This is true fine dining! Very clean professional restaurant. Service was excellent, down to the visit from the GM. Each dish served was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Seafood was fresh…crab cakes was not made with a bunch of unnecessary fillers, it was sooo delicious! The salmon was really good as well. They mashed potatoes were just as delicious. The crisp of the rice from my appetizer was really good along with the flavor. We even enjoyed the dessert. As soon as we get back to the area this will be our first stop.

EXCELLENT in every aspect! Food is well prepared, aesthetically appealing and delicious! The clam chowder soup was the best I have ever tasted. The blackened swordfish was perfection, serve with asparagus. The server, Shawn H., was professional, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. The atmosphere is warm, stylish and upscale. There is not one thing I would change! We’ve been here twice in the past month and it never disappoints! Keep up the fantastic work!

Used to be our go to for our anniversary, plus other occasions. Unfortunately after a very subpar meal and waitstaff with zero energy (until presenting the check), we will dine elsewhere. My lukewarm risotto was WAY too salty, compliments of the chef, he/she must not taste it or doesn’t care. (I’ve had it previously, and it’s been good, not any more. Wait staff Desiree had zero energy, bare minimum of visits to check the table, no enthusiasm until presenting the check. Failed to notice me picking at risotto- pacing my water supply. Getting my water glass refilled was apparently not a given- perhaps I should have gone to find a pitcher myself? I had to munch on my remaining ice chips because clearly no refill was coming- bare minimum exertion of service. Couldn’t wait to leave so I could wash away the salty risotto. Sad, it used to be an upscale place, but too many negatives in one visit. Way overpriced for the food and lack of service. Last year on our anniversary we had a new server, and he warranted a personal conversation with the GM because his service was great. Sad to see they lost the good servers.

Real Seafood is ideally located on Main Street in Ann Arbor, it’s location allows it to have seating on the sidewalk and street, which is perfect for outdoor eating and watching the world go by. This establishment has history going back to over 20 years so they know how to do good food by now. The service on this occasion was questionable, the time one had to wait for the order to be taken and the food to arrive was more than should expect, it was due in part to a large party taking most of the servers time, management did come to explain and offer apologies, a nice touch. The food is extremely delicious, tasty with lots of flavours, my chosen delish meal was Pecan Chicken with smashed potatoes, the smashed potatoes was so nice with lots of fluffiness, the sprouts as a side was spectacular, I have no idea how it was cooked, but it was a highlight. Seafood is the stable on the menu which is my intention on my next visit. The atmosphere is enhanced by the bar area and the open views of the kitchen and custom photos and memorabilia all related, the only downside is it is pricey but I can assure you it’s worth it and I intend to return.

I don't like to say this, but my conclusion from my two visits last year is, "They just dislike Asian people (like us)." This place was a favorite of mine from 2000 to 2006, but I don’t want to go back anymore. On both occasions, the male receptionist, with evident displeasure and after some hesitation, seated us at a chilly spot by the terrace, though the restaurant was far from full and it was not a weekend. One of these times was even a reservation made for family's birthday. The server, who was still in training (that's okay), messed up our orders, and when we mentioned it was rather cold, we were told, "Well, too bad." All the dishes we ordered, including the appetizers, were served simultaneously. Of course, I left a 20% tip both times (I believe it's minimum anyway). I have never encountered such disrespectful service at any other restaurant in Ann Arbor. It’s very disappointing to have received such cold treatment twice last year from a restaurant I used to adore. I would recommend trying Gandy Dancer in the north part of Ann Arbor instead.

We really enjoyed the sweet and spicy calamari as an appetizer, but not as much the tuna appetizer. Potato forward, it's not a good match, in my opinion. The Jambalaya was amazing and delicious. A large portion that can be shared. They split it for us in the back and we really appreciated it. We also had a bloody Mary, delicious with shrimp. Highly recommend.

Always a great experience and one of my favorites in Ann Arbor. Started with the gazpacho which was perfect for a hot summer night. The jambalaya was fragrant and hearty. I couldn't resist sneaking a taste by dipping the bread before taking the photo. It was smoky and delicious! Huge portion, and I had no business ordering dessert after that but I couldn't resist the key lime pie. Rich and decadent and absolutely perfect for a summer evening. Brilliant as always!

My stuffed salmon was Amazing! Brussel sprouts for our appetizer was also delicious! I gave it a 4 star because the cocktails were awful 😞. I sent one back and ordered something else, a chocolate martini and that was equally disappointing. I didn't drink it but didn't send it back. 4 star service, took a bit to order and the young gentleman was very knew and very nervous. I'm sure he will do just fine. He was nice .. just not 5 star worthy.
