New Dining Options in Tysons Will Include Lots of Poke | Eater DC

"Set to open this fall at 1934 Old Gallows Road in Vienna, I learned Rango’s will produce flour tortillas on-site and serve margaritas and sangrias; the 6,500-square-foot, 200-seat Tex-Mex restaurant from Ismael Rosa and his son Robert will include indoor, outdoor, and bar areas, with more details about its offerings, ETA, and design forthcoming." - Tierney Plumb

Stopped in for the first time for lunch. It felt like a very authentic Mexican restaurant. The portions were really good. The “market price” guacamole was fantastic (chunky & spicy) & overall, the food was very tasty & very delicious & tasted fresh. The salsa was amazing as well. The corn tortillas tasted fresh & the quesadilla was absolutely amazing with the mushroom & spinach. The only thing I would probably mention is that they probably need a couple more servers on the floor because the server that we had seemed overwhelmed & was not as attentive because it was a little busy, other than that it was a great visit. Would definitely come back for the food.

First visit to Rango's Tex mex in Tysons corner. We had lunch special and some mojitos. I ordered spicy Chicken Tacos and veg tacos, it was awesome, they add habanero chilli to it so be careful if you ask spicy. Portions were great comes with some rice and beans salsa. For drinks pineapple and mango mojito were delicious with a fresh pineapple garnish. Service was attentive and friendly .They also serve fresh chips and salsa as you sit down on the house. The place was busy as the food is great and owner also checked on us . Free parking Will visit again and highly recomend it.

Google
By far the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The meat quality, especially the beef was great for the price. The menu prices are a tad bit more than the average price for these types of dishes but it’s worth it for how good they are. The portion sizes are pretty big to fill you up. They do get busy for dinners so expect to wait for your food for a while longer. They sing sacs celebrate birthdays too which is was pretty cool. Highly recommend to try this place out!!

I had dinner at this homie restaurant recently, and even though it was pretty full, everything was clean and well-kept. The location is great—peaceful and in a nice spot—and I especially loved the outdoor seating. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Google
Good service, convenient parking and spacious. The restaurant has a lively decor and would be a fun place for groups... and come hungry because portions are generous and easily shareable. My husband is more of a tex-mex fan, I'm basically the plus one. The chips and salsa comes complimentary, it was so easy to fill up on them... my bad. Apps: Chile con Carne-my husband loved it! It was ok, I prefer a more "heat." Tacos Mexicanos-tasty but messy. The Tortillas fall apart. Chilaquiles- not what I expected with all the melted cheese on it. It was ok. I'm glad I asked for steak to be added. Made it more flavorful. The steak was tender and seasoned well We would probably return. My husband really liked this place. And I wouldn't mind trying other things on the menu. The menu options are alot!

Very yummy and flavorful. The food was prepared perfectly as ordered and was beautifully presented. The margaritas are delicious and strong!

We celebrated a birthday at Rangos Tex-Mex, and everything was absolutely perfect! The waiter was incredibly nice and friendly, and the food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. The owner was so welcoming and sweet, making us feel right at home. Our large group couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Their fajitas were full of flavor, the tacos were absolutely amazing, and the appetizers were delicious from start to finish. And we have to mention their amazing variety of margaritas, each one better than the next! Highly recommend Rangos for great food, wonderful service, and a truly warm atmosphere.

Google
Rangos is a 10/10 every time. It is a great place for a celebration or just a regular dinner. I have hosted my birthday dinner here twice and both times they easily and effectively took great care of my large party (20+ people) so efficiently. The food quality has been amazing for every dish I've tried. I recommend the steak dishes because it always comes out perfectly. It's a place we'd take out of towners if we needed a good spot for the vibes, quality, and service! A Tyson's staple!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are big Rangos fans! You can catch us at the bar for Happy Hour at least once a month. Hands down, our favorite thing to order is the queso. It is one of the best in the area. We have even stopped in just for queso more than once. It is always delicious and I HIGHLY recommend it. The vibe is festive and fun, with friendly staff and quick service. The food is consistently great. Fresh chips, flavorful salsa, and solid entrees like enchiladas, chile rellenos, and fajitas. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing or saving for later. However, skip the salads - they are rather bland and certainly not their specialty. Margaritas are strong, not too sweet, and come in a variety of flavors. Parking is easy in the nearby garage, and while the bar area can get a bit loud, there are quieter tables if you prefer. All in all, Rangos is a great spot for casual dining, date nights, or just a quick queso fix. We will definitely keep coming back!

Yelp
Ordered via UE and it took ~1hr from delivery to my door on a Saturday night. Food arrived lukewarm. We ordered the chicken and medium rare steak fajita platter, sans the rice and requested Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese on the side. UE delivered with care. I was disappointed that besides the tortilla chips everything was packaged in plastic, styrofoam or aluminum foil. The beans were liquidy and had some type of white cheese (we think that's what it is) in them. They were not to our liking. The proteins were cooked to order and were even better the next day. The flour tortillas were soft and flavorful. The tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole that was provided was only enough for two fajitas. We were given four flour tortillas and we could have used more. The onions and peppers consisted of 99% onions and they could have used more sautéed time because they were very oniony and when added to the fajitas, made them very onion forward....nasty. The tortilla chips were thin, crispy and flavorful, just the way I like them but no salsa was provided. Not sure if we had to order that separately since we didn't order the tortilla chips. SO and I agreed that this was one and done. I appreciate the Business Owners response to my comments.

Yelp
Went for brunch and had the huevos rancheros with eggs, breakfast potatoes and plantains. The potatoes were odd- not roasted and almost like a warm potato salad in a mound. The steak was good though a bit undercooked and the tortillas were super soggy and lacked flavor. The chips were not warm and too thick and the salsa lacked heat and was watery. Service was good. I would come back to try other items, but the brunch was disappointing.

Yelp
I'm not as high on this place as other reviewers. It's the exact same as every other Mexican restaurant you've been to including the mass produced margarita, chips and salsa, typical menu fare in the typical combo offerings, and the birthday song to someone in the place every ten minutes. It's pretty pricey for what it is but that is a byproduct of its location. Some positives are that it has lots of seating so if you're there on a weekend and everywhere has a two hour wait you can still come here. The best dish we had was the fajitas. The tortillas are fluffy and so tasty and the steak is tender and delicious. Skip the chicken, it's dry, skip the guac, it's not mixed very well and full of cilantro.

Yelp
This review is for the food only. My husband and daughter dined in and brought me food home. I chose the Lucha Villa and it was absolutely phenomenal. It traveled quite a distance away and was still pretty warm once I received it. I ate half last night and finished it off for lunch. I would definitely go myself to try other things out.

Yelp
This was a solid dining experience. I came in and was instantly seated. There are lots of seating options inside and out. I ordered quickly and soon had chips, salsa, and a margarita on my table. The salsa had a nice flavor to it, the chips were light and crisp. The margarita was delightful! I got the chile rellenos for dinner and I am so glad I did! The my were breaded well, the cheese was a delicious melted ball of happiness, and they had the perfect level of heat. Soooo delicious! Great food, great service!
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
I'd give it a 5 stars for staff -- everyone was over the top attentive and I love the birthday songs, but for me the food was just so-so. The guacamole wasn't mixed well so some bites were so salty it ruined the flavor and some had no salt at all. Plus the cilantro was chopped so fine it was near impossible to pick out. My spinach enchilada was alright.

Yelp
So. We had a birthday party for my oldest daughter. About 12 people. They were ready for us. Took the cake I brought. Put candles in it and came out and sang to her. They were pretty good too! The service was excellent. Took care of us well. Place was nice and open. Food was good. I wished they had more fish and vegetarian options but hey - No real complaints. All and all a very good experience.!

Yelp
I went here for happy hour. It's a great Tex-Mex spot. I got the frozen strawberry margarita, and it was very refreshing. The combination fajita was fire. The shrimp was a little overcooked, so it was on the tough side, but otherwise, everything was delicious.
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
So good! The service really stood out. Everything was run super efficiently. The complimentary chips and salsa were amazing- super fresh tasting! The Rango's salad was okay, the raw vegetables weren't my favorite however they did not skimp on the steak! The wings were good and plentiful. Would definitely recommend, especially for happy hour.

Yelp
Excellent food- larger than expected portions. Our waiter was great too. Even though the steak fajitas was a great cut of steak, I'm my only gripe is that maybe they need to marinate it longer.
google avatar

Blossom C.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriends for a happy hour and was unfortunately told that happy hour was only able at the bar or patio. Opted to stay and try them out anyways. I got the grilled steak enchiladas and one of my friends got the birra tacos. Portions were massive and enough to save for a second meal. The steak was grilled perfected and my friends enjoyed the flavor of the tacos. One of the other girls got the fajitas and it was also large portions. We also enjoyed their desserts, the flan was a bit coconut forward according to my friend but the tres leches was balanced. The server sometimes forgot about us in our corner but the food came out piping hot. The overall ambiance wasn't too busy or crowded compared to some other places but still very festive. Should try if you are in the Tyson's area.

Yelp
By the quality of the food I really thought this place was a chain and I'm surprised it's not. My family ordered to-go and for the price the quality is just not there. We ordered a chicken chimichanga, the shredded chicken was okay, not too bad but not amazing. It was on the drier side. I got rice and charro beans on the side and I'm sorry, I really disliked the beans. I couldn't even eat them. The carne asada fajitas was nothing to write home about. And the tortilla for the kids beef taco was strange but my daughter liked it. We also ordered chips with guacamole, queso and salsa. All of the dips lacked flavor. The guacamole just needed some more salt and lime to make it good. The queso was just not good and the salsa was pretty bland. The chips themselves were just okay. I had high hopes because of the reviews but was pretty disappointed. I'm not sure if it was just an off day or too busy for them considering it was dinner on a Friday but we will probably not be bad.
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for dinner options and we decided to check out Rango's. It was a Friday evening and yes, they were busy. I highly recommend setting up a reservation beforehand. The food and drinks were pretty good. I recommend getting a margarita and fajita. The one downfall was service. Our waiter didn't give much of an intro and failed to check up on us after we were done with our meal. We had to flag him down to give us our check.
google avatar

Meridena K.

Yelp
Excellent, I'm not sure how they get it so perfect lol. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, the fajitas were so good, everything was fresh. Homemade tortillas. Margaritas were delicious, we all got slightly different flavors, and they won't tell us the secret to their margs it's a very casual and friendly place, a bit loud but to be expected, clean bathrooms, great parking in next door garage, definitely recommend coming here!
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
Warm, hospitable service and fantastic atmosphere. I was here for a business happy hour and enjoyed a perfect, tajin rimmed marg. The marg was huge, not overly sweet, and packed a perfect punch. My group shared guacamole and queso, both were to die for. The chips were perfect, thin and crispy. By the time my chicken fajitas arrived, I could only eat 1 because I overdid it on the chips, queso and guac, but it was absolutely delicious. I will have to pace myself better next time! 10/10!

Yelp
This place is located where the old bertucci's was years ago, and down the street from Patsy's. It's easy enough to park here - there's parking lot in the adjacent building, and it was relatively empty when I got there and parked the car. We met two friends, so there were four of us. I had the carne asada fajitas, and I asked for the steak to be cooked medium. My buddy, George, had the poblano peppers, My wife had shrimp and my buddy's wife had a chicken burrito. The one thing that was a little bit annoying was that our waiter, who couldn't really speak much English, kept pushing us to get the big margarita. Kept pushing drinks, as a matter of fact. We told him that I had a flight early the next morning, but he didn't get it. They need to ease off on pressuring for drinks! My carne asada fajitas were absolutely off the hook. The meat was perfectly cooked, and it tasted well marinated. The sides it came with a fajitas were also very good - rice and beans. My wife's shrimp was just okay, and I would suggest sticking to more traditional foods here. George's poblano peppers were good, or at least he said so. And the chicken burrito was big and had to be finished by our friend's husband. Overall, this is a good b+ a- Tex-Mex restaurant, and I think I would come again. I would just want to avoid that waiter!
google avatar

Alonzo D.

Yelp
Rango's Tex-Mex turned out to be a great find. The staff was attentive the whole time and checked in just enough without interrupting. The food came out fresh, well-seasoned, and nicely portioned. I tried one of their signature drinks and it was smooth and not overly sweet. The place felt relaxed and clean, and everything was served pretty quickly. Overall, a solid experience that I'd definitely come back for.

Yelp
I've been in the area many times but this was my first time finding this place. We made reservations thru open table and glad we did as it was busy inside when we entered. My friends ordered some beverages that were ginormous!!! We ordered guacamole and queso for the chips and it definitely heightened up the flavors with the salsas! We ordered the following... Sizzling Fajitas - All fajitas -green peppers and Spanish onions. Served with Mexican rice, frijoles a la charra, guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, Mexican butter, and homemade tortillas on the side *Camarones Brochette Fajitas Jumbo shrimp stuffed with cheese and jalapeño peppers, wrapped in bacon *Steak Fajitas- marinated outside skirt steak *Chicken-Grilled organic chicken Fajitas *Shredded Chicken Flautas Three lightly fried flour tortillas filled with cheese, refried beans, Mexican rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream on the side. The fajita choices were all delicious, sharable and filling. The favorites were the Steak and the Camarones Brochette. The shrimp was huge!! Definitely leftovers for another meal as well as the Flautas. The only thing that was left at the table were the frijoles a la charra. It wasn't very popular among the group. Overall experience was wonderful, food was good and service was great.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great sit down Mexican restaurant and it might be the best one in the area. Free parking is great and we immediately got a table and the service was quick. The table got free chips and salsa and the salsa had a nice kick and the chips were warm. I got the steak enchiladas where the steak was nicely marinated, and I ate that up quickly. The prices are also not that bad comparable to other Mexican restaurants. The food overall was great and a nice vibe that if I had to pick a sit down Mexican place this is my go to now.
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
Great Mexican restaurant, a bit hidden from the main road. Loved the frozen margarita and I was very impressed with the portion of steak that came with my salad. The steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The enchiladas were also great and very filling. The calamari was not greasy and perfectly crispy. Service was prompt without being intrusive. The space is huge with tables well spread out.

T Q.

Yelp
We've eaten here a few times, generally a good experience. However, today was very underwhelming. They offer "brunch" but clearly no idea what that means because the offerings looked haphazard and like they dreamt up the menu just before opening. Service has been frustrating during previous visits - servers constantly coming over and asking to take the plates away. Wait until everyone is done eating to clear plates unless asked to before the meals are finished. It's irritating to feel pressured to finish the food and annoying to be interrupted so often.
google avatar

Susy P.

Yelp
I have reviewed this restaurant a few times, but this is the first time we sat outside on the patio. There was a big party going on at the bar so a lot of people dressed up we're walking in the owner always comes around to greet us and it truly makes you feel like it's a local restaurant and that your patronage is valued. I ordered the seafood soup which was amazing and we also ordered carne asada. Everything was flavorful fresh and I love the salsa. Nice chunks of tomatoes. I highly recommend coming here and eating outside.

Yelp
Wound up at this Tex-Mex place when meeting up a friend in the Tyson's area for dinner. Located right by Neisha, Nordstrom, BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, this place has good food. For birthdays and special occasions, the staff come out and do their little celebration. While there on a Friday night, my friend and I witnessed two. lol Nearest parking is in a nearby garage. The bar and high top tables can get a little loud, so if you're looking for a slightly quieter dining experience, there are tables. I had the San Miguel salad and my friend ordered the enchilada. One of my favorite things about the place is the made in store tortilla chips! Note that first time check in resulted in a deal for Memorial Day weekend special for first responders. Kind of a weird deal, esp since it was Labor Day weekend and not all Yelp'ers are veterans or first responders. I tried to see if they'd accept it, but no dice.

Yelp
We had a big group of 9 people meet up here for a long brunch. The atmosphere is so cozy and clean. The service is top notch and fast. We were able to sit for a long while it wasn't that busy while we enjoyed the food. We ordered the guacamole, steamed cornbread, and Carne con queso for appetizers. Along with that the brought us chips and salsa. The cornbread was outstanding as well as the carne con queso. It was brunch so we ordered from both the brunch and regular menus. All the food and drinks were outstanding! We ended up having desserts as well. I ordered the fried ice cream and I was a little disappointed:( must say the only thing that I was not a fan of :( All in all great place to eat from the food to the service
google avatar

Sean K.

Yelp
Rango's food definitely checks the boxes for tex-mex. If you're craving tex-mex you can't really go wrong here. Food is tasty, margs are strong, and they give lot's of chips/salsa. There's frequently birthdays and they send out a small band to play which can be quite loud. In the two time's I've eaten here, the food does take some time to come out. Staff is nice but the only thing I can critique is how long it took for us to get our food. Overall tasty and a good time though.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
The food was hot and fresh. Everything we had was delicious! The service was great - I asked the waiter for a special drink and he was so fun! The ambiance was your typical Mexican restaurant- loud(ish), but a great time! We will be back!
google avatar

Cam B.

Yelp
Rango's is amazing delicious! Traveling and this place was highly recommended, now I know why. Service was on point and the cuisine was like eating in Mexico City. Super fresh. Ordered tacos and was perfectly prepared. Meat was juicy and tender. Corona beer super cold. No dessert but they looked delicious. Must try.

Hanna T.

Yelp
food is mediocre and management is rude. The "owner" or "manager" Ishmael Rosa waved his had to dismiss my concerns when I asked a question and walked away. I don't know what planet that kind of behaviour this would be considered acceptable. I didn't leave a tip (though I've been a waitress myself). Besides this, the food didn't taste good. I had the Camerones al ajillo. How is it possible to mess that up! Yuck!!! I have a picture of Ismael Rosa. He doesn't deserve our business.
google avatar

Bryan L.

Yelp
Honestly I enjoy the food here but this review is to warn people to check their receipts. I sat at the bar section and signed for a $50 check. $60 after tip. I was going over my credit card statements about a week later and luckily I noticed they cancelled the amount I signed for and charged me $70. Now while I did call and complain and they gave me my money back, it only happened because I called them out on it. I spoke to the manager and told him I didn't appreciate his shady business practices. He said it wasn't shady. You can be the judge of that.

Yelp
4.50 stars. Let me be clear about Rango's - this would be 4.50 stars in Texas. This isn't some adjusted rating because Virginia is far away from the Mexican border. Rango's is outstanding regardless of your location. The fajitas here are great. Not only is the carne asada cooked to order (in my case, medium rare was actually achieved for the vast majority of the order), but it comes with a delicious side of Mexican butter as well as your standard pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. I found myself essentially ignoring mostly everything but the steak and Mexican butter which is an addicting combination. I also really liked the complementary salsa and chips largely because the salsa was actually quite good. I did not try any of the other orders at my table, but I did notice that all of the other plates were fully eaten. There wasn't a drop of food in sight for the dog which makes the dog the only one that wouldn't have given Rango's the five Yelp stars it deserves.

Rosy B.

Yelp
Rango's is a great restaurant. So happy I discovered it! The food is delicious, the service is super, the ambience very nice . It really deserves 5 stars.

Allan S.

Yelp
We go to Rango on a regular basis. The service, atmosphere, and food are great A really good restaurant

Yelp
Came back again this time for lunch. Got the combo chicken and steak fajita again. Food quality was great like last time. Their fresh chips were still a hit. However, the portion size has decreased from 2 years ago and the price has increased. That coupled with some misses from service has me less likely to come back unless I am really craving good Tex-Mex. Combo Chicken Steak Fajita (~$26): +came quickly and sizzling hot on the skillet +flavors on point - love the melted frothy butter, beans had some bacon and feta cheese in it and overall is not too salty like other places +meat cooked tender and juicy +rice seasoned appropriately and not too salty -I ordered medium rare steak but only half were actually cooked to that temp, the other were closer to medium or even well -butts of scallions included with the sautéed onions, at first thought it was a mistake but then I saw two in mine and one in my company's platter too -only given 3 tortillas to start, but I assume you can ask for more Service +not to hard to flag someone down this time -multiple times the server didn't get us what we wanted: more chips and salsa, more to-go boxes, more tortillas Food is still good, just not as much as a value as before.

Yelp
Rango's is an enjoyable option in the midst of busy Rt. 7 in the heart of Tyson's. Within the radius of other cuisines in the area, Rango's tops with expansive offerings full menu including brunch and cocktails. I especially enjoyed my protein intake here of carne asada fajita! Served exactly as ordered, my 10oz served medium was so tender. I usually eat only half but this gal had no shame and inhaled everything lol! Chips, salsa, tortillas, and desserts are all made in house. All outstanding! Be it a business lunch, date night, post shopping, and all celebrations, I highly recommend Rango's! Past Tiffany's and Neisha, there is free parking garage right next to the restaurant.

Yelp
Overall the food was very delicious, including the tacos and the seafood fajitas. Some room for improvement might be that there were almost no veggies in the fajitas, it was 95% onions with a few slivers of pepper. Also, the kids meal steak taco comes in two big huge strips inside the taco -- a meal for children should be more chopped/sliced steak. Service was great.

Yelp
Tex-Mex food factory where both the menu and the portions are huge Solid food, complimentary chips & salsa, & fast service Someone in the restaurant had a birthday and a bunch of staff came out to sing to her (with instruments in hand) Large space that gets pretty loud Happy hour at the bar only

Yelp
Great fun place to throw birthday celebrations- staff joins right in with signing- Don't miss the large margarita pitcher ($79) and the chicken taquitos- see pic Highly recommended

Yelp
This business bills itself as TEX-MEX food. It's an insult to Texas. Having grown up in Ft. Worth, I know real Tex-Mex food when I taste it. This was so bland and and tasteless that I only ate about half of my meal and just stopped. The beef that I ordered to go with my chili relleno was watery and had no flavor at all to it. My sides of beans and rice were cold and the beer that I was told was going to cost me $5 a glass on happy hour actually cost me $6 a glass. So the only thing that I can say was really good was the beer and our server was attentive. It took me almost 45 minutes to drive there in traffic and I will never go back unless I have a good reason to.

Yelp
Came here for drinks during happy hour. The cocktails are really good. Also for the first time I tried pollo saltado and it was absolutely amazing. The queso was not good and congealed very quickly which was a bit disappointing at a Mexican restaurant. The service was slow also but they were really busy so totally understand that. Overall would definitely come back!

Yelp
Really amazing food and margarita! My husband had a meeting across the street and I was craving some Tex Mex and a cold cocktail while I waited for him. I went on a gorgeous Tuesday around noon and plenty of folks were taking advantage of the outdoor seating. The fact that they are a block away from the main road allows for a much quieter dining experience outdoors. I opted to sit near the bar and watched a movie on my iPad (they offer high speed WiFi!) while I chowed down on my chili relleno, beef taco and beef enchilada. The jalapeño margarita is also delicious and spicy. The food came out piping hot and was served with Mexican rice, refried beans and sour cream, fresh pico and gauc. My server was actually the floor manager that day and he was incredibly kind and checked in on me and even brought me a habanero salsa when I asked if they had anything to spice up my pico de gallo. Great establishment! Will definitely visit when my husband and I are back in Tyson's.

Yelp
This place is a little bit tucked away, I always remind myself to try it when I see it, but never have been able to until now. Glad I did because it's some of the better Mexican I've had in the area. Huge appetizer menu with lots of different things from your typical Mexican restaurant, including yucca and plantains. I went for the chimichanga, which was huge and really tasty. It was quite busy, but there is lots of high top bar seating that is first come first serve so we were able to snag one of those pretty quickly. Really fast service, chips arrived almost immediately after we sat down and we got our food in no time. Definitely going into my rotation in the Tysons area and at the top of my list for Mexican food.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to Rango's a few times now. Their chips and salsa taste fresh and their white queso is wonderful as well! On my most recent visit I tried the steak burrito and was blown away. I'm happy to have found my new favorite menu item! I can't wait to eat here again!

Yelp
Went here for my BIL B-day. Server was nice and attentive but the kitchen was super slow. When we asked why it's been 30 minutes since we ordered entree, the waiter just shrugged his shoulders. I got the grilled chicken burrito with ample grilled chicken. Other BIL got chimichanga and felt robbed by the end of his meal. Wife got Marisco saltado, not bad but the side of black beans were flavorless! Not every dish came out hot, yet more evidence that kitchen was struggling that day. I would like to come back for their happy hour menu, but not sure they can handle peak dinner rush.

Yelp
Que rico! What an enjoyable and delicious experience we had at Rango's! I was expecting standard TexMex and our dinner exceeded my expectations. Made to order guacamole was huge and made without onions, per our request. Chips were warm, thin and plentiful. Pretty busy for a Saturday night but we were seated after a modest 10 minute wait. Casual atmosphere with lots of big parties and screens in the bar area had Washington Commanders game on. Food/entrees were enormous and delicious. Simple good but done well- rice and refried beans were hearty on a cold night. Burria tacos were tasty, shrimp tacos were stuffed with shrimp and all the fixings (pico, lettuce, more guac, sour cream) were on the side. We were there to celebrate my birthday (a few other tables were too) and it's been a while since waiters sang me a song and gave me a sombrero to wear. Very fun. Enjoyed it here a lot, will be back!

Yelp
We visited Rango's about a week ago and I'm still raving about how great it was! The food was absolutely delicious--flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The service was just as impressive: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Even though it was busy (Friday night crowd!), the wait times were surprisingly short. The staff was quick to get us seated, and you could tell they were happy to be there and eager to make sure everyone had a great experience. We chose to sit at the bar and felt completely comfortable the entire time. The vibe was relaxed but lively, making it a perfect spot to unwind with good food and drinks. Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid Mexican spot with amazing service and a great atmosphere!

Yelp
I found this through a recommendation for the seafood soup, and it was indeed delicious! I followed the recommendations again to the carne asada fajitas. Their flavor was good, but... the steak wasn't sliced, which may have made it seem smaller than I'd expected. It also included some gristle and fat that was tough to cut through, unfortunately. Since it was delivery, I can't comment on the ambiance. I do think I'll be back, but I may get more seafood instead of the carne asada.
