Texas Rangers Fans’ Feedback Led to This New Tex-Mex Restaurant - Eater Dallas

"Arlington’s Texas Live development just debuted a new Tex-Mex restaurant covered with Texas Rangers memorabilia. Rangers Republic is now open at the entertainment district, and according to a press release, the restaurant is “designed by fans for fans.” That means signed batting helmets and more than 50 other Texas Rangers artifacts as decor. The restaurant and sports bar is clearly meant to be a fans headquarters during games and in the off-season as well, with crowd pleasers like nachos and tacos on the menu. Apps range from street-style elote and guacamole to queso fundido, while entrees include brisket tacos, chicken tinga enchiladas, fajitas, and caliente chicken pizza." - Adele Chapin

Not the best experience, but the food was ok. Destiny was our server. She charged me for 2 items we received more than half way through our meals, & I was told I wouldn't be charged. I was never given a bill, just the total. Assuming it'd be correct, I paid. She couldn't print a receipt, so it was emailed. After paying, I realized I was charged for the 2 items, & a 20% tip was added, but not by me. Our total, for 2 people, was $64.75. Based on the service, I determine how much the servers are tipped, & hers would not have been 20%.

Google
Great bar, great food, excellent service. Happy hour is the best deal, we highly recommend the chicken nachos!

Google
The chips are great! 😄 I would call this "bar food". If you have an appetite, I would recommend another spot. Food is okay. Pretty small portions but made to look bigger with an over abundance of veggies. 3 baby shrimps per taco. Not enough chicken in the fajita plate. No sides added to any plates other than chips. You may leave hungry! 😳 Service is pretty slow. Music is loud (obviously the point of this location) so its a little hard to have a conversation across the table. Atmosphere is nice for friends and a night out.

Google
Ate the brisket tacos for lunch right before a Ranger's game. Sat at the bar. Food came out shockingly fast which was great b/c I was pressed for time. The 3 tacos and chips/salsa that came with them were great. Enjoyed the pre-game atmosphere among fellow fans and the great music. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will absolutely go back.

Google
Out of town visit. Service was very slow on a non game day. There were 3 tables. Server brought out entrees. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer and never got them. Drinks took 15 minutes. Food was average and over priced.

Google
genuinely the worst restaurant experience i have ever had. im pretty sure the waiter was pandering towards my dad in hopes he was the one choosing the tip, and she was rude towards my mom and didn't even make eye contact or say more than two words to her. my parents got drinks, a blue moon (which was definitely flat) and an old fashioned that tasted like it had 0 bourbon and was just a cup of dirty dish water. the food? also just as bad. i got some tacos which were meh, and they gave me pickled onions and not caramelized. the burger we got was undercooked and definitely dont get the fry upgrade, not worth it. and somehow, that ended up being $72. id rather pay for mediocre stadium food that i KNOW will be mediocre. also, there was a hair in my dads food!

Google
Sunday brunch mimosas were on point at 20. The ranger republic elote (order off the cob) had great flavor but the corn was not sweet and way over cooked. Great staff and atmosphere. We'll definitely try it again.

Google
The staff made us feel welcomed and important. The food was delicious 😋🤤. We did not have to chase anyone down they checked on us n hooked us up. Love the happy hour special and would live to come back again. They do not mind giving out free smells 😂😂

Yelp
Stopped with the wife and our friends down here. Cane on a weekday at lunchtime. Server had a bit of an attitude. Very blah. Food was quite tasty along with a couple of local beers. I had the Beef Barbacoa tacos with a side of tots. Awesome taste, very tender. Tots were average, local beers slightly above average. The others in my group had the Nashville hot chicken and made such a fuss over it... ya know, I had to beg a bite. Thing was HOT! But in my world spicy is great! Yet it wasnt overly spicy. Had a lot of flavor. I slightly regretted not ordering that Hot Chicken. But really enjoyed the Barbacoa tacos. It was fun watching on huge tv screen. No sports going on.. oh well. Place was fun.

Yelp
If you like being crammed in like sardines, maybe this is your place! If you like waiting in line behind 100 people for a slice of pizza, maybe you'll have fun here. We went in to the "Cowboy Bar" which was pretty empty compared to most of the place, but all the empty booths were "reserved" because they wanted people to pay for them, for bottle service. We stayed for a drink at the bar, then left.

Yelp
Came here the day of a home Dallas Cowboys game. They charge a $10 admission fee, but I think it's worth it, especially postgame when Ubers are $100+ to leave, so at least you have this spot to go back to to hang out until the traffic chills out along with the surge pricing. They have several restaurants and bars throughout the facility. There's even a mechanical bull, which is quite entertaining to watch other people get flung off of. The main room has a massive TV and they put on all of the games. Who needs Sunday Ticket? They have a live band as well. They pretty much got everything so that admission fee is well worth it.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I have so much fun every time I come here! The best nights to come are Saturdays and (game night) Sunday's! Whether you're in Arlington for Football or Baseball, you'll have a blast here! Inside is a bar named PBR where you can ride the electric bull! Each time I've came it had been free, I highly recommend it is a lot of fun!

Yelp
Straight up high ENERGY!! We came rolling in with a large group of the Traveling 12's to catch a game across the way at AT&T Stadium. The vibe, entertainment, and atmosphere was alive and vibrant. Even though we were obviously out shadowed by Dem Cowboys, we had a hoot mixing it up with football fans alike! The food came out promptly, the drinks were flowing, the music and DJ was spinning, and those screens were illuminating the background of a somewhat organized chaos. We ventured all around the area, and ended up in this spot that is outdoors but still undercover. With seating, cornhole activities, swag being sold by Post Malone's crew, and a bar nearby for easy thirst quenching access. We don't have anything like this back home, and I have seen all the negative reviews, but our experience was superb! People dancing on tables, although probably not recommended (lol), but hey... like I said... tons of energy= maybe too much to drink. Anyway, we eventually made our way across the landing and parking lot to experience another first for us. Thank you for a memorable experience! As always, Enjoy and GO HAWKS!!

Yelp
This was a great experience when you're watching the game if you're not attending live! Very much game adjacent if you want to still feel included. It was SUPER packed, but the crowd was fun and everyone was having a great time! So many bars, but the lines are long so if you find a seat stay there because you will lose it. Overall, had a great time watching the game, eating and drinking here. It is also a $10 to attend as well, but I'm not sure if this is a regular fee. The game that was being played live was the Ravens vs Cowboys. I was surprised to see the so many Ravens fans at a home again! It was pretty dope!

Yelp
Great place. Great time. Went with a party of 11 and they were able to easily accommodate in the main middle area. Food was really good. Our waitress had rearing bitch face the whole time we got what we ordered and timely. The onion rings are good. The chicken strips were bomb. The wings were huge and good. Corn bred was a hit. The risotto balls were different but good. All in all it was fun and a great experience.

Yelp
Very cool sports bar. The place had everything you would want in a sports bar venue. There is cool memorabilia, Ranger's decoration, and plentiful Televisions. There are also a lot of cool events that happen at Texas Live! The staff are friendly and the place, including restroom, are clean.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow!!! Is all I can say! This place is huge, and like Texas, do it BIG! Need some place to watch the game?! Come here and come early! Tons of parking right out front! Once you enter, I headed straight for the bar area since I did not have a reservation! You can order anywhere in the facility and bring it back over! We did the pizza, chicken tenders, chicken wings, and nachos! The cowboys won that day, so was LIVE! Great show and dance by the cheer team and tons of room for big parties! Made some connections at the bar and we had a great time vibing out! For sure will be back!

Yelp
Texas Live is worthy of 5 stars for atmosphere, entertainment, food, and drinks. I was part of a large group, "Traveling 12s", there to support our NFL team, Cowboys vs Seahawks. There was so many of us fans that first wanted to tailgate at Texas Live. Man! I was so impressed when I first walked in. Like all things said about Texas, it was BIG. Walking in, I had the vibe of the sporting lounge inside Caesar Palace in Vegas. The Jumbotrons were up and playing the pre game hype, along with the energized music fill the building. The vibe was most excellent, especially for the NFL game experience. We found our group and ordered our food and drinks. I didn't get pictures, but we enjoyed a variety of appetizers. One of my favorites was the brisket nachos. As the inside filled up and got crowed, we moved to the outside patio area. More restaurants and bars. Great view of the AT&T Stadium. As it got closer to game time, the tailgate party got underway with live music, fun fan contests, rallying and prizes. We walked back through inside to get to another outdoor patio area that led to the pathway to the stadium. This area was also massive and more restaurants and bars. A beautiful water fountain with the Stadium as the back drop. We all really enjoyed Texas Live. I even prefer to just stay and watch the games here and not in the stadium. This is a great place to watch any sporting event or to just go hang out.

Yelp
We had appetizers and drinks while exploring around Arlington. Super fun vibe, the server was very friendly. Fun space to hang with friends or the family.

Yelp
The ultimate sports viewing venue with great food choices, best TV's, live entertainment and energetic atmosphere. Excellent service too!
google avatar

Yelp
Understaffed, slow service, and definitely not prepared. Management should be looked at because they're not scheduling people to handle games at all
google avatar

Yelp
The wings at the arena restaurant are fire. Get the honey bee sting wings. I believe that's what they are called.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely the loudest. There is not a seat in this place you could have a conversation. I know it's a bar but whew. The service was barely even there. I waited for 25 minutes for a soft drink. It was just not my cup of tea. With that being said, the burger was delicious! That's all I had. There was no way I'd wait for anything else. I can't imagine trying to get a buzz in this place. lol

Yelp
We had just left the ATT stadium tour and was hoping to have lunch at Troy's but it didn't open till 5pm. So we ate in the commons/bar area. I had a brisket burger with fries. The burger was decent, the outside was a little hard, fries were cold, the onion strings were old... everything seemed a little old. Just don't understand, it wasn't busy, why wouldn't it be hot and fresh? Anyway, they brought us fresh, hot fries. The courtyard is beautiful, hope this was just a one off and the food is a little better.

Matt D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Big screens. Multiple bars. Friendly service. will come back.

Yelp
Enjoyed hanging out with friends at Texas Live before a recent Rangers game. We initially grabbed something to eat from Lockhart Smokehouse, then wandered to the Baseballism Store before ending up at the Miller Tavern for a couple of beers before the game. Now, mind you, I'm of the age where I'm now thinking that having the volume of the music down a bit would probably have been a bit preferable (it wasn't live music, just what they were playing over the sound system)... we all definitely had to amp up our volume to chat with each other; that said, even my naturally introverted-self enjoyed spending a couple hours here between the end of our stadium tour and the gates opening for the Rangers game that night (2 hours before game time for night games & 1.5 hours before the game for day games). While my friends and I - and plenty of others - enjoyed the indoor air conditioning that Texas Live offers (it was about 100 degrees on the day I spent the most time there), there's also various outside space with a music venue area and games like cornhole. If you're hanging inside though, enjoy the ginormous wall of TV screens carrying various sporting events. TL;DR Quality of food options varies, but if you're looking to hang out with fellow sports enthusiasts? Check this place out.

Yelp
If you are a football fan or a sports fan, this is the place for you and your friends. This is especially true if you were unable to score tickets to the actual game. The jumbotron screen in the main room will make you feel like you are sitting on the field with the best seats in the stadium. Wait staff will bring you beer on tap and bar food. On big game nights seating will fill up, so arrive early to score seats. We were there the night of the Cottonbowl. Missouri Tigers college football team was playing and it seemed half the state of Missouri drove down to cheer on their team. Even cheerleaders were there helping the fans get in the spirit. The parking lot was filled with Missouri license plates and tiger tails. The actual game was happening right next door at the AT&T Stadium. The main room had no more seats available, but Texas Live has several restaurants with bars in the same facility. There is a taco bar, BBQ joint, a pizza factory upstairs, and Troy Aikman's burger bar. We headed to the latter which had its own ceiling to floor television screen for everyone to see. In fact, when seated, couples are placed next to each other (not across from one another) so that everyone can watch the game. Troy's had a stage for a live band and there was also an outside venue for watching the game too. The menu is simple. Food comes out hot and fast. The servers are busy but they seem to do a good job of taking care of their customers and refilling drink orders. We ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, which was really the star attraction. We asked for the garlic and parmesan version and think we ended up with the siracha sauce instead. This is Buffalo wings without the chicken. They batter fry cauliflower, and they are delicious! My hubby ordered the pimento cheese burger, but it seemed to be missing pimento cheese, or at least it wasn't discernible to him. I ordered the Texas Heat which looked fabulous with a whole roasted jalapeño crowning the bun. Unfortunately there were none on the sandwich and so it really lacked any heat unless I chomped on the decor. Our meal set us back $70. Neither of us felt it was worth it. The food overall didn't meet our expectations even though the meal was tasty and filling. If you are a sports fan, this place is made for you. You and your friends can camp out here for hours watching the game and getting your drink on.
google avatar

Christie L.

Yelp
Seriously, this is a great venue of indoor/outdoor and lots of choices for food/drinks. It is very loud inside though, do not expect to come in with a family and talk! But, the sports TVs and everything really make it a crowd pleaser when you want to feel like you are at the game without being at the game! Food choices were good and parking was not an issue. Would definitely return.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
You got to come here to watch the Cowboys game. With so many options for food and drinks, you will have a wonderful time. Our party also got lucky and got to hear some past cowboys come speak before the game. If you are in the Arlington area, this spot is a must stop.
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
good enough... :) great energy especially in the central area (shift 4 arena) but don't expect any remarkable eats. service was surprisingly good and very friendly...except for guy fieri's taco joint: horrific service and horrible tacos. sad as we love him/his shows lol.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Perfect spot to watch the game with friends. Huge screens, lots of seating, so many options for food and drinks, and an amazing view of the stadium. I was truly impressed by this place. Also, the food was amazing. The buffalo chicken quesadillas were absolutely delicious, nachos were huge, and the whole family loved the wings. This is a great spot for groups. Just make sure to come early to get a table.
google avatar

Jamie T.

Yelp
Food was alright, nothing special, I would recommend just ordering at Lockhart BBQ and eating there Great for drinks though and great ambiance for watching the game, especially if you don't have a ticket to it!
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Well it's been four (4) years and I have still never heard a thing from this. I am sure you have investigated my issue exhaustively. That is why it has taking you so looong to respond. Sounds just like my dinner I never received? Are you really a restaurant or just place people go to slowly die from starvation? I am pissed no - I am literally shocked that this is how you do business... - Michael 'still waiting'
google avatar

Dalia D.

Yelp
Service was painfully slow. I think we spent over an hour there and about 20/30 mins was spent waiting for drinks, then waiting to order, then waiting for said order. It was an early Saturday afternoon and they didn't seem super busy. It seemed 1 server was in charge of several tables of 6+ people but Jesus it was such a long wait. The food was amazing but not worth the wait times
google avatar

Corey P.

Yelp
I went here for a ranger game. They had a huge TV to watch the game. There were no seats but it was kind of expected. There was free parking but it was 99% full by the time we got there. We got nachos and bbq wings that were cold. They had plenty of bars and it was easy to get a drink. I would come back here to watch the game. It is a fun environment with all the people around also watching the game.
google avatar

Kylie G.

Yelp
We were here for a work party and it was kind of overwhelming. A lot going on and this was a pretty big space. Overall, it was great and didn't feel crowded because there were different areas to go to. Enjoyed it overall.
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
Great open area bar, lots of restaurants in that area to choose from, or just hang out and watch the big screen, in the middle of the facility.
google avatar

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
My son and I stopped here for drinks while waiting to leave for the Cowboys game later. There was a $10 cover, but it was a very fun atmosphere, and we were able to reenter again after the game ended. They had a good beer and drink selection and also a nice menu. I ordered the brisket quesadillas and it was terrible. It was way undercooked, a small amount of brisket, and it tasted like it came out of a box. Will definitely visit again since it was such a fun time.
google avatar

Jim W.

Yelp
Very nice, very interesting place. I was there for the Taco Festival. There is a lot I want to go back and check out.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Terrible. When they first opened it was packed and fun. Now on a game night it's $50 to park, $10 admission and to sit in the live floor with the big tv you have to spend a minimum of $450! So bogus. I can go to the actual game and get pretty decent seats for $500. All the tables are reserved... but no one sitting there... so they can guarantee the table minimums. Don't even get me started on the $15 per beer. They are charging stadium prices with a sub par experience. Save your money and go to Ojos locos or Buffalo Wild Wings. The experience is the same as any bar....but 3xs the price.
google avatar

Dean S.

Yelp
The Rangers and Cowboys don't mind scheduling games on the same day that overlap. Huge crowd and despite the cover charge to get it, this is an interesting game day experience. Lots of drink to be had, of course all over priced. The tv screen setups were nice, although some areas had many screens but the same game on all of them. I didn't get that. My biggest complaint would be the crowd size. Clearly no limiting how crowded it can be in here. Was disappointed in cleaving the Cowboys game, not sure if they intend to funnel the crowd here after but that's where the mass of people walked. Their intent clearly was not to show the Sunday night game because it was on but the sound wasn't. It had turned into a bonafide club scene now. Cool place to watch and pregame but way too crowded.
google avatar

Larry M.

Yelp
This place was amazing, tons of people but that was to be expected. Had a blast drinking and just walking around.

Hayden H.

Yelp
Place sucks. Don't bother. Go to stockyards. Very expensive drinks. Asked for my friends ID he's (25 years old) and declined it since it had a shadow. Asked to call the police. He was given a free drink and asked to leave.
google avatar

Ginger D.

Yelp
Amazing place! Can't wait to go back and spend a lot more time there. Fun atmosphere.

Bailey S.

Yelp
Recently turned 21, was accused of having a fake ID. Called the security and they still couldn't confirm my ID was real. They offered me a free drink but still kicked me out of their bar. Never come here. Worst place ever. Luckily my friend heroically threatened to have the police involved and they bowed down to us. Good place to watch sports though.
google avatar

Brooke R.

Yelp
Perfect fun place to come to enjoy sports! Watched Thursday night football here, had great food, Nashville chicken sandwich is good if you like spicy! Fun atmosphere, great staff, perfect sports bar for sure! Highly recommend coming here for drinks, food and of course SPORTS!!

Yelp
Oh say can you see!!! I love this place!! Tasty bb-w and sexy people. Well, tasty bb-q and people having a good time. Add in 1,00 bars (give or take 990) and what more can you ask for? Buy a house near this place, go here everyday and you will experience what heaven is like until yo6 actually get there.. FYI- you probably won't get t9 heaven you heathen, so go here while you are still alive
google avatar

desiree e.

Yelp
The food here is just okay. I'd recommend eating before you go & for reference I ate at the main bar on the first floor in front of the tv wall.
google avatar

Manuel S.

Yelp
Stopped in with my boys. WOW!! The size of this place is impressive. Something for everyone. Kids to adults. They have many rooms and sports on every tv. Even some fun trivia in between games. Great find if you plan to go to a game in Dallas.

Yelp
Always such a great vibe for date night or with the family! This afternoon was the A&M vs Razorbacks game and we received EXCEPTIONAL service from Fancy! We brought our youngest son who is 7 and she made him feel so special. Could not be more grateful for the experience she provided for us! Thank you Fancy!!
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
What an experience I tell ya you will be treated with courtesy and respect if you come here and if you're lucky enough to be served by Tony and his crew then you will love it.
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
My friends and I have never felt that scared or uncomfortable at a bar as we did at Texas live. The reason: one of the Texas live security guards. He was completely out of control. The first time he screamed in my friends face, the guys at the table next to us had to intervene to get him away from her. The second time he came over, three other security guards chased after him to stop him. While he was screaming, my friends asked the security guards what was his deal and they had no clue?(we are confused if he even really worked there?) he went on a rampage, running to the tables around us to try to fight them. He ended up fighting the other table next to us, including women! Literally he was swinging at them and hitting them. I have never seen someone so aggressively try to fight. He did not look sober either. We ended up sprinting away, climbing over tables, to get away from this man because we were so afraid. I tried to reach out to management by calling and emailing. I wanted to tell them the story in hopes that this man will NEVER work there again and they get control of their security. No one has called me back and all I received by email was a thanks for your complaint. I have the entire thing on video, thinking about posting it somewhere. We will NOT be going back to Texas live and will be telling our girl friends not to either. Security guards are supposed to protect you and keep the peace, this man was extremely violent and looking for any excuse to fight.

Yelp
Bar/ Drink Service ONLY on Game Days. Be sure to check the website before visiting Texas Live, as we visited on a game day and you could only get drinks. I feel this is important information for individuals who would like to eat before the game. Texas Live is HUGE! An it offers views of the Rangers Ballpark and the AT&T stadium. There is also an outdoor concert space in between Globe Life Field and Texas Live. Bars PBR Texas - Has a dance floor and two mechanical bulls. :) Miller Tavern & Beer Garden Live Arena! Ranger Republic Sports Social Revolver Brewhouse Food Taco Joint Pudge's Pizza Revolver Brewhouse Lockharts Sports & Social Troy's

Yelp
I really enjoyed coming here pre-game. There are TVs everywhere and multiple games being played on the TVs. I would've given this a 5 -star but there was a $10 cover and you needed to make reservations to sit inside. This wasn't spelled out when we purchased our tickets. We bought grilled sausages that were tasty and were able to sit outside without a reservation. There were multiple places to get food but reservations were required at most of them. Lesson learned. The servers outside were good at their jobs.
google avatar

V. G.

Yelp
First for the good. The atmosphere and environment on game day is crazy good, great place to watch the game. Now for the bad. The food is horrible they will bring you out cold food and the drinks are watered down. The price gouging is horrible on a regular night you pay 7 dollars for a beer on game day it's 14. Even if you order a drink and ask them to put a splash of mixer they will add water. For you to do the loyal fans like this is crazy if you charge regular prices you will make more because we don't mind spending the money but with these bad business practices it's not fan friendly. Conclusion: If you go here pre game before you leave buy you one beer and grab a pizza from the pizza place inside watch the game and leave. If you get a table buy the minum required and nothing more.
google avatar

Gilbert B.

Yelp
Food is super okay but convenient if you're staying at Live. I do wish there were better options.
google avatar

Cinai V.

Yelp
Super awesome spot with a great sports bar atmosphere. It's huge, I mean I felt like there was an endless amount of places to sit, tv screens, restaurants, bars, people... etc. Almost overstimulating but we came for the 2nd Astros & Rangers game. Heads up, we paid $40 for parking because that's all we could find at the time but I don't think Texas live has anything to do with the parking. We were able to order drinks almost immediately, bartender was really nice and we found somewhere to sit quickly too. One very strong margarita and one very big beer was $30, but we didn't ask about any specials. Unfortunately we didn't have any time to eat but I will be prioritizing that next time around because it all looked amazing.
