The turkey neck was alright. The hot sausage poboy was not good at all, though the bread fresh and easy to chew. The location is clean, less the bugs that were flying about and got inside. I would try something different on the menu once more.

My dad took me to this place I've never been before. He had an oyster in French I had shrimp in French I love that they toast your French Bread per request the bread is fresh and the seafood fresh. My only complaint was that my shrimp wasn't devained 🥴

I would never spend my money here again. I ordered a chicken wing plate and to my surprise when I opened it there was hair on the chicken. I called to tell them about the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done about it. I immediately took the food back and asked for a refund.

Freshly prepared from menu but boil seafood and hotline items are hit or miss depending if they sold out the day before.

I ordered the chicken fried chicken and 8 fried wings. The rice was off, and it didn't taste like I remembered it tasting. It used to be so flavorful and good. This time, it tasted old and like shrimp. The chicken wasn't good either. Guess I'll be on the watch for another good chicken and rice place because this is not it.

I just ordered Yakima a sandwich in the salad for my family so I made a call to let them know a handful of spaghetti is in the Yakima for that much money is unacceptable I called to let her know and she act like she really didn't care so I'm going to let the whole world know do not order Yakima from them cuz it's going to be two shrimps five pieces of beef and one hand full of spaghetti with a lot's of water

It was ok!! The turkey neck was good the crab was just steamed no seasoning and the crawfish was ok could've been spicier kinda bland!!

Love it love it love it! The best crawfish in town. Crawfish were kinda big but oh so delicious, I flew in from Minneapolis and flew back out with my cooler full😋mmmmmm good!

I purchased a shrimp poboy and the bread was broken and crumbly like stale bread. Why would anyone sell you something like that. For the money we pay for food you'd think they would put care into the food they prepare.

Area is a little sketchy but overall my experience was great! I had snow crabs, crawfish, potatoes, and corn. Let me just start with the potatoes as that is my favorite side. PERFECTION. A huge pet peeve of mine is delicious seafood and terrible potatoes. These were seasoned throughout and cooked perfectly. The snow crabs and crawfish were nicely seasoned. Not as spicy as I like, but definitely seasoned. I really enjoyed the seasoning on these. The corn was also pretty good! Flavorful and not over cooked. No issue with customer service. Overall, a really nice experience. I'd go back!

Our first official stop in New Orleans. My sister had been here before and took the lead in ordering. We got snow crab, crawfish, shrimp with the heads on and a pig feet. The crawfish had good flavor. The shrimp seemed over cooked cause I had a real hard time taking the shell off. The snow crabs weren't warmed up long enough but my family still enjoyed them. The store offers both seafood and hot food. You order each on opposite sides of the store. Overall fun experience for the first stop on our trip. Read seafood don't have never worry about me buy food from them every again I call.myself browers for food just check out the prices check out seafood plates shrimp sandwich I found myself paying food I didn't even order just by browsing doorbell ring food I was suppose to order the Uber lady was hard up and Read seafood I call read seafood girl who answered the phone I no who was said it was her mistake and then she add more food to order wand up being $46.82 3 pieces of fish I would never buy 3 piece s of fish from that places knowing I love seafood shrimp oyster is my thing and boneless chicken plate chicken was added was hard they got this time but never no more I would mine because I was look for food because it was my husband birthday but give me a spin in my head how happen my sister work for uber eats rip off

Read Seafood is still a great spot to great some food. I order shrimp poboys and a chicken plate that tasted just like I remembered. The inside has not changed since the last time I was there, but still clean and well kept. I laughed because still remembered their number by heart. I will begin patronizing them again. Until we meet again.

Turkey beck and crawfish is soo good and spicy like I like it. Quick and friendly service.

Service was ok ... establishment was ok ... seafood was horrible .. crabs cold, crawfish overcooked, salty and small ... wont be returning ...

They've made amazing poboys and Chinese dishes for 20-plus years now. Can't go wrong if you're in the East

This restaurant was so shady looking we didn't even go in it's behind a gas station do not recommend

I ordered a shrimp po boy on a bun, had lettuce, tomatoe, pickles and mayo. It was very hard to eat because of the little shrimp falling off, but other than that service was fast and the for was good

Best crawfish I've tasted! I'm from Houston, with that being said the crawfish there is undoubtedly incomparable to this place. This shop is a hole in the wall, you would never even guess to stop by BUT don't let that fool you! Variety of seafood dishes are served here, fresh, fast and HOT! Keep in mind while dining here, it's a mix of a convenient store/seafood joint. Also if you're looking to eat here, there a 8 seater table inside for your convienience

Read seafood always had fresh food both seafood as well as oriental food. I've eaten here several times (a month) for A few years and never have I been disappointed in either food selections. The service is fast and fair! Limited seating but you won't be waiting long here either, always FAST

I ordered the catfish plate with mac n cheese and salad. When they say a catfish plate. People, that's what the heck they mean. Catfish galore! ! I enjoyed my plate. Was $10 and sone tax. I also got some crawfish and corn, smoke sausage, and boiled potatoes. Was so good. I am coming vack mainly for the catfish on a friday. So good! My seafood was good too. My corn and potatoes was good, and my crawfish was nice, hot and spicy just the way I like em!

Well seasoned crawfish that's not too spicy. It is perfect for those who don't like the runny nose with burning mouth feeling. The crawfish were a bit pricey and small but that's not unusual for this time of the year. This restaurant seems clean with pleasant staff, who speak English. *smiles*

Absolutely GREAT. Great selection of fresh seafood, awesome crawfish, cold beer, snickers in the fridge, good sized fresh head on shrimp, well priced whole lobster and a spicy and flavorful pig's foot. That describes our bounty for the day and READS made it happen. Even came back for another five pounds of fresh shrimp to cook when we got back home. A TRULY GREAT Experience.

Soup is so so good. Everything is seasoned really good without being too spicy. Always quick and nice. I always go here before lunch for yakimein

Good crawfish, turkey necks & seafood. Not too spicy... Just right. Will revisit. Cashiers are swift, honest (I saw 1 give back too much money to a customer), accurate & efficient. I noticed they serve hot plates as well, but today was a CRAWFISH day. They have quite a bit of traffic inside & hanging outside. (reason for 3 stars & not 4). Despite being located on a corner lot, parking is chaotic. Crawfish price was relative to the market. Definitely a place I'll revisit.

Still have good seafood and pretty decent po boys for a reasonable price. Love the Yaka Mein. Local spot not to far from Interstate 10

Tried out Read Seafood today while in town for work. The overall quality of the food was good. I have the boiled shrimp, corn and potatoes. The flavor and seasoning was near perfection with all of my dinner. Not too much and not to little. I would have to say that the shrimp were a little tough but not unbearable. That's the only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommend.

This spot food is horrible...My pig feet was salty and my salad was not tasty..They have very bad service,the cook didn't have on a mask or gloves just terrible all around

I have been coming here for years, actually since I was a child. I enjoy the crawfish (when they are in season, not a fan of frozen crawfish). I am not too fond of the boiled shrimp but I think that is a personal preference. The fried shrimp plate the other day tasted bland which isn't usually the case. Wasn't sure if it was because it was close to closing. I enjoy their ooey gooey cake. Occasionally the boudin is a hit or miss. I haven't tried any of their boiled crabs which will be next to eventually do.

Great flavor and size for crawfish and they have Banana colada everfresh. The fellows ate pretty professional and the food hot

Great Yakamein, fried soft shell crab on the side, delicious and fillings! They do not skimp on the meat, never been disappointed

Not sure what happened but this is certainly not the same restaurant that I enjoyed several years back. I ordered shrimp fried rice and a fish/oyster sandwich and they were both bland as can be. I couldn't even finish it. Customer service is non existent. I asked for an empty Styrofoam bowl to portion out the rice and was curtly told by the cashier that it would cost 50 cents. Never again. I promptly went to Castnet afterwards, where the customer service and seafood are reliable.

There customer service is horrible. They talk to the black customers like we are crap and yet we continue to shop here... it's sad we allow this to go on

I traveled to new Orleans for the first time and ate here for lunch. I ordered the snow crab with a bag of potatoes and corn. It was the best seafood I ever had. Tasted so fresh and it was seasoned to perfection. Prices weren't bad at all. I ended up going back the next day.

I got 3 pounds of crawfish, 3 potatoes, 3 ears of corn, and three sausages. Only thing out of all of the food I purchased that had any flavor was the potatoes. The crawfish was rubbery, the corn was flavorless, the sausage had grissel all through it. I won't visit this place again!

Usually awesome! We get fried shrimp and fries or crawfish from here. The shrimp are good, great value. The fries are always fried too long. The crawfish changes sometimes. Sometimes too spicy or too bland but they are still our go to for the price and we don't have wait in super long lines like other places. They aren't reliable with phone orders though. Twice we ordered by phone and when we went to pick up they say they didn't get the order so that's why I only gave 3 stars

Been staying in New Orleans all my life. Every time I past the intersection and seen this place but never thought to try it. Until today when the hunger hit. Today I went actually tried the shrimp poboy. This poboy was so delicious. Nice big shrimp, crisp lettuce, crunchy pickles, and soft bread. I will be back soon!

Ok so... The crawfish was good but they weren't juicy how I would have liked them to be but the were delish. Plus potatoes n smoke sausage!!! Yum yum.

Amazing food! This small spot in New Orleans east never cease to amazing me... The cashiers are always politely swift and always have your orders correct! The food is always... I mean always fantastic! Enjoy !

We go to NOLa annually and usually try to keep it local whether its a nice restaurant or a hole in the wall/Mom&Pops type place . We were driving around the neighborhood of a house we were working on, when we saw this place - it kind of looked like a liquor store. What drew our attention was the active/busy line of locals going in and out, some licking their fingers (no joke.) So we had to pull over and try it. For seafood - this place is our absolute favorite! The Gumbo, the boiled variety of seafood, the PoBoys - my mouth is watering thinking about it. The Chinese plates are delicious - fresh and sizzling right out of the wok....my only complaint is that everything is so delicious and smells so good (hits you like a Zatarain dream when you walk thru the door) its really difficult to choose what you want to feast on. Prices are so good - its easy to just choose everything

Read Seafood Is One Of The Best Seafood Places In New Orleans East. if Your Looking To Get Full And Satisfy Your Taste Buds, This Is The Place. They Have Fresh Crabs, Crawfish, Shrimp, And Other Delicious Seafood. So If Your Ever In The East Please Stop At Read Seafood, You Won't Regret It.

Really liked it! I had the roast beef the first time, mostly because I'm new to seafood and dont love it yet, but someone else in my group had the shrimp and I had a bite and LOVED it, so that's what I got the second time. Both the roast beef and shrimp were awesome, as was the sausage that I had a bite of also. Very good food. Would definitely return. I traveled to NOLA with some natives and this is one of their favorite places - for good reason!
