The most beautiful winery! The staff working was incredible. They were so accommodating and kind. They made sure we were comfortable and that we had the best experience. 10/10 highly recommend! Also the donkeys are absolutely adorable.

Google
What a lovely winery! We visited this place Wednesday morning and took the first wine tasting reservation spot at 10 am. It was quiet and the barn setting overlooking the winery through the large window was simply beautiful and picturesque. I visited popular wineries in Finger Lakes over the years and Ravines is now on my favorite list. Servers were friendly and attentive and we had the best time here. Can’t wait to come back again!

Google
Wow! We cannot say more about this winery. We went today, and Dan was so knowledgeable about the area and all their wines/cheese plates. We cannot wait to come back and regret not bringing wine back home with us! We WILL be back!!!

Google
The wine and winery were all as the previous reviews reflect in a beautiful 200 y o barn and high quality wine as well as great food. The experience was of the highest quality. My only ding was to see the grapes being treated with a most probable fungicide (spraying) while I was enjoying my bottle outside. A definitely heavy lift to have a working farm coupled with a tasting/public space. I know the health of the vines drive this endeavor but spraying over the 4th of July weekend should be probably delayed in the future….

We had a wonderful time at Ravines, another beautiful Finger Lakes region winery. We called a day in advance, and easily secured a tasting. Completely understandable why they ask for reservations. The approach up to the property had an extra bonus of an apple orchard that was great photos. The property itself, what 100+ year old barn was beautiful to look at and a perfect spot for tasting. Our tasting guides were knowledgeable and friendly and we’re generous with the pores. We sample the number of wines and took a few home. Appreciated their thoughtfulness and care In describing the wines we selected. All in all a great experience. Do not let a few unhappy reviewers spoil your coming to this place. They are definitely worth your stop.

My wife and I traveled to the Finger Lakes for the first time to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. One of our stops was Ravines; which became the highlight of the trip!! Immediately we loved everything about it; the grounds and barn were stunning. We started our tasting with Denzel who was so much fun and knowledgeable. After the first two samples everyone's phone started buzzing with weather alerts which included possible severe storms/tornado warning. We were unable to secure an Uber to pick us up so staff informed us that they were going to close/secure the barn and move everyone to the basement(barrel room). I can't think of a better spot to shelter in place during a storm than the barrel room of a winery. As the storm passed over head we were treated to samples of different wines, a Q&A with the head wine maker and a tour. The staff could not have been more accommodating during this whole time. After the storm had passed we moved back upstairs and finished our tasting with Denzel and Amy. We loved and enjoyed our time at Ravines. It is a must do during any trip to the Finger Lakes. Thank you to Denzel and the rest of the staff for a great and memorable experience!!

Google
From PA and was visiting family in the area. Thought it would be neat to experience a local winery there. I was hoping to sample a wine that had a sweet concord taste. They recommended 2 white wines (neither that were sweet). I am not a huge drinker so I asked that the samples be just a tiny bit. I ended up purchasing a small bottle. Was told that bottle was $7-9.. no problem... we get to the register and the bill came to 29.99. I was confused and looked surprise.... inquired to the difference and was told $20 was for the sampling.... SERIOUSLY!?!.... I was not informed this up front... nor were there any signs indicating... I took 2 very small samples!!! Our local places do not charge for wine sampling so this was different for me and feel I should have been aware ahead of time... their response was "it is on our website" I guess I should have checked that upon stopping in as we were passing by......

Google
Pretty good wines. Nice atmosphere. A bit haphazard wine tasting. They did provide great explanations of the background of each wine we tasted. They also provided recommendations on options for tasting. Try the Maximilian. They have a cool large barn setting also in addition to the tasting room and seating tables. The road to get to the place is in horrid shape and take that into account.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Ravine's Wine Cellars. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of wine and seated at a charming table. The hostess was exceptional, and our waiter was both knowledgeable and personable. The wine was dry and delicious, perfectly complemented by the tasty appetizers. I am eagerly anticipating our next visit.

Yelp
First impression - Loved the warm coziness of the barn. The space was open but still felt intimate. Good selection of both whites & reds. The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted at the counter where you can put in your drink and food order. Place your order, pick a seat, and relax while your order gets delivered. There's plenty of seats indoor & outdoor. We opted for something light to start our wine tour, a glass of sparkling for myself & a dry white for the sis. Both paired really nicely with the smoked trout. Looking forward to our next visit to try the reds.

Yelp
We had a great time here! Enjoyed our tasting at the bar with Amy. They have a kitchen if you're hungry for light bites but we passed since we were on our way to dinner. Our favorite wine was the 2020 Dry Riesling Argetsinger, but we also liked the flagship Riesling and the Sauvignon Blanc. Was not a fan of the reds (tried two different Pinot noirs and a cabernet franc). They also have large format bottles. Definitely one of the better wineries in the area!

Yelp
My husband and I were excited to try this winery because we have visited the Ravines tasting room on Keuka Lake, but never on Seneca. The winery is very beautiful on the inside, dimly lit for ambience with wine barrels everywhere. There were several framed photographs of the winery featured in Wine Spectator magazine, which made me excited to try the wines. Our servers were Denzel and Mary, and they were professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They encouraged my husband and I to do several side-by-side tastings, which were very interesting. The wines were a little pricey to purchase at the winery, but since we have purchased Ravines wine at our local wine store for a more discounted price. Our server accidentally poured us a "members only" wine at the end. Those lucky wine club members! That was our favorite wine out of the whole selection.

Yelp
Really nice little tasting room with lots of dry wine offerings. Excellent service from Denzel. And, donkeys!!

Yelp
Ravines is one of my top 3 favorite wineries in the FLX. I'm fact, it's the only wine club I belong to in NY. The tasting room is less than 10 minutes from my house so we are frequent fliers. There is a nice spread of white and rose. They have a kitchen in their lovely barn that serves up small plates. Be sure to make reservations for tastings. This is a must visit spot in wine country, great wine, good service and scenic location.
google avatar

Yelp
Ravines was one of our top finger lakes wineries we went to on a recent trip. The barn/tasting room is adorable. It was a nice day so they had all the windows and doors open. Dan who helped us was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wine. White wines are some of the higher quality ones we tasted.

Yelp
We had a lovely 45 minutes enjoying the views and vibes at the Ravines in Geneva! Close-ish to Rochester just off the North portion of Seneca Lake, this winery boasts a cute orchard as you drive in, a robust wine list, and a great wine club subscription. We enjoyed many of the selections we tried, with the newest white added to their tasting list (field notes?) being one of our favorites. We didn't opt to purchase a bottle. They are currently taking reservations through an easy system online. You'll pay ahead of time then pay for any food and additional bottle purchases after your tasting. It gets WINDY in the barn so whether you're choosing indoor or outdoor, prepare for a nice breeze. We ordered baguette and hummus as our mandatory food choices and thought both were the perfect addition/snack for our tasting. The staff here is pretty young and everyone we interacted with was incredibly awkward, but I guess it kind of added to the charm. I would recommend a stop here with a group to get cozy and relax in their gorgeous barn with views every way you look.

Yelp
Was here in September during a week long stay in the Fingerlakes. This was both my boyfriend's and my favorite winery in the region. Isn't a huge production like others in the area, but felt very personal, homey, and comfortable. I'm from CA and this was similar to wine tasting in Lodi rather than something like Napa Valley. The wines were shockingly good! CA really has only sweet Rieslings and I grew up really disliking them, but the 2017 Dry Riesling is a whole other beast that reminded me of a mix between Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Ever so slightly buttery but more crisp and light. They also do have a sweet Riesling and other reds that were all amazing! Bought 2 bottles after our tasting (one Riesling and the Maximilien red).
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
Still a solid place for a tasting.. be aware with our world at the moment you must reserve and pay for your tastings prior. The tastings are inside the converted barn. Wines i recommend getting are the 2017 Maximillian and 2017 Pinot Noir. Staff is friendly but you pretty much pick out what you are interested in, and you have a list of what the wines are like. If you have questions they are great about it and they also have some nibbles for purchase. They still need to do something about the road rolling up to this place. They have parking.. Cheers

Yelp
I thought this was phenomenal! I loved the tasting room in the barn with the high ceilings and fairy lights. The tasting was $15, where most others are $10, but the attention paid to us and detailed explanations of each wine felt worth it. I went with a red flight, but I definitely should have done whites (I think the finger lakes are more known for white), as we wound up staying for another glass and buying two bottles to take. Beautiful. Excited to bring friends.

Yelp
So I'm giving this place four stars because the wine was truly delicious and I did like the outdoor area. However, I have to point out that I don't think this place normally offers food besides during Covid. There was no chips or small option to choose so we chose a cheese plate. The cheese plate was very barren especially for 18 dollars. We also got some hummus which didn't seem like hummus at all and tasted more like Mayo. I still want to give four stars because the pandemic is hard for everyone and the wine was so good. I would recommend getting something else besides the cheese plate but I would come back for the wine

Yelp
As recent as July 2020, Andrew Cuomo has issued new regulations for the state hospitality industry, including winery tasting rooms to serve food with alcoholic beverages. While there are some wineries that give you free breadsticks/oyster crackers, Ravines is one of these places that actually makes you order food. Fret not, a baguette per person ($3 each) will easily satisfy this requirement. Now for the wine itself, Ravines make some stunning wines. But the experience is pretty lame. The server brings your entire flight of wines, and describes every wine you would be tasting all at once, and leaves you alone and barely checks on you the entire time, operating much like a restaurant during COVID times. Not sure if their other location in Hammondsport operates the same way since we only visited the Geneva location. If you're more interested in learning more about the history of the winery, winemaking techniques, etc, you won't get that here, but if you just want to enjoy a few good bottles of wine and be left alone to socialize, then this place is for you.

Yelp
This was our first stop of the day and it was lovely. The tasting room is a giant barn. It was really cool they had two tasting choices. Most of chose the whites. They also had Ravine tasting which came with 2 reds, a Pinot Noir and a Cab Sav /Merlot blend. My favorite wines were the two Rieslings. I was especially impressed with the 2018 Sixteen Falls. At $29 and $23 a bottle they are great wines for a reasonable price. The unoaked Chardonnay was a bit too much citrus for me but the Oaked Chardonnay wasn't bad. I loved the Ayre semi dry sparkling but I love a sweeter sparkling. The rest of my group preferred the Brut. They served the wines In Little carafes which could serve as a dump cup if you didn't like something. I enjoyed all of mine. The Field Notes was my least preferred but not bad. They also served little cheese breads with their tastings. Overall a lovely start to our day with some amazing white wines.

Yelp
This winery has some of the highest rated wines in the finger lakes. The service and view is really nice from the barn. They do a very nice job and wine tasting. We did try some of the small bites and found them a little underwhelming though.
google avatar

Kami S.

Yelp
I've been to both locations but came to this one a couple weeks ago. Great atmosphere. There's fields of grapes and even some curious donkeys out back. Wine tasting was delightful, I loved every single wine and it came with fresh baked bread. Everything about this place was great, ended up buying 4 bottles of wines and some truffles.
google avatar

Yelp
Really pretty winery overlooking the lake! I didn't love all the wines, but I did think they were pretty good. Staff were friendly and good choices for food while drinking.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
We popped in without a reservation at the last minute and they let us come in and do a tasting unlike some other FLX wineries. They were very friendly here. The Dry Pinot Rose '20 was very good.
google avatar

Phil B.

Yelp
A very nice experience that allowed us to taste a wide range of wines. They offer a charcuterie platter and hummus and chips. Beautiful large barn is a perfect setting. As to the wines, the Rieslings were enjoyable; less so with the reds.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Loved this winery This was our first stop on the winery trail. This place you drive a mile off of the main road. The winery is in an old restored barn. It's incredible inside. The wine was very good. Almost everything we tasted was good. The reds were ok but better whites here. The staff was helpful and knowledge on the wines. $3 for 5 wine tastings.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool venue and pretty good wines, its pricier than similar wineries for no apparent reason. Owner was nice and informative, wait staff was running all over the place (COVID spacing). Make reservations esp during Fall 2020.

David S.

Yelp
Well, first let me get it out of the way and say that I love the wine from Ravines. They're my favorite winery in the entire Finger Lakes, and we get a case or two every year. However, the wine tasting experience has gone downhill in a serious way since Covid. I'd rank them as one of the worst I've had over the last eighteen months. Before Covid, we'd go in early (when they weren't busy), and do a tasting for $5. I'd mention I was looking to get a case, and they'd let me taste whatever I wanted. I'd walk out with at least a case (I don't buy wine I can't taste). Today though, you have to make a reservation (making scheduling difficult if you're on a trip to visit multiple wineries), the tasting costs $15, and you're stuck with whatever they have on their flight. You get served all of the wines at once and there's little interaction with the server. So, I'm paying three times as much and tasting a third of what I used to unless I want to spend $30 or $45 (and I don't even get to pick those). Many of the other wineries we visit have gone back to a more traditional tasting experience (though not all), taking into account social distancing and masks. They're doing the best they can in the current circumstances, but it is a much more enjoyable experience. We visit the Finger Lakes once or twice a year, and visit about twenty wineries to pick up our supply of wine. Of the wineries that do their tastings like Ravines, we've pretty much taken them off our list and we no longer visit them. The tasting fee increase and experience just doesn't make it worthwhile to stop. The only reason we go back to Ravines is because I like their wine so much, though the tasting experience is pretty lacking.
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
I had the most amazing time at this winery! Shiv took great care of my best friend and I!! I definitely recommend the dry reisling on a hot summer day :)
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
The wine as amazing! However, our server was incredibly rude to us, and we seemed to be a massive inconvenience to her. The place was really empty (we came during a week day) and she complained to us that it was mandatory we make a reservation, even though we were the only people there. We were seated in the barn, and trying to huddle around a broken space heater because it was freezing inside. All things aside, I'm hoping we came on an off day. The wine was amazing, we would be happy to come back in warmer months, and will be sure to call ahead.
google avatar

Yelp
A charming rustic winery situated in the middle of a beautiful Vineyard. Ravines is well know as one of the finest wineries in the Finger Lakes. Their wines are remarkable! Our favorite wines were the 2015 Dry Riesling and the 2016 Gewurztraminer. The Gewurz had luscious lychee notes and would pair wonderfully with spicy food. We ended up purchasing a bottle of each which were reasonable priced. The tasting pours were a bit small but considering the tasting was only $3, I can't really complain. If you're planning a winery tour on Seneca Lake, you can count on Ravines on providing exceptional wine and service.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
They let us walk in regardless of reservation. Wine was good, did not let us go slow, but it appeared those at tables were allowed space.
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
I was not 100% sold on trekking to this winery, but after we walked in I knew it was a winner. Upon walking in with 2 kiddos Joanne offered them otter pops to taste while the adults tried wine. All of the wines (even the reds) were very nice. Since we were just visiting I was not at all familiar with the area, but the town of Hammondsport was super cute and I wish we would have planned a lunch there.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Ravines is one of the only quality wines produced in the finger lakes. The other being Dr. Frank. Great space and a quality product. Beautiful view from a somewhat hidden location. Nice special events for wine club members.

Kathy V.

Yelp
We arrived at the winery at 4:15 on a Sunday afternoon. We were immediately informed that the kitchen was closed at 4:00, and that "we'll see if it's not too late to accommodate you two for a tasting"...this from the hostess on duty, who displayed a rather dismissive attitude that indicated she was more invested in approaching the end of her shift than in her approachability for guests. The wine options were nice, and the chocolate pairings were spot on (extra $5 per person). The young woman who served our flights was very pleasant and helpful (in sharp contrast to the hostess). We won't return here, as fortunately, there are many alternatives from which to choose when in the area. An unwelcoming greeting results in a poor nose and finish.

Yelp
Wasn't sure if I should post this under Ravines Wine Cellar or under the Ravinous Kitchen, so this review might be making appearances in both.... My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

Yelp
Ravines is one of the better wineries in the Finger Lakes region in regards to service, wine, and location. The winery is in a beautiful barn space that is partially used for their dining/event space and their tasting room. They have a fantastic and diverse lineup of wines, from dry and complex reds to sweet late harvest whites. I would personally suggest their Dry Riesling, the MMX/Maximillian red blend, and their sparkling wines. Ravines is great for smaller groups because they can work with both sweet and dry, and white and red. My most recent visit was for their Fall Revelry, which is a perk of being a wine club member. The revelries are free events where you get to try small bites paired with their wines. This last visit was recipes inspired by Thanksgiving. I was thoroughly impressed with the pairings and food options. The wine club is totally worth it for these free events and perks.

Natalie S.

Yelp
Love this winery. You will find nothing but high quality wines here, mostly dry whites, with some reds mixed in. I recommend their Dry Riesling and Pinot Noir. They also have the largest wine club by far in the finger lakes region, with impressive deals and events. Definitely recommend at least a stop at this award winning winery.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Higher-quality than average for Finger Lakes wines, served in a nice tasting room on the rustic property. We found several of their varietals quite interesting, such as a light and floral merlot and Maximilien, a heartier blend. One of the two best wineries we tried in the Keuka and Seneca regions.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
My favorite winery in the Finger Lakes so far. I still have much to explore so this may change but will definitely be on my top list. We came early on a Monday morning and it was nice and quiet to have an enjoyable experience. I opted for the $6 wine/cheese tasting. Please splurge and do this. All the cheeses were locally made and just brought the wine tasting to another level. The lady running the tasting was so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. My favorites from here were the dry riesling, gewurztraminer and the cabernet franc. Ravines does the more Old World style of wine. So expect the wines to be more dry than sweet. Which is such a breath of fresh air for the area!

Yelp
*Wine Lovers be aware, that if you take your GPS here, you need to enter from the Pre-Emption Rd side, because the White Spring Rd entance is a private drive. Also, if you are driving a hot rod around, be aware of the rocky gavel road. The tasting room is BEAUTIFUL, with the woodwork and wine barrels. The sommelier/pourer was very friendly. My other half and I each got to taste 5 wines, and had a cheese and chocolate plate for $12. Most of the cheese is featured from Yancey's. The wines were delicious, and dry. This would be a great place to hold an event, or to bring a group of people for something special. They didn't explicitly sell wines by the glass, but I am sure they would be happy to accommodate your wine lover needs.

Yelp
Ok.. I usually don't like Chardonnay but they have an awesome chard that I had to buy! It was not too oaky and had that buttery taste that people have described but I've never been fortunate to taste until now. The tasting room was a back area that was closed in by barn type doors. While they did have patio heaters, it was still kind of cold back there. But the young lady who provided our tastings and knowledge of the wines made us forget how chilly it was. It is a really nice place with some neat decor. I would definitely recommend to anyone for a stop in!

Mary R.

Yelp
A great experience at Geneva's Ravines Wine Cellars. From the beautiful drive thru orchards to the Barn's stylish and comfortable setting for a tasting we were so relaxed after a few hours of outlet shopping. Food selection was good too. It was also nice to RSVP so they were expecting us and had plenty of servers available for what was probably one of the best wine tasting experiences we've had in the Finger Lakes. Our server made our first visit very special for sure. A very easy to use app too for the reservation. And the best part was we liked every wine. That rarely happens but we really can say this to be true. Definitely a must visit winery for everyone. We will be back too as I can only imagine how beautiful the ride along the orchards will be in the fall!

Janet P.

Yelp
We visited many wineries during our visit. To think we almost missed the best! Thankfully we passed it on our way out and decided to stop. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was the best. I'll be signing up for their wine club as I don't want to miss any of their releases- it was that good!

Yelp
Had such a nice tasting here! Beautiful tasting room overlooking the vineyards and mini donkeys. Wines were great, and learned so much! Try the Dry Riesling - so good!

Yelp
We went to the finger lakes for the first time and came to Ravines Winery. We were helped by Neal, who absolutely rocked. He gave us special tastings since it was my birthday and made several wonderful recommendations for places for us to try in the area. The wine was great and we loved the ambience. We will definitely come back on our next trip!

Yelp
First - the fact that this place has their technology up to date with online reservations and payment is such a plus. I didn't encounter this at any other winery we visited and this made the experience so much easier from the get go. Now the barn is gorgeous - absolutely fabulous place for a wedding in the FLX. This is the winery that turned around our impression of the wine region. We started with a glass of sparkling that was on point for a brut. My mother is a red wine drinker and so this was pretty much all she ordered. I tasted these and while I wasn't impressed, they at least were drinkable compared to some other vineyards we visited. But stick with the whites and I feel confident you'll find something you will like. Honestly try not pre-judge varietals if you're an experienced taster and maybe even see if you can do the tasting blind. You might be surprised!

Yelp
The barn is absolutely adorable and I can see how this would be a sight after wedding venue. The wines were very good and on par with other wineries in the area, but the service was less impressive than other tastings nearby. The staff did not provide any description of the wines we were tasting. Tastings for five wines were $15 each. We did two chocolate pairing flights for $20, which was substantially overpriced given the small size of the pours, and 3 very small chocolates (only three of the wines were paired with chocolate). Similar tastings in the area are 8 to $12 (and those that are more pricey typically include a tasting glass you can keep) so we really did not feel like we got our money's worth - mostly it felt like we were paying for the ambiance.

Yelp
Ravines was our first stop of the day during our trip down Seneca Lake and they had the most beautiful tasting room/event space I have ever seen. Their actual tasting room is very small, definitely not a location you want to bring a large group to, in fact the gentleman who did our tasting told us they would not accommodate parties larger than 10. Fair enough. We came in on a Thursday morning and there was only one other couple in the place so we were given outstanding service by one of the male workers and he made our experience so worth while. He was very knowledgable about the wines and good at conversation in general, which is appreciated when you're doing a tasting because yes, you are coming for the wine, but it's a social event so to find someone who knows how to be social is always a plus. I enjoyed most if not all of the wines. I never knew I enjoyed a dry riesling until I came to this vineyard. I was a bone dry red drinker and never steered away from the Merlot, but now I know during the summer I can enjoy a nice Riesling! So about the event space, just stunning. There are no words, you just have to come see for yourself, it's all wood, the highest ceilings you could ever imagine, RUSTIC HEAVEN, the windows were open to the outside so you have a gorgeous view of the vineyard. Beautiful tables and chairs, probably the most beautiful event space I had ever seen. Definitely not big enough for a wedding by any means (unless you're only having 40 guests MAX) but I would love to have a bridal shower here or even a rehearsal dinner, just amazing. This stop was definitely worth while, cannot wait to come back.

Yelp
What a great find here! Last place we stopped on our way home. Loved the wines - especially their Dry Rieslings and bought a case. Had some great hummus as an appetizer as the wine servers were knowledgeable. This was one of my top places in the three times I have visited the Finger Lakes.

Yelp
Delightful wine. Top notch. The service was fantastic. The staff was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone was also very mindful of current COVID-19 protocols which made it easy for me to relax and enjoy the gorgeous view, and the wonderful wine. Our hostess Carolyn was unparalleled. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
*Pasta & Wine Weekend 2015 Review* It pains me to be negative but this needs to be said. I am a fan of Ravines wines and the Seneca Wine Trail tasting room. The barn is so cute and charming...and an open door in the middle of winter ruins this experience. We were told that this "door" had to remain open through the trail event for the "lighting" effect on the tasting room. This was NOT the case for Deck the Halls or any other time I've visited on a cold day. The poor workers were freezing! And even worse? It completely RUINED our tasting experience. Only the food was delectable during this experience since it was a hot red wine type of stew, that ending up cooling almost immediately. I am not able to tell you the name since I lost my recipe sheet. Probably slipped through my numb fingers. This experience would have been apropos for, let's say, mulled wine and/or cider. All of the reds we opted to try were too cold to enjoy, and we were too cold to enjoy their refrigerated wines. This is a wine trail NO-NO. We walked out empty handed. Hopefully the business takes this into consideration and has a better solution for "the lighting effect" on the next event they participate in.

Yelp
Been to tastings throughout CA, OR and WA -- and this one has been my favorite so far. Learned more about wine than I ever have before, and it was only $5 per person. My boyfriend and I split ours - so we tried 9 different wines on the main list, and then paid $1 per tasting for two additional limited edition wines. Thus we paid $12 to try 11 different and very delicious wines. I didn't even think I liked white wine, yet we ended up buying a few whites by the end. Tasting room is also beautiful, in a rustic barn setting. Hope to be back someday soon.

Yelp
This is a cute little winery. It has a beautiful tree in the middle of it. The 2015 dry Riesling was awesome. It was recommended by all the staff. There are chocolate wine pairings available for an extra fee.

Yelp
ADORABLE winery! This was one of our favorite wineries during our trip to the finger Lakes. The wines were some of the best we had! I definitely recommend visiting Ravines!
