18 Restaurants Worth a Drive Out of Nashville - Eater Nashville

"Take a weekend drive south of town to this working gristmill, which dates back to the early 1800s. The onsite restaurant serves up hearty, traditional dishes for breakfast, lunch, and brunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Great piece of Americana and very good food! I had the Miller's Breakfast and dad had the catfish with fried okra and mashed potatoes. The restoration of all the old mill buildings is amazing. And Amy was a very attentive and friendly server.

Such a homestyle, nostalgic and endearing culinary experience. Think crackerbarrel, but if your granny did it way better. You'll feel at home and your bellies will thank you! Try the Chicken and Waffles Benedict, and the Gouda Grits! You won't be disappointed!

The weather was terrible with cold drizzling rain but the history of this old mill truly made our drive from Columbia Tn.worth every minute of it.The friendly staff at the restaurant was welcoming and our waiter was amazing! We ate from the lunch menu and the food was great. We are definately planning another trip in the spring to have breakfast. This was a special Valentine surprise from my husband that I will forever cherish! We would recommend Readyville Mill to all of our friends! Pam and Steve Lockhart Columbia,Tn.

This place is lovely and such a local treasure. The whole experience was terrific and the owner and staff are very customer focussed and friendly. I love walking the grounds after a large meal. We went on Sunday and ordered off the special menu. The chicken & waffle eggs Benedict was so delicious. Unfortunately, the pulled pork chili was more like a bowl of refried beans, but the hashbrown casserole made up for it. You better make a reservation in advance though, they get crowded very quickly.

The service and food were excellent. It is a really cool place to walk around afterwards and see the sights. I highly recommend. It's well worth the drive.

Really neat atmosphere and history but the food was over priced and not what was expected. Too "gourmet "for a country setting. They also dont have anything for kids to eat, or at least picky kids.

It was my first time going to the mill. It was delicious! I got the omelet, cheese hashbrowns, biscuit with homemade strawberry jam, and a stack of cinnamon swirl pancakes that tasted just like a cinnamon roll sooooooooo tasty! The service was fantastic. The prices were outstanding for the quality and portions of food.

While Readyville Mill is easy to miss and tucked into a quiet country cove, it is worth the trip. They have southern classics and more unique options. For the amount of food, I think the price is reasonable. They don’t hold back on portions! It has a very homey atmosphere... it made me feel like I was at my grandparents’ house. The grounds outside could definitely stand to be cleaned up some, but it’s really a really beautiful area.
