I'm so disappointed in the service I've received tonight. If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. First of all, I went to get drinks and I closed my tab. The bar patron was extremely nonchalant and virtually unfriendly, I guess because I closed my tab and only got two drinks. In addition, my family was asked nicely to not bring backpacks by a young black gentleman worker. There's no signs at the establishment and other patrons had their backpacks. I told him how there were no signs, other tables had backpacks and I offered for my bag to be searched. Nevertheless, my family returned the backpacks to our respective cars to be respectful. The black gentleman went to the other tables on the patio to tell them the same thing. The bar owner felt the need to come up to me and say the same thing. To which I replied, there's no sign, the other gentleman already came and told me, and I offered for my bag to be searched. The bar owner said that he had issues with patrons bringing outside liquor into his establishment. I understand that. But to be profiled was absolutely ridiculous. The bar owner said that it was okay for me to have the bag today but in the future it's not acceptable. I'm a frontline worker, a travel nurse, just returning from a COVID assignment in NYC. I can pay my bill no issues and I did so. My cousin and I went to talk to the owner respectfully to which he replied, "You don't know what I'm up against. I'm not having this conversation!" And stormed off. To be a bar owner and to be unable to communicate with folks of different cultures is not acceptable in 2020. I'm making sure that all black and brown folks know that this place is not open to our kind. I will be sure to take my business to Mr. Zub's from this point forward
