My sister always comes around the holidays and we always look forward to the rum cake. I was in town visiting her and finally found Rays Cakes myself. The inside isn't glamorous at all but the cakes and their selections are displayed. This rum cake is my go to pick! The cashier took my order quickly and I was gone in less than ten minutes. This is a 🇭🇹 gem spot! What was more impressive to me is that there was all nationalities coming for the rum cakes and muffins!

The only time this hasn't worked for me is when I just miss their operating hours. Once the door is locked, game over. For the most part, it's no line, no wait. Service is straight to the point - not friendly, not rude, just a "get your transaction done and go" kinda vibe. The location is walk-in with no seating. Prices are reasonable for what you get - these are homemade cakes, not mass produced and the product is always consistent.

Ray's Cakes is the best! From the 1st time my friend got my birthday cake from here i started buying it from here each year. Before I have a party everyone is asking me will I have this cake. I love that they have the cakes readily available in different sizes some with more raisins some with less if you don't like them. If its your birthday they will give you something to put on top. The service is great, the cake is delicious! If you're looking for the best rum cake look no further Ray's Cakes is where its at. My sister's birthday is on Monday and all she wants for her birthday is this cake haha that should tell you how good it is!

This place sells the best most delicious haitian cake i have ever had, Doing a party i had a slice of the cake . it tasted so good i knew i had to go get a whole cake, i stay a bit far from the location but it was worth the drive.

I got my Rum cupcakes from there; very moist and a nice taste of the rum without over powering the cup cake itself. Friendly service on site and are efficient with getting orders done in a timely manner.

Let me start off by saying I don’t like cake. I had tried a piece of cake at a party and was mesmerized with the taste. The rum cake is absolutely delicious, moist and flavorful. I bought a mini rum cake as a last-minute treat for a get together after that first encounter and it did not disappoint. The young lady that attended me was very friendly. Hands down the best when it comes to rum cakes. It's become a must-have at all our family gatherings, a true delicacy we always look forward to. Depending on the time of day, it might be a bit busy or have a couple of people ahead of you, but the service moves quickly. They usually have cakes ready to grab unless you're looking for a custom design or special order. Parking is available and the storefront is easy to find. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the counter and a tempting display of cakes ready to go.

Ever since I was introduced to Ray's, I've been going to them every-time I have a sweet tooth or would order a cake for someone's birthday/event. Very nice staff and the service is always great! If you're a fan of Rum raisin, you'll definitely have to try their rum cake... it is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! 10/10 I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

I make it a priority every Birthday or celebration to buy from Ray's :) Luckily, In the 5+ years I've been purchasing from them I have NEVER had a bad customer service experience. Instead, I've had the most consistently delicious, moist and pretty cakes. Happiness in a box.

Was looking for a Birthday cake last minute and it was already 4:45pm. Most places were closed other than your grocery stores. I called and they were open until 6pm. They specialize in rum cakes so I headed there ASAP because you can never go wrong with rum cake. I've eaten other big chain rum cakes and yes they are pretty good but Rays was off the chain as "they" say. It's a little store right off the palmetto east. It was clean and the service was great. I got the smaller one that feeds 15 but they have bigger. They don't write on the cake but had a Birthday topper for free so that was a bonus. I've found a hidden gem for the rum sweet tooth. Enjoy!!

We came in from out of state to celebrate our daughter's first birthday with family. We chose this bakery because the location was convenient and we had heard good things. The young man who took our order put it in for the wrong date. It was an honest mistake. We had ordered the cake less than a week before the party day, so there was probably a lot going on those days. Anyway, when we went to pick up the cake the day of the party it wasn't done. Probably the worst possible situation for a baker to find themselves in. The lady at the counter (who was sincerely apologetic) immediately went to work to identify our order and said it would be done before the party was due to start (in about an hour and a half). We were worried, but we got a phone call at the promised time! When we picked up our cakes we were pleasantly surprised. They were both beautiful, and the execution was perfect. They looked exactly as they did in the photo we had shown for reference. They also gave us a dozen cute little cupcakes to make up for the inconvenience. And most importantly, both of the cakes were delicious. One had strawberry filling and lemon frosting, the other was a traditional Haitian raisin-rum cake. And despite the initial blunder, they were done in time for the party. We felt as though the baker had gone above and beyond to deliver. And when a business can take a potentially negative situation and completely turn it around, then you know they are top notch. High praise for this small bakery that far exceeded our expectations. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family! We went back to Miami to celebrate our daughter's second birthday and several of our friends asked if we had ordered another cake from this baker. The cake had been so good that our guests had remembered it! We ordered again and it was awesome just like the time before. We love this bakery and the folks that work here.

The Rum cake, the Rum Cake, the Rum Cake. Yeah I can't keep repeating myself. From the first time I tried them to every time I had to order for a function at work. This Rum cake is one of the best I've ever had; and everyone who had a piece really likes it. The rum really hits you when you take a bite into the really moist cake. But I think that's what so good about the cake it that the rum you can smell and taste it. Its not like some other rum cake where you just smell the rum and not taste it. The price is a little pricey but it understandable because, Just my opinion, the amount of rum in the cake is the reason why. But overall this is a really, really good cake. The service is great too never had any issues with them.

Judy is just amazing!! So sweet and patient and very talented! The cakes here are made with love. They really care about their customers. I had Judy come to my home and give my daughter a private cake decorating lesson for her 13th birthday. My daughter felt so special learning from such a talented baker. That one on one attention was priceless. What a great experience! I highly recommend Ray's Cakes.

Very legit rum cakes (I had the little cupcakes and am basing my feedback off of those), but with semi-high prices. I had 2 cupcakes from the place to try these little rum devils out and they were great! The frosting was light but was incredibly creamy (and addicting) and the actual cake was moist and fluffy, but it packed one heck of a rum punch! You could really taste a LOT of rum in there, and if you don't like alcoholic things or the taste of rum then maybe this isn't for you. But I loved the flavor; it tasted like extremely authentic rum cake, not the fake stuff you buy in the store. Also, the cupcakes were a tad bit pricey (I don't remember, but maybe $3/4 per cupcake) because they aren't very large. But they're definitely worth it.

Phenomenal! A locally owned business, with excellent products. I had the rum cupcakes, absolutely amazing, great flavor, actual Haitian barbincourt rum! And most of all not too sweet, just right, perfect balance. We'll definitely be back!

This cake is delicious! They have a nice spongy, moist yellow cake, with the mixture of rum which adds a great flavor. The butter cream icing is soooo good. If your looking for something different, you will be pleased. Used for an engagement party and Bday cake. Largest cake feeds up to 70 pl and you can order additional cake if needed. They have different sizes to choose form. They don't decorate the rum cake too fancy, but they can put ribbon at the bottom and a nice message on toper . There is a ribbon topper for extra cost. The service is nice.

Last week I had my daughter's bridal shower and the cake was a huge hit. I will be ordering more cake from Ray's. Keep up the great job and I will see you soon!

My sister purchased a Rum Cake for my birthday from this place. The flavor of the cake was out of this world and the texture is just what I like in a cake: dense yet moist. The icing tasted homemade; definitely not anything industrial or from a can. As a baker, this is the type of cake I would bake for myself or for family/friends. The Publix bakery can't bake a better birthday cake than this. For my Birthday Cake, 5 Stars all the way.

I came all the way from Parkland, Florida and a beautiful young lady was helping me and her name is Sara. I was looking for a cake to bring to a rehearsal luncheon in May of 2022. Right now I am sampling the different Haitian cakes Miami has to offer. My family did a taste testing last night and they loved it. I will definitely be back to order more cakes. Great job!

Great place, guy behind counter knowledgeable and friendly. Needed a dessert for last minute party and their raisin rum cake ended up being perfect- great texture and lots of flavor - not bland or soggy (or worse, dry) like other rum cakes i have had in past. The pre-order cakes on display look magnificent if you have an event and can order in advance. Always nice to support a small business doing a superior job.

The customer service is great. The nice lady gave us samples of her popular crémas. I've used this bakery to cater a party I had a year ago. The food was delicious. Best of all, their famous rum cake is to die for!

Hands down the best cake I have EVER tasted. I have been a fan of Ray's Cakes since 2011, I will never eat another cake for my milestones and celebrations. The cakes are moist, well priced, and most importantly DELICIOUS. I love the rum raisin cake/cupcakes. You will love this place as much as I do and well worth the drive.

Terrible experience. I was referred to this bakery because I wanted a nicely decorated cake for my baby shower. I went 2 months in advance and the lady at the register informed my it was too early to order. She said I should return the week of my shower. I waited until 9 days before my event and when I went. I was then told custom cakes should be order 2-3 weeks in advance. I explained the prior person gave me different information, which is why I waited until 9 days before. I was instructed to send an email that day and was assured the cake person would call me the following morning. Never received the call, so I call and was told she was not in. The following day I notice I received an email from her. I responded to her question. Now they close for 2 days. 3 days later after I called again I finally get a call back and they quote me nearly $500 for 2 tier cake with a bow. Nothing special. Not even the decor I wanted. This is the most ridiculous thing I ever encountered. I'm appalled.

I bought a Tinkerbell cake for my daughter's birthday and not only was it beautiful but it also tasted great! Rays did an amazing job. They worked with me to create exactly what I wanted. They were professional but at the same time made me feel so comfortable that I could call Alou 10 times per day lol.Thank you guys! The cake was a hit at the party, I will definitely be back!

My fiancé and I didn't want the typical hotel wedding food. We wanted a menu that our guests would be familiar with and would also rave about. When searching for a caterer, we stumbled upon Raymonde during a conversation with a separate vendor. When I went to meet with Raymonde, I hired her without even tasting her food. Sound crazy? I know. She had such a calming personality. She expressed concerns for my budget, made recommendations about what I could do with or do without, what the guests would enjoy, and especially what my future husband would like! She took time to speak with me as if she was advising someone really close to her. I had no idea what the meal would taste like and guest what? My guests LOVED it! Raymonde also made our cake, a traditional Haitian cake, which was an absolute must at our wedding. I would recommend Ray's Cakes and Catering for any bride who wants non traditional wedding food with spice and flavor.
