The Indoor Day Drinking Guide

"Speaking of board games, when it’s gross outside and you don’t feel like prepping your apartment to host a Cards Against Humanity party, tell everyone to meet you at Raygun Lounge, an awesome all-day nerd hall where you can play games and drink red wine mixed with orange soda. Break things up with some time on the arcade machines, and if you get hungry, get tacos and margaritas at Fogon across the street." - aimee rizzo

"Set Phasers to Fun Time for a game night? If you’re in Capitol Hill, Raygun Lounge has everything you need. There's a large selection of board, card, miniature, role playing, and collectible games (including rare and out-of-print titles), and if they don’t have it in stock, they can get it. It’s small but densely packed, so don’t be afraid to ask for help if you don’t see what you’re looking for. The lounge has regular gaming parties and meetups for groups, or you can simply drop in, order a naanwich and a beer or cider, and play one of the games from their game shelf. They feature local art on the walls and there are a few arcade games in the back. A friendly and low-key place to meet up with friends — or make some new ones — over a game."

Google
Overall really love this place. Always has a good number of pinball and arcade games enthusiasts. The bartender usually is one as well. Fascinating conversations and all nice folks. Only complaint is that sometimes those convos go long at the register so I've waited a while to order. Not a huge deal though. Never eaten here. Only had a few beers and played pinball.

Google
This is a great place. It is the barbecue chicken pizza was the best thing I had in cap hill late at night. It's a nice little arcade bar that is worth stopping in.

I walked past the Raygun Lounge on my way to dinner and knew I had to stop in on my way back. Erik the owner was tending bar tonight and the beer was cold and the conversations made me feel like I was a regular at the establishment . I love all of the vintage arcade games and pinball machine he had. Will definitely be back when I am back in town.

Google
This is a cool bar for a very niche community. The pinball machines are a lot of fun but cost ~$0.75 each to play. Drinks are pretty good but overall menu is pretty small. If you are a nerd (in the best possible way) this is THE bar to go to.

Google
The Simpsons game didn't work very well (we could only start a single player game, and one of the buttons was not very responsive). The Neo Geo cabinet's speakers were bust or something, so the sound was terrible. Tetris was OK, and the pinball machines were great as well.

Google
I didn't eat here, there are no gluten free options last I remember, the arcade selection is incredibly fun and addicting however.

Google
Good place in capitol hill to place some retro video games and pinball machines. They also have board games and a cool 90's with 90's tv with 90's movies and tv shows playing to add a nice retro vice (games cost from 50 center to 1$ per play). They also have a small menu with beer and food available.

Google
Looking for a great little place to chill out and play some games with friends? Come grab a tap beer, okay some pinball or even use one of the dozens of games they have available to play too! Days are slower and it's easier to get whatever pinball table you want and just relax in the hustle of Seattle. Come by in the evening for a little more life and action. Bring since friends hang out and play games!

Yelp
Raygun Bar combines nostalgia and fun. The arcade games are not only top-notch but also incredibly affordable, giving serious Nickel City vibes from my childhood. It's such a good deal that I genuinely wonder how the owner keeps the place running while maintaining the arcade. I stumbled in after dinner at Tamari Bar and was delighted to see people playing card and board games--it felt like a welcoming, vibrant community hub. This spot has "third place" energy written all over it. Definitely a go-to for a laid-back night of games and good vibes!

Yelp
This spot was pretty fun! They have a decent sample of pinball machines, and a cash machine and ATM if needed. They have a small but respectable selection of beers and ciders on tap and bottle cocktails. They also have snacks and food, and I can attest to them making a solid grilled cheese. They do have board games too! This spot is dog friendly and I was a very happy camper after our visit here.

Yelp
Raygun Lounge offers a nostalgic, cozy arcade experience with a touch of old-school charm. Alongside their selection of food and drinks, they provide board games for patrons to enjoy. With a few arcade machines available, it's a cool spot to unwind in the vibrant Capitol Hill area. Highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
The place is okay. It's a forgettable barcade. Really popping area of cap hill. On paper it should be so much better but when you get it in it's just okay. It's a cool spot to have a drink and play some games. The game library is a little small but you can bring your own so that's fine. I think what really let's this place down is the food, the drinks and service. The food is fine but it's basically frozen pizzas. They have like 4 or 5 drinks on tap and that's pretty much it. The employees are pretty disinterested but are fine when you talk to them. All in all this place is just fine. Nothing special. I would come back if it was convenient but I'd much rather just go to the Elysian a few blocks away if I want to play some games and have a drink. Much better food and service. Again this place isn't bad, I just wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
A hole-in-the-wall bar-cade tucked into the heart of Cap Hill -- I'd walked past it several times and saw that they have a ton of pinball machines, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they had a TON of arcade classics and board games too. They have a bar serving beers and seltzers, and a few tables if you wanted to sit. We stopped by at ~11PM and stayed until close -- I'm seriously OBSESSED with their old-school Donkey Kong game! They also had my favorites, like Galaga, Street Fighter, and Pac Man. Most games cost a quarter or two to play, so it's a fairly affordable night out. It's a small space, so I wouldn't expect a huge variety but I had a great time and definitely plan on coming back!

Yelp
Great spot with some epic pinball and other game options. Stumbled in on accident and it made my night. Several beer options on tap and wide selection of games.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty cool place to grab a beer and play some video games! They have several pinball machines and some video games. Their beer selection is pretty good. We didn't have any food but from what I seen it didn't look bad. Check it out play some video games and pinball!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Loved the canned cocktails. They have wingspan even though we happened to bring our own. Loved the vibes. Will be back !
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute and casual arcade bar in the neighborhood! There is a good selection of games, we played Mrs. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, pinball, and some Mario Cart. There is a bar in the back for drinks, and some seating available for just hanging out. There is also a coin machine incase you run out of quarters too!
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
Ambience - 3/5 Service - 4/5 Beer - 5/5 We initially walked-in Fogon Cocina, they had 30-40 mins wait. Thought we should grab a quick drink or beer nearby while we are waiting and glad me did it HERE! The beer was STRONG!! One was just enough to give a nice buzz. Will definitely go again. However, I wouldn't recommend any food there as it didn't seem fresh
google avatar

Kasey G.

Yelp
Might go back, they have arcade games and board games. Small place so it's hard to find tables and they had one guy working on a Saturday night. Cheap food but also not the best, they don't really have a kitchen so my friend threw away her grilled cheese, it was only $4, but still not edible Could be fun though! The game we played was really old though so maybe if they updated their games etc.
google avatar

Elaine T.

Yelp
Lowkey arcade/board game bar, with an emphasis on the games. We came here at around 9pm on a Saturday looking for a chill way to end our packed touristy day in Seattle. The ambience at Raygun was perfect with upbeat background music and enough groups playing games to create an energetic atmosphere without getting too rowdy. They have some pinball machines, a considerable selection of board games, as well as drinks and some food. We got the blackberry pear cider to sip on while playing the games and it was great. If I were a local I could definitely see myself coming here often, so if you are one don't take this spot for granted and give it a try!

Yelp
Love love love this place!! Wish I had found it sooner since being here. This is a great location (on cap hill). Not only are their beers super cheap but you can also borrow board games from them for free! (If you buy a drink). Their selection is pretty good. We went & played catan & exploding kittens. They have a lot of other options if you're not into that. They also have pinball machines. They have a limited selection of food. (We didn't get any). Beer selection is good, overall a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Took one star off bc their bathrooms are gross & not kept clean. They have a key that seems to be missing a lot of the time. But I would definitely come back here!
google avatar

Yelp
It's an old style arcade with a bunch of pinball games and some other retor video games. They serve beer, wine, seltzers, etc. It's a hole in the wall place, but a nice stop if you want to play a few games (they also have board games etc) and kids of all ages are allowed (which made it nice). I liked it.

Scott F.

Yelp
Gathered a group of friends here and we only had one thing that was an opportunity. The heat was pretty intense inside and airflow was nonexistent. Eventually after enough complaints they opened the doors and it helped some. Id say a little more attention to environmental conditions and faster resolution, otherwise we enjoyed the games.
google avatar

Yelp
Arcades are our favorite thing do on vacations. Came across Raygun through Yelp. It's a small hole in the wall location with about 10 pinball machines and a few other 80-90's arcade games. Games range from 1-3 quarters. It was fun for about an hour, used 5 bucks worth of quarters. If there were more games to choose from, they would be given 5 stars but since it lacked variety I'll give it 3.
google avatar

Lillie A.

Yelp
Came here when wandering. Awesome place! Had a seattle fry cider on tap. Played pinball for a bit, they gave cash to quarter converters which was convenient. They also have touch tunes which is always nice.
google avatar

Yelp
This place makes me miss my friends the most. I would be here all the time. Like every single day. I love the concept and space. Board games, arcades, beer and snacks. I have found paradise. Pleasantly surprised: arcades are just $0.25! Champion street fighter 2. The controls still work! Surprised. No fees to rent any of the amazing table top games. Settlers of catan. Dominion. RPGs. Cards against humanity. Crabs against humidity. You name it. So much fun Bargain. They do pitchers of beer. Warning. The Lush IPA is about 2-3 times the alcohol content as a bud light. I felt it. My next goal is to stir up the courage to jump into a pickup game of D&D. I grew up on this stuff.

S C.

Yelp
The bartender's friends hogged a pinball machine we wanted to try. It seemed like they were playing for an extended period, possibly enjoying free plays. Although we managed to use the machine just before leaving, the overall experience left a negative impression.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Pretty cool place to meet with friends for some board games. There are also some retro arcade games and a descent collection of pinball machines. They serve some food and drinks.
google avatar

Raymond T.

Yelp
I was hoping for place to play boardgames with friends and drink! And this place is just that. Although the amenities could be improved upon. The vibe is awesome with nicknacks littered around the room and comic posters on every wall. You order at the front and bring your drinks/food to the table. There's not really any table service. The game selection is pretty good with all your standard games and then some really funny ones. Cat is a really fun game especially if you have cat lovers in the group. The food selection is like bar snacks. The popcorn could've used some more flavoring, the chips and salsa were reminiscent of lunchable nachos (which I actually kinda like), and the pizza had a lot of crust to filling ratio. Overall for its prime location this place can really be used well if you know what you want to do, otherwise if you're looking for a new gaming stop I'd suggest trying MOX first.
google avatar

Selwyn M.

Yelp
Five stars for being a cool place. Pin ball machines and board games to be played. Grab a beer or a Whiteclaw and enjoy. Had a couple sandwiches and a hot dog (3 people) and the food was as good as you would think from a hot plate. Fun spot.
google avatar

Alyssa B.

Yelp
Possibly the coolest place. They have a great selection of pinball machines and classic arcade games. Is it the biggest selection? No, but what they do have is great. Also tons of board games. The atmosphere is what makes this place great though. Everyone that works there is super chill and great to strike up a conversation with. They always have good beer on tap and snacks if you get hungry. I've been to a queer game night and see other groups here all the time. They also put on some great shows or movies - last time I was in they had Aeon Flux (the cartoon) playing. My partner and I came here on our second date so the place does hold a special meaning for us, and we love dropping in to play a few rounds of Ms. Pac-man whenever we walk by.

Ben R.

Yelp
Quiet barcade, sort of geared toward D&D and board gamers. Several pinball tables were completely out of order and turned off. Bartender was grumpy. Nice that they have a food menu, although I didn't try anything.
google avatar

Yelp
Met my brother-in-law here with my husband, we had some drinks then settled into some really nostalgic gaming on some cabinets I haven't seen in 20 years. Great atmosphere, everybody was really mellow. We'll be back soon!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Super fun arcade bar to have a low key evening with friends. A local friend mentioned it to us and also came and brought some games for us to play. Good drinks, fun pinball machines, and a chill vibe, what more could you ask for?!
google avatar

Chenda N.

Yelp
We aren't "gamers", however, we do like pinball so we come here just for that. Fun and addicting selection of machines-pricing options vary and feature $2 for a few sets or $.50 for a play. A few arcade games are avail. The dollar/coin exchange machine can change up to $20 in quarters, WOW. The tables inside get filled up fast with folks playing card or board games (with caricatures)-many appear regulars and are chillin having a good time with their friends. Nice quiet crowd. Beer selection is good and restrooms are around the door (single stall I think).
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
There's really not much to be said because it's a simple place. You have pinball machines, board games, and beer. You can sit there playing games that you bring or rent board games from them. This is the place to go when you're feeling more of a chill night in Cap Hill rather than going to a bar or a club.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Quite smaller than I expected, not sure how many people they can support max! I didn't spend much time here, but they had pinball machines and a great selection of board games. Would be great for casual board games and DnD with the way the picnic tables are setup! They had a few pinball machines I haven't seen before, some old school like TWILIGHT ZONE and some new like DEAD POOL! Wish I spent more time here!
google avatar

Karyn B.

Yelp
Such a fun and underrated spot. The staff is super friendly and conversational, the arcade games are all functional (plus there's a good variety), and the beverage selection is large enough to have a satisfying variety. Can't wait to go back again! :)
google avatar

Drew N Chelsea R.

Yelp
Seriously cool! Great service, dive bar with low key environment and good energy. Grab a drink, some quarters and be a kid again!
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
This is a great bar/board game house. Everyone is super chill, dogs are allowed and well behaved and I love coming for weekly D&D here. Want fo learn to play D&D? Theres a group for that. Want to borrow a board game and play? They've got that? Pinball, beer or cheesy Sci-fi? This is your place.
google avatar

Kirstin H.

Yelp
Fun game shop/gathering place to play board and card games, or pinball. They have a fun selection of beverages and some finger foods as well. If you're planning to go as a group, I would suggest making reservations just in case!
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Came here for a DnD session and the atmosphere and spacing is great. The table was large enough for our group of 6, you get enough privacy despite it being packed, and the amount of games and arcades available is enormous. I only wish the food seemed better, or existed at all. For a Saturday they were out of a lot of options by noon. The regular coffee however was decent, fresh, and not expensive, which is a big bonus for a caffeine fan like me. Overall, I'd come back to play again.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
The Raygun Lounge is basically a place where people can get together and play board games. It is a spacious place, where it seems reasonable to find a table to settle in. The staff member was very friendly and helpful when needed. They also have a collection of games one can use for free within store. With all that said, The Raygun Lounge definitely has room to grow. Although it is a spacious place, the decor is pretty much minimal. Like what another reviewer already mentioned, the chairs are not comfy at all. I found myself to be moving often in my chair. As for their selection of drinks and food, there's not much variety. For drinks, its mainly beer and non alcoholic beverages and a few pastries, some samosas and chips for snacks. Since they don't allow outside food, I think they defintely need to improve their selections. I do like the concept of this place and will come back to hang out.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
"This place is awesome and you should try it." I feel like that statement adequately sums up this place, but for yelp's algorithm I need to make my review a tad bit longer. This place is probably perfect for any time of the day. Bored in the afternoon? Swing by with some friends for snacks and games. Tired after a long night out? Swing by with friends for drinks and games. Unfortunately I don't live nearby or I would frequent this place much more often. I didn't look at all their collection, but from what I see they have a nice mix of simple beginner's board games to the more intense 'hours long escapade' kind as well. The snacks aren't anything amazing but honestly I don't mind. They're just enough for you to munch on mindlessly while playing the games. This place is truly one of the most unique gems I've stumbled upon while traveling! (The only downside is that the restroom is a bit gross and looks creepy with all the random pictures they have staring at you..)

Allyssa H.

Yelp
Me & my partner decided to visit this place which seemed cool at a glance but once you come inside, it all goes downhill from there. Our bartender, Ryan, felt the need to not only touch his nose with his entire hand while serving, but to scratch his head as well & touch the rim of the glasses with his fingers felt like pure disrespect. I will never spend a dollar in this place again. The cherry on top was the fact that the pinball machines took my money.
google avatar

Sam D.

Yelp
Stopped in the for the first time. They have board games and pinball machines -- generally I would say it was reasonably quiet, there was chatter, but everyone was focused on their respective games. All the tables were taken and we had to share with another couple. They expect about $20/hour per table in drinks/food purchases. Since we were sharing a table, we were told about $10/hour. The drinks are pretty standard, but the food didn't seem that great so we skipped that (like just a microwave or panini grill -- no kitchen/food prep area) and they were out of a lot of stuff that day anyway. I was kinda hoping for a light game and mainly chatting with my friend, but seemed more like a place you go really to play board games (less on the chatting) so I'd recommend an actual bar which there are plenty of in the area. We went kinda earlier in the evening, so it might get better later at night, dunno. I'll probably check it out again, but only when I am really committed to playing a board game :) It feels like the Pinball Museum if you've been there (and if you haven't, you should check it out). It's capitol hill - so parking is going to suck and be very expensive. Take the light rail/bus/bike/walk.
google avatar

Chelsea G.

Yelp
They have free board game rentals with drink purchase. We played ticket to ride and had a great time with our group. There is also pinball machines and they sell games there as well. They had a few beers on tap and lots more in cans and bottles. Bathroom was gross - clearly people had peed on the floor. But that's what I'd expect from Capitol Hill bars late on a Saturday night.
google avatar

Rina K.

Yelp
Such a fun place to hang out and chill! My parents and I were visiting Seattle and had exhausted all of the typical tourist activities (space needle, harbor tour, oysters, etc) and we play Settlers of Catan as a family regularly, so I was looking for a game board cafe of sorts. Fortunately I found raygun! My dad also used to play pinball as a kid, so he was having a blast playing and teaching me and my mom how to properly tilt the machine without the machine thinking you're tilting the machine. I called ahead and would recommend to do so as the staff can easily tell you if they're busy or not for the day/night. We ordered one drink each and ended up staying a few hours playing catan and pinball. Highly recommend as a break from tourist activities!
google avatar

Brendan c.

Yelp
The place is getting better in my opinion but the size is still at let down. The pinball machines and the classic arcade machines are a joy to see. The 6 large tables with bench seats was a poor choice. You can't really get a group of friends together without being in each others way at times. The food selections is small and could be so much better. Get a crockpot for some soup next to grill cheese offering at the very least, add some bags snacks maybe and get a little creative. Cans of beer and grilled cheese doesn't seem like worth the trip with friend to Raygun unless you like in a dorm room on campus. They do have a number of events and game nights which i think is great and makes the place welcoming.
google avatar

Connie F.

Yelp
Fun place to hang and play games with friends. It can get crowded with limited space. Good amount of games with games to purchase as well. There's also pinball machines and some retro arcade games like bubblepop, simpsons, metal slug, and street fighter. You are encouraged to buy a drink, nothing special at the "bar" either.

Tony S.

Yelp
The game selection has degraded, food is a bit pricey compared to what I'm used to... but that's the norm for Seattle and there are no food options for diabetics. My Meetup group meets there every Sunday and I can't order anything from the menu. It sucks watching people eat and not being able to do so myself. The arcade games are the best feature of the whole place. I miss when it was Gamma Ray Games & Raygun Lounge... not just Raygun.
google avatar

Monica Q.

Yelp
Despite the rating, I have to say that I really love this place. It has a great set of games and it's a nice place to have some low key fun for those who like to play games. The main reason why I'm not coming here all the time is that I really dislike the food. I don't know where they get it, but I do think Raygun would do so much better by investing in some better food. Even if it's like frozen stuff - just buy better food from Costco! Seriously, this is the only reason why I don't come here more often. Have some more food, and I'll be here very very often!
google avatar

Florian D.

Yelp
"My dream come true" On one wall are lined up one flipper after the other cheerfully beeping and pinging, on the opposite side is a desk, with a drag queen behind it, whom plays with half the room a Game and the rest is sitting at their tables, happily playing some board games. I think about spending my whole trip in Seattle for a moment, but am immediately swept away by a friendly young lady who invites me to a beer and literally integrates me. I then landed at a table with 3 other vacationers from Kansas and we fought until 00:00 with a board game, which probably none of us understood. In short, it was awesome!
google avatar

Lindsay P.

Yelp
I've been looking for a place with board games for a while and The Raygun Lounge was everything I was looking for and more. They have a really cool selection of games that I am excited to try and learn about. Today I played Settlers of Catan with some friends for hours and just hung out. We had such a great time! We were also able to get some beers too which was awesome. After we left we decided that this would be our go to hang out spot... we loved it that much! The vibe there is great and there is so much to do. Would definitely recommend if you are into board games!
google avatar

Lee H.

Yelp
Such a cool place to meet new people, drink a decent cup of coffee, and discover new board games. I've been here at least 4 times in the past 3 months, and I live on the east coast. If you're a fan of Dungeons and Dragons, pathfinder, or any other Table Top game check out their cool dice assortment as well as the 75 cent prize machine the gives out random Table top game stuff. I got 3 figurines one of which was painted and a new dice bag. They have a selection of nibbles like pizza, cookies, etc... they have a decent selection of beer, and the americano I got was rather delicious. All in all give this place a shot it's super worth it.
google avatar

Kellie L.

Yelp
Pretty cool place.... They utilized the space fairly well. I have never been to a 'board game bar'... so this was my first. I didn't check out the menu, but my partner in crime did. He said it looked pretty good... he wished there was more.. I said, More what?! How would you make it better? He said he would think on it. I liked the big windows in the front for two reasons, I love being able to people watch, and I am sure if I was on the outside, I would love looking in. The bathroom however, wasn't so good. I understand that they needed to make a unisex bathroom, but it would have been nicer... a lady's point of view... if they had made the girl's restroom the unisex one, instead of the men's. If a man needs the stall, we girls have to wait longer. :( Sorry if that is too much too say, but it was an unfortunate experience.

Yelp
It has board games. It has Pinball. It has coffee. It has space to play board games and drink coffee. What's not to love?? Also the owner is friendly and helpful - and a true geek (with all the knowledge that comes with that).
