Real has great food, a phenomenal setting and great people. However, their service is quite poor given the pandemic induced restrictions placed on indoor dining. I was sympathetic to the complexities of this transition when I ordered from them in March, April, and even May. However, at some point they need to settle into the new normal and improve their service to hit pick up windows they promise to customers. Our current order was 55 minutes late and no notice was provided. Real, you have great food, I look forward to you making the transition many other restaurants have made and will return to you then.

We had a wonderful Dinner at Real Restaurant this evening, which was also the evening of its official opening here in Lincoln. The food was excellent, staff was helpful and prompt. We were served relatively quickly. The Menu had a variety of selections that are sure to have something for almost any taste (or dietary restriction). I really wanted to try out their milkshakes - something you don't usually see in a restaurant of this caliber, but alas - my waistline would not allow it! What I most feel needs to be said is that the atmosphere of the restaurant is delightful. The decor has Scandinavian influences: clean lines, simple furnishings - elegant but not overpowering. And, the space is carefully designed to minimize noise. I have a hard time hearing anything when there is more than a little background noise, but I had no problems at all at Real, even with every table full of talkative guests. A wonderful experience and an enjoyable meal. We'll be sure to be back again soon!

Our family of 4 went to Real on the second night they were open and had a great experience. Food was tasty and service was fantastic (especially for being so new!) Perfect mix of dishes for adults and kids alike, a warm and inviting space, and a friendly staff make for a promising start! We will go back regularly. UPDATE: Over the past year, Real has become an integral part of the community. We've dined here regularly and are consistently impressed with the quality of the food and the care with which is it presented and served. Since the CV-19 pandemic, we've had regular take-out meals and last weekend enjoyed our first movie night (for Chef) which surprised and delighted us all. We look forward to dining in person again soon!

Our family goes almost weekly since they opened and we love this local gem! I'm pretty serious about good food and our nine-year-old is very picky yet we both thoroughly enjoy going to Real. The food is absolutely delightful -- both warm and approachable yet also inventive and above all delicious -- and one of, if not the best, food quality to price ratios I have ever experienced. The menu features local food from Drumlin Farm, and I think also the Food Project, both in Lincoln itself, as well as Fat Moon organic mushrooms from Westford. The ambiance is casual, relaxing and friendly and you can actually hear your dinner companions! Although we fortunately don't need to avoid gluten, the chef, Tom Fosnot, does wonderful twists on old favorites like cavatelle using different grains, and does a wonderful twist on croutons using corn meal. We once went there and all six mains on the menu were gluten-free. They do change up the menu a bit here and there but they keep old favorites. My favorite so far is the roasted chicken breast with corn grit croutons and the green goddess dressing. The other dish I'm dying to try which is a favorite is the sautéed cod with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, preserved lemon and parsley butter. I haven't tried it yet and have been experimenting with their new dishes and specials as I've been told it will stay on the menu. Usually kid's food isn't that great in comparison to adult food at restaurants (this is one of my litmus tests), but their mac n' cheese is great -- they aren't scrimping on the food that appeals to most children. I'm super picky about wine but have enjoyed their curated wine list so far. The bar manager is fantastic and they have mixed drinks as well. As the restaurant was getting off the ground, the service was too slow. Now it is much better. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful without standing over you. I give Real my highest recommendation for an approachable yet super high food-quality restaurant!

WOW! Continually blown away by the layers of flavors and incredible combinations of REAL’s Menu Items, that are expertly prepared and presented. Each person at our table stated that was the best “burger” or “roasted chicken” “Caesar salad” or “lamb and gnocchi” dish they ever had. From the first to last bite, you enjoy a fresh feeling of delightful and satisfying food , that is never weighed down. We all shared five different First courses entree and desserts. Everything was perfect in textures and tastes, Great service and love having a place that you can hear everyone at the table. Great comfortable atmosphere, where you feel treated special and are incredibly relaxed at the same time.

We got a sneak preview tonight and we're in love! I started with the pork frikadeller which comes on a delicious and new-to-me Scandinavian dark brown rye bread - a very unique flavor and texture that went brilliantly with the amazing house pickles. I really enjoyed the meat hook hot dog. It had a great smoked meat flavor that mixed so well with the frizzled onions and sauces. Definitely what I would call a gourmet dog. It's a couple hours later and I'm still savoring the memory of those flavor combinations! My wife choose the Real burger which came with the frizzled onions and rarebit, which is a Welsh classic blend of cheese, mustard, and spices. She now has a new favorite burger in town! Our friends went higher end and loved their salmon and hanger steak as well. A great experience from a brand new place that is sure to become hugely popular with so many fresh new tastes.
