"The scent of roses greets you as you head up to the surprisingly plush lounge and contemporary restaurant. Fresh, authentic dishes come in original combinations and they dry roast and blend their own spices. You must order the breads; the peshwari naan is delicious!" - Michelin Inspector

Booked a reservation for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. Upon arrival our jackets were taken and put away for us , all staff would greet us as we walked , everyone was lovely and polite . The food was amazing the presentation included. Staff even gave us free baileys and dessert for the birthday boy . Overall brilliant experience looking forward to going back.

Four of us had a beautiful meal at Rasam. It was a quiet evening and the entire staff gave us full attention and so carefully took care of all of our needs. I am a vegetarian who also doesn’t eat onion and garlic and even though none of their main dishes could accommodate that, they made me a special meal. Everything was delicious and very beautifully presented. Subtle and interesting flavours, generous portions, colourful plates. They offered us a kitchen tour which was very interesting. Everyone enjoyed the evening. We went there because our taxi driver from the airport recommended it. Very good advice. Highly recommended from us.

A Culinary Gem for Indians and Irish in Ireland If you’re craving an authentic taste of India that appeals equally to Indian expats and Irish locals, look no further than Rasam, a true celebration of flavours, hospitality, and warmth. ### **A Menu That Traverses India** One of the standout features of is its expansive menu, which offers a delightful journey across India's diverse culinary heritage. From the creamy, comforting Butter Chicken to the fiery chatpata pork, the meaty delights like Lamb Rogan Josh are some of my favourites. For Irish guests new to Indian cuisine, the knowledgeable staff is always happy to recommend dishes that balance flavour and spice. ### **Fresh Ingredients, Exceptional Taste** The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite. Whether it’s the aromatic basmati rice, the perfectly spiced gravies, or the soft, freshly baked naans, every dish feels like it has been crafted with care and attention. The flavors are authentic yet not overwhelming, making it an excellent spot for those exploring Indian cuisine for the first time. ### **Impeccable Hospitality** Hospitality is at the heart of the experience here. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure every guest feels welcome. Whether it’s customizing a dish to your spice preference or offering insightful recommendations, their dedication to excellent service sets this restaurant apart. ### **Cleanliness and Comfort** The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, from the dining area to the washrooms. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and subtle Indian decor, creating a space where you can relax and enjoy your meal. ### **A True Culinary Bridge** Rasam has managed to bridge the cultural gap beautifully, offering Indian expats a taste of home while introducing Irish locals to the wonders of Indian cuisine. It’s a place where families, friends, and food lovers come together to share not just a meal but an experience. Whether you’re an Indian longing for a nostalgic meal or an Irish food enthusiast seeking to explore new flavours, Rasam promises an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rasam with my entire team of 24 people, and I must say that it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor that added to the overall atmosphere. But what really stole the show was the food - oh my goodness, the food was absolutely divine! We opted for the 3-course meal, which included a variety of dishes that catered to all our dietary needs and preferences. The staff and owner Nisheeth were incredibly accommodating and took all our dietary requests into consideration. They provided us with the best starter platter, an amazing spread of main courses, and amazing Indian desserts. The wine and mango lassi were also exceptional and complemented our meal perfectly. But what really made our experience stand out was the exceptional service we received from all the staff, including the owner Nisheeth. They were all very attentive, friendly, and accommodating, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Nisheeth even took the time to come over and chat with us, making us feel like valued customers. Overall, I highly recommend Rasam to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. The food is delicious, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We visited Rasam for the first time and we were not disappointed. The staff was extremely courteous and pleasant. The ambience was nice and elegant. The food was amazing! We ordered a Palat patta chat, it was crispy n quantity was good. For mains we ordered the Shakahari Thali n pindi chole on the side. The thali quantity and variety of dishes was good for one person. Mango lassi as a beverage was nice as well. Overall had a good time. Hope to visit again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rasam and began my meal with the Dahi Bhalle as a starter, followed by the Vegetarian Thali for the main course. Portion sizes: Generous—more than enough for one person, ensuring you leave fully satisfied. Food quality: 5/5 – Absolutely top-notch ingredients, fresh and well-prepared. Food quantity: 5/5 – Portions are hearty and more than fair for the price. Taste: 3/5 – If you're a fan of spicy food, this might score higher for you, perhaps a 5/5. However, for those with a milder palate (especially for the Irish among us), adjust your expectations accordingly. Staff behavior: 5/5 – The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and courteous throughout. The ambiance makes it a perfect spot for a cozy date night. Feedback to restaurant owners: please add more vegetarian dishes.

Dining at Rasam was an unforgettable experience, and it wasn’t just because of the incredible food—it was the hospitality that truly set it apart. Nisheeth, the owner, treated us like family from the moment we walked through the door. We were celebrating our anniversary, and he went above and beyond to make the occasion extra special. Nisheeth’s kindness and attention to detail were remarkable. He surprised us with complimentary drinks, gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen (where we got to see the impressive tandoori oven in action!), and even shared fantastic local recommendations for things to do in Dublin. It genuinely felt like reconnecting with a long-lost uncle who wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The food itself was exquisite—each dish bursting with authentic flavors and expertly prepared. And the kulfi dessert? Simply divine! Creamy, rich, and perfectly sweet, it was the best way to end an already phenomenal meal. If you’re in Dublin, Rasam isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to feel at home. We can’t wait to return!

This spot truly stands out in Dublin. The food is absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The staff are warm and attentive, making sure you have everything you need. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, this restaurant is worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Yelp
An excellent Indian restaurant with good service and high quality ingredients. Two of my favorite dishes were the starters. The duck rolls were excellent, a lot of duck, interesting and good sauce. The pork tasted more like a Chinese dish (I was fascinated to try pork in an (Indian restaurant) but it was done perfectly. Had a lamb in a cream curry as a main with the whole sea bass. The lamb had a nice, complex curry but the portion was a little on the small side. Sea bass was a very well prepared dish but be ready to deal with bones. The highlight for me was probably the best garlic naan I ever had, it was incredible. Definitely a very nice meal (though unlike other reviews, probably not what I would pick for my last meal).

Yelp
I'm delighted to tell you that I've been a regular customer of Rasam for over 10 years (check my first review back in 2014!) for many good reasons. I'll start with the quality, Nisheeth, Rohit and entire Rasam team have always delivered exceptional flavoursome authentic Indian dishes made with quality ingredients and care. I've been lucky enough to have a trip into the bustling aroma packed kitchen to see how it all happens, with chefs working clay ovens tossing fresh spices in pans and tending to individual dishes. We love to eat in Rasam, it has such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, on summer evenings with the sun coming through Indian patterned windows and blinds to fill to room with exotic colors. But when not possible to eat in we love to have a Saturday Indian takeaway and this is our goto! We'll often find a nice surprise added extra on the house to compliment our order! If you value hospitality, the team here take care to get to know you and make you feel welcome every visit, I feel lucky to have such a lovely spot so nearby, although I know plenty who travel far and wide for the experience.

Yelp
food was fantastic, staff super friendly, price excellent, best indian food i have had in years.

Darshan S.

Yelp
We came here as visitors from US. The best Indian food and one of the best meals we had in Ireland. The Thalis were amazing and the customer service was excellent!

Breda O.

Yelp
Great food. We had the early bird special tonight. I had the tiger prawn starter. The big prawns were fried in a very light batter which was delicious and very very light. I had the lamb main course (their signature dish). I liked it but preferred my Mom's dish of the mango prawns. We ordered an extra Peshwari Naan - which was excellent. The kulfi for dessert was great, particularly they strawberry. Skip the 'cheesecake'. It looks a bit like cheesecake but but doesn't taste like it. Overall very nice place with some very tasty food.

Yelp
Authentic Indian food, Chefs were specifically flown from India's top-rated hotels. We went for Nonveg thali, served on the silver platter. I being Indian visited most Indian restaurants in the USA, but the food served here was authentic Indian delicacy Chicken, curry, and lamb curry gave a taste of Indian culinary delight. The culinary delights superseds, the other restaurants in Dubli Irland and the USA cities. The owner Mr. Nishith Tak was a top chef at the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai. We could draw a personal interaction as we had sweet memories of the hotel. As a courtesy, he served us Khara Lassi as I was on a gluten-free diet, and two chefs especially made Pani puri water for my family which reminded us of being in the Taj Hotel. We definitely will visit again and recommend authentic Indian delicacy in the city of Dublin.Ireland

Yelp
Constantly gets good reviews, there is not a lot else to add. The only negative was the desserts, not great some very strange cold porridge offering. But in general a good experience

Christiane W.

Yelp
We had such a great experience here. I loved the food, although I can't remember what curry I ordered!! I just remember the starter really standing out it was beautiful! We got a selection of a few different ones and it was so well presented and just delicious. The wine list was great too, and I really liked the Sauvignon Blanc as it wasn't too dry. The owner (I think) was an absolute gent. He loved our baby and carried her around the restaurant talking to her and playing with her so we could eat without having to entertain her. He was a lovely, lovely man and she absolutely adored him. It was just a lovely evening that we look back on with a smile and we really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back

Yelp
You know that feeling when you are in a wine shop and you see the wine in the really ornate bottles shaped like something like a spanish bull (not sure how different that is to an Irish bull but hay-ho), or some such. you immediately know that the contents are going to be awful, I mean 'I cant believe I paid more than the cost of the manufacture of the bottle' sort of territory... This place gives me the same feeling from the outside, so many plaques and awards that you think there's no way it can be that good But it is! They go to extremes on the menu - telling you what region in India each dish is from and I'm sure someone finds that jolly interesting but it is beyond my ken I'm afraid. All I can tell you is the food is very very good.

Jane D.

Yelp
Love this place. Amazing veggi options, nice decor and friendly staff. I've been here many times and plan on returning. A++ vegetarian or meat platter main course is a must. arrives on fantastic plate and has many delicious dishes to try. mango sorbet is a must also.

Trinka D.

Yelp
This is an amazing gourmet style Indian food that is both pleasing to see as well as pleasing to eat. I'm always searching for authentic and delicious Indian food and I was happy to find Rasam in the Dun Laoghaire area of Dublin. I ordered MURGH MAKHANI for the main dish which is chicken in a beautifully smooth and complex red sauce. I would come back to eat here whenever I am in the Dublin area.

Nora M.

Yelp
Good Indian food, friendly staff. Comfortable seatings. Best Indian food in dun laughrie. I enjoy Ananda in Dundrum better for the twists and excitements that they add to the Indian cuisine.

Dev S.

Yelp
I am a big lover of food, and Indian food un-deniably tops the list in terms of cuisines. This country probably has more 'Indian' restaurants per kilometer than any other country (other than India), Yelp search results in more than 100 just in Dublin city... ...but Rasam is the only place I have been to (and no, I haven't been to the 100+ in Dublin) that is authentic to the true sense of the word and is way better than many restaurants in New Delhi. I have tested my theory with other friends visiting Ireland from India and the verdict is unanimous. This is not a place where you'd go after a few litres of your favourite brew looking for the hottest curry, or a place where regardless of what you order you are asked if you want mild, medium or hot; because that's not what Indian food is all about :-) There is no dish on the menu that ends in 'balti' or 'bhoona' which usually is my cue to walk away from any restaurant claiming to be Indian. The food is just to die for, both the preparation and presentation are very impressive. The menu is carefully designed and they revise it on a regular basis. No one will go hungry with options suited for the brave and those who don't like it too spicy, for committed carnivores and vegetarians, and most dishes would suit coeliacs, just stay away from the awesome breads. Leaving the food for your tastebuds to judge, the ambience is excellent and always makes for a special evening. Seating, furnishings, lighting all done in a very classy manner. There is the right touch of ethnic Indian decor without going over the top tacky. One more time, I am compelled to compare this to upscale restaurants in New Delhi / Mumbai and this place stands on its feet when compared. Lastly, the staff - not enough can be said in praise of such knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Ask them about anything on the menu and they will make sure you don't have to play roulette with impressive dish names that you pretend you understand :-) Highly recommended for anyone who would like to taste authentic Indian food, served by professional staff in a classy ambience...

Yelp
Had a lovely meal here last night. The pork starter from the early bird menu was top class and the lamb main was very enjoyable too. I also pinched some of my girlfriend's chicken curry and kept going back for more. IMO it's better than Ananda which seems to get all the plaudits but I said that to a 'foodie' friend and he laughed me out the door. But I guess it's all about opinions. Only reason I would dock a star is the service. They are extremely pleasant but rotate the tables rather than sticking to one and it seems very clear they are understaffed. Took a good while to get the bill and longer to pay it, which always leaves a sour taste (despite being all too common).

Linda O.

Yelp
Excellent dinner last week. There were 10 of us. We enjoyed lots of different Indian dishes, and they were all superb. Wait staff is excellent, truly professional but friendly too. Lovely offer of 2 bottles of wine on the house at the end of the evening a wonderful touch ! We will be back !

Euge S.

Yelp
I was never a fan of Indian until this eve. Taste explosion with very friendly excellent service. Highly recommend giving it a go. Everything tasted so fresh too.

Ryan And Jenna J.

Yelp
We had one night to spend in Dun Laoghaire and stumbled upon Rasam. It was a perfect valentines dinner, and probably the best Indian food we've ever had! We sampled a few vegetarian dishes and the spinach dumplings were remarkably delicious! Highly recommended--even if you're in Dublin, visit Dun Laoghaire for a day or two-it's beautiful and the Indian food is worth the 20 min DART ride.

Laina H.

Yelp
I'm a solo traveler and sometimes it's awkward to get a table for one. I was immediately seated with a very warm welcome. I'm very fortunate to get to travel a lot and this was the best experience I've ever had. The service was first class and the meal was by far the best I've had. Thank you!

Yelp
Rasam is a indian restaurant in Dun Laoghaire in Ireland. All I can say is YUM! YUM! YUM!. Me and my friend got a take away from here and both had the Aloo Baingam, which is a main course dish with potatoes and aubergines. Words couldnt describe our delight at this fabulous melt in the mouth concoction and the really above average basmati rice that accompanied it. Our peshwari nan was delicious too. Had a lovely glass of Fleurie while waiting for the food. The interior is absolutely gorgeous too and we will be back to sit down and eat as soon as possible.

Matty M.

Yelp
Main courses are great. Vegetarian platters are impressive and delicious. Starters all felt slightly over deep fried. Service very good. Restaurant layout could be better.

Nayan B.

Yelp
Being an Indian worst experience i have ever had as i was being asked to spend minimum 15 euros (per head) to eat inside, i felt so disappointed when we sat on a table and a manager explains same thing before i have started placing an order. It may have been a good experience for non Indian ethnic people but i'll never recommend my friends to go there.

Baz K.

Yelp
Lovely decor. We were a bit surprised as we entered. Atmosphere was very comfortable and there was a packed house by 9 o'clock. It had a bit of a family atmosphere with 20 and 30 something's out for dinner with parents. No kids that late at night. Food was very good and we had a lovely meal. It's a good venue for veggies to get delicious veg dishes. We had lamb and chicken . Both were delicious. The chicken was thigh meat which was different then the usual breast meat. We had to ask for more nan bread as the portion we ordered was very small. I don't know why they skimp on something so cheap. It's a pain to have to ask It has to be said that the sauces were tasty but later that evening both myself and my partner had indigestion and we both remarked on it. We will have to try this place again.

Kevin S.

Yelp
We are spoiled, as we live only a 5min walk from this wonderful Restaurant. Many people associate Indian food with 'hotness', but here, all is about the flavour, the spices, the enjoyment of the dish. There is a variety of dishes for almost all tastes. I cannot eat Fish/Beef/Lamb/Pork or meat off the bone, but I still have an array of dishes to choose from. The Staff here are absolutely lovely & chatty, full of helpful advice with dishes. We were last here on 26/08 for an 18:30 sitting......the place was packed, as usual...I love to be in a place that rocks like this - give it a whirl! :)

King B.

Yelp
working in silicon valley there is no shortage of indian restaurants (sadly, most mediocre) - I was a bit apprehensive about eating Indian at my first dinner in dublin but I was pleasantly surprised by the tremendous food & service at Rasam. the entire party cleared their plates from appetizer through dessert - a good sign the food was enjoyed! definitely worth a visit

Michael P.

Yelp
If you like Indian cooking you will love this restaurant. A globe-trotting friend thinks its among the best he has eaten in - anywhere.

Brendan S.

Yelp
Confession: maybe I just don't like authentic Indian food. I wished I'd ordered something else for every course. I wished they'd had a salty lassi to help me wash down my unrecognisable meat and indistinguishable sauce. Maybe the fuss was to blame, but I feel like I've had the same in Khans or Chandni (before it closed). Leaving, I thought I'd happily return with friends; but it will be them picking the venue, not me. If I want Indian food, I'll head to Ananda. I don't know if that's authentic, but I know I like it.

Rachel M.

Yelp
In a leauge of it's own when it comes to Indian food in Dublin. Not one to ever choose it personally, until I dined here. It was delicious and the whole party enjoyed the meal from start to finish. Staff are lovely and the ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous. I'd be back!! Mayb Hittin Rachel's top 5 restaurants in the area!!

Sonia R.

Yelp
Came here on our last night in Dublin... food was great (and I'm Indian so that's saying a lot). We ordered the non-veg Thalis... which was a ton of food. The waiters were willing to customize the plates based on food preferences. Super nice, somewhat upscale ambiance and friendly, attentive wait staff. Would highly recommend!!

Guru P.

Yelp
Crap. That all I have to say. Bad service, food is mildly better than food served as curry in pubs. If you don't buy drinks, forget about any manners from servers. Dressed like 1970 patronising printed shirts, behaves like they do in Pakistan (or looking down at any one they afforded to, look up to someone who is ordering lot of drinks, you get the point). Definitely not recommended going there with kids. Very poor experience in the end.

Ange H.

Yelp
Pure absolute rubbish food went with friend early bird on a Friday ordered potatoes cakes which were two tiny blobs of mash potatoes disgusting. Ordered prawns in mango sauce was a bowl of soup with about 5 prawns in it really disappointing. Would not recommend for both of us came to 60euro most rubbish food I was ever served my friend thought never again way way low standard. What is all the fuss about this place should be seriously checked out for low standard and what their serving.

Doug W.

Yelp
The best Indian restaurant for miles around. Great service only topped by the quality of the food. A must try.

Qype User (paullo…)

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant for 4 - 5 years. They are doing their best to maintain standards. But it's hard. Value for money - fair. Service unfailingly good though.

Paddy F.

Yelp
Never disappoints. Great value early bird. If you like Indian food do not miss this restaurant.
