Came in and sat down for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Not that busy. Ordered steak burrito with everything and did not disappoint. They fill that burrito up and are not stingy. The price was also very good considering it being in the Pilsen neighborhood. They've been in the game for a long time and glad to see them still keeping quality up. Make sure you bring cash, CASH ONLY.

Raymond’s Tacos No. 2 is a true neighborhood gem. The tacos de lengua are easily some of the best I’ve had—tender, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. Each bite feels thoughtfully prepared, with fresh toppings and a perfectly crisp tortilla that elevates the experience. Equally impressive were the aguas frescas. Both the agua de jamaica and agua de horchata struck a perfect balance—vibrant, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It’s clear that attention to flavor and authenticity extends beyond just the tacos. While the lengua is the standout, the rest of the menu is solid and satisfying, making it a reliable go-to for quality Mexican food. Quick service and a friendly atmosphere round out the visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comforting, flavorful bites done right.

A short walk from the Chicago Intl Produce Market this place serves up some great grub. I like the “small business” feel it has and the Horchata was very sweet and creamy with a great taste. The burger tasted like something you would find at a drive thru old school burger joint. Portions are large and food was fulfilling.

Good tacos and horchata! I did a review for my YouTube channel "Mailman Nick"

Google
1 of the best spots for Tacos and Burittos. Don't let the American Cheese scare you, it works and is delicious! They also have probably 1 of the best Verde Salsas around. They only accept cash but do have an ATM. This is definitely a must try if you're on the Southside!

Love the food. Best taco place that is reasonable in price.

Pretty busy place even during the weekdays. Got their shrimp dinner and a couple tacos from here - they tasted decent and their salsa was alright too. Personally nothing super special for me; decent place to get a bite to eat. Their shrimp dinner was just fried breaded shrimp with fries and a small side of salad.

Yelp
Local taco spot!!! Quick and friendly service. Best horchata I think I've ever had in my life and that will 100% be the reason for my return. Food is good, nothing fancy. Definitely want to go back and try some different meats.

Yelp
Came across this place at midnight. We got a torta, burrito and a taco. Let me say the chicken isn't that bad. As I arrive to this place, there already a line. Looks like this is another place where people come to grab a bite. They only accept cash. Street parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good albeit simple taco spot. Avoid the fries, they're greasy & utterly flavorless. The onion rings were actually pretty damn good. I finished them off almost before I got home. The tacos most appealing aspect was the cheese. They're big, cheap & pretty damn good & honestly rank amongst some of the best I've had from a casual/take out establishment. For just under $40 my wife & kid were quite satisfied. I'd be comfortable at saying that 3 tacos is sufficient for any appetite. Lastly if dining in know that the place is small & there's even live singing

Yelp
Stopped in on lunch cause it was close, didn't want Mexican food today so I tried a cheeseburger, fries, and a lemonade. It's a hole in the wall local place with a whole lot of heart. It's cash only which I wish I'd known before going. But that's okay because they had an ATM. The workers move fast and you can tell they've got a system down. The burger was good, plain and simple, what's interesting is it's almost seasoned like Mexican food which makes sense because they're cooking Carne Asada right next to it. It's super decent and only 4 dollars. Fries are fluffy and fresh, a bit greasy and not salted but they're good. Lemonade is the most unique thing I got, it's the perfect balance between sweet and sour and it's fresh. I'll definitely be back if I work over here again.

Yelp
I normally get tacos! Today I finally decided to try the burger! Excellent!!! Will order again!!!

Ayy J.

Yelp
I have been coming here since I was a child. I live in the neighborhood so it's always been a spot. I always get Horchata. My favorite is the burrito. It's something about the cheese that makes it so delicious. I'm also a fan of the chicken tacos the prices on the burgers and the chicken sandwiches are all under five dollars. The bathroom is small but clean and they have an extra back area to sit in.NOTE. ITS CASH ONLY

Yelp
Totally unassuming place, I saw in an article online they are ranked highly as one of the best tacos spots in Chicago. So I figured I'd go check it out. I went to the location on the south side at Damen & Blue Island. I ordered a pastor taco and ribeye torta. Both items were average. I'd have to say the salsa was not as spicy I would like either. They don't have chips and salsa available, I found that kind of abnormal. Be sure you bring cash as they don't accept credit cards. The ATM in the restaurant is often utilized. Overall, I would say it's a good taco joint, but I didn't agree with the article that said they're one of the best in Chicago.

Lorrie B.

Yelp
Went here on 10/10/2024 and ordered 5 steak tacos, 2 for me & 3 for my son. The tacos didn't look like they were completely cooked and were flavorless. My son said one of his was grayish looking. If I lived near, I defiantly would have taken them back. $3.85 for a tasteless taco. I will not be returning.
google avatar

Victoria A.

Yelp
Incorrect and tasteless order. Asked for carne asada and got a torta of ground beef. Just mush...AL pastor tacos were flavorless. Never again.
google avatar

Nathan W.

Yelp
This cash only restaurant is located on 2406 S Blue Island Avenue. Ordered a steak burrito, an al pastor torta, and a lengua taco with cheese. The best thing here was the lengua taco. It was a bit charred but it gave the meat good flavor. The cheese was melted between 2 corn tortillas and for a few cents more, it was worth it. Overall, the quality wasn't the best, but the portions were big. They gave a lot of salsa compared to how much was ordered.

Manny N.

Yelp
Been going to them since the early 90s with my pops. And he was going to it way before I was born, now I take my kid to enjoy this hood gem
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
The service was quick and amazing. The tacos are delicious and savoring. I drive from NC just to try this place I've been hearing about. The burgers taste like the ones you get if you ever been to Mexico. Not the cheap plastic tat sting ones American food chains have. The horchata was like a mixture of milkshake and smoothie blend.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, so I consider myself a connoisseur of Tacos!!!! Taco Tuesday happens ANYDAY we can get a good tasty Taco!!!! Raymond and The Lord must have some kind of agreement, because his Tacos are Heavenly!!! google avatar

Ranillo R.

Yelp
Got to try this gem of a taco place on Taco Tuesday, and it is definitely worth the drive to Pilsen. The tacos here at Raymond's are as good as advertised. I ended up trying their asada tacos, lingua, and al pastor. They were all amazing and so delicious. They give you extra sauce and its so spicy, but so so good! Their asada burrito was stuffed with so much meat filled with the right toppings inside. I must also their horchata is near the top of the best horchatas I ever tried. So so good. Prices are reasonable especially during these difficult times. It was quite the drive for me, but I have no regrets because it was definitely worth it. Service was fast and prompt. Friendly too. They follow all thr Covid protocol. Parking is metered or you can just park on Damen for free. Definitely will come back again in near future!
google avatar

Yelp
3 steak tacos with cilantro and onion on corn tortillas. Very good quality. The hot sauce was not hot enough, just average
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
They need to drop there prices a bit cause there tacos aren't big enough to be charging that amount. Sorry‍‍‍
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Tacos is ok not that good or better that deserves 4 stars. They didn't ask if for eat in or carry out when I got it it's for carry out. There's a few tables that you self order fast food style
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Great spot to crush that hunger! Ribeye tacos are a must and burritos are a decent size.
google avatar

Ramone P.

Yelp
Me & the Mrs. was looking for a late night restaurant that we never been to, So Raymond's Hamburgers & Tacos was the one we chose. To start off they stay open til 4am. They have a medium size eating area, with a nice chill....."I just left the club" atmosphere. Their steak tacos are very good, which I had three of. They give you a nice amount of meat on your tacos which is a plus. When it comes to them putting cheese on the taco. I didn't like that they put American cheese in between two taco shells. Don't know if you can get shredded cheese, But when I go back I'll ask. Overall it was a great experience, the steak tacos had a great taste, and I'll be back to try more of their menu. They get a thumbs up, so I recommend you go check out this restaurant.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
OMG. Insanely great tacos with a twist. Make sure you order " con queso " ( with cheese ). They will make your taco with a double tortilla and yellow cheese in the middle. I know it sounds different but trust me you will be hooked. My personal favorites are the luenga and menudo on Saturday and Sunday which is offered with hominy and pata if requested. Limited seating available.

Yelp
Raymond's is one of the first places my husband took me on a date to, and it'll always have a special place in our heart. It's great comfort food, a meal that fills you up, and it also great food when you're drunk/tipsy. The food here is affordable, the employees are friendly, and it tastes just as good whether you eat there or take it to go. This place is cash only, but it's one of the very few places I'd go out of my way to get cash for. They have an ATM inside the restaurant, and it's one of those hole in the wall places that is actually good. We came here for a late night snack. We got 2 ribeye steak tacos (I recommend this over the asada (steak and onions) because the ribeye is a whole piece of steak vs. the chopped up hamburger/ground beef type of meat), 2 chicken tacos, a side of fries, and a bottle of water. I love how they melt the cheese in between the two tortillas instead of sprinkling cheese on top of the taco where the lettuce and tomatoes sit. I highly recommend Raymond's to anyone in the area looking for affordable comfort food, and they're open way past midnight which is convenient. There were long lines at 1 a.m., and all of the tables were occupied.
google avatar

Sandy L.

Yelp
A corner place that brings in a crowd. There's bar style seating and at least 5-6 tables to sit at. Quick to order and quick to receive food. Ordered langua (beef tongue) and al pastor (marinated pork) tacos. These are really good sized tacos that 2 will fill you up. Probably the only taboo place that is border generators with their serving size. Congress with typical cilantro, onion, and sauces on the side.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
I have been meaning to come here for a while, switch up my taco place a bit. I usually go to a couple of joints closer to where I live but I've heard a lot of good things about this place, so I decided to try it. Came here with my girlfriend around 8 or 9 pm and the place was packed (which is always a good thing). We quickly found a table and were greeted. I ordered a chicken, steak, and 2 rib eye tacos and my girlfriend got the steak burger. It was all delicious! I think what I found most awesome was that no only do they use 2 tortillas per taco, but they also put a yellow cheese in between the tortillas!!! So when you bite into the already packed and delicious taco, you are also tasting the melted yellow cheese! I also ordered a rice water which was good, but perhaps too sweet. The last thing we obviously found very nice was that for the 4 tacos, the burger, and a drink, it was just shy of $20!! Super cheap. Anyway, I thought this was a great place and will definitely be dropping by more often (or as often as I can).
google avatar

Victoria R.

Yelp
Very disrespectful to women and if u happen to not like they food they will not refund your money. I was bullied and threatened by these people. I just wanted my money back thats it. They kept my money and the food. The food is usually good but today they just was a not so good taste to the meat so I wanted my money back. Nobody should be disrespected because of food they paid for. It was just me in there in I felt ganged up on. I would never go back in there again
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
Love the quality of the meat so and that slice of cheese is everything so very worth it
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
During quarantine I've ordered both delivery and pick up, both have been quick and accurate. Tacos are super tasty and the hot sauce they provide gives quite a kick. They're not shy with the amount of meat they give. I ordered the al pastor and asada tacos and loved them enough to order them again the second time around. The friends that I've introduced to Raymond's has also enjoyed it and some have asked when we can order from them again!
google avatar

Oscar S.

Yelp
Updated review.Honestly, this place SUCKS ASS!!! I ordered a STEAK BURRITO and these MF's gave me GROUND FUCKING BEEF.WTF???!!!!! And I took that SHIT home and tried to eat it(only because I was hungry) and it was TERRIBLE!!! And dont even get me started on the salsa. Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME giving me this BULLSHIT??!!!! I will NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
google avatar

Mario T.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Still a great variety of flavorful food. Excellent tacos, burritos and even hamburgers and fries as well. If you're from the south side you know
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
The steak tacos are fat (large) and ridiculously, delicious! At most places I order 3 tacos with cilantro but here after just 2 I am almost full. The american cheese between the tortillas was a surprise and quite tasty. The green sauce that comes with your order has little kick with great flavor. Last but definitely not least I almost always order the creamy, fresh and delicious horchata. Now for the question is this place authentic? I would say no BUT, the flavor, portions, freshness and service have made me a regular.
google avatar

Johnny F.

Yelp
I called and ordered for pick up & enjoyed the food. It was filling but I'm not quite sure I'm a fan of how they approached this. On the phone, I ordered 4 steak, 2 rib eye, and 1 al pastor - no cheese. It took us about 1.5 minutes to get the right order since he kept mixing the order. Understandable, it might be loud in there. However, by the end of the call, I asked what would be the total price and he just did not know. When I come to pick up, they didn't know who was picking up for who so it was quite confusing. They don't ask for names and rather call out orders by the order themselves. That's really tough... Lastly, I received my order...and it came with cheese...and lettuce...and tomatoes... Now, I'd have to assume they charged me for the cheese cause I saw the price difference in the menu. This is NOT authentic by offering American cheese w/ lettuce and tomatoes. Is it because I ordered it in English? Sigh. Steak Tacos: Decently flavorful, a great amount of meat. Ribeye Tacos: Echo above. More tender. Al Pastor Tacos: Decent but definitely forgettable. Horchata: This is good but a bit too creamy and a bit too sweet for what I like.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Little mexican place in Pilsen, tho I think there's another location in Logan Square, the quality of the food I got was really good. I got a lengua torta and a steak taco, both were very good and big, and a good deal for how cheap they were, the only downside is that the ordering process is a bit of a mess, there's no official register, or place to order, you just have to go to the counter and try and get one of the staff's attention, there's kind of a line, but no real way to enforce it, and people dining in and ordering out are all mixed together. The floors were kinda dirty too with trash, nothing against the staff, they're just so overworked with orders that they never probably have time to sweep during the day Also it's cash only so be aware of that. While the ordering was a little hectic, the food though was definitely worth it
google avatar

Chico C.

Yelp
Food is actually good, especially the ribeye taco with american cheese in the middle of the tortillas. Only bad is that since the place is open almost 24hrs the place is a little dirty. Doors, windows, floor and even the tables.( you have to make sure one of the employees wipe it out for you.)
google avatar

Moira L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love this place! I get something from here at least once every two weeks, and my boyfriend probably comes here more than once a week. So close to my house and great for a late night bite. They honestly have one of the best lengua tacos I've ever had along with their pork tacos being delicious as well. They slap soooo much meat on to this perfectly fried tortilla. Their horchata is just right (not too sweet and not too milky) and goes perfectly with the whole meal. I know that this is mainly a fast food joint, but I was surprised to find out they don't have avocados. Doesn't make the craziest difference to me, I was just surprised. There would probably be a line outside the door if this place weren't cash-only, but it doesn't seem to be hurting their business at all.

Ronnie M.

Yelp
Carne asada wasn't good at all. Dry and no flavor. Was hoping for better as this was recommended.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
This place... oh my gosh. It's one of my FAVORITE places to go for tacos. Every meat that I order (from steak to pork to chicken) is always well seasoned and tender. Though the tacos are a bit pricer than some other restaurants, they are definitely worth the money. When you add cheese to your tacos, they add the cheese in between the tortillas which is a game-changer. I rarely ever order my tacos with cheese, but Raymond's has me hooked on their cheesy tacos. They also have the best horchata I've had thus far. It's a perfect combination of creamy, watery, and cinnamon-y. FYI: this place is cash only. They have an ATM inside but I'm sure there's like a $3 fee to extract money. Just come prepared!
google avatar

Gab S.

Yelp
$3.50 per taco and they don't take cards get read with your cash, but the meat is sh@T steak is not good don't recommend this over priced bad recycled meat. Gross!
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Decent late-night option on the Lower West Side. I've stopped here a few times when other taquerias are closed. The tacos themselves aren't bad, but they aren't amazing, either. I've had the asada, pastor, ribeye and chicken and in that order are the best to worst. The ribeye would be better if they trimmed the meat. The burgers are a pretty good value for the price, they are not super thick patties, probably similar to McDonald's, but are much better. You can order the tacos with cheese and its actually a slice of American cheese put between two tortillas. It's actually pretty good on the asada tacos, but not so sure about the others. The green salsa they give you is tasty as well, sometimes can be a bit spicy but usually is just right. The price is reasonable and the tacos are pretty good sized. It's not quite trendy Pilsen prices but not Little Village authentic (low) prices either. I believe without cheese the tacos are around $3 each. Service is fast and friendly, I am in and out in minutes usually. Cash only.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Great Asada Tacos with cheese or no cheese. But with cheese better. Everything tasty but no Jarritos or any Mexican drinks in bottles. No pictures because I eat fast everything :)I was hungry
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Wow, I'm surprised this place doesn't have 5 stars because it is. The tacos are authentic and fresh, they melt cheese in between the tortillas and it's so perfect! Meat, onions and cilantro, or you can customize it how you'd like it. Cash only, so don't bother bringing a credit or debit card. But two very filling tacos are only $7.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
One of the best taco spots in the city, they also have a great salsa verde. If you like spice that is. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Tammi J.

Yelp
This place is disgusting! Cashier handling money, taking orders, and handling fries with his bare hands when placing them into the fryer. The cooks were handling the food with their bare hands. I was willing to overlook all of those things because I heard the food was delicious. While I was waiting and watching these atrocities( about 30 minutes) this man sat next to me and placed an order. He was in and out in less than 15 minutes while I continued to wait for 2 tacos and a fry. The gentleman informed me that they choose who to serve promptly by bumping tickets ahead of customers who have been waiting.I won't even complain about the 2 men who arrived 20 minutes after me and were served and halfway finished with their meal before I decided to walk out after 45 minutes. It would have been nice to review the food since it was my first visit. It for sure will be my last.

Adriana A.

Yelp
These tacos are so delicious and fulfilling. Get the cheesy quesadilla style tacos. Absolute goodness! Place only accepts cash though, but it's totally worth it. Default on tacos is lettuce and tomato which I love- usually at other places the default toppings are onion and cilantro and I always ask to change it. Not with Raymond's. Superb! Enjoy it and thank me later.
google avatar

Yesenia D.

Yelp
Yes!!! These tacos are so fulfilling. Super stuffed. One and a half & im extra full and that's cause I'm a big girl lol. How many times have you had onion rings and the breading would fall off? Not here. The flavoring is definitely there! These guys know their cooking! Definitely recommend this one!!
google avatar

Latoya D.

Yelp
So I love authentic mexican that's flavorful and Raymond's is just that. My favorite is the cheese between two shells and the whole ribeye placed on top. Now this isn't one of those tacos that you can eat three of..2 is the max. The ribeye and all the fixings (you must add raw onions, cilantro and add a grilled jalapeño) will leave you wanting to go home and take a nap.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
Yassssssss. That's what my tastebuds scream when I eat a taco from raymonds with cheese. They taste simply delicious. Pollo, asada, allllll of that tastes great. But the secret to the tacos are the cheesy insides. The tortillas have a cheesy fill (essentially a gringa). It's in Pilsen and small- not too much space to dine in. They're really quick though!

Jannah M.

Yelp
Good tacos. Bad service. After I received steak tacos instead of bisteck tacos (that I ordered) the cashier got rude. I told him, I just wanted what I ordered and was willing to pay for it so he could stop talking. He basically was reiterating how he knows how to do his job and I got exactly what I asked for. He then proceeded to tell me that he would fix it but next time I need to make sure that I know what I am ordering. I informed him that there wouldn't be a next time because I wasn't combing back. He got even madder.
google avatar

Rozalynn B.

Yelp
Everyone was telling me this location is so much better than the 26th & Cermak location. I don't see a difference honestly. I ordered the same thing. 2 ribeye steak tacos and it tasted the same. Service was about the same. Location looks a tad bit lighter (lights). We met a funny ass dude while dining in who ate with us & talked shit. He even paid 4 our food. 26th St is closer for me I'll probably just continue to go there. We'll see.
google avatar

Destinee C.

Yelp
Conveniently open at 1 am, but at the cost of quality. The steak tacos are more like ground beef . As for the chicken , the flavor profile is okay. Probably will not be returning.
google avatar

Cori R.

Yelp
Typical Mexican menu items, affordable price. Meat quality 6/10 tortilla 7/10. Would go if I wanted big portions. Cash only.
