This place has been an Ann Arbor Staple for well over 35 years. They have a lovely staff who are very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The drinks are frosty and the service is impeccable. The food comes out fast and in good order with your happiness on the cross hairs. They treated my friends and me like VIP’s and gave us a dessert to share because a few late ordered dishes took a little more time than expected. They made sure the delay didn’t go unnoticed even though we didn’t and were very accommodating. The bar was very cozy and made happy hour possible because it is not available on the main floor. I’m sure with the high standards they have kept in motion all this time they will be here in another 35 years. Thank you Real Seafood and Main Street Ventures;).

I loved the food, second time visiting here! The only thing I noticed is that many dishes have mushrooms in them, a lot of people have allergies like myself. I had to improvise and the waiter was kind enough to arrange a dish I was craving but without the mushrooms, I had the stuffed salmon dish only my salmon was not stuffed because the stuffing had mushrooms in it already. Still enjoyed it.

fantastic establishment and grateful for a family gathering or date night. I personally like going here when I don’t have to pay the bill or when I only have to pay a portion of it very knowledgeable staff very friendly people as well.. They calamari is probably some of the best hat in Ann Arbor And their drinks were also excellent and contain pretty well put together flavor profiles

Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I celebrated our fifth anniversary here, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Our waitress, Scout, was absolutely amazing—so kind and attentive. She even surprised us with a complimentary plate of strawberries and blueberries, beautifully decorated with chocolate sauce that said “Happy Anniversary.” It was such a thoughtful touch! The bartender, Alexis, was a tequila expert and helped me find some incredible tequila drinks. She really knew her stuff and made the experience fun and unique. I even got to meet Joe, the general manager, who was fantastic. He took the time to chat, answer my tequila questions, and even gave me his business card for future recommendations. On top of the outstanding service, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was perfect for a special night out. I truly couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate with my beautiful wife. We’ll definitely be back!

This is true fine dining! Very clean professional restaurant. Service was excellent, down to the visit from the GM. Each dish served was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Seafood was fresh…crab cakes was not made with a bunch of unnecessary fillers, it was sooo delicious! The salmon was really good as well. They mashed potatoes were just as delicious. The crisp of the rice from my appetizer was really good along with the flavor. We even enjoyed the dessert. As soon as we get back to the area this will be our first stop.

Delicious and tasty seafood found here! Everything was a delight in this restaurant. We shared an appetizer and a main course between the two of us and enjoyed thoroughly. We tried the crab cake appetizer, which had large enough pieces of crab, it had a great texture to it, and came with a side of salad. As a main, the crab stuffed lobster was amazing and the portion was very large. It has mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables as sides. The flavours were incredible. Service was impecable. I highly recommend this place.

The food tasted OK. I ordered the flounder. Cutting one piece of flounder in half and calling it “a lunch portion” is unacceptable for the price.

I've been going to Real Seafood in Ann Arbor for over 30 year's. I had a late dinner there tonight and it was HORRIBLE! Like I'll never go back! It was the 2nd time the food was just TERRIBLE! Plus for the price you pay you expect good consistent quality. I ordered Blackened Swordfish and the quality of the fish was very very poor! I also wanted just the basic fish blackened with none of the sauces and toppings that come with the entree. That wasn't the case sadly when it arrived. I specifically explained to the wait staff who was also w a trainee how Id like it prepared. It didn't arrive in the manner it was requested sadly. The Clam Chowder Soup was good and the potatoes too at least. I ALWAYS had to ask the staff for a refill of water? Keep in mind there were only like 3 tables occupied in the entire restaurant when I was dining! I guess I had a good run for 30 year's, but things have just changed there sadly! The quality isn't what it use to be. Portioning small for what you get. Just disappointed all the way around. When Barb was the General Mgr back in the day this would not have happened because she visited every table! It was first class dining. Not anymore. Why didn't I say anything about the entree being bad? I was so disappointed in my whole dining experience I just wasn't up to making a fuss that close to closing time. I just told myself I'll never return. That was it. I wasn't confident the next meal would be any different from a quality perspective. Thank you for reading. *EDIT: 6/25/25 After receiving email correspondence from corporate they extended an invitation for another visit which was gracious and appreciated.
