in a second cup. I had never seen that before. Very nice of him. Oh, and they have a screen up saying which orders are ready and which are in progress which is such a great idea! I wish more places did that. Overall, happy to have an R&B so close to me even if the execution isn't quite the same as the old location. Menu has new items we like.

Stopped by during the BOGO grand opening special this week and was so pleasantly impressed with my drink and the service! There was a 20 minute wait but to be fair, they told us this even before we ordered and mentioned they had a lot of orders and were training new staff so totally understandable! I got the oreo chocolate milk tea with boba and if you're a chocolate lover like me, this is the drink for you! There's crushed oreo crumbles on top of the drink and it's absolutely delicious. The service was great, they gave solid recommendations and know their menu well. Tons of parking in the huge parking lot. Great location!

My husband and I had this delivered we love the tea definitely get the Brazilian lemonade if you have trouble going to the bathroom because that will help you out but my all time favorite so far from this place is the Hawaiian green tea and the cups are cute

The milk tea and grass jelly were delicious! Just like in Taiwan. The parking was easy and there seemed to be space to sit down easily.

I love their drink options! The cute bear hat tops pop off for the slush drinks, so I would ask for a regular sealed top.

The cheeeeese is soooo goood. I can't stop ordering it. I've had it like three times this week.

R&B was our favorite boba in San Diego before the Convoy branch closed down (so sad). We were excited to see a new location pop up in San Carlos and decided to make the drive even though it's a little far. The reviews looked inconsistent when they first opened but when we went today, it did not disappoint! Both the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and Jasmine Milk Tea tasted as good as we remembered. The boba was perfectly cooked, not too hard or mushy. Happy day!

So happy there's an R&B nearby! I can't get enough or their Mango Stormy and Brown Sugar Boba Milk. Super cute spot; love the boba-inspired art. Parking can be a pain at certain times, since the gym is in the same plaza, but R&B is worth circling around. They give a 10% discount at their sister restaurant, Sei Sushi, which is only a few doors down, if you present your R&B receipt. Definitely not a big fan of Sei Sushi, but that's a different story.

I just happened upon this place after visiting Aldi. I needed some time to review the menu, so they said I could ring the bell for service or use the self serve kiosk. I went ahead and used the kiosk-easy peasy. My drink was excellent. I think it was a kumquat lemon green tea add aloe. I love that I can control the amount of sugar and ice, etc. I will definitely be back. Cute place, yummy tea and a good variety on the menu that I'd like to explore!

Two words to sum up the experience: just average. I know it's pretty harsh for a new coming business, but it's just my honest opinion. The mango stormy was mediocre and tasted mostly like milk. There was barely any hint of mango. The shop looked absolutely beautiful and had a great atmosphere. The workers there were friendly and easygoing. Overall, will only come back to try a recommended ingredient or if another sale is occurring. Otherwise, there's a lot of competition for boba in San Diego and this location will have to step up their drinks to continue having a line.

Cute place. Nice vibe. Nice variety of drinks on menu. Greeted by a friendly female. I preordered online because parking is not the best. I went in the evening close to 7 pm. My mango stormy was amazing. Great flavor, made to perfection. The light sugar w as just the right amount I was looking for. Nice fresh fruit on top was yummy. A must try. Can't wait to try a new drink on my next visit

If you want high quality boba tea, this is the place. The ambiance is very clean and has a minimalistic feel. The people here are nice and very personable. I highly recommend the fruit teas. The teas are consistently brewed and flavor is great! Another great benefit of this place is if you take the receipt a couple stores down to Sei Sushi, you get a discount! I believe R&B also gives discounts to Sei Sushi receipts as well!

The boba here is pretty good. The inside is clean and the bathrooms are as well. The worker was nice. They have non dairy options which was great. I got the chocolate oreo stormy with boba and it was great. A little pricy but all boba is pricy nowadays. The music was calm and pleasant.

TL;DR (+) Taro stormy is good! (-) Boba was super soft (-) Peach yakult is not good (-) Drink wasn't fully blended I was SO excited when I heard that a new R&B was opening ever since the Convoy location closed. But both times I've gone since have been pretty disappointing. The first time I got the peach yakult and it just tasted like bitter water. I think they might have even forgotten to put the sweetness in it. The boba was also extremely soft, meaning that it had been left out for awhile. The second time I got the taro stormy and this one was better. It wasn't fully blended so I kept having to bite the ice but the flavor was much better. I was really excited to live close by to an R&B but realistically, I don't think I will be returning.

Brought my nieces here for their favorite boba. So glad to finally see something good pop up in the neighborhood. Loved all the teas we tried, both new and old classics. The plushes and decor on display were fun to look at while enjoying our boba. Will definitely be coming back often!

Thank goodness there's finally a decent boba place in San Carlos! It is expensive due to inflation but delicious and comparable to Convoy pricing and quality. I definitely will be a frequent customer.

Their tea was very bitter and sour, but the good thing about their drinks is that you get a 10% discount at the sushi restaurant next door, which has delightfully great bulgogi fries! Also, each drink recommended by their barista was not good. Don't trust her and just go with your own gut.

I love R&B Tea! So happy they opened up a location more central in San Diego since the Convoy location still isn't open. The menu is similar to all of the other R&B Tea locations. I came in during their grand opening and was greeted by Diana. They were super energetic and a pleasure to speak to. I ordered the Taro Stormy with boba which you can never go wrong with. I recommend taking the sweetness down to half because the drinks are naturally very sweet. The artwork inside of the shop is so beautiful! I love the aesthetics of this location! 100% will be back!

I ordered no ice and my drink had ice in it. So the girl went to the back and took the ice out and this is how much of the XL Hawaiian drink I was given. I told 2 girls - One whom usually is dressed inappropriately with a mini skirt showing her behind and crop top and the other that my order "this is not the usual and it needs to be filled to the line"... they told me "no this is how you get it without the ice and fruit." I literally sat and argued that they better not play with me and my money and that I would def make a post everywhere showing how much of a rip off this place is" as well as not family friendly for the costumes the provocative anime costumes the girls wear.

Good service really helpful and understanding. Listens to customers needs and really attentive even during peak hours.
