Randy's Donuts Culver City - Review - Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Inglewood’s iconic donut shop has been on an expansion tear over the past few years, and their newest location just landed in Culver City next door to a Chipotle. There’s no giant donut on top of the building, though they do have a small replica stuck to the wall, and you can expect the same classic array of donuts like maple bars, glazed old-fashioneds, and chocolate twists. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Randy’s Donuts is an LA icon for a reason! Their donuts are insanely fresh, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The classic glazed melts in your mouth, and the variety of unique flavors keeps you coming back for more. The energy is always buzzing, and the staff makes you feel like part of the tradition. Totally worth the hype and every bite!

These donuts were not good. Purchased 5 and the first glazed twist we bit into tasted like grease. The plain donut was stale. Donuts should not taste like grease. Mom and pop shops around LA never taste this bad. Maybe they were old donuts? I do not recommend. The staff members were nice.

I finally had an awesome experience at the Culver city location this morning. The new girl Savannah brightened my day when she asked me "What does your bag of happiness look like this morning?" Not only was she friendly, her customer service was excellent and her knowledge about the difference between a cake and yeast donuts was impressive. Thank you Savannah for an amazing Randy's Donuts experience. 🥰

The people working here are not friendly at all. It’s a donut shop. People want to feel good and happy buying $3 donuts. Such a joke to me. Got to another Randy’s location or Primos down the street they’re super friendly.

I don’t really do reviews, I usually just tip and go, but I HAVE to say something about this Randy’s in LA I went to a few days ago. There was this short girl with a head wrap working by herself and her energy was just top notch. She was funny, super sweet to eveyone, and just had the best vibe. There were like 3 other people there and she was doing everything: boxing up huge donut orders, making drinks, ringing everyone up, cleaning AND still laughing and talking to everyone like it was nothing. You could tell she’s been working there for a hot min cause she had everything down to a science. It was mad humid in there too, I would’ve been complaining and in a crappy mood but nah, she was just full of good energy the whole time. If she’s not the manager already, she needs a raise asap. 1000000/10 service she crushed it 🙌🙌🙌

I have purchased from here before and staff has always been friendly. Today that was not the case, it was a tall hispanic guy with grey sweatshirt and grey hat, the moment I walked in he didn't even greet me. I ordered a jalapeños ham and cheese croissant (instead he gave me just a ham and cheese one), he said all strawberry based beverages or anything strawberry weren't available when the African American coworker who was helping the customers after me asked if they wanted any strawberry toppings....that's just poor customer service from that one guy... Will not come to this location again!

There are two donuts I get on different days. Chocolate iced Bavarian cream long donut. The best of the best. 2nd: The Bear Claw. Always take your time eating this one. Cut it in five separate pieces and slowly enjoy the combinations of sliced caramelized apples stuffed in a soft sugary covered dough baked to perfection. With some milk or hot chocolate, even coffee, or by itself. It's the one in which the positive day begins.

Yelp
Randy's Donuts is definitely one of those iconic spots you have to try at least once. The giant donut on the roof is hard to miss, and the donuts themselves live up to the hype. They're big, fluffy, and have that classic, old-school donut shop vibe. I've tried a few different flavors and the glazed is a solid favorite sweet, airy, and perfectly chewy. The maple bar and chocolate raised are also worth a try. Sometimes the line can get a bit long, but it usually moves quickly and the staff is friendly. Whether you're grabbing a box to share or just want a quick treat, Randy's delivers that nostalgic donut shop experience.

Yelp
This is my second visit, and there's room for improvement. My daughter and I picked up donuts and coffee today, and it's not quite there yet. The donuts were tough and chewy (I'm guessing this is what people talk about when the dough is overworked), and the flavor was closer to molasses than cinnamon sugar, very dark flavor. We also ordered basic coffees, which were watered down. I love Randy's, but the quality control at this location is not quite there yet for basic stuff.

Yelp
Customer service was great! I didn't catch his name but he was super patient while I was deciding on what I wanted. However, I'm not happy about the visible fruit flies on their donuts. I can't make myself come back here after that.

Yelp
I'm an Angeleno and never had a Randy's donut so I had to come to their Grand Opening in Culver City! I've driven by their giant Donut location in Inglewood many times so eventually I had to try it someday and what great way to try it in my backyard! Service was quick and friendly! All sorts of donuts here, from traditional to unique flavors/toppings! They offered a free glazed raised donut from 6am to 12pm! Located in a small shopping plaza between Chipotle and Qwenvh! Parking can be limited and tricky but available in the lot and nearby street parking, and residential!

Yelp
If you're a donut lover, and you're in LA or close by one of Randy's locations, these donuts are worth the calories and the gluten exposure. Just take some enzymes and enjoy. there's not one thing they make that isn't fabulous. Service is exceptional, but it's not a place to sit down and eat a doughnut at. Pick it up and take it home or to wherever you want to enjoy your tasty treats.

Yelp
Shout Out to employees Xander and Raul. They made our 1st experience awesome. They gave us a bunch of free mini donuts to try too. We can't wait to visit again when we are in town.

Yelp
Excited that Randy's has a location in Culver City. Still enjoy the original location, but this one has the same great donuts. Smaller walk up store with easy parking and around a lot of great restaurants. We were on our way east of the 405 to look at Christmas lights, so picked up a little sugar rush fuel for the drive. The donuts were the highlight of the night. Our favorites are the Nutella, crumb cake and apple fritter.

Yelp
I would like to recognize Paige as an amazing employee here, she was so kind and generous and served us with a smile on her face! She gave us an arrangement of her favorite donuts and all were fantastic. Thank you!

Yelp
SHOUTOUT TO Xander! (Or Zander?) I went with my little sister and they were out of the donuts she wanted. Xander, who was at the front, went out of his way and went to the back to make her a fresh batch of the type she wanted! We used to be diehard fans for Primos Donuts, but they've been going down in quality, and this solidified Randy's as our new go to! Amazing service and great donuts!

Yelp
Donuts are great but I went in the other day and it was so hot in the building! I'm leaving this review because I'm worried about working conditions for people behind the counter. Hopefully they'll get AC for summer because it seems not pleasant.

Yelp
Terrible service here! There was a new hire that was sweet and trying to be helpful but needed assistance which was understandable. I had no problem with that, however the rest of the staff including the manager were terrible. Charlie was dismissive and rude to not only me as a customer but also to the new hire that just needed a little help. I didn't catch the other workers name but he was also just as nasty and rude to his coworker. She was sweet and trying to be helpful and honestly looked scared to ask for help. This looks like the worst working environment ever. Let's switch back to how dismissive Charlie was to me as a customer because I simply asked the price of a dozen donuts and he didn't even stop to explain anything. Apparently there are different prices depending on which donuts you pick which was not explained to me. Terrible terrible terrible both men clearly tried to belittle this poor girl when she was clearly brand new.

Yelp
One star is for the friendly staff. I was initially excited to see Randy's Donuts open nearby, as I never previously had an opportunity to try them. I was excited, all the more, when I first walked into the shop to see they made a lemon old-fashioned. Unfortunately, however, there was only one left, but it was broken. I would have bought it, for a discounted price, but none was offered. So I figured I'd return to buy a full one. That was not to be the case. I have returned, again, and again, and again. I've been going there almost daily for a couple weeks now. It seems like that's the only empty row (column?) in the display case, every time I'm there. The other donuts look overcooked (i.e. dark, hard and tough), especially the chocolate old-fashioned. If and when I feel the desperate craving for a donut, I might try a different variety but, for now, they just don't look all that appealing.

Yelp
I am very disappointed today. I went in to get 3 donuts. No one was in the store. I thought to myself, I don't need to double check the order, how can they mess up 3 donuts. Sure enough, I get home and I didn't get my bacon maple donut. It was just a maple donut, no bacon. I couldn't believe it. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Even if it's one

Yelp
Employees are extremely helpful and nice super patient. My grandmother came in and they walked her through the whole ordering process. Truly deserving of 5 stars

Yelp
Tiny cozy shop with the friendliest workers and great selection of donuts. Love that they have mochi donuts, so hard to find three days. Have yet to try their coffee and boba but it's next on my list! Great addition to the Culver City neighborhood.
