Jerry Seinfeld Is Dropping Joke Reviews of the Diners From ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ | Eater

"A playful endorsement of the turtle brownie sundae—Seinfeld recommends ordering it but advises asking staff to “take the shell off otherwise you are picking underneath a lot.” He visited with Tracy Morgan, and the tone suggests a favorable, tongue-in-cheek appraisal consistent with his mostly four-star mini-reviews on Google Maps." - Greg Morabito

Raymond’s was a great diner that was nice and clean with great customer service. I had the omelette with bacon and Gruyère cheese and thought it was delicious, although the side of potato were just OK. My wife had the runny egg, although it was a little too over easy for her. The kids had the pancakes and really enjoyed them. Overall, for a diner this was pretty good. It’s a really cute diner with a nice layout too!

Google
Casual, diner-type spot. They offer classic sandwiches, salads & breakfast items. The grilled cheese was delicious with bacon on it. The space is fairly tight, with three of us being sat at a small round table that would comfortably seat two. They can accommodate larger groups, however, they do not accept reservations. There is a small waiting area before being seated, so if there are several groups waiting, you may need to wait outside for your table. There is street parking available nearby.

Google
Egg Benedict was hard boiled eggs on dry Canadian bacon. Baja fish taco was a bite size with no seasoning. On the menu, it said blackened mahi-mahi, but it was a tilapia

We stopped by Raymond’s Diner in Ridgewood for brunch today and it was so nice! My husband ordered a breakfast eggs and potatoes and I ordered a hot cup of coffee with warm ricotta donuts…. So good! And our waitress Erica was the absolute best! She was so attentive and sweet! We’ll definitely be back! The atmosphere was so cozy and the restaurant was so accommodating to our service dog. Highly recommend!

Google
Great spot for breakfast! The French toast was perfectly fluffy and delicious. If you’re craving something savory, go for the omelet. Definitely worth a visit!

Came here without looking at reviews, just looking for coffee and brunch. Ordered a latte and iced mocha latte to start. My latte was fine, not my favorite. My boyfriend’s mocha was terrible, I tried it too and I am not sure what was off. Maybe the mocha was off or cross contaminated with something. The steak and eggs were nothing to rave about. Boyfriend didn’t like the home potatoes but I thought they were nice and crispy. The egg Noreigen was good but seemed to be missing some flavor.

A friend brought me here for lunch and I loved it! I got the avocado toast with poached eggs and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The decor and environment was great as well. I will be back whenever I am in the area again. Thank you(:

Google
Very pretty interior, service was fast but kind of meh. Norwegian Eggs Benedict had like a teaspoon of Hollandaise sauce on them, but some ridiculous amount of home fries that were strangely huge in size, too. I would come back but try something else next time.

Yelp
I was in the area looking to find a home and came across this spot on a Sunday. It was very easy to park and had a good amount of outdoor seating. The town is quiet and very enjoyable for a late lunch/early dinner. My server was great! She's fairly new at this but was kind and quick to assist. Gustavo keeps his team in order and helps out where he's needed. I had the Tuna burger. It was fresh and delicious. I think it was a bit overcooked but I didn't specify how I'd like it. The fruit wasn't too cold for my teeth, which I really enjoy. I'd come back for sure.

Yelp
For as long as we had been coming to Ridgewood's town, Raymond's red awning on the corner of E Ridgewood and Oak always stood out, but with all of the restaurants in the area, it was always "next time" ...... and "next time" FINALLY came to be. We dropped in on a warm, early Friday evening at around 5:45 and the restaurant was pretty much empty, except for 2 other occupied tables. In the times that we thought we'd come here for dinner, we looked at the menu, but everything always seemed a bit pricier than we'd like, especially because of the fact that it seemed to have less to choose from. They had a "diner-ish" menu, but didn't have the full variety offering of a diner. HOWEVER, one nice surprise was that they had a kids menu, which they don't advertise on their website. We didn't start with any appetizer and went straight to entrees. My better half ordered the Autumn Salad with Shrimp, I had the Black Bean Veggie Burger (with Fries) and the kids shared a small order of Mac and Cheese and a Kids Junior Burger. My wife thought her salad was subpar. The salad was mostly chopped romaine and didn't have much flavor, according to her, but the shrimp was decent (there were 5 in it). As for my Black Bean Veggie Burger, it was HUGE. The veggie burger's flavor was good, but it fell apart within the first bite. It was like eating a giant, soft falafel that just crumbled. It was a bit dry too, so ketchup was a must for it. The fries that came with it were very good though - could have come out hotter, but still decent. As for the Kids Junior Burger, it was cooked perfectly for us as we had asked, which was medium well. I didn't get a chance to try it, but it looked pretty juicy. Our kids also loved the Mac and Cheese. I had a few bites and thought was OK. It was on the gooey side, which I'm a fan of. By 6:30 PM, the restaurant was pretty busy. Turnover was high, so there was always a few tables free, but the waiters were definitely working their tails off at that point. Service with the food was good and the waiters kept providing us with extra ketchup every time we requested for it. Overall, the food was decent. We'd definitely prefer more variety. I do know that they are a popular brunch spot, so maybe we'd give it another go around for brunch.

Yelp
Entering Raymond's is like stepping back in time to a retro French bistro. The art deco light fixtures glow over the red leather banquettes and marble top tables. We had a cheeseburger with french fries, served in a silver cup and a turkey club sandwich. Food is 5/5, presentation 5/5. Excellent service.

Yelp
Loved our brunch here! I think it's typically busy but we went on a rainy Saturday and had no wait. The service was a bit slow but the food was great! We had the BLT, wheatberry salad, and the cobbler to share. Everything was tasty and it was a cozy, neighborhood spot vibe.

Yelp
Raymond's is a local institution for higher end quality "diner" food that has been around for quite a while. Decor is old city diner with a counter & stools and plenty of white subway tiles. Plenty of street and public parking ( a 2nd location in Montclair). I used to go more often but it's been a while. Staff is very friendly, however on our recent visit, they forgot some items a few times, even though it was not that packed. OK, maybe a bad day.....it happens. The FOOD.....plenty of spins on classics dishes, many towards the healthy version while still keep it comfort food. -Their French toast is legendary (my favorite in any restaurant I've tried) and still so amazing; made on Nicolo's baguette, fresh fruit on top with berkshire maple syrup; it is a large portion and one of my favorites anywhere. I had it with the chicken apple sausage on the side which ( when it finally arrived) was just ok. The side of mac & cheese was plenty for 2 to share and very good, but not life changing. The pancakes were fluffy & light. I recommend paying the $2 upcharge and getting the fresh blueberry sauce ( if you like blueberries). One thing I tried that was sooo good was the Turmeric Almond Latte that was so bursting with flavor and creamy goodness that I had a 2nd cup. All the dishes being delivered to other tables all looked fantastic. From big omelets with home fries, to a triple decker club sandwich, even the onion rings looked seriously good. I really feel the need to go back; try some other items, and if as good as breakfast, and the orders come out all at once, a definite 5 Star.

Yelp
Ok, ok, ok. I am so used to Montclair that every time I visit Ridgewood it's quite frankly a bit of a disappointment. Sure the aesthetics are the same as the original ... all that old world charm but man I was craving those ultra delicious waffles (as in Montclair) and man was I disappointed. What the heck? Who puts chopped passion fruit and litter it all over waffle? And that waffle? I could have went to any diner for the same quality and waste. The one bright spot was the huevos rancheros, they were perfect. The steaks and eggs at first appeared to be a nice generous portion but upon closer inspection it was a mirage and was lacking taste and salt. The food isn't quite terrible but it should be so much better! Btw, the coffee has also changed, not quite for the better either. I guess I'll be sticking to the Montclair location.

Yelp
its a nice diner-esque vibes on the inside but the place felt a little empty. staff and service was good, and honestly the rainy muggy overcast weather outside actually added a nice homey touch. food was alright - got overeasy eggs with homefries, and a waffle with berries. the waffle was a bit flavorless and the homefries also lacked basic seasoning. eggs were fine and the berries did their own work. as always, coffee at a diner sucks but no points lost for that.

Yelp
Brunch at Raymond's in Ridgewood. Unlimited coffee !!!! All the three dishes were great. The Raymond's omelets and added some mushrooms, the chopped salad was surprisingly pleasant. I would say that among the three, huevos rancheros was the most disappointing, but it was still good hahahaha The only complaint was that the inner lounge was very loud, as if reflecting all the sound. Next time, we will definitely request to be seated in the main hall.

Yelp
I've been coming to Raymond's in Ridgewood for quite some time. Never had a bad experience until just in the last year. Food quality has gone downhill, and fast. The last few times have been so depressing that my experience was lackluster. I ordered the omelet with gruyere and avocado and no toast. Both times it was greasy, the cheese hard, and not even hot. The grease really over powered the taste of the omelet itself. The fact that the cheese overcooked and crunchy is not a good sign, either. The person I was with had the BLT with avocado. Even his was greasy and the bacon cooked so hard, it was like biting into glass. Obviously, the cooks in the back are not caring about the food quality. Sending out food that is subpar is a problem. I spoke to the manager on both occasions, but her attitude was lacking in understanding. The second time I had an issue she told me, "that i always complain." Not sure where she is qualified to be a manager. To speak to a customer like that shows her lack of experience in a customer based business. I guess she doesn't like criticism to the food that her cooks are putting out. She also had the waitress hand us the check after I was talked down to by her. She really should be in a job that requires her to not work with customers. Her miscommunication skills are on a high school level. If, that. Sad to say, that I will not be a regular at Raymond's any more. The food and angry manager issue will cause me to go to much better establishments in the area.

Yelp
Wait was not bad for a Sunday bunch! Service was good. I had the avocado toast, which was okay. A lot of the toast was burnt so that was disappointing. The smashed avocado & poached eggs were delicious, though.

Yelp
Ate here on Saturday for lunch and had a great experience. It was super busy but we were still seated in less than 15 minutes. The vibe of the restaurant is super cute and it feels like an elevated diner. Our waiter was very fast and so nice despite how busy it was on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered a caesar salad and fries. The salad was great and had the perfect amount of dressing. The fries were perfect, I was originally going to get waffles but then saw the fries and they looked too good to pass up. They didn't disappoint!
google avatar

Eduardo C.

Yelp
I've been to Raymond's plenty of times and have always had a pleasant experience. Wait time for a table has never been more than 15 minutes and the hostess is always smiling with a positive attitude. The food has been excellent. I loved the Mexican burrito bowl with good mix of flavors. The eggs Benedict is a classic. The French toast had a perfectly crisp exterior and soft inside. For the Belgian hot chocolate id ask that the marshmallow be halved- it was tooo large.
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast place!! It has a vand they have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the nice summer mornings!
google avatar

Zachary L.

Yelp
Acceptable diner food. Went here for a Saturday dinner and the place was not crowded at all. The decor of colored bottles and Christmas music was nice. We got a hamburger which was dry and a tad overcooked, the fried chicken which was quite good, and baked mac and cheese which was just OK.
google avatar

Dennis M.

Yelp
Dine al fresco tonight. Staff is pleasant and prompt. Had a craving for fried chicken. It was so good. Piping hot, fresh, not greasy. Pleasant dining experience.
google avatar

Ron F.

Yelp
First time here stopped in for lunch. Seated right away. Service was very good. I ordered wings for appetizers. They were really good and nice flavor. I ordered a Cheeseburger with fries. Asked for medium. Came out more raw than med. Good flavor nice burger but when the juice soaks your bun starts falling apart. Over all I would recommend if in the area. The restaurant is well decorated.
google avatar

Megan A.

Yelp
Food is just OK, there are certainly better choices in Ridgewood for breakfast. The menu is small and nothing too fancy. Service was slow, and inattentive.

Cindy R.

Yelp
Food is ok ..the hostess is rude and has her nose so far up in the air ... you're not better than the people that pay your salary by eating at the restaurant ! Try some kindness
google avatar

Mike V.

Yelp
If you know, you know. Both locations ( Montclair and Ridgewood) consistently turn out great eats. Breakfast all day as well as an interesting menu that never disappoints. Tuna Nicoise was a beautifully crafted combination of the classics dish. The BLT was described as " the best ever". Both restaurants are BYO- so what are you waiting for?
google avatar

Yelp
We came here during early lunch. We ordered the Baja Fish Tacos and the Fish n Chips entrées. Baja Fish Tacos- very juicy and not dry, everything was breaking apart quickly. My spice tolerance isn't good and I don't like how it wasn't listed on the menu with a red chili pepper sign. If a food item is going to have red pepper flakes all over the tacos, at least give a warning to customers who don't like spice. The Fish was good, the cabbage was messy and I couldn't enjoy holding the tacos. Fish n chips- not worth it for how little amount it was. The quality was okay, but two pieces of Fish and more potatoes doesn't make the meal what it is. French Fries - crisp and tasted good Service was okay. For a quiet afternoon, service could have been better to check on us. We didn't need to stay for dessert knowing how lunch already was going at Raymond's. All forms of payment are accepted, parking is available anywhere around town. Presentation inside "Raymond's" gives you a nostalgic feel of old school New York City diners. Food and prices don't match up.

Yelp
Been coming to Raymond's for years (both to their Montclair and Ridgewood locations). Love all the fun and flavorful menu items but always LOVED the blueberry pie. It's always been a seasonal favorite for me and hundreds of devout followers, but this year they sadly removed it from their menu. With hopes they will bring it back (even it's for a short while). Te ambiance is usually very loud especially since they use tin ceilings, but the ascetics are lively and welcoming. We also like coming here because their servers are always friendly and punctual. Please Please Please bring back the blueberry pie. Yum!

T G.

Yelp
Excellent all the way around. Beautifully designed uncomfortable space to ride a backdrop for great service responsive folks on a wonderful menu. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Mariann H.

Yelp
Had some errands to run in Ridgewood today. It was such a nice day, decided to go to Raymond's for brunch. Had the baguette French Toast and it was absolutely delicious. As an added benefit our waiter was wonderful.
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
Walking into Raymond's, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we got a table for two--no long wait, just a smooth and welcoming experience. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between classic and modern, giving off the charm of an old-school pancake house while still feeling fresh and updated. It felt warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was fantastic, with delicious pancakes and other breakfast favorites that were cooked to perfection. One standout was their Belgian hot chocolate rich, creamy, and absolutely worth ordering. Overall, it was a great experience with quick seating, a cozy ambiance, and amazing food. Definitely a spot worth visiting!!!! Also If you do find yourself waiting for a table, there's a cute little park right across in the parking lot area, making the wait much more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience, thank you.

Yelp
Came here tonight with family of 6 First off service is terrible Half hour for food to come out Prices don't warrant the food Not good Ordered Omelets Just fries No toast or bread Must be kidding Coming to town 35 years This was not a good experience Will not return Be aware of this place
google avatar

Zed A.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick breakfast and was seated immediately (granted it was only me and fairly busy). Ordered avocado toast and coffee. Service was great and food very yummy. I've been in before and had to wait up to 45 mins so it was nice to get in and out quickly.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Came here to eat brunch. I had my dogs with me so we ate outside which was beautiful. The food was delicious and would definitely come back here again. The service was friendly and even though we were outside he was very attentive.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Food was ok. Price seemed high. We got boxed into a corner. Waiters forgot about us because we were hidden. They just jam in as many people as possible. I would've been very happy to wait 5-10 minutes for a better table.
google avatar

Jordyn C.

Yelp
It's great to be back home and going to Raymond's! It was a routine of my family and I going every weekend, Saturday mornings. It's still the same. Great food (favorite, eggs Norwegian) with my Yogic iced chai latte. They do seem very crowded in the mornings. Their location is on a great spot and had a great view of the small Van Neste Park across the street!
google avatar

Cynthia F.

Yelp
The mahi fish tacos were OK but not great. Delivered by DoorDash. The fish was a little over cooked. The tacos were oily on the outside. The slaw fell out of the tacos. Thankfully the avocado cream was on the side, in a cup. These tacos might be excellent freshly eaten in the restaurant. But I won't order them for take out again.
google avatar

Jeongmin H.

Yelp
Been coming here for a few years and they have excellent service and good food but I personally don't really get why this place is hyped up so much. It's just like any other brunch spots in the area imo. But I've only been here for their brunch hours so perhaps their dinner menu is better?
google avatar

Diana B.

Yelp
The ambiance is like a diner. The service was okay. Kind of had to wave down the server a couple times to get help. It was slightly busy but not too busy the time we went. Kinda chilly so bring a sweater or light jacket inside. The tuna salad was okay. Nothing fancy or different. A bit on the citrus side with the vinaigrette used. The bacon was basic. I think maybe if they added brown sugar it would definitely make a huge difference. The salmon Benedict is mediocre too. Similar to most places I've been too. The French toast was probably the best thing we ordered but it was something you can order anywhere. The syrup wasn't warm either. Nothing wow about the place to me. This is just your average diner if other places are too busy.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
Used to be very good but that was then - this is now -why does it take 12 minutes to get a cup of coffee- quit it with that whole time wasting ceremony- from the machine- in the steel pot -on the tray -whew -what a waste of time. Food doesn't arrive hot any more either. Staff is polite but inattentive. Hostess is decoration only.
google avatar

Todd C.

Yelp
Raymond's is on the corner of the downtown area. Parking is exclusively on the street. It has an old school diner vibe. We had to wait about 15 mins for a table of 6 on a Monday afternoon. The service was good and the food came out relatively quickly. I ordered the cobb salad without cheese and it was good. The size was about average and the ranch dressing was a nice touch. I tried the french fries, which came as an appropriate sized portion. Initially I was thinking of ordering a side portion but the $9 price tag scared me off. The bill was $120 for 5 adults and a child - a tad pricey for lunch.
google avatar

Ellen E.

Yelp
Service was good, everyone was very friendly and professional. Atmosphere was very nice, gorgeous lighting and aesthetics inside. My problem arises with the food itself; I ordered the autumn chopped salad ($17 ) and it was definitely not worth it. The produce seemed not so fresh and the dressing was bland. The fries here are pretty bad and also overpriced. I had a few bites of the turkey club though, which was pretty nice. *Edit* The roof of my mouth feels like it's been passed over with sandpaper after that turkey club! Worth it though!

Arman A.

Yelp
Avoid this place, terrible service even worse food. Slowest service in town, it took them 30 mins to take our order when the place was %70 empty. Another 45mins for the food to be prepared. Food was below mediocre, there arent a lot of restaurants near by. Not coming back here for sure.
google avatar

Kay D.

Yelp
Delicious and cute brunch spot with a great atmosphere and service! I have been here multiple times and enjoy many different things on the menu!

Yelp
YUM! It took me awhile to choose a breakfast place in Ridgewood, and I'm so glad I picked here! 10 out of 10! Beautiful french looking bistro, and our waiter was hilarious! Awesome service! Now the food...my steak and eggs were perfection! My whole plate was seasoned perfectly, no salt needed, and I usually salt everything! -steak cooked perfectly rare as I ordered it, super tender -potatoes: AMAZING! No idea how they were so tasty and not greasy -chimichhurri sauce: so flavorful and spicy without being overpowering My sis had a special - an Autumnal veggie egg scramble with butternut squash purée and served on fresh sourdough. WOW! The presentation was gorgeous, a nice large portion, and it was delicious! Loved that the natural sweetness of the butternut squash did not overpower the savory quality of the dish. If you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for?! :)

Yelp
Our first impression of Raymond's didn't really start off on the right foot. Our 15 minute wait became 20 then 25 minutes. People who came in after us were seated before us. When we checked, they had "forgotten" about us and we were then almost immediately seated. Once seated, we had time to peruse the menu, decide what we wanted and had plenty of time to change our minds before our waitress even came to the table. We placed our drink orders along with our food orders - we weren't taking a chance on another extended wait. It took awhile for our food to come. I ordered a cup of soup in addition to a BLT. The soup came out the same time as my meal - it just took away from being able to really enjoy each item on its own. The BLT was served on grilled 7 grain bread. There was plenty of the BLT ingredients but way too much mayo. The bacon, while it looked crisp, was very tough - not crispy at all. It just wasn't all that great. The accompanying fries were very good though. I also had a bowl of matzo ball soup. It was good - nothing really noteworthy here though. One of my friends had the black bean burger. It was quite a large patty and looked really good but crumbled on his first bite. My other friend ordered the Huevoes Rancheros. She did enjoy her dish. If you are in any bit of a hurry you might want to reconsider eating at Raymond's. We had tickets for a show following brunch, accounting for a wait, we gave ourselves plenty of time - almost two hours. Luckily we made it to the show with five minutes to spare.

Yelp
Happened to walk by after having lunch in Ridgewood and looked inside. The vibe was warm and welcoming so we decided to have dessert and coffee here. We were not disappointed. Great food, great customer service, and an upscale diner feel that was lively yet personal at the same time. The donuts with raspberry and chocolate sauce were excellent, and so were the cappuccinos. My friends had a cute little flower on it, and mine looked more like a creamy hurricane, but it tasted great. No complaints! Our server brought out the donuts with a candle in them. He sang happy birthday and the tables next to us joined in, making my friend's day. We are definitely coming back for a full meal at some point!

Yelp
We arrived close to 1pm and it looked like there was a wait. We were able to grab a spot at the bar top & got in quick. This place is booming! Service is fast. The food is great! Everything that went by looked so good it was hard to make a decision. I had the burrito bowl & my husband had the corned beef sandwich. It came with a side of coleslaw, I'm not typically a fan but I might order a whole bowl of it next time, it was so good! I love the classic style of the place. If we were in town longer I would've loved to have tried this place for dinner. Next time.
google avatar

Alicia M.

Yelp
I had the Greek omelette with French fries & it was excellent. The food I ordered was delivered hot, fresh & quickly. The staff was super friendly & attentive. I sat inside as it was a heat wave at the time but if I went back I'd choose to sit outside & dine instead.

Yelp
Finally, I got to try their lunch menu items, which starts after 11am. Surprisingly on a Sunday noon time, we got a table within 10 minutes of waiting. As usual, the restaurant was packed. But the service was efficient, so they were able to turn around empty tables pretty fast, and keep the lines short. This time I tried the smoked chicken wings and Spiced Ahi Tuna Burger (with extra fried egg) from the lunch menu. The chicken wings tasted good with a mix of sauce. I felt the wings could have been little bit more moist. But I was throughly impressed with my Ahi Tuna Burger. All the ingredients, including the fried egg, came together so nicely. There was no smell of any fish. The paddy was filled with Ahi tuna. The other layer of the paddy is well cooked, but the middle part is somewhat smoked pink. Food taste - 5/5 Food Prep Time - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - $$$$ Items Tried: Spiced Ahi Tuna Burger - 5/5 Smoked Chicken Wings - 4/5

Yelp
My sister-in-law recommended we meet here for lunch. This place does not accept reservations. We arrived around 11:45am. I put my name in with the hostess on their wait list. I was told it may take up to 30 minutes for a table for four. We had to wait outside on the corner sidewalk in the heat. There is no waiting space inside. This place is always busy. Many customers were waiting outside for their names to be called. Our booth became available after about a 30 minute wait. Our booth was to the right of the entrance. When our non alcoholic drinks arrived by a server she knocked over one of our iced tea on our table. She cleaned up our table and returned with a replacement iced tea. Even the manager came over with a wet towel to clean up the tile floor. They should have a wet mop handy for such accidents. This is a very noisy restaurant. I heard many utensils, dishes, glasses and other things dropping on their tile floor. The staff here seems to be clumsy. On the bright side, my eggs benedict were cooked perfectly and were tasty. I don't like when my poached eggs are overcooked to the point of the yolks being solid or not so liquid. Gustavo S. served our table. We split the bill in two. My share was $29 less gratuities. This is a popular place. I don't understand the reason for its popularity.

Yelp
Delicious and inventive approach to comfort food. Pricey, but to be expected with a prime location in Ridgewood.
google avatar

Yelp
Although I'm nearby, never been here before. After looking at the brunch menu, just looking for something simple. Soup and salad, however after my guest (my son) ordered, vegan chili, that sounded like something I wanted to try. There is nothing further that I would have had on my mind than vegan chili. Surprised how good it was. Side of home fries as well. So although the experience was limited to chili, it was good. By the way, my son forgot his wallet. Service was just a two and dragged down the time waiting waiting. Coffee was ice cold. Even trying to get a bill and pay was as long as the meal.

Yelp
Classic / charming Forty's Diner/ French bistro Vibes immediately come to mind from the black and white honeycomb tiled floors, marble top bistro tables, red leather banquettes, Art Deco light fixtures, grand windows and tin ceilings. The restaurant does get busy for lunch and even busier in the evenings. They also feature outdoor seating. The food is good, good stop for a quick bite. Excellent grilled cheese sandwiches. I was really looking forward to the Blueberry Pie but was disappointed that they sold out of them (which I found strange as it was the middle of lunch). Definitely poor planning on a popular item. I had the berry cobbler which was good but served extremely hot. The service of our waitress (Teresa O.) was great (she had someone shadowing/training) and she checked her tables often. However the service of the runner was a aloof - needs hospitality training. One area of improvement would be attention to detail (cleanliness) as the space could be much cleaner (banquette had crumbs in the seat, under the banquette were French fries and paper, there was food smeared in the sugar caddy and our b&b plates could have been cleaner also). If these areas are addressed it would make up for a lackluster experience. It had been some time before this past Sunday since I was last here, unfortunately this will be my last impression.

Yelp
It was easy to accommodate a large group when we went. I got the fried chicken but it was largely pink and red on the inside. I asked the waitress about it and she said "you wanted it well done?" EXCUSE ME??? It's chicken!! It has to be well done! It looked good but others at my table who got the fried chicken also said it was pink in many places and we couldn't finish it. The bathroom is also dark. The pricing was good but I would not return, due to the issues with the meat being undercooked.

Yelp
What I like about Raymond's is it's food is pretty good and it's BYOB. It's a cozy yet lively cafe. Love their burgers, brunch, breakfast burrito, fries are great. The only thing that's tough is from a mom's perspective. With a baby their bathroom's are downstairs and they don't have a changing table. Only wish they could be a little more accommodating in that sense.
