I bought the olive and cascara. I haven’t tried the cascara yet. The olive sourdough was pretty good BUT the olive taste is strong, I’m sure it also depends on what you eat with it or alone.

Always enjoy picking up Ravenhook’s baguettes, sourdough, cookies, croissants and a variety of other baked goods when I go to Mosaic’s Farmers Market on Sundays. The staff are always helpful and informative and the bread is always delicious and baked well - nice crunchy crust with a soft inside.

Excellent baked goods! We get stollen each Christmas, it’s a 30+ year tradition in our family. Several years ago, our favorite bakery we ordered our stollen from closed. Since then, we have tried various bakeries. Unfortunately, none have been as good…until now. Ravenhook Bakehouse stollen is the BEST we have had. It has outstanding texture and the amount of fruit is perfect. The figs were a nice surprise. Additionally, we also had the pecan bars, as well as iced Christmas and gingerbread men cookies They, too, were delicious. The pecan bars crust had the buttery goodness you want from a pecan bar, but weren’t greasy as some can be. The pecan filling was perfect. The gingerbread cookie had the amount of ginger you look for in this classic holiday treat. The iced Christmas cookies were classic in the best way. We placed our Christmas treats order online and picked them up at the DuPont Circle Farmers Market - it was so easy. Additionally, Ravenhook has friendly customer service. I called with a few questions and the baker was extremely helpful. We look forward to sampling more Ravenhook baked goods in 2025!

Some of the best bread in the city! It’s affordable without skimping on quality! We love the whole wheat sourdough and the rye with caraway. The pastries are also so so good. The owner is so knowledgeable and excited about bread! It’s a great local bakery

Google
We discovered Ravenhook Bakehouse at the Georgetown Farmers Market this Wednesday. We picked up the most beautiful pecan pie - perfect for Thanksgiving. Truly, we all agreed, it is the best tasting pecan pie we have ever had. Ever. No too much goo and a crust like I’ve never eaten. AMAZING!! The team members we met were friendly and knowledgeable. They are at farmers markets all over the DMV, so you can bet we will buy from them regularly. You should too.

Google
best bakery in dc hands down. i look forward to every farmers market. so many shops are way overrated in dc and this small bakery deserves more praise!

The tomato mozzarella focaccia I recently got from the UMD farmers market is my absolute favorite! Just gave it a quick refresh in the oven at 350F and it was perfect! The scones and multigrain bread are also delicious.

Google
Ravenhook is by far my favorite bakery stand to purchase from! Their rosemary sourdough, za'atar focaccia, and pain de campagne are all great. I recently tried the black Baltic loaf for the first time and it is mouth-watering. I ate the whole loaf (and the next one) with nothing but some butter because it is so delicious on its own. I'm eating a slice as I write this!

Yelp
What's great about this bakery is that you can place your order online and pick up your order at your local farmers' market. I highly recommend doing this because then you can be sure to get exactly what you want since what is at their booth goes fast. One of my favorite things to get is their Asiago cheese bread. My daughter loves their seasonal jam (particularly the raspberry) bars, and I am crazy about their chocolate babka (it's amazing)! Their frosted brownies are oversized fudgy goodness. The items are pricey (but their baked goods are high quality). Be sure to get a punchcard (and remember to bring it each time you come to your local market. Bon appetit!

Yelp
If you find yourself wandering around Union Market craving a sweet treat, give Ravenhook a visit! I tried the cherry scone, strawberry-rhubarb pie, and brioche. The pastries were buttery and not overly sweet, although the bread was a bit dry. With relatively affordable prices, the cost was worth sampling the case. Already filled up on pupusas, bread pudding and other market staples? Fear not, as most of the items would probably travel well.

Yelp
Delicious baked goodies with scrumptious focaccia bread! I enjoyed the weekly special tomato and mozzarella focaccia bread. The pies looked quite tempting! I see Ravehook Bakehouse at the City Center and Penn Quarter farmers market, so glad they have a stall at Union Market!

Yelp
We couldn't find the Union Market location for this shop, so I checked into another DC location. There were two girls working at this particular site, they were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We had a lot of food to eat at the Union Market and decided that it would be best to buy a half loaf of the Sourdough. This will be my first time trying their product and I can't wait to toast up some bread, then slap some Ghee on it!! I'll update this review after I eat. I'd come here again on just the fact that the employees were so helpful! -ODL Follow my IG: @AOEAT

Yelp
RavenHook Bakehouse is a D.C. bakery that offers various European-style breads and pastries, usually found in farmers markets. I came across their stall at the Union Market, and I knew that from checking out their spreads, I had to pick some up! You can find various breads (baguette, asiago, challah, ciabatta, crostini, focaccia, harvest grain, jalapeno cheddar, multigrain, seeded rye, whole wheat sourdough, olive bread, pain de campagne, Portuguese sweet hamburger buns, raisin pecan, rosemary sourdough, Russian black bread, rustic Italian boule, sourdough miche, etc.), sweets (bread pudding, coffee cakes, cookies, cornbread, English scones, macaroons, tea breads, pound cakes, cobblers, and jam bars), honey, peanut butter, jam, and seasonal/holiday specials. I purchased a gingerbread cookie, a filled brioche cupcake, a sour cherry scone, and a set of Procrastination cookies. The gingerbread cookie had a funny taste to it; the brioche filling was chocolate-y and was interesting with the crumbled candy cane bits, but the brioche was a little dry; there could have been more cherries in the scone; and, the Procrastination cookies were oat-y and chewy, and tasted super healthy. Staff was friendly, and I think I would like to check out their loaves the next time. Located inside the Union Market. +seasonal items +located inside the Union Market

Yelp
I love this bakery so much!! I usually go to the Brookland Farmer's Market to pick up some goodies! I have tried their special focaccia, the regular za'atar focaccia, the raspberry shortbread, cranberry walnut bread, snickerdoodle cookie, blueberry muffin, and coffee cake. I highly recommend the cranberry walnut bread (omg so delicious! a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and soft. Perfect for toast, eating w/o any spread, or even eating with hummus. Unfortunately, only available around Christmas time), the coffee cake (so moist, sweet but not too sweet, the perfect dessert!), raspberry shortbread (so good!), and the special focaccia (different toppings that change every week and all too succulent). All of the aforementioned 5/5! I have no pictures because everything is gobbled up before I remember to take pictures! The blueberry muffin is 4/5 because it was a tad too sweet for me, sweeter than other blueberry muffins I have eaten. It has a top layer of crust that is too sweet for my taste. The regular za'atar focaccia is not as flavorful as the special ones and not as soft either. The za'atar gives it a slightly bitter taste that is not appealing for a non-injera or sourdough bread. The Snickerdoodle cookie was alright as well. Now, they have a $5 flat delivery fee to anywhere in DC via Near!! I have used it, it was very easy to order, and my order came the next day! Highly recommend it if you are craving some delicious baked goods and you don't want to make the trip!

Yelp
Bought this pastry inside of lost generation brewery. I think the picture says it all. Would've eaten ten of these in one sitting. One critique (if I had one): more filling please :)

Yelp
We got this at Union Market and it was the last chocolate filled brioche and OMG was it the most delicious thing ever! So so so yummy and the chocolate inside was rich, the brioche was soft and even though it was the display muffin it tasted brand new! Can't wait to try another pastry the next time I'm by Union Market :)

Yelp
I bought the sourdough bread and I loved that they give you an option to buy half a bag of bread as well as a full bag. They had a good variety to choose from. There were not just breads, but also jams, and some sweeter options too. The staff was also really nice and helpful.

Yelp
Huge fan of Ravenhook! I get random stuff from them about once a week. Their olive bread is delicious, and their rotating filled brioches are generally quite good as well. Love the variety and consistency.

Yelp
Bought an olive loaf, a berry brioche, and chocolate chip cookies. All absolutely delicious, great quality, and the staff is extremely friendly!
