Rebar is pretty awesome.
I've never seen a cover here. The drink specials are generally pretty generous. They get some good bands in there too.
There's plenty of seating, and I like how there's seating indoors and outdoors, and the indoors seating has sort of rooms, or out of the way seating places, so if you have a group of friends, and want to be out of the middle of things, you can find a quiet places to sit and chat. The place is big enough to accommodate two bands simultaneously, which is cool. They have two bars also, so if one's busy, there's always the other one.
The prices are reasonable, nothing great.
It has been getting a bit rougher there in the past months, with some more unsavory clientèle visiting recently, which has substantially increased the amount of crime in the parking lots, especially late on weekend nights. I've been going to Rebar for years, and have noticed the crime getting worse.
They have a few television sets on which you can watch the game, but the sound is usually turned off.
It's a great place to go bar-hopping- to hit this place, and all the other bars across Broadway. I think it's the tamest of all the bars on the block.
I dislike that they have these signs that tell you that it's not their responsibility if you walk into the street, and get run over (which happened to someone not too long ago) They tell you to go walk a block down the street to cross at the crosswalk, like you should legally do, but nobody does that. It gets downright dangerous at night, when all these drunks are speeding home, and you've got to perform a drunken version of Frogger to get to the next place. It seems that they could benefit from a crossing guard or something, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
