LA County Won’t Institute Mask Mandate Due to Declining Hospitalizations - Eater LA

"San Diego-based chef Brad Wise and Trust Restaurant Group have opened a new location of the vintage Vegas-inspired, open-flame steakhouse Rare Society at 214 State Street in Santa Barbara. Wise is showcasing Santa Maria-style grilling on a menu that offers dry-aged ribeyes, wagyu, Santa Maria-style tri-tip, as well as classics such as oysters Rockefeller, snow crab claws, Caesar salad, and seafood towers." - Karen Palmer

26 Best Restaurants in San Diego, from Taco Shops to Hotel Lounges | Condé Nast Traveler

"Just a few minutes north of Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, Rare Society is a retro-glam steakhouse that has the cozy feeling of a neighborhood eatery. Think indulgent steak dinners and seafood in an unpretentious environment, there’s dry-aged cuts (the ribeye is a crowd pleaser), and wagyu from Durham Ranch. Order one of the entree boards (the chef selects a variety of steak cuts and presents them for sharing), or stop in for happy hour on the outside deck. Each board comes with a variety of house-made steak sauce, salsa, bearnaise and roasted bone marrow. Although it’s a steakhouse, it’s not strictly formal—diners can come as they are, whether that’s dressed for a night out or casually in jeans." - Marie Tutko, Archana Ram

Trust Restaurant Group Preps to Reopen All Its Dining Rooms | Eater San Diego

"Returning to in-house dining on Thursday, May 28, Rare Society — the steakhouse that opened on Park Boulevard last fall — will offer dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be closed Tuesdays. As part of the groupwide precautions, I note that hours have been amended, some tables have been removed to ensure physical distancing, employees will undergo daily health screenings, and reservations will be required with a two-hour dining limit; one-time-use physical menus will be available and tables will also feature QR codes to view menus online." - Candice Woo
