Ray's is a very popular bakery known for their specialty Haitian cakes. It's denser than typical cake but still moist and flavored with rum. I prefer Haitian cake over other types of cake. The icing, which has a hint of almond, just fits my flavor preference more than others.
Have been a customer of Ray's for several years. A few years ago, once I found out they also sell cupcakes, I was coming a lil too often. Had to cut back on the visits! But when I am looking to get a cake for special occasions, I certainly have Ray's on the list.
My favorite thing about Ray's is that even if you walk in, you can buy a ready to go cake, right on the spot. So if you're on the way to a party, you can stop in and get the . The only time this hasn't worked for me is when I just miss their operating hours. Once the door is locked, game over.
For the most part, it's no line, no wait. Service is straight to the point - not friendly, not rude, just a "get your transaction done and go" kinda vibe. The location is walk-in with no seating. Prices are reasonable for what you get - these are homemade cakes, not mass produced and the product is always consistent.
