Ratatouille Food & Wine

Ratatouille is an amazing restaurant that gave me a truly memorable Michelin dining experience. I chose the 5-course menu (€130), and both the starters and mains were excellent. The appetizers were beautifully presented — you couldn’t immediately tell what ingredients were used, yet every bite was perfectly balanced. The marinated herring was also prepared in a unique, nontraditional way, fresh and full of delightful surprises. Please don’t skip the bread — it’s absolutely delicious. One type has a crisp crust with a soft, sesame-scented center that makes your mouth water, while the other is slightly chewy with a savory flavor — both fantastic. If you love wine, I highly recommend going for the pairing option; it’s worth the extra cost. The service was warm, attentive, and at the level you’d expect from a Michelin restaurant. Each course comes with its own wine, but if you’re worried about drinking too much, the staff can adjust the portions.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a three-course lunch menu at this restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Each course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of rich, well-balanced flavors. The ingredients were fresh, and the portion sizes were just right—not too heavy but still satisfying. The service was top-notch—attentive, professional, and incredibly friendly. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in, always ensuring everything was perfect. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a warm, stylish interior that added to the overall dining. Parking was convenient, with on-street parking available and a car park just 100 meters away for those driving.

We had a very enjoyable lunch with an excellent wine and alcohol free pairing. The food was very well prepared, and perfectly presented, we were only disappointed by the dessert which in our opinion lacked a bit of flavour compared to other dishy. But we would definitely recommend, the service was great and we will happily go back!

If you are looking to get away from the business of Amsterdam, head over to Haarlem - an equally beautiful and charming city with a small town feel. Nestled on one of the main streets in Haarlem overlooking the canal, Ratatouille Food & Wine is not only a wonderful experience because of the food but also the location in such a historic and beautiful city. My partner and I really enjoyed our first Michelin star dining experience at Ratatouille. The restaurant atmosphere is approachable and relaxing. Service was extremely professional and courteous, and our server gave us excellent recommendations for wine pairing with our food. We chose the chef’s menu which included six courses in which we had a variety of seafood, vegetables, and duck. The food was absolutely delicious and flavours were outstanding. We tried foods that were out of our comfort zone, but it was well worth it! Each course paired various flavour, texture, and color to create an outstanding culinary experience that we won’t soon forget. Every detail of our experience from start to finish felt well thought out, and we felt truly cared for by the staff. There wasn’t a moment where our water or wine glasses were empty, and our servers explained each dish to us and answered any questions we had about the food. It was lovely to meet the chef after our meal as well!

Everything was perfect for our birthday celebration. My husband is not a big fan of seafood but he also enjoyed all seafood dishes! You will get various dinings filled with seafood+ meat. Food was very detailed and delicious! Many dishes surprised us so much! we can see they put a lot of efforts on each dish! Amazing!

From the outside, you cannot see just how wonderfully elegant this restaurant is. The interior is spacious and there is enough room between the tables so that the feel is intimate. The service by every member of the team was impeccable. They are all friendly and knowledgeable and readily explain each course and the wine pairings to you. I was in a group of four, two had the vegetarian tasting option and two had the fish/meat choice. All of the courses were simply irresistible. One of my courses was their signature dish, Ratatouille. I have never had such a delightful dish. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for that special occasion.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here in June 2023 with a last second booking for a small celebration and we were not disappointed at all. I find sometimes really difficult to judge 1 Michelin Star restaurants as the variability (especially on the service and especially in The Netherlands is really high). I tried all the Michelin stars in Haarlem and Ratatouille is, for my tastes, one step ahead of the others: technically complex dishes, well executed and taking you through a journey of flavors throughout the evening; excellent service as the staff was competent, kind and really passionate; the place itself is then a marvel.

My wife and I went for a very nice dinner to Ratatouille on Christmas day. The service, atmosphere and of course the food and wine were on an incredible high level. We did choose the premium wine pairing option as we wanted to try some new, special wines that we never had before. It was a dream to eat and drink at Ratatouille once again and hope we may experience this in the future again when we're back in Haarlem. Thanks to all cooking and wait staff for the perfect meal experience we had. Chapeau !

My husband decided to make a lunch reservation at Ratatouille during our 22 hour layover at Schiphol airport, and we had such a wonderful experience there. The service, the food, the ability to see into the kitchen and watch as the dishes were being prepared...everything was great. My husband had the standard 3 course lunch special while I had the vegetarian version, and we were both very pleased. The three course menu actually had an extra course of several tiny appetizers before the first course, as well, which was an excellent tasting of different unique items. The ratatouille (main course for today's vegetarian lunch) was definitely my favorite, though!

In love with the food here. Everything they served tasted amazing. Service was professional and delightful. I also love how they are flexible with the menu if you happen to have any crazy food allergies.

This was my first Michelin star dining experience and my expectations were high, and Ratatouille met and exceeded them. I loved that the menu looked like down to earth dishes, but ended up blowing my tastebuds away. There was a good mix of traditional hearty food and gastro-fusion innovative taste explosions. The service was excellent, although it did slow down as the evening went on and the restaurant got busier. I ordered the 4 course menu which was a lot to eat but totally worth the full tummy afterwards, and I was blown away by how reasonable the prices are! If you're in the area (and even if you're not), I highly recommend stopping into this Haarlem gem!
