"Rare Steakhouse — located inside Encore’s luxury resort and casino — is a perfect place to take those casino winnings after a particularly lucky afternoon. There are lots of opportunities to go big here, including the wagyu tartare, a colossal shrimp cocktail, and the 40-ounce dry-aged tomahawk. For a more low-key meal or an after-dinner nightcap, head to the next-door Rare Lounge." - Erika Adams, Terrence Doyle

Amazing food. The desserts are mind blowing. Service wasn’t terrible but server seemed constantly in a rush and often forgot things. Complementary wine was given due to long wait times for dessert. Server also never asked if we wanted dessert and brought the check before asking. Atmosphere is elegant and comfortable. 40 oz tomahawk was very good. Drinks were great as well. Overall I would rate this restaurant 9.4/10

Amazing experience. Jenny and Josh were great. The steaks are top notch. The bread and sides were the best we've had. Wynn wins again. Go see them and tell them Barsnobs sent ya!

A perfect birthday celebration! The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. It’s such a treat to go somewhere where every single person you met from beginning to end was a delight. Our waiter Will, along with every employee that we encountered was lovely and treated us to a wonderful evening!

I had an incredible dining experience at Rare steakhouse lounge. Cara was our amazing server and made our experience 10X better. This is our second time here and she remembered us from the moment we walked in! The food was absolutely amazing! The ambiance was also perfect. We will be back to see Cara!

Best Steakhouse and service experience in Boston by far. Patrick at the bar was incredible and made my day even better! I will be back for more great food, but more concisely because the service was SPECTACULAR. 11/10 rating

Dear Rare Steakhouse Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with my dining experience at your establishment last night. I was part of a group of 10 celebrating a birthday at the Encore Casino location on March 2nd. While the evening started off well, with a friendly and accommodating server, we encountered several issues that marred our celebration. Firstly, we noticed that some of the seafood in the two towers we ordered did not taste fresh, and the mushroom sides were overly salty. Despite these minor setbacks, we were enjoying our time until an incident with the restaurant manager, Cameron, occurred. Towards the end of our meal, as we were finishing our entrees and waiting for dessert, Cameron approached us in a manner we found quite rude. He asked us to lower our volume, claiming we were disturbing other diners, despite our table being located at the entrance, far from other occupied tables. His approach made us feel uncomfortable, as he continued to watch our group throughout the evening as if we were being babysat. Cameron returned a second time, this time with an attitude, threatening to call security if we didn’t quiet down. This left us feeling humiliated and embarrassed, as we were simply trying to enjoy a celebratory dinner. We have dined at many restaurants in the Boston area, including others at the casino, and have never felt discriminated against or treated like children in need of supervision. We were not disruptive or rude, and there were no signs indicating that we needed to whisper while dining. We believe it is reasonable to expect that a celebration includes talking, laughing, and cheering. The manager’s behavior was uncalled for and made us feel unwelcome, to the point where we felt compelled to leave.

We had the best dinner with Vidas and Sujan! The dream team! We live in the South End and don't come to Encore often....but WOW....we'll be back ASAP! A great dinner and even better service! Just make sure you sit with Vidas!

We celebrated my husband birthday here and service was very good. They had a nice handwritten birthday card for my husband once we sat down. The steak was average. We tried the ribeye. The seafood risotto was also average, nothing too special. The best thing we had to eat was the cheesesteak bites appetizer and the cocktails. The Zephyr cocktails was so good! The views and atmosphere are very enjoyable.

Yelp
The service here was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, were incredibly attentive, and all-around amazing. The food was also fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, the seafood risotto had a very good amount of lobster, and the wedge salads were some of the best we've had. The ambiance was very nice - great lighting, not too loud, and a had a feeling of a new take on the 70's (in a good way). The Baby Banana dessert was amazing. All of the food felt unique, fresh, and interesting. Also, they brought out a baby chair for a woman's purse and it was everything. Drinks were also great from both a taste and serve experience standpoint. Our server was Stephen and he was great!

Yelp
This was so disappointing. The space is lovely and you expect the Wynn level of service and Rare just doesn't deliver. We waited 10+ min for anyone to approach our table. Everything took SO LONG, just so slow. We had a mushroom allergy and they said they couldn't make the cheesesteak sliders on brioche that didn't have truffle - but the order we got had no truffle on it anyway (?). They were out of broccolini the ONLY green vegetable on the menu. None of our steaks were cooked to the temp ordered and had zero flavor once we did eat them. Noticing our displeasure the waiter said he would "take care of us" and after asking his manager they took off one app (barely anything) on a nearly thousand dollar bill. We are steakhouse people and frequent them around the city, we will not be back.

Yelp
Was expecting 5 stars based on other reviews - unfortunately that was not quite our experience. Vidas, our waiter, was very attentive and the rest of the staff was great too. We went a little early for our reservation and they were able to accommodate us. The decor is nice and atmosphere is pleasant. Seafood tower was very good - fresh and oysters were excellent. The brioche bread they serve was fantastic. The side dishes were good - fries were a particular highlight. The majority of the table ordered the filet mignon. However, the ones that were ordered medium rare came out tough and hard to chew. The only one that was ordered medium was ironically rarer than the other ones. We've had much better steaks at a number of other steakhouses, including Capital Grille, Grill 23 and Davio's. The loup de mer was good and crispy but be aware that it does come with all the bones. At a steakhouse, I would expect the meat to be the star of the show - here, the seafood, fish and side dishes were the highlight.

Yelp
My husband and i stayed at the encore for three nights, visiting from south florida. Every time we visit we make sure to go to Rare. this is a great example on how a Wynn property restaurant should be run. Seamark should takes notes. From the quality of food to the service, we were not upset with spending $400 on a meal. The service is very professional and on top of their game. Never had a bad meal, I would recommend the wedge salad, filet, lamb chops and salmon.

Yelp
I don't know where to begin from the moment I walked in the door the service was absolute perfection! I came with no reservation, and Chris welcomed me like I was a regular. He sat me in Daniel's station. Sang was my busser he was sonattentive, kind and spoke properly. I had a tough time deciding if I wanted a glass of wine or a cocktail and finally settled with the Secret Cinema. Let me tell you it did not disappoint it was a spin on the Oaxaca old fashioned made with rum instead of mezcal. I never had to ask for anything my every need was taken care of like they could read my mind. Before my appetizer came out, the chef sent a refreshing suprise of a sesame cone filled with uzu cream. Then came my oysters and wedge salad. The oysters were absolutely delicious, and that wedge salad I honestly could have licked the plate if I was not in such a refined establishment. My filet was cooked to perfection no sauce needed it just melted the moment you placed it on your tongue. The shrimp scampi was plump with a buttery sauce cooked to perfection. They had a small but diverse dessert menu but unfortunately I had no room which means I must come back. I totally reccomend you dine here call Chris I know he will take care of you.

Yelp
I'm usually aloof when it comes to steakhouses, but this one impressed me. My wife and I split a tomahawk and a few apps/sides - which was more than enough. The presentation, cook, and taste was phenomenal and among the best I've had. The tomahawk did come with all the sauces - chimichurri, barnaise and their signature sauce. And we also did truffle butter. Everything was really rich. Only the chimi and truffle butter is what I'd recommend. The bairnaise is *fine* and their signature sauce ran a little on the sweet side for my liking. Service was warm and welcoming. The place also wasn't as stuffy as it appears. Really beautiful decore and their bar was impressive. Price point for a casino restaurant felt really reasonable. Highly recommend for a birthday or anniversary.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Rare. This establishment offered a lounge area which offered live music. I didn't have a reservation, however, I was able to sit at the bar in the main dining area. The dining area had neutral color decor which was relaxing and clean! The wedge salad was split into two but was still enough. The bacon added the perfect touch to the salad. My steak not prepared as asked but was corrected in a timely manner. The lobster Mac and cheese was cheesy with a generous amount of lobster. All the staff were professional and kind! I would definately return. Everything was perfect from the decor, the food, and the staff!

Yelp
Here for a conference. The main Rare restaurant is closed so I am in the Rare lounge. I have eaten in the restaurant in the past and had a wonderful meal. Ambiance is Very nice. A piano player is playing. Excellent. Service at the bar where I almost always sit when by myself, is very good. I got a Vesper - Belvedere and Bombay Saphire, & Lillet Blanc the cocktail was excellent. It is a steakhouse so that is what I got. An 8oz filet, 6 Oysters and some mushrooms on the side. The oysters were very tasty. Clean and fresh. There was a bit of shell in one. The wine list by the glass was limited, and very expensive, so I did not get any. My steak was not great it was certainly not USDA Prime beef which is what my bartender told me that it was. The meat had tendons in there that could not be eaten. The mushrooms were ok not great. They had an unusual flavor. Value was poor. I am in a casino hotel so what can you expect. The meal was underwhelming. Service "a". Food "c". Ambiance "b". Value "d". I won't eat here again when staying at the hotel. Mark.

Yelp
I have visited Rare twice - once for my anniversary and once for a date night. Both times we made reservations and were seated promptly. The service was consistently outstanding, and the food presentation was beautifully done on both occasions. Although the overall experience at Rare was good, it doesn't quite reach the level of extraordinary for the price point.

Bob G.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time to the Rare Lounge. Featuring lite bites and awesome drinks and unusual service of things like "Flights" Just ordered a WhistlePig Flight. Three different tastings!! Great ambience. Welcoming. Great seating. To be continued....

Yelp
We came here for dinner and this place definitely looks very upscale. The service was impeccable for the most part. We decided to opt for the 40oz steak plus a couple sides. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The only downside was that the steak wasn't evenly seasoned. I had a piece at the end that was extremely salty compared to the other pieces. For the sides, we got the lobster Mac and cheese which was delicious, the mashed potatoes which was my personal favorite, asparagus and creamed spinach. The last two were just okay. The portion sizes were minuscule compared to the price though. At the end we decided to get another 40oz steak LOL since we thought the sides would be sufficient. This time, the steak was charred a bit more but it was still cooked medium rare. It just tasted a bit drier compared to the earlier steak. There definitely was no consistency in the cooking apparently. Overall it was a good steakhouse. Not sure I'll be back since it's definitely a pricey place but good for a special occasion.

Mary L.

Yelp
The dining experience here was amazing. The brioche bread was warm and buttery. Shared the 40oz dry aged tomahawk between 4 people and it was the perfect amount with a couple of side dishes. The side dishes we ordered was just average - creamed spinach, Mac and cheese, and forest mushrooms. But the presentation of the specialty cocktail was incredible. Highly recommend Secret Cinema and Phoenix Rising cocktails. They offer the most adorable side chairs for your bags too. Our reservation was at 9pm so we missed last call for dessert, otherwise we would have ordered the baked Alaska

Will R.

Yelp
I walked into this place with the hope of great food and a happy atmosphere. Which I was granted barely. Being talked back to and degrade by the waiter who seemed to be acting like he was in the movie The Menu was not a happy experience. The food was then presented l, a bleach smelling old cheese which may be the way it's supposed to be but it did not start off good, then came the appetizers, 2 saltine crackers with some fish stuff on top is not what I was expecting for the price... Then the lobster while it was in shelled it was not worth because I have gotten better lobster at the Lobster Claw. My family said their steak was very at a Texas Roadhouse or Outback Steakhouse. So in total not good.

Maestro L.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with great great service. The tuna tartare was great and Mac n cheese with lobster and shaved truffles. They have a very good wine list but pricey. The bottom line is this is a very good restaurant in a casino, you can get better in the Boston proper area..

Yelp
A group of 6 of us visited on a Thursday night for dinner. I recommend making reservations because it was crowded on a Thursday night! FYI Thursday nights are prime rib nights DRINKS: I ordered a mocktail called the Robuchon (Dhos Gin Free, butterfly flower, lemon, cucumber). Delicious and tart. My other diners othered the other mocktail option and they enjoyed it very much! APPETIZER: My fellow diners and I ordered the New England Seafood Fry which consisted of one jumbo shrimp, a few scallops, handful of calamari and two slices of sweet potato. This was a heavy starter but it was a great dish to share! SIDES: The Rare French fries were surprisingly delicious! Other sides we ordered were the Mac and cheese which was very cheesy but standard, Brussel sprouts and the corn & bacon which I liked the best out of the 3! I also want to highlight how soft and fluffy the bread was - wish I had room in my stomach for me! MAIN: I ordered the 14oz prime rib and it came out beautifully on top of some potato purée and 3 carrots. It was so tender and delicious! I didn't want to stop eating! DESSERTS: We went with the cheesecake and sticky toffee banana pudding cake to share and we just weren't impressed by both desserts - definitely don't recommended. SERVICE: Our waiter Steve was great and very courteous though at one point a used butter knife was dropped on one of my fellow diners and they didn't notice or apologized when we told them.

Yelp
I'm a food and experience girl and let me just tell you, Steve at Rare elevates the food with the experience he creates. The food here is soo good. They offer two prime rib cuts on Thursday's. The prime rib comes with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. I only come on Thursday's for this specifically. In addition to the prime rib, I'd recommend the tartare and crab cake.

Toni T.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying that the service was stellar! Steve was an amazing host, who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. He deserves a raise. A good friend and I went to the casino to blow some money, and I wanted to treat him to a nice meal for his birthday, so I settled on Rare. It's definitely an elegant place, and I'm glad they welcomed us in our work outfits - we looked presentable, but I'll definitely dress up the next time. For starters, I tried the Roasted Maine Lobster Bisque and it was delicious. It was creamy with a spicy kick, and an acceptable amount of lobster - they could have spared a little more. For my main course, I indulged in the Seafood Linguine, and when I say, it was delicious, it was delicious! The side dishes are a la carte - so expect to spend some money- however, they do come in proportions that are shareable. We shared the fingerling potatoes and roasted summer corn, and enjoyed them both. I left there completely satisfied with my whole experience. I just hope that it's a consistent one, as I do plan on returning...once I pay off the last meal.

Julie R.

Yelp
Expensive but you know that walking in. Price is on point with other casino restaurants. Difference is, this one is the best. My husband and I went their for our 16th anniversary. The waiter addressed us by name, got a stool for my purse then went over the elaborate menu. We both got filet mignon (different sizes), shared (a la carte) puréed potatoes followed by 2 desserts. 1st we were served fresh baked, pull apart rolls and we each had a couple cocktails that were excellent. Steak was charred to perfection...a crispy crust and the center was cooked perfect. Husband had pistachio creme brûlée that for some reason he thought would be green (nope). I had chocolate mousse cake that was so good, I will dream about. "Happy Anniversary" was written on the plate, in chocolate. Great restaurant for celebrating something special.

Yelp
Fantastic evening with the best beef in the world. Wonderful wonderful wonderfully birthday dinner at rare. Super surprised to eat such good quality beef. Excellent! Excellent!

Heather M.

Yelp
Pricey and worth it! Delicious! I dare say the service is quite impressive! Customer service is top notch here!!! Food is exuberant prepared! Very upscale! Dress to impress!!!

Yelp
I give it a big fat MEH. We have been here 3 times in the last year and every single time my steak has been undercooked. Like so undercooked it is inedible to me. I ask for my steak (filet) medium well, and it comes out medium rare. My husband gets his steak medium rare and they come out looking the same. I understand not wanting to overcook a steak, but this is severely undercooking. And 3 times in a row for us is unacceptable. The starters and sides are all meh, just very underwhelming. The bread is very good. There are much better steakhouses in the area, so we won't be coming back here.

Fred L.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Rare Steakhouse while exploring Encore, and it turned out to be an absolute gem tucked away in the corner. The ambience inside was stunning, with dim lighting and a cozy atmosphere that made for a perfect dinner spot. I ordered the filet mignon cooked rare, which I usually only do at nice steak houses, and it was crafted to perfection. They hit it out of the park. It was so tender and juicy that it practically melted in my mouth. Honestly, it was probably the best filet mignon I've had all year. The sides that came with it, such as the mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach, were equally as delicious and complemented the steak perfectly. To top it off, they had a very unique bar menu with some great cocktail options. I ended up trying one of their signature drinks, and it was fantastic. The bartender even took the time to explain how he made it and the inspiration behind it, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would highly recommend Rare Steakhouse for anyone looking for a high-end steakhouse experience with impeccable food and great service. It's definitely worth a visit, and I'll be coming back here again for sure.

Mcho A.

Yelp
I wasn't feeling it....the appetizers tasted better than the main course meal. I got a Lobster.. a 2.5lbs $115 lobster. And who wants to eat a lobster and not know they are eating a lobster unless you look down at your plate?? It was not seasoned at all.. there just was no taste at all!!.... And your probably saying maybe it was just me right?.... Well if there was something wrong with my taste buds I wouldn't had noticed that the appetizer tasted delicious... the mushrooms was to die for.... But The drinks were great .. in other words... in short.... My main course meal sucked and everything else was great. My wife got a shrimp scampi and she had no complamints.... But also had no complaints with the shrimp scampi at many other places at half the price.... So I left there $390.00 later bring 40% happy..... Go to MISTIQUE !! You will enjoy the food better there At the casino !!

Ichabod C.

Yelp
The food was incredible. The service was fantastic! The ambience was just right!!!!!! I will 100% be returning! Thank you for an amazing meal!

Ted O.

Yelp
Far too expensive unless you have money to burn. My picture shows how little one receives for $42! Food was good, servers attentive. Relatively loud.

Mimi C.

Yelp
Rare has a very nice atmosphere, probably the best environment compared to all the other fancy steakhouses. However, the food is average. I've been here a few times to celebrate some birthdays but nothing on their entree menu wow'ed me. I have to say their dessert menu was surprisingly amazing the last 5 times I've been there except recently. I went there for Thanksgiving and was looking forward to dessert but was underwhelmed by it. I would recommend Rare for its atmosphere and setting but foodwise, I'd choose Del Frisco, Boston Chops, and even Smith & Wollensky over this.

Bob M.

Yelp
The worst meal my wife and have eaten a many a moon. As mentioned in an earlier review the $115.00 lobster was tough as shoe leather, dried out because it had been cooked, frozen, reheated, and finally served completely tasteless because of the aforementioned. I would expect a better Maine lobster even in the Mojave desert. As to the $60.00 Cod fish you can do way better at your local chippies for $12 bucks. The Rare version of this NE classic is drastically over salted and virtually inedible. As to the oysters they had obviously been shucked many hours earlier and had lost all semblance of their wonderful ocean freshness. I feel so bad for all the birthday, anniversary, graduation party, family, reunions, and other dining cohorts, who are being so unmercifully prayed upon by this monstrously over priced restaurant .

Yelp
Rare @ Encore 12-10-23 Early in the morning, took the only available Saturday night reservation for 6:30. Get there and the place has 10+ empty tables, which remained empty when we left at about 8:30. Puzzling how there is no time available, and the place has many empty tables. Since Rare opened the wife and I have been there many times (12+) and the place is always A++ all around and 5 star, until last night. Last night it was 2 stars tops and a D rating. And I'm totally shocked and disappointed at the sharp turn the place took. While I hope it was a bad night, at over $300 with the tip, will not be back for a while. We started splitting a Caesar salad and it was very good. Served with the great warm monkey bread, we were off to the usual good start. For dinner the wife got Ora King Salmon which she said was great. I ordered Loup De Mer Loup De Mer48 whole fish, coconut, garlic, shrimp, pickled fresno, cilantro. I get whole fish all the time but only at A++ dining places. This failed on so many levels, there was no shrimp, and this was a flat fish and not a whole fish. There is no such thing as serving a flat fish without bones in every bite. The fish was tasty, but bones are a no go. Add it was room temperature and not hot. Shocked. The disappointment continued with a small bowl of mac n cheese, with lobster added. Imagine ordering mac at 18 BUCKS...LOL I know I know, then sucking it up and adding lobster for another 19 BUCKS.... I know I know, then there is maybe 1/2 of a claw meat, and its cold too. $THIRTY-SEVEN DOLLARS FOR A SMALL BOWL... I know I know. Then the clincher which shows they are in trouble and had a change in management. We always get the table side baked Alaska and I've posted videos of this magic. No longer available, the dessert was a table side rum cake with icing on top. The waiter arrives and he has a small pot and hand lighter, He puts it on the table, heats the liquid to a flame and pours it over the top. The flame continues to burn in the bowl and the theory is the icing will melt and coat the cake. Except in this case the cake was almost frozen. The stunning departure to a desert you may find in the local diner told me they no longer cared the cake was almost frozen, the icing did not melt, and I complained. The waitress merely shrugged it off. The service, while always 5 stars also, was just not there. Food served cold, water glass almost empty, no salt and pepper without waiting and asking. Really disappointed, this place has been 5 stars all around, last night they did not care, and the place was not even full. Will not return for a long time, Rare Lounge has been great.

Guli K.

Yelp
Special occassion, splurge worthy dining experience. Extensive menu, liquor and wine selections. Sampled several items off the menu and everything was executed to perfection - highlight was the Japanese Wagyu. Service was attentive. Overall great experience!

Lea L.

Yelp
The 5 stars are for this piece right there, the Kobe. Life changing experience, best I've ever had. The Alaskan crab was meh, I don't recommend it. The potatoes gratin was delicious as well. Drinks were great, but could be improved. Service was great. Atmosphere was alright, I don't understand dress code and all the charlatan when it comes to eating out. Wearing a certain type of clothes won't make your food nor your drink taste better and it's time for high end restaurants to understand that.

Laura H.

Yelp
My husband and I were there last week to celebrate his birthday. We checked in Sunday ..his birthday was Monday but a lot of the restaurants are closed Monday thru Thursday FYI The dining room is very beautiful ...swanky , modern clean design...they do have a dress code but it really didn't seem to be enforced Service was very professional and warm ... we feel like we are very hard to impress as we are both chefs .. The steak we ordered was beautifully charred and cooked to perfection ..excellent quality ....the two appetizers we ordered left much to be desired ... we ordered the tuna sashimi and crab cakes ...,tuna was grossly under seasoned albeit the tuna was excellent quality and the crab cakes , which had great flavor made with beautiful lump crab but they were not seared , arriving Luke warm ...if they were executed properly they would have been perfect. We felt pressure to quickly digest there vast wine list ..we were unable to find a current list online ..the one listed was 2019 My husband did select a modestly priced Pinot Noir ($90) even if he was under pressure. We did not order dessert , their offerings did not appeal to us ..they did send out a complimentary sweet ..very nice gesture ... but I don't think you should give away things that are not your best work ...it really should not have left the kitchen ....

Greg M.

Yelp
Once again this place knocks it out of the park. From the hosts who treat everyone with the utmost respect and treat everyone like VIPs to the servers who are attentive but not overbearing and very knowledgeable. The drink are creative and very tasty and the food put outstanding. The atmosphere it's beautiful comfortable and perfect. Not too loud the tables are not on top Of each other. It's a must try. The experience and that's what it is an experience is worth every penny Keep up the amazing work

Nicole B.

Yelp
Fancy steakhouse inside of Encore Casino. The place is classy and modern. Our dinner consisted of 5 adults, we ordered lots of apps and four entrees to share. The our food was amazing and the drinks were addictive. The spicy margarita was a must order. My favorite side dish was the potatoes purée tasted like butter. I would come back just to eat that side dish. The GM came by to greet us which was nice. The best thing was, the restaurant has seating for our handbags.

June-Young C.

Yelp
If you've got a special occasion or are a degenerate gambler with comp dollars, then this is the place to be. Keep an eye out for special meals on the Encore website. For example, they may have multi course meals, wine pairings, or prime rib specials. Definitely try to reserve ahead of time to avoid issues with capacity. The king cut 24oz prime rib on Thursdays is no joke. In retrospect, the queen cut it plenty of meat, and it is paired with creamy mashed potatoes and some hidden carrots under the steak. I got the seafood tower as an appetizer, but the prime rib deal happened to come with a free glass of red or white wine. The steak is really juicy and it comes with au jus as well. The seafood tower is super decadent. It's typically shared between 4 people supposedly. The oysters and clams are super fresh and they got dry ice. One improvement to make would be to serve the lobster warm or have warm butter to dip it in. Lobster really loses its flavor when it's cold, unless you're eating raw lobster sashimi Japanese style. For dessert, I got a mango sorbet, since I had a really good one at red 8. Too bad they couldn't serve it as the same style with a waffle cone cup. I've also come here for restaurant week and the 7 course meal with 3 different types of steaks. Never a disappointing time at this restaurant. The wagyu steaks are really amazing, but don't expect to get full on them if you're a glutton like me. The free bread can fill you up if you are hungry. The wine pairings on the tasting menu on Sundays is really on point. The wines tasted great with each dish, even with the dessert as well. I've never had wine with a salad before. Maybe I'll do a 5 course tasting next time because that wine was pretty strong, or I need to increase my alcohol tolerance. I'd recommend being a Wynns rewards member so you can use compdollars on your meal after all the times you win (or lose) as a bonus.

Yelp
Rude on the New Year's Eve to our group of four. Will never return. We left and went to another place.

Leu P.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I got the 6oz filet mignon and it was butter. The crème brûlée was also fabulous. All the sides we got was devoured in 60 seconds because we waited for our meal for some time. My friends steak came out too cooked so she had to send it back while she watched us eat our food. Sadly she was the bday girl, and she had to wait. Sucks she had to take one for the team! We didn't wait till she got her steak because we was hungry and if we waited we would of been more hangry. Overall, the food was great but service was ehhh. The high light of the night was the purse chair! Super cute!

Yelp
This is my favorite steakhouse in Boston! I went here yesterday with a friend for their Prime Rib Thursday special. We made the reservation earlier that day so it wasn't too hard. On Thursdays only, they offer either a princess cut (roughly 16 oz) for $36 or a King size (24 oz) for $48. This comes with some roasted carrots and horseradish-whipped potatoes. We both got the princess cut and ordered their King Crab Mac & Cheese as an appetizer. The first thing that came out was their complimentary garlic bread which I absolutely loved! Next was the mac and cheese and it was also very delicious and they gave a decent portion of crab and the cheese was very creamy. Finally, the steaks were also perfect! The steaks were very tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. I usually don't like carrots, but the glaze that they marinated them with had me licking my fingers! The mashed potatoes were also great and they did an amazing job with the presentation. Of note, if the girls want to be extra, they offer tiny chairs to put your stuff on! This was a cute extra thing they did that I haven't' seen in any other restaurant before.

Yelp
AN AMAZING PLACE... WE LOVE IT HERE When I considered where to go for my son's graduation celebration, Rare was my top choice for our party of 6. I feel that this spectacular spot hits the mark in every way... beautiful ambiance that's classy, modern and refined... fabulous, professional service... amazing chow... a professional wine program and an overall feeling that you're in a special place as soon as you step inside the front door. I've been to Rare around six times and every meal has been fantastic. I always look forward to seeing Malik upon entering the restaurant. He rules the dining room with a smile and always seems to find the perfect table for the needs of his guests. Tonight was just perfect... so thankful to the GM, Kevin Cheng, a real pro, who kept a watchful eye on our table all night and checked in with us from time to time... and Rare's amazing chef, Kyle Bradish, for making sure our dinner was special in every way. He and his kitchen staff are doing great things here. We enjoyed a bottle of Champagne while we settled in and looked over the menu. I appreciate the elegant stemware and excellent, proper wine service from their Sommelier... so rare these days. I always seem to get the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Spicy Remoulade... fantastic. Tonight also tried the Shrimp Cocktail... wow, amazing large shrimp and great sauces... Onion Soup, delish... Wedge Salad, Roasted Maine Lobster Bisque.... all great. We had a tasting course of the Domestic Wagyu served with a few Fries... amazing and made our dinner that much more special. Entrees included the surreal Japanese Kobe, Filet Mignon, Georges Bank Diver Scallops served with Alaskan King Crab Saffron Risotto, Bay of Fundy Salmon... all fantastic, perfectly cooked and served hot. Sides included the fabulous Potato Puree, Corn, and Creamed Spinach, all highly recommended. Cocktails, various white and red wines complemented our dishes and raised the enjoyment level. A few desserts, Caramel Apple Crumble, Chocolate Cake and the Vanilla Creme Brulee completed our fabulous dining experience. Much thanks to our server, Daniel, and his support team who didn't miss a beat... providing seamless, caring, professional service. Can't wait to get back to Rare... just such an amazing and special place. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Yelp
Me and the wife finally decided to give Rare Steakhouse a try. To be honest, we were kind of disappointed. We really thought for the price, we would have gotten blown away by the food. Everything was really average tasting. I paid $105 for a 24oz dry aged Porterhouse and it was not great at all. I honestly could've went to Texas Round house and it would've been better. The mac and cheese was nothing special at all. For $18, it was over cooked and not cheesy. It was rough just trying to stir it up. The creamy spinach was probably the most flavorful dish we had on the table... Coming in we had high hopes that everything would be good but it was average . Only thing that was good and superb was their hospitality and customer service. Our waiter was wonderful. Everyone was very attentive . But Rare Steakhouse was not for us. Please still give them a try. Maybe it's just not our cup of tea.

Yelp
I've been to rare a few times for dinner and this is probably my favorite steak place in Boston. The last two times I have gotten the tomahawk and it has been great. Each tomahawk comes with 3 specialty salts and 3 sauces along with the emblazoned long bone. The presentation really is something. I typically don't use the extra salt or sauces but it is a nice touch. The sides i have tried have all been top notch along with the appetizers. Their deserts were also very well made and fresh. The service was great and attentive while allowing us to enjoy our meal. The only downside if you can really call it that is the price. Rare is among the top priced steak places in Boston but for a nice night out if you want the best it's going to cost a little bit. Definitely will be back here in the future.

Yelp
first off Fuck you Charlie Baker! Now this place, i can't state enough good things from start to finish. Had a reservation for 6:15 arrived 10 minutes late because you know traffic. They didn't flinch and they did text me to tell me they were ready for us. The decor, absolutely gorgeous socially distanced and easily 10-15 feet from any other diners. The service, everyone is smiling and happy you are the under those masks or at least faking it. The food, i won't lie, we went hard and heavy here. Started with caeser salad but prior to that, they brought out delicious hot rolls with some ridiculous butter, i ate 4 of them. The Salad was crisp cold and delicious. ordered the crab cake app which had a green blend mixed in with an amazing sauce. The crab cake itself was light and delicious not heavy and buttery like people think they need to do. perfection. The main course, we opted for the wagyu for two which comes out of Idaho and is above Prime grade, you know because James Ash is a bad ass chef and wants you to enjoy that 5 star resort feeling. This was actually the special and only $160. We opted for the gold mashed potatoes, oh speaking i'd gold, there were gold flakes on our meat. seriously I added a fresh lobster tail for $55 because why the fuck not? I had seen the prep video on their instagram and had to have it, it was the cleanest tastiest maine lobster tail i have ever had. Dessert spelled backwards is stressed, we both kind were at this point, very full and unsure of the idea, but fuck it this is date night and damn it we are in a pandemic. So the pistachio creme brûlée it is. People i don't know how to explain it but this thing was perfect sweetness, and filed with real pistachios. Bravo A cappuccino and it's time to go... Chef James Ash you have really put together the best meal of 2020 for me and i want to thank you and your kitchen for that. This state hasn't been kind to the Casino and i hope to god you all stick around.

Yelp
Waited more than an hour because we did not make a reservation in advance. We were pretty frustrated because of long wait times. But food and ambiance of the restaurant did not disappoint us. Servers were attentive as well. Would come back sometime!

Yelp
(a pre-Covid-19 RW experience) It was a real pleasure to visit Rare at Encore in Everett for dinner during Dine Out Boston / Restaurant Week Winter 2020. I was excited to see that they had their Squash Soup and Crab Cake on the menu, since I had considered both during a previous Rare experience. In summary - Crab Cake - good Filet Mignon - tender Potato puree - smooth and dense deliciousness grilled asparagus - firm tender Cheesecake - smooth and creamy goodness. The soup was okay, but I didn't really like the pumpkin seed gremolata. $38 Dine Out Boston 4 course Dinner menu: AMUSE - CHEF'S CHOICE (foigras with cherry) FIRST SQUASH SOUP Sage, pumpkin seed gremolata, pine bud SECOND CHESAPEAKE BAY CRAB CAKE Endive salad, housemade pickles, dill, remoulade THIRD CHOICE OF ONE FILET MIGNON* Potato puree, grilled asparagus, red wine reduction SCAMPI STYLE $10 SUPPLEMENT BAY OF FUNDY SALMON* Fricasee of confit fingerling potato, bacon, braised leeks, bourbon-pickled peppers, mustard cream SHAVED BLACK TRUFFLE $10 SUPPLEMENT FOURTH CHEESECAKE Mango, passionfruit, roasted pineapple I tried the Scampi finish $10 which came with two shrimp with a creamy sauce. At $5 a shrimp, I figured that the shrimp would be the largest I've ever seen - nope. Glad I tried it, but wouldn't upgrade this way again. Service was terrific. Our water was filled numerous times without our lifting a finger.

Yelp
Sooo yummy! They have a summer drink called the "Zephyr" and oh my goodness, whoever created it deserves a raise! The service was amazing, and the quality of the food was superb. I had a delicious steak and their Brussels sprouts are great. I was taken her for my birthday, and they decorated my dessert with a candle and an edible "happy birthday" sign. It is on the pricey side, but it's worth the splurge.

Yelp
Rare at Encore Boston Harbor is one of my most favorite restaurants. That being one of the chief reasons why I chose to celebrate my birthday weekend at the resort. Tonight's experience was unfortunately extremely disappointing. I ordered an 8 oz filet mignon medium and it came out raw. I sent it back and asked if they could please cook it more. The server obliged and returned a few minutes later with my steak still too rare. At this point in the meal, the rest of my party was already done with their meals. Instead of waiting more, I kindly asked him to please take it off the bill. Another note, the assistant server never came over to refill our water glasses once, even after requesting him to do so. I understand they were busy, but the service and food during this experience were inexcusable. At no point did a manager come over to apologize for the meal until the end to discuss a discrepancy on the bill. Very disappointed tonight.

Yelp
Let me start by saying It sucks spending your entire night sick in your hotel room because of the lack of quality control at this restaurant. I went here for my birthday with my girlfriend. Long story short, we got food poisoning and the restaurant and risk management team at encore refused to take responsibility (keep in mind I've been here before with no issues). They launched an 'investigation' ... if that's what you can even call it. My Gf and I felt sick a short while after eating. They insinuated it was because of drinking or something we ate possible 5-10 DAYS PRIOR... my gf had one drink and I had ZERO which was quite insulting to my practiced sobriety and leading up to this meal we ate nothing irregular or suspicious. Oh and the cherry on top was they made me pay for my desert despite it actually being my birthday...any fine establishment will typically comp a desert on your bday. It's safe to say I'll never celebrate a special occasion here ever again and will be sure to tell everyone about my poor experience so they never make the same mistake as me.

Yelp
I used to live in Vegas so i thought I'd check it out..I was happy paying for wagyu steak until they overcooked it! Asked for Medium Rare- got medium/medium well. Got a side of squash and it was undercooked, You can even see the middle is hard/ dark in the pic, wasn't really edible. Unfortunately Bartender did not keep asking if I wanted more wine, or even water ..bit of a hassle to have to ask or find the bartender every time I wanted another drink. I was patient but was really not checked back on at all until I ordered the Wagyu steak, then the bartender was a bit more attentive. That's not cool. Finally I asked to pay my bill because I was over it at that point, I didn't ask for comps or anything and didn't even complain about the overcooked wagyu but Paying the bill took about 30-40 minutes alone because they "gave my check away to another guest" so instead of asking me what I ordered they took a super long time trying to ask the bartender and figure out what was ordered..overall not great and i wouldn't return. Also i'm a chef so it was just sad to me.

Yelp
Event: Bachelor Party Mission: Superb steak dinner I wasn't the organizer, and would've researched more of in town Boston steakhouses, but this was a good choice. We're guests of the Encore so might as well try the steakhouse. Initial impression is good, elegant atmosphere, open layout. Love the spacing, cause the fun is with your table mates, I dgaf about conversations from other tables. Besides, we're loud af too. Drinks selection is good, lots of good top shelf stuff that Scotch and bourbon guys would love. Craft beers a little lacking, some good local selection would do wonders and shows your connection to the community. Wine... eh. So we got a double petite seafood tower, and that checked all the boxes! The selection was good as was the presentation and taste. For steaks we got a couple of tomahawk double cut and a big 60oz. bone-in rib eye to share. Plus a few sides. The steaks were cooked very close to right temp, I'd say a bit over what I'd considered medium-rare, but still very good. We're all medium-rare steak guys, any well-done people can gtfo and just go sit by themselves. Service was excellent, all the servers, bus, runners were polite and efficient. No one reached over/across me to put things down or pick things up, a pet peeve of mine. Servers were quick to check on drinks/refills which is a big plus, we like to drink. Overall impression is good, this place hit all the marks. It's a place I would recommend. The only minor complaint I'd mention is price. I understand these are casino prices, but the taste to value ratio is definitely not there.
