Rang Dong is an awesome spot if you're looking for affordable grub! One dish you absolutely have to try is their Bo Kho, it is incredibly yummy. This beef stew is packed with flavor, thanks to a slow-cooked broth loaded with spices like cinnamon, star anise, and lemongrass. It’s rich, savory, and just the right amount of spicy. The beef is super tender, practically melting in your mouth, and the broth is so fragrant it’ll have you hooked from the first bite. They serve it with either warm baguette slices or noodles ( had mine with noodles ), making it the perfect hearty meal. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything just tastes fresh and well-balanced. On top of the great food, the vibe at Rang Dong is cozy and welcoming, it is definitely a small mom and pop business, The staff is super friendly and attentive. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a laid-back dinner with friends, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese, Rang Dong and their Bo Kho are totally worth checking out!

Haven't eaten at this venue for about 3 and a half years. I was happy to see it was still open. I came here for the PHO. As 3 and a half years ago it had the same great taste. Price increased but that was expected. I will continue to come here to this small venue everytime I come visit.

$10 for the grilled pork banh mi, incredible bread! Vegetables didn't taste very pickled. our server was so nice :)

Was in the area and I was so cold and needed a hot meal. I ended up ordering the springs rolls without pork, and it was you know the basic. They didn't clean the end trails well, and the rolls were quite small (btw there were 4 pieces, which is 2 rolls cut in half) . The peanut sauce was watered down & lacking flavor. Then I ordered the beef stew with the rice noodles, and it was inedible to me with a slight strange bitter flavor that was unpalettable to me. The beef was cooked till tenderness, but the overall flavor was off. I can see it being a good dish for someone who has a baby palette because it was bland and bitter. Service was smooth and nice. Vegetables served with the food was washed well and fresh. I can't really recommend this place because as a vietnamese woman raised in a viet home the flavor lacked for me, and the prices are quite high. This could be an intro restaurant for someone who's afraid of flavor cause it's a safe bland flavor. The bill was 35 for a drink, fresh spring rolls, and a bowl of bitter beef stew that i couldn't eat. They said they must've put too much curry seasoning in the stew. My words of wisdom for the cooks is- Balance is key when cooking. Btw i left with my taste buds unhappy and still hungry! Sick a huge disappointment 😞 Eat at your own risk

I almost gave up on Vietnamese food on the island. So many places with terrible food. Not fresh, not good quality. This little place is absolutely perfect. Good prices, good quality, good serving sizes and a very nice staff working here. We felt very welcomed right away and well taken care of. We sat in the window and ate like time didn't exist. What.a wonderful experience. And they have a parking lot :)

After attending Saturday Mass with a friend, we decided to join a couple of ladies that go to Rang Dong's often. It was only a block away from Central Avenue and Webster. The vegetables were fresh and the soup broth was great, however the chicken was over cooked. I was in love with the fresh vegetables. I would go again to try something different next time.

Google
Not a big fan of this place. Everything was expensive from their pho to banh mi and iced coffee. Pictures online showed phin filters, but I saw they were already premade waiting to be filled with ice. $7 is definitely steep for iced coffee. The meat wasn't high quality either and the overall flavor profile seemed bland. Not the best but certainly not the worst place.

Google
I’ve had a few meals here and think it’s a decently priced place with tasty food. The shop owners are also really friendly. I recommend the banh mis as they are flavorful and good value! The last time I went my friend and I had the speciality soups which honestly were just okay. Nice and warming but the flavors weren’t as punchy as we thought they should be. I’ll be back for banh mis and to try the pho. Good place to grab a snack or get some warm soup on a cold or rainy day.

Yelp
I wish a took a photo of my bun Bo hue! It was so good and deliciously beautiful. Perfect amount of spice, tang, noodles and meats. It's been years since I've been to the one that used to be in Oakland Chinatown and I'm so glad this place remained the same in their recipes and staff. It's at the end of Webster now but worth the drive. Still one of the best pho places around. Prices are very competitive and slightly cheaper than most places.

Yelp
===TL;DR=== - Bun rieu - Bun bo hue ===TMI=== This place is always bustling inside. Looks like they're filled with many locals and regulars. Once you get seated, they're ready to take your order haha. Can't go wrong with any of these 2 noodle soups. Both hearty and soothes your soul. They don't skimp out on toppings and what I love most is that if you order their Vietnamese coffee, it still drips in front of you vs. places that had them premade. They're a good Sunday family spot or honestly, 7 days a week spot (not sure if they're open 7 days a week tho) for quick and cozy fix.

Yelp
Customers a number of times Came with family and friends before Parking lot is shared but no problem finding parking and it's free Resturant is relatively small but quick service Always BBH all the way I do prefer mine to be much spicer but still a great broth

Yelp
I have been at Rang Dong restaurant a few times and they all have been very solid experiences. They serve the typical dishes you'd find at a pho restaurant - variety of pho, vermicelli dishes, rice plates and banh mis. I've only ordered their pho and it has been consistently great. It is very comforting and soothing especially during rainy and cold seasons. Service was also pretty great - friendly staff, walk-in friendly, and quick service. If you're looking for a solid pho/Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda, I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Walked in and made a to go order for 8 people. They are so kind and offered us to sit even though we were take out. We ordered at the register and were given water and a table while we waited. It was very fast service as they made the food fresh. The place had many customers and their service was excellent. The food and drinks we ordered were fresh, delicious and made correctly. We ordered 4 grilled pork Bahn mi sandwiches that had fresh bread and plenty of food inside and good flavor. Then 2 orders of beef pho that was fresh with the meat and all things put on the side since it was to go. The veggies and toppings were plentiful and fresh as well (including packs of plum sauce and sirracha). We also ordered fired egg rolls (looked delish but was too full to try) as well as 2 Vietnamese teas and a Vietnamese coffee. All were so flavorful and so good! Highly recommend.

Yelp
WHEN: Mon @6pm After a weekend of rich-eating food, I wanted something light and soupy. So we came here for the first time to give it a try. Definitely a mom and pops kind of feel where it's a pretty small restaurant. Looks like it used to be a deli shop. It's located where it's a shared parking lot so there's plenty of free parking. Here's what I tried: #52 HU TIEU CHAY - $15.95 Veggie Soup w/RIce Noodles, Tofu and Mixed Vegetables. The mixed vegetables was Broccoli, Bok Choy, and Carrots. It's honestly weird to have noodle soup with broccoli. But hey I wanted vegetables and I got it. What I should have done was just request this be served in Chicken Broth for some protein since I"m not a vegetarian. It was good for a vegan dish. #9 PHO TAI & NAM - $15.95 Rare Steak + Well Done Flank. My partner ordered this and I thought was pretty good. I'd come back and try their other items.

Yelp
I had it again in alameda location and it was pretty good. I think this review was for Oakland location. I had better bun rieu before but this one is decent and satisfies your craving...
google avatar

Francois T.

Yelp
First time here after hearing about this place several times. Overall the banh mi sandwiches were decent: the bread was nice, fluffy and hot Minimal pickled veggies Minimal pate and mayo Good amount of meat Id come here again to try their pho or rice plates before I give my official YAY or NAY on how I feel about this place. I will say that the thai tea was excellent though.
google avatar

Yelp
Would totally come again! It's starting to get chilly so I really wanted some soup one Monday night, and this place really came through! They seem to specialize in bun rieu and bun bo hue which was so exciting to see bc I don't see many places promote them as much as they do with pho. Long story short, this place is delicious and home-y! Service was also quick and attentive, and the ambiance really felt like a home-y noodle shop. Although the restaurant was a little small, there was plenty of seating indoors. On a Monday night it was packed! THE FOOD: --Bun Bo Hue: 9/10 This was delicious! It was actually spicy which I loved. This particular broth had a stronger shrimp paste taste which was the only reason why I docked off a point. They gave plenty of meat as well. Noodles were also on point. --Bun Rieu: 8/10 This was also delicious! The tomato broth was warming, but again this also had a little bit too strong of a shrimp paste taste (which is a personal preference). --Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls: 10/10 Can't go wrong with this. Peanut sauce was amazing, ingredients were fresh. Overall I would come back again!

Yelp
Solid spot for Vietnamese in Alameda. It doesn't have frills, the interior feels more homey than trendy, but it's family owned and that's a plus for me. The food was solid, would come back to try other things on the menu.

Leona F.

Yelp
I dont even consider myself a huge Pho person but the pho here was healing and comforting. I ordered online and didn't have to wait to pickup my order. I like the serving size and customer service.
google avatar

Billy L.

Yelp
Being Vietnamese, I've had excellent food in Vietnam and San Jose. I was planning on buying a home in Alameda, so I wanted to try all the Vietnamese restaurants there. I saw that many people liked Rang Dong on Reddit, so I knew I had to try it. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Their Vietnamese food here is very underwhelming. It is more Americanized Vietnamese food. The broth is lackluster. They barely have any toppings in the soup. If you want good Bun Rieu, go to Da Nang Quan or Pho King in Oakland. Many people like this place because of their customer service. The people who work here are very lovely and sweet.
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
Bun Bo hue is one of my 2 go to orders when I'm craving Vietnamese noodles. The noodles here carry the soup flavor well, and I like the variety of meats included. The soup had nice rich flavor and the spicy level was just right for someone with mild-medium tolerance. The portion size was perfect for me, but for someone with a larger appetite may be on the smaller side. Service was quick, and the interior is nice and simple.
google avatar

Yelp
I have picked up bahn mi to go from here many time, but recently ate in for the first time for lunch. Ambiance is what you'd expect for a Vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall. That said, my pho was pretty good, and the staff there are extremely nice, so I'll likely be back. They have one of the better bahn mi on the island, for when you don't want to drive over to International Boulevard in Oakland for the good stuff. I particularly like the grilled pork in their sandwiches--it is nice and charred.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Small local family run business. #4 BI CUON (2 Rolls); shredded pork rolls - Fresh and done well. My daughter would have preferred the peanut sauce (the sauce that the shrimp fresh rolls usually comes with) rather than the fish sauce we got. #20 BUN RIEU; tomato soup with pasted shrimp, pork rib, tofu & vermicelli noodles - My wife said it was just okay. I tasted it also and could have used more seasoning. # 33. BUN THIT NUONG, CHA GIO; vermicelli with grilled pork & egg rolls - Probably the best dish of the 3. And with generous portions. My daughter brought half of this home. Whereas both my wife and I finished our entrees (remember we are light eaters). #59 COM TAM SUON, CHA, TAU HU KY; broken rice with pork chop, egg cake & shrimp cake - My dish and it was good. I have had better though. The rice could have had more "seasoning," and the pork chop had some very burnt pieces to it, but this is normal for a hot grilled item. And I have had some amazing shrimp cakes in the past. Maybe a little unfair to judge, but I compared them to others...? Atmosphere - This replaced a few businesses but the decor is still left from the Little Caesars that used to be here. The tile work, counter and even hood were a blast from the past. Not sure if the AC was broken, but that small front door fan blowing back and forth was a distraction. I am glad the owner moved it slightly away, but I was still not comfortable while trying to eat. Open 6 days a week from 11am to 8:30pm, closed Thursdays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - 5 stars, both the wife and husband team were good. Very attentive. Price - $70 + tip; expensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2006. Wow, has it been that long since the LC left this plaza?

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and stopped in. I had the rice plate. It was pretty authentic. The baked egg cake was spot on like my mom's. Service was friendly too.

Yelp
Date: 9/17/2023 Time: 2:00 PM 68° Sunny I have always wanted to stop in to dine here for lunch. This location used to be Pho Baguette. However, I have been to the original Rang Dong in Oakland Chinatown on Webster Street a few times with my sister several years ago. Unfortunately, that restaurant and other businesses caught on fire. One of my friends asked me for a recommendation for a bowl of pho here in town. Without even dining here, I recommended Rang Dong based on my experience at the one in Oakland Chinatown. The employees are pleasant and helpful. It didn't take me long to decide what I wanted for lunch. Oh, how I miss their #33, bun vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls. It is still delicious and indeed very scrumptious. Service is quick, which is great. The hostess is gracious. The place is clean, and it is casual, comfy and relaxing with gentle music playing over their sound system. Future visits? Yes, and it is within walking distance from home.

Yelp
A great Vietnamese restaurant to try out! I was washing my clothes nearby, was hungry and wanted something light, filling and tasty. Decided to give Rang Dong a try and it was so good! I'm full and don't feel heavy and food was fresh! The service was excellent and food came out super quick! I will be back!

Yelp
This place gets 5-stars (for Alameda). Super friendly staff. I've never been thanked more for ordering than at this place. Super fast. If you place order by phone, it will definitely be ready in 10 minutes. Pho noodle soup is delicious and warm. Try the rare beef The special beef stews are hearty and flavorful. The one thing I don't like is that the eggroll, but they only come with two eggrolls for $8. The fresh rolls are a better deal in terms of volume/weight ($8.50). Love the fresh pork roll. Unique and extra savory.

Yelp
This small family owned restaurant used to be in Oakland Chinatown and moved to their strip-mall location in Alameda awhile ago. Plenty of safe parking in this mall located at the end of Webster. The restaurant is nice and bright and can accommodate around thirty people. I ordered the Beef Pho (brisket, tendon, flank) while the wife ordered the bun (shredded pork, grilled pork, egg roll). The bowls were a bit smaller than what we get at other Vietnamese restaurants although the tastes were on point. Pho broth was clean and not oily with good flavor while noodles and meat were proportionally smaller than other Pho shops. Same goes for the Bun. Service was excellent, facility was bright and clean, and free strip mall parking is a big plus. Good place to go to fill your Vietnamese food craving if you're in the West End area of Alameda. Portions are a little smaller than Oakland Pho joints but are on par for Alameda.

Yelp
Great local Vietnamese shop to get your noodle fix in! My husband ordered the Mi Bo Kho and I ordered the Phở Tái Bo Vien. The broth of the Mi Bo Kho was a bit sweet in our opinion, but the noodles were cooked well and plenty of beef. I wish there were more noodles in my Phở Tái Bo Vien, but there was still ample broth and meat. The service was very kind! We came in 30 minutes before they closed, and they treated us with kindness and did not rush us.

Yelp
I drove by here with my bf and notice no one was in the restaurant. It was empty and the owners were just sitting and waiting for customers. We contemplated on going in but I'm so glad we did. The owners both stood up, greeted us and when we were ready, immediately came to take our order. Most places charges hot tea $2 per person, not this place. We get a big pot of hot tea, please keep it this way! I ordered Vermicelli bowl with pork and shrimp, My bf ordered the rice plates with pork chop and egg pancake and comes with a soup. My dish was so refreshing with the daikon, carrots and lettuce. The fish sauce tied it all together. My bf enjoyed his dish as well, he scarfed down within 5 mins! The soup was sweet and hot, perfect for the weather! Definitely will be back to try their pho!

Gervaze J.

Yelp
Superb. Of the soup (or pho), ay, more directly, the broth, I say this. How authentic! 'Wonderful. 'Never mind about the methods used... As well, I delight in the staff -- the ambiance of a restaurant proves as equally an important aspect as that of enjoying the food itself we might agree. Indeed, theirs is simple, in point, no affectations, nothing fancy -- ay, nourishing...

Yelp
It's a cold December day so I craved a hot bowl of soup! Rang Dong restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant on Alameda. I decided to try out this place as the yelpers raved about it! Yes, Rang Dong restaurant met my expectations and my dining experience here was great! The best part is the restaurant was open between lunch and dinner time. Getting a table and be seated around 3pm were awesome! We ordered the fried spring rolls and the bun rieu, which is the crab noodle soup. It served hot and tasty with all the fresh vegetables! The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. The servers are nice and friendly. Our iced Vietnamese coffee came soon after but I was a bit disappointed that it was prepared earlier and was not dripping at our table. Overall, everything is awesome! Highly recommend it if you are craving for authentic Vietnamese meal!

Yelp
My gf and I go here often. Been coming for the past 3 years but the prices have gradually gone up but I think that's normal due to cost of living. But regardless the food is great
google avatar

Nadav M.

Yelp
Came here because of the weather. My number 15 was flavourful but was a bit powerful in flavour. Not sure if it was the beef or the anise. It was more of the spice broth flavour that was a little off. The service was a bit bland this time but they were very nice. Prices has gone up in a short period of time therefore higher cost for food and utensils are being controlled due to high cost. The seating of the dining room seemed a bit more packed than last time, my spoons and chopsticks would fall to the floor as people would walk by. The tea keeps being amazing.
google avatar

Vi T.

Yelp
Stopped in due to convenience (location) factor and that they are located in a small shopping plaza with parking spots at the end of Webster St and Central Ave. Overall their food is not bad. Had the stewed beef wirh egg noodle soup and my counterpart had the grilled chicken banh mi. The grilled chicken had a nice smoky char flavor. The beef stew was fragrant but I felt it was a bit watered down, was expecting more of a thicker braise/slurry which is typical of this dish. Of all the dishes I've tried here I think their non-noodle soup dishes fare better in taste.
google avatar

Grazie E.

Yelp
First time coming here and omg this place is delicious. No need to add extra sauces in the broth soup! I think I found my new pho spot in Alameda after all these years!!! I can't say more this place hits the spot! I gotta check out this bill tho, they probably charging me heck for the extras I added on top of my regular soup order....
google avatar

Angelina Ariana A.

Yelp
I've gone here many many times throughout the past 3 years and this is my absolute favorite pho spot on the island! Honestly, I'm giving 5 stars alone just for how sweet the staff are! We live down the street and we always have the same woman who takes our order and helps us out. Not sure if she's the owner, but she is ALWAYS such a sweetheart. She recognizes my husband whenever he comes by and she always thanks him for continuously supporting their business. As for the food, my usual is the pho tai chin with extra noodles. Super tasty, good quality meat, and savory broth. Generous veggies and portions, always fresh. I love supporting small businesses and now that winter season is rapidly approaching, it's that time of year where I wish they get all the business and customers they deserve!

Yelp
Amazing good fresh fast. And delicious I've never eaten inside but the take out is great and the he service is excellent

Yelp
I was visiting family and friends in Alameda, decided to try this restaurant because there is a parking lot and did not have to find street parking. Got the pho with rare beef and tendon. Pho was delicious, broth was flavorful. Service was good.

Yelp
This is my favorite place ! The food is delicious, fresh and healthy . The owners are both wonderful and beautiful people inside and out . Thank you for wonderful service . will come again definitely:)

Yelp
We came in search of good soup to chase away chest congestion and found it with good flavor, good service, kindness and very fair prices not to mention easy parking in a pleasant area. Thank you! My friend and I will be back!

Yelp
Ordered the egg rolls and banh mi. Egg rolls were not only super expensive (2 for $7), they were yucky. Soggy in the middle and barely anything in it. The banh mi was decent, but overall it was a mediocre experience.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
My go-to, favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda. Pho, rice plates, vermicelli, check check check. Decent price point. Pro-tip: The vermicelli bowl with pork and fried egg rolls has the same serving size of egg rolls as the egg roll appetizer. The owners and staff are sooooo nice, literally the nicest people I've ever seen at a Vietnamese restaurant. Those who frequent Vietnamese restaurants know the staff are usually pretty short/curt. On top of the food being good, their friendliness makes me want to go more frequently. They're located in a plaza with a parking lot so another plus there.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, and I know Bun with Sliced Pork & Shrimp very well...and I love, love, love Pho' of any kind, ordering the Bun Bo Hue...and I could not have been more sorry. That said, this was the poorest flavor of both that I've ever tried...and I regret saying that, but I'm completely honest and very disappointed. Overcooked, Bland-Bland-Bland. The pickup service was very nice, with hardly anyone in the restaurant at 6:30 PM on a Sunday I should have taken a clue, and the price was very poor for two items at $40 +/-. I wish them well, and maybe they'll figure it out. Be careful with any reviews that have a particular word-count, as there's few consequences for fake reviews...and Yelp! is notorious for that. (Look around the web if you doubt me...) Best of luck, -- CMcD

Yelp
Good Vietnamese food in a safe plaza is pretty good. The servers are attentive and food is hot and traditional. I like my buhn mi bread not heated. I like the baguette cold as crunchy. But for soups and vermicelli bbq yes yes
google avatar

Yelp
This got to be one of best place for Bun Bo Hue in the Bay Area. It was very flavorful. There is a kick to the spiciness. You can taste the shrimp paste and pork flavor of the broth. I wished the chili oil was spicier.
google avatar

Hellen N.

Yelp
The servers are always so sweet! I enjoyed bun bo hue, but not the biggest fan of the banh mi.

Yelp
Came today horrible chicken pho, bland broth no chicken flavor, I sent it back and left. Ridiculous learn how to flavor your food lady!!

Yelp
We just started paddling in Alameda so looking for new eats and came here after a cold, wet day spent outside. This restaurant is in the same complex as a bunch of other businesses so while there is a parking lot, it's also a bit chaotic with a lot of large cars trying to fit into compact spots. Very standard pho menu - and food here for my vegan sister as well. I get what I always get - Pho Tai and it came with a generous amount of meat. As my sister put it "every time I looked at you, you were shoveling another piece of meat into your mouth." Service was very friendly and fast and seems like a place with a bunch of regulars!

Jess C.

Yelp
I love this place! Really delicious, fresh food. Always the best, kind and friendly service. Nice and cool temperature and clean inside. A bit pricey, but not too bad. Good parking since they are in the Neptune Plaza. They cook and grill inside but your clothes and hair won't end up smelling like cooking because they have good exhaust and ventilation. I would highly recommended this place!

Yelp
Small Vietnamese restaurant, food is mediocre but very friendly owners and efficient service. Reasonable price. No 8. Pho, Rare steak, well done flank brisket tendon and tripe- very little meat. Very little pho. In fact, you can't even see much of the content when the pho is served because it looks like it's all broth. The broth itself isn't too bad, very standard. Now I have to comment on the veggie plate, it is so small. Only a small amount of bean sprouts and two thinly sliced jalapeño, and a small wedge of lime. I normally use double that amount in my pho. No. 2: Fresh rolls with shrimp & pork served with peanut sauce- the spring rolls are not fresh. The rice paper was dry, the veggies inside is yellowish and even taste slightly bitter. Very disappointed. No 20. bun rieu- a little bland, not much flavor, and also on the smaller portion side. Slightly below average. Ice Vietnamese coffee- traditional Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk. I like that they serve hot water in a teapot so I can actually 'refill' my Vietnamese coffee by making second and third brews. This is my trick on maximizing the coffee. I am a big supporter for small family businesses, so I still recommend trying this restaurant. The owners are very nice and friendly. There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant, so still pretty convenient. I understand that it is a tough time for restaurants and small business, but I still hope they don't skim on portion size and could use fresher ingredients!

Yelp
Huge fan of Rang Dong Restaurant. They are consistent with their flavors and the quality of the food and have good portions that leave you satisfied. My parents first introduced me to Rang Dong as it was one of the few remaining Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup shops within Oakland Chinatown. I had always passed by this restaurant and had noticed how busy it was, but never thought to go in. Well, my parents ordered take out and that was the beginning of my relationship with Rang Dong. My favorite order is their grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls. Not entirely sure how it is during dine-in service, but the take out box is always substantially full. It makes the elevated price of $14.99 worth it. Sadly, they had a fire at the old location that temporarily had put a handful of restaurants out of business. Was very delighted to see, via Yelp (so trusty) that they opened up their location where Pho & Baguettes used to be in Alameda (along Webster). The drive is still worth it.

Yelp
I had my first dining-in experience Friday for lunch. I just had to try the Beef Stew with Egg Noodles in the restaurant, fresh from the kitchen. At 1130am, I was the only one there, and service was quick. They even took the time to show me how the food is presented and how to best enjoy it. Yes, the food is of course, better in the restaurant. The soup is hot and savory, and the noodles have a better texture. Friendly staff and good service. Yelp
I've had a few meals here and think it's a decently priced place with tasty food. The shop owners are also really friendly. I recommend the banh mis as they are flavorful and good value! The last time I went my friend and I had the speciality soups which honestly were just okay. Nice and warming but the flavors weren't as punchy as we thought they should be. I'll be back for banh mis and to try the pho. Good place to grab a snack or get some warm soup on a cold or rainy day.

Yelp
We got an order of a typical pho, bun buo hue, and beef noodle stew to go. The pho was ok! The beef noodle stew was good. The bun buo hue broth was DELICIOUS! I do wonder if it can be extra spicy if we ask ahead of time! Would definitely come to eat, or to go order food! Staff are nice and friendly and the place was packed when I picked up my order.

Yelp
Best pho! Best service! The owners are so helpful and kind. We always feel welcome. Spring Rolls The noodles come with perfect texture. The broth has a good flavor. The vegetables are fresh. The spring rolls are so tasty!

Yelp
The staff here are so dedicated and attentive. (Imo, they're as attentive as waiters in Michelin-starred restaurants, if not more...) Clearly a small family business, you can tell they put their heart and soul into the food. Speaking of the food, the food is SO good. Pho and buns really hit the spot when you're craving Vietnamese food but don't feel like leaving the island. (In fact, it's now our family's go-to Vietnamese spot for dinner so we don't need to worry about crime in Oakland at night.) Their bahn mis are a bit on the bready side, which I REALLY like but some people might not. My guess is that they don't scoop out the center of the roll; eh, more food for me! They are generous with the sandwich fillings (especially the veggies, which a lot of places skimp out on). It's a bit unusual that their bahn mis are served hot, but I can see that being great on a cold winter day. My only regret is not discovering them earlier; I could have been eating here for years... Alas!
