The 22 Best Restaurants In Cape Town 2024

"No visit to Khayelitsha is complete without a trip to Rands. Whether you’re on a walking tour or have teamed up with other travelers who are eager to explore, head to this outdoor bar for cheap drinks and local food you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Everyone in the township is at Rands for the first Sunday of the month, though any Saturday or Sunday spent here will be unforgettable. This is the spot to drink Castle Light, eat unbelievable shisa nyama, the Xhosa term for barbecue, and spend hours dancing to afrobeats. " - bri cave

They do a great job creating a VVIP experience. You feel important from the safe parking, to the luxurious transfer shuttles, to the prime seating near the DJs/performers. Coordination fell a little bit short at the end of the night, but I believe that was because it was New Years Eve. The food also wasn’t as good as I remember it being, but it was also extremely full so the kitchen must’ve been under a lot of pressure. The pyro work was outstanding! Rands has one of the best fireworks experiences in the city.

Nice Vibes, friendly people and staff. The kitchen was very slow andkept forgetting to add all items ordered. They took over 90mins to get our order right finally. I don't know how the table situation work

Cool spot. Neighborhood is dangerous so don't hang around outside. Your uber should arrive before you leave. Leave before crowds. Advice is more for people visiting. I was told not to go without a local which makes sense once you see the neighborhood but Rands itself appears pretty safe.

I had so much fun. I was worried at first but you will never say it's in the heart of Khaya, I felt comfortable and safe. Epic experience ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The atmosphere is electrifying and the inside of the venue makes you forget where you are. The drinks bar isn't too expensive and the meat is reasonably priced while the braai duration isn't bad either. All in all, lovely first experience.

Rands Cpt never disappoints, the music, the food, the vibe. It's the place to be if you want to experience the township.

It’s located in a township, so some people may be a bit skeptical to visit. But it’s absolutely worth it! The vibe is amazing, the food/ braai meat is delicious (best I’ve ever had) and affordable, although I had to wait 2 hours to get it because it was packed and their kitchen has no order whatsoever.
