The 27 Best Breweries in Denver | Eater Denver

"With a satellite taproom in Overland, this RiNo staple is more than a brewery, it’s a community hub, hosting events such as comedy shows and pop-up craft markets, release parties with DJs and food vendors, and much more on the regular. In that come-one-come-all spirit, it brews a wide range of styles; though it’s arguably best known for saisons like the much-awarded Dear You and carrot- and elderflower-infused King of Carrot Flowers as well as its barrel-aged imperial stout Genius Wizard, the tap lists at any given time range from juicy IPAs to chocolate-rye Scotch ales." - Eater Staff

Google
A great spot to start or stop by when you're in the RiNo district. They offer five beer flights, with a wide selection to choose from, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options to enjoy. Whether you're looking to relax or explore the vibrant atmosphere of the area, it's a perfect place to unwind.

Google
loved this place. came on Wednesday for comedy show, which was free and funny. it happens in the brewery back which is really charming. came back next day just because they have a food truck outside, and you can bring the food in. the carrot beer is so tasty. music is good but it's not dancing music. still, very nice place to hang.

Google
Good fruited sour on the sour side, but not the heavily fruited or even smoothie style sour was hoping for. Had one of my favorite local beers from ratio at another bar which I passed on at the brewery first sounded odd, but the saison w carrot was a real winner glad I ended up trying it. The tender there said it use to be even more carroty and liked it even better and I wouldn't have been opposed to that too. Nice large outdoor area, although big inside too

Google
Ratio never disappoints, and is one of my go-to breweries in the RiNo area. While by no means empty - at 1pm on a Saturday, we easily found a shaded spot on the patio. It was a low-key spot to to begin a day of brewery hopping.

Dj

Google
First timer here and it was incredible. I paired it with a homemade quesadilla and it hit the spot. Crisp and light how I like it.

Google
May 11, 2024 Amanda, Kali, and I went to Rino Art District in Denver for Ricks Birthday. We got a drink at Ratio Brewing, Finns Manor, Gold Point, The Block Distillery, and American Bonded! We even got to enjoy amazing Hibachi Burritos from Mile High Hibachi!

Brittany Johnson

Google
Lively Rino taproom with a punk-rock vibe. They make a lot of different styles of beer so most beer fans should be able to find something they like. They also have a margarita-style hard seltzer on tap at my last visit and it was incredibly refreshing.

Ernesto Casas

Google
Neat brewery with lots of good drinks and seating options.

Yelp
Good spot to hang out and enjoy a beer or two in the RiNo. The Hold Steady scotch ale is still my go-to beer here. We each enjoyed two while relaxing and watching the world go by.
google avatar

Allen C.

Yelp
Decent brewery with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, with places to catch up w/ friends and share a few beers. Staff seemed a bit distracted and the service was a bit off for the standard brewery/bartender, but we eventually all got what we needed. Ambiance is standard distillery/brewery warehouse vibe. Maybe slightly hipster if that's your thing (or a deterrent).
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Very spacious brewery with lots of seating. Beer selection is kind of small but the carrot beer was tasty.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Visited the brewery on a Sunday afternoon with a baby. Brewery had no diaper changing stations. When asked the bar tender, they told me I had to go to my car to change the baby. Left without any options, I had to change the baby on the table in the brewery. Not a sanitary solution. Very disappointing as there were at least 3 families with strollers at the same time as we were there.

Yelp
Went here for the first time during GABF. We were excited to try the place. The beer was AMAZING. We ordered the Fresh Hopped Antidote and the Hold Steady. They both were delicious, although the Hold Steady (scotch ale) was not completely true to form. The bartender accidentally poured a King of Carrot Flowers and said it was ours on the house. This beer had just won a gold medal at GABF. I can see why! It was not a style I usually try, but so glad I did. It was to die for. Totally worth a visit!

Yelp
Ambiance: very spacious brewery, outdoor spaces both in front of the establishment and in the backyard, there is also an old fashioned Photo Booth Service: very fast and patient with questions and requests, provided helpful suggestion Drink: variety choices for beer, and flights available per requests No Shade - *** czech-style pilsner, average Photobooth - *** lemon blonde ale, fruity taste Handwritten - *** belgian wit, light Dear You - **** citra french saison, crisp taste, recommend King of Carrot Flowers - ***** carrot elderflower saison, the most special one, highly recommend Antidote - *** west coast ipa, ordinary Sparks Fly - **** juicy ipa, refreshing, recommend Price: standard draft beer prices, which costs about $20~$30 per person

Yelp
I was impressed! Great service, nice seating, and the recommendation of the King Carrot saison was spot on. Sweet but not overly so, with some nice complexity. The interior is decorated cute too- recycled item chic. I would go again and recommend it.

Yelp
What a great brewery! Part of the RiNo district within Denver. You're bound to find great food nearby from all the excellent food trucks. NY style pizza, Tibetan or Venezuelan and more.. Take your pick and enjoy it with a good Ratio brew! Their Golden Ale is a delicious light beer, but the dark scotch ale was tasty too. I managed to drop by during a comedy night, which was a treat! Inside there's plenty of room to chill, but there's even more space outside if the weather is comfortable. Worth a visit!

Yelp
You can throw a rock and hit a brewery in Denver.... but Ratio is a MUST visit now that we have been here! We came back twice in 3 days. Yes, it was that great. Super cute space indoor and out. Outdoor seating with misting units were CLUTCH on a super hot day. The staff was very kind and the beers were amazing. Stand outs were the Carrot Elderflower Sour and the Lemon Blonde. Just go. You're welcome.
google avatar

Jami W.

Yelp
Environment and location are great. The outdoor area is welcoming and invites pets. The blood orange ipa was perfect
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
We came here on a warm Saturday and sat on the street facing patio which had great people watching. Must works better on the patio within the fence so note that on a hot day. Service was quick, they had a Photo Booth and records for sale, bathrooms weren't single stall and the beer prices were fair! Loved the king of carrots beer especially!
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I got a flight so I could try a variety of beers and liked them all! The best one was definitely No Shade. Light, crisp and tasty. Ended up getting another. The ambiance in the outside area was awesome.
google avatar

Robert N.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer when they were very busy, but since they have a good amount of space both indoor and outdoors that wasn't an issue. They also were slinging the beers very quickly so the wait wasn't too bad either. They were very heavy on IPAs so, if you aren't an IPA fan your options might be limited. They didn't have any sours that I saw, but did have a saison and a Kolsch, as well as a Pilsner. My only complaint was the volume of the music was unreasonably loud. It was loud to the point of having to yell at our own table of four just to converse. We asked them to turn it down but they didn't. Unfortunately it drove us out after one beer since we couldn't talk to each other. TL:DR - good beer, fair price, LOUD
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Staff here was very friend and helpful in telling us their favorite beers. The variety of beer was great, our group had two lagers. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating choices with a cool vibe.
google avatar

Casey M.

Yelp
Ratio is one of my favorite spots in Rino to head for a beer. I love that they have not one but two huge outdoor patios that's are shaded and come with misters. The fact that dogs are allowed on the back patio is a huge plus too. Overall I'd say the beer here is decent they have some really good options especially if you're an IPA fan. However, they have a carrot saison called King of Carrot Flowers that is one of my favorite beers of all time. It is so unique I can't even try to explain it you just have to go try it for yourself. The bright orange color is a fun plus as well! Pro tip: there's often a food truck parked right outside if you're looking for something to eat as well.
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Great experience elevated by a great bartender. Did a couple of flights to get most of what they have and it was all solid.

Jasmine F.

Yelp
We stopped here as part of the Bike and Brewery Tour and it was so cute. The bartender was very helpful and able to make good suggestions. The music wasn't too my taste but hey ....everyone was nice and the beer was tasty.

Yelp
This was one of the first breweries I ever went to in denver and I've been back multiple times. The location can't be beat and the combination of indoor and outdoor seating makes it perfect for all weather. I love their Antidote or Sparks Fly IPA
google avatar

Yelp
So while in Rino on my own brewery tour I came across this place. I've always heard good things about them but just didn't have time to check them out. I was at 10 Barrels down the street and I was asking the lady bartender where should I go next. She said have you been to Ratio and I said no then she said they have some good beers. Ok so I walk into Ratio and the inside is spacious and they have a patio on the side of the building and a patio on the street too. I took a look at their menu and I was impressed they have some Imperial Stout at some high ABV which I love. I got a flight and was amazed with their beers because they were just so tasty. Out of all the breweries I went to on this trip I can honestly say Ratio has the best beers. If I come back to Denver I will for sure be drinking beer here again. If you have the opportunity to come here please do because it's a can't miss brewery!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Ratio Beerworks off Larimer is such a dope spot! Great beers, awesome space inside and out, and the music of choice throughout the brewery is immaculate. I love coming here and showing support, staff is also super nice and informative too. Definitely stop by when you're in the area!
google avatar

Brett K.

Yelp
Great beer, great service, awesome patio! My wife and I came in on Wednesday and brought our dog. The beer tender realized it was pretty hot outside, and even though we were really the only people outside, she turned on the misters for us :)
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite brewery in Denver. The beers are consistently great, they have some fun experimental and original concoctions, and the punk rock vibe is always bringing me happiness. The patio is really nice, also. It's really a basic site without bells, whistles, or gimmicks. I highly recommend checking it out.

John R.

Yelp
Honestly beers awful. Domestica tastes like dog water. The cityscapes "Mexican lager" tastes like a malty Busch lite. Tried to put a lime in the monstrosity, the server said "we don't have food here." Terrible disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
While doing some brewery hopping in the Denver area, my husband and I came to ratio beer works. It was quite a busy day so we ended up snagging a spot outside on the patio. They have a nice mix of both indoor and outdoor seating. There is also plenty of shade and they are dog friendly. I did a flight to try a nice variety of their lighter beers. All of them were very refreshing. My husband enjoyed some of their various IPAs. Definitely a nice spot to hang out and chat with friends.
google avatar

Aditi S.

Yelp
We checked this place out on a Tuesday night to try out some beers. While some were good, a couple weren't that great so our experience was varied. Regardless the staff was friendly, the patio was welcoming, and they had free stickers! Recommend checking this place out if you are walking by and try some of the lighter beers.

Yelp
Only grabbed a quick beer here with a friend but I really enjoyed the atmosphere (and the beer!)

Yelp
When I think of Denver - I think of breweries (well the Rockies and breweries). And upon visiting Denver, it is easy to get overwhelmed trying to fit all of the good and worthwhile breweries into a visit. Ratio Brewworks is one of those breweries that NEEDS to be worked into any beer lovers stop. We happened upon it on a Saturday and hit it up because it was open before all of the other breweries in the area (11 opposed to noon). I had never heard of it before, so we popped in to give it a try. The brewery is located in RiNo (river north) which is a really near neighborhood with a lot of breweries, good trucks and wall art. The girl behind the bar was super friendly and, giving us the brewery background. She was really into Ratio and really pumped us to try ALL the brews they had on tap. Wish I could remember her name to give her a shout-out on here. You could order flights in increments of 4 or 5 and since they had 12 brews it was easy to order them all to try. My favorite was the the double brown and the runner up was their Carrot brew (sounds weird I know but it was soooo good). They have a neat outdoor patio as well as plenty of seating inside. It also seems to be where a lot of brew tours stop so you know it's gotta be up there in the top brewery stops in Denver. There is also a photo booth there that you can get photos done but it didn't seem to be working when we were there. We had a good time and plan to be back whenever we are in the Denver area next.

Yelp
Came on a recommendation and Ratio didn't disappoint. Great space, great ambiance, great beers. Thanks!

Yelp
Another fun Denver brewery that we have gotten beer from recently! We got four different beers from Ratio and we all enjoyed them a lot! Float On was one beer that we had. A Hefeweizen that had a good balance of flavor to it! Not too heavy handed with clove, banana or bubblegum flavors that I experience with type of beer... a little too often unfortunately. But again, no issue with one flavor dominating the whole beer which was a definite plus! New Wave was another beer we had, a Strawberry Sour Ale or Berliner Weisse beer as the description shows. And again this beer was handled very well in flavor. In the recent past I've found fruited beers to be a bit too sweet in the recent past and heavy in volume from other breweries. But not a problem here. This was a light beer and the Strawberry feature complimented the rest of the beer very nicely! A fun beer to drink! Cityscapes was a Mexican Lager we had too! I do love my Mexican Lagers and this one wasn't bad at all. But it wasn't my favorite out of the four. It wasn't the most "wow" inducing for me as far as Mexican Lagers go because I really like the ones with hints of lime or tequila. Roots Radical was the last out of the four of the beers we had. A Citrus Beet Saison this was a fun one as you don't come across beet very often when it comes to craft beer and it was very refreshing to have a saison again. Like the first two beers the flavors were balanced very well! And of course I wouldn't feel like I've had the complete brewery experience without delving into their merchandise. Succumbing to their awesome t shirts I had a result of two t shirts from the purchase!

Yelp
Our first of many brewery stops while in Denver. This one caught our attention with the fun murals on the outside. It was a beautiful day so we sat out on the patio and enjoyed our drinks along with some sunshine. Like most breweries in the area, Ratio is dog friendly, so it was nice to see a variety of canines hanging out too. Our beer was very refreshing and made for the perfect afternoon treat.
google avatar

Yelp
Hardcore Punk Happy Hour and great beers. Nuff said. Nuff said. Nuff said. Love minimum character requirements on these reviews.
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
I've been to this brewery several times, both in the winter and summer. Whoops, totally forgot to write a review! It's a solid go-to spot for beer in Denver, right in the heart of RiNo. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Dog-friendly, too. You can either order at the bar or with a server. All their beer has been great in my experience. Not to much of a selection (and one time they ran out of IPAs) but I've expanded my taste buds beyond the hops because of Ratio Beerworks. Next time I'll have to drink at the bar and try a flight. Like many other Yelpers mentioned, the staff is great and super knowledgeable about the beer, so don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. Parking in RiNo can be challenging. You might have to walk a block or two (especially if roads are closed) but it's so worth it!
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
With stiff competition on the same street, let alone the state of Colorado, Ratio still stands out from the pack. Fun people with high energy and huge amounts of passion for brewing great beer. *FREE COVID DELIVERY WITHIN A FOUR-MILE RADIUS* So here's the deal. According to maps, I technically live 4.5 miles away from Ratio. No harm, no foul. They still allowed me to purchase beer and didn't ask for a delivery fee. Score! Last night was my roommate's birthday and we had to celebrate. Ratio is one of our favorite breweries, and though we miss the courtyard, the cornhole and the atmosphere, we wanted to make the most of the current situation. Ratio canned two beers for the first time. Heart Tattoo Blackberry Belgian Wit and Rooftops Mexican Lager. The former is fantastic! It almost tastes like a boozier kombucha, tart with a gorgeous purple/deep red hue. The kicker was the contactless delivery from Hunter, a Ratio employee wearing a cowboy hat and a red bandana in the snow. What a bad ass! Remember, now more than ever, support the local businesses that make Denver awesome. Ratio is certainly one of them!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome brewery with super fun patio. Not only are their beers fantastic but they are great people who support their local artists. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Brad L.

Yelp
The Ratio had many great flavors of beer and great environment. They offer flights and every beer we tried had a unique and great flavor.
google avatar

Griffin M.

Yelp
Poor service. Multiple employees rude to our group for no apparent reason as we ordered.
google avatar

Chad P.

Yelp
After visiting lots of breweries while in Denver, this ended up being one of my favorite spots. There was a taco truck outside with a huge misting tent. The al pastor tacos were fire, especially if you like your tacos a little spicy. Order a beer from inside, then sit outside and enjoy the brews and food.
google avatar

Stacey H.

Yelp
Great beers and vibes! We came here during my bachelorette weekend during a day of brewery hopping and it was one of our favorite locations! The outdoor seating space is very inviting and there were misters going since it was a hot day to make the space more comfortable. We found the staff friendly and attentive, they got through the line quickly. They also let us try a sample before getting a pint which is always nice. Their brews were easy drinking but still complex and interesting. Friends in our group also picked up some cans to go and t-shirts.
google avatar

Jamie H.

Yelp
Sparks fly (juicy hazy IPA) might be one of the best beers in Denver. Unbelievably well done!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Delicious beers, Great Music, & always a good time at one of the best breweries in RiNo. Ratio is one of the best breweries in RiNo, if not also in Denver. They are consistently putting out good beers, weather it's their flagships like their CityScapes Mexican Lager or Seasonals like their Darklands Dark Lager. Ratio has an amazing amount of outside space, thanks in part to Larmire being shut down for more outdoor seating. They also have an impressive inside space that has room for private events in the back. One of my all time favorites is on tap currently, but not for long, The King of Carrot Flowers, it's a carrot and Elderflower Saison. It's perfect for the fall and has all the right flavors that just makes you want more. Don't sleep on this brewery, definitely a top 10 in Denver!
google avatar

Katie F.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a good microbrew. Now, add creative hoppy brews on tap, a killer patio, friendly service, and 2-for-1 drafts on the Denver Passport and YOU HAD ME AT HELLO. This is exactly what Ratio serves up. Mostly. So when the boys and I set out for a day brewery hopping downtown and stumbled (literally) upon Ratio, I was excited to experience all this place had to offer.  ++ The patio is bomb, featuring community tables and sunshine of all shapes and sizes to accommodate parties of all sizes. The interior is somewhat spacious but the entire spot fills up pretty fast. ++ Staff was beyond helpful and allow for free samples before choosing a pint! ++ 2-for-1 drafts in the Denver Passport really is the perfect price! Pricing does range depending on the beer style, so be prepared to spend anywhere between $4 - $9/ beer.  ++ Food trucks frequent out front - which change often, allowing for a snack to soak up the beer! +/-The brews are super unique and full bodied with intense flavor! I opted for the IPA which was delicious but a little hoppy for my taste (and I love hops!). However, I've heard good things about their seasonal brews! My husband and friend had a hard time choosing what to order as only traditional craft beers are offered. It's definitely not for all palates. - I'm definitely the least punk rock person so when we entered and heard the punk tunes and grunge vibes I was a bit turned off. However, I have nothing against it, it's just not my jam. After all is said and done, I wasn't blown away by this brewery, but will have to give it another shot this summer!

Yelp
It was so hard to pick which breweries I wanted to visit while we were in Denver. I picked Ratio based on proximity to where we were earlier in the day and recommendations from the Denver Beer reddit community for having some more interesting beer options in the sour realm. They did not lead me astray. Ratio had some good sour beers and I loved that they do different events all the time - on our visit they were doing a free comedy show but we got in there a bit late so couldn't hear all the way in the back. They also have food trucks come, which is awesome. I prefer when breweries focus on their beer and let different trucks come - it keeps it interesting. They also have a very clear two line system for ordering at the bar. It was orderly. I got the carrot saison while my friend got the raspberry Belgian I think it was. Both were delicious, but sadly the raspberry one was not for my friend, who reacted pretty badly to it (Asian genes) but liked the flavor. I finished her beer and she let us stay for one more (the beet one) while we checked out the free comedy show in the back room. It was a bit too packed for us to really hear so we ended up leaving for the next place. I could see myself coming here if I lived in Denver.
google avatar

Sennett L.

Yelp
We came here based on a recommendation from our tour guide and we were glad we did. We got a flight and every single beer was absolutely delicious. I wish I could've got the 6pk of King of Carrot Flowers to bring home. Ratio was our favorite brewery in Denver! Definitely check it out!

Yelp
Atmosphere: 5/5 - Chill vibe. Outdoor seating. I liked the bleachers setup in the courtyard / backyard. - Dog Friendly! Major points. Brews: 4/5 - Decent selection of beer. Not extensive but top quality brews. Customer Service: 5/5 - Good service. Value: 5/5 - Solid pricing. $6-7 / beer

Yelp
Ratio Beerworks is a sweet brewery conveniently located in the heart of Rino. I visited here a few months ago with some friends on a Friday night, and my experience was fantastic. We were seated right away, and our server was super helpful, and extremely knowledgeable on the drinks available. I ordered the French Saison and it was actually pretty tasty. It had a nice citrusy taste to it, which hit the spot. I'm not really a big beer drinker, but I actually liked this particular drink quite a lot. The indoor and outdoor seating here is super comfortable, and the interior of this place reminds me of an old school cinema, super cool! Come and check this brewery out, you'll have a blast!!
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Ratio Beerworks seemed like a chill and easy going spot to grab a beer by yourself or with a group of friends. The staff was friendly, the space was clean and the beer was ice cold. Everything a brewery needs to have a returning customer in me!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Since I'm just not a big beer person it's always tough to find a brewery I like (unless they have sour beer options). But ratio had just what I needed, chill brewery space inside, awesome outdoor space, and delicious beer options. I sampled the blood orange and I got a full pint of their Float On Hefeweizen. I love the fact that if Ratio says it's a blood orange or carrot beer, you actually taste blood orange or carrot (which I can't say I notice at most other breweries). Will definitely be back to hangout at this great Denver Microbrewery!

Yelp
3rd stop on the mini brewery tour! These places are either getting better as we go or I'm starting to get looped, probably both. This was my favorite so far. I know it's minor, but it was really nice to have the beer menu over the bar and not a QR code! I'm not docking or giving points to the breweries for it, just an observation. This place had the largest indoor space and the largest outdoor space also. We chose a seat outside as they had a large tent/canopy overhead with plenty of seating. Was really nice. As for the beers, I tried 3 and stayed away from anything over about 7%abv. They had nice options for all. The winner for me was the smoked one. Very unique and was like drinking a beer and eating burnt ends. Maybe not something everyone would enjoy but I found it delicious. Overall 5/5 for the space and 5/5 on beers. Cheers!

Yelp
This place rocks great vibes and good beer! Nice American pale at a good price this place is going places!
