I've been to the iconic donut in the sky on Manchester more times than I can count, but this was my first time to the location in Torrance. In general, I already know that I enjoy their donuts, but hey, every location is different, plus they've got new items on the menu.
There's plenty of parking here in Torrance and much easier to get in and out of; no drive-through like on Manchester, but does have an indoor service counter as opposed to the outside walk-up only.
Not sure if they had new staff, but the gal helping me didn't understand the names of everything I was asking for (even though I was using item names from their own website) - fortunately there were two other gals working, and they quickly stepped in.
I was little disappointed that they didn't have all items available. It was midday (~12:30) on a weekend and they are still open through the evening.
Glazed Raised - always a basic go-to, and it was good. Very tall. They also have something called Texas Glazed, which I assume is a super sized version of the Glazed Raised and I was curious to its size, but they were out.
Glazed Old Fashioned - very good - 'crispy' or is it 'crunchy'(?) in all the right places with a good amount of glaze for it to be sweet, but not overly so.
Cake Donut with Chocolate Icing - good donut, and good chocolate icing that didn't get all melty and gooey.
They don't have a Boston Cream, but do have a Long John filled with cream, so the same, but different shape. This sucker was a full meal unto itself. Tasty and hefty.
Cinnamon Roll - pleasantly sweet and flavorful
Plain Croissant - very light in color, but since I reheated it in a toaster-oven, it was quite nice. Not super rich, but still a good croissant.
Ham and cheese croissant - sold out (jalapeno ham also sold out)
Glazed Crondy (their donut/croissant) - sold out (chocolate crondy also sold out)
French donut - disappointed that French donuts seem to have gone off the menu
